Lisbon’s waterfront stretches for almost 20 kilometers. There are excellent beaches just 20 minutes away. The wonderful cultural options are many and varied, and are to be found throughout the city. It is the “city of seven hills”, and access to the castle, Portugal’s most-visited monument, is continuously being facilitated, through installation of elevators and other mechanical solutions. It is a cool and safe city for a night on the town, for instance in the neighbourhoods Bairro Alto and Cais do Sodré.
