Dear Friends, Welcome to the 52nd Annual GMA Dove Awards and congratulations to this year’s nominees! Our theme for tonight is “Stronger Together.” It represents a moment in time that we have chosen to come together to praise the God of heaven and earth and rejoice in our great Redeemer. So much has transpired since we were together in 2019. Our world has been challenged by a pandemic, our nation is struggling with vital issues that are causing a great divide and the pain of loss and disruption has touched us all. However, because of Jesus, 2 Corinthians 4:9 says, “We may be pressed down but we are not defeated.” During this unprecedented season, our creative community has birthed amazing music, offering a lifeline of hope and truth. This evening, the Dove Awards stage will fulfill the GMA mission to Expose, Promote and Celebrate the Gospel through Music and Media. It’s about more than bright lights and cameras, it’s about spreading the gospel, proclaiming the transforming power of God, and filling homes with the love of Jesus through a global telecast. My prayer is that as you experience the diverse musical styles tonight, you will join us in worship to our Creator and celebrate the artists and songwriters who have turned their ear towards heaven, giving us songs and sounds that unite us and make us “Stronger Together.”

Inspiring so many to renew their faith and understand their purpose, the music and artists celebrated this night are more than a thriving Tennessee industry. In this time of unprecedented challenges, people need the uplifting and encouraging message that Gospel music provides more than ever. Again, welcome to the 2021 GMA Dove Awards. Maria and I send our very best wishes for a wonderful and memorable evening. Warmest regards,

Founded by Gospel Music Hall of Fame songwriter and producer Bill Gaither, this GMA Dove Award and GRAMMY®-winning vocal group has performed in some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including the Sydney Opera House, The Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall. The list of men who have comprised the Gaither Vocal Band over the past 30 years reads like a “Who’s Who” among the gospel music industry’s best-loved voices. Today the Gaither Vocal Band roster features Bill Gaither, Wes Hampton, Adam Crabb, Todd Suttles and Reggie Smith and together they are known internationally for their stunning vocals, innovative harmonies and life-altering message—one of grace, hope and redemption. They are nominated for four GMA Dove Awards tonight including Southern Gospel Album of the Year.
JOSEPH HABEDANK Daywind recording artist Joseph Habedank is a two-time GRAMMY®-nominated and two-time GMA Dove Award-winning singer/songwriter. His sophomore release, Resurrection, was the first album released by a solo artist to receive the GMA Dove Award for Southern Gospel Album of the Year and garnered Habedank his first GRAMMY® nomination. Habedank’s latest Dove-nominated release, Change Is Coming, features radio hit, “Religion Isn’t Working.” Habedank is an accomplished songwriter whose songs have been recorded by artists such as: Reba McEntire, Restless Heart, Dailey and Vincent, the Booth Brothers, Triumphant, Karen Peck & New River, the Hoppers, and many more. An offering of mostly original songs, the album was born during the past year of testing and trusting and includes the successful single “Wake Up.” Keeping On follows Ernie Haase & Signature Sound’s Something Beautiful, a tribute to the legacy of Bill and Gloria Gaither, which received a nomination for Best Roots Gospel Album at this year’s GRAMMY® Awards. This marked Haase’s eighth GRAMMY® nomination individually and the group’s third collective nomination. The group is also nominated tonight for Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year.

They have been voted Fan Favorite Quartet in the Gospel Music field for the last several years. Having collected multiple #1 songs, the group received a 2019 GMA Dove Award for their album YES, voted Southern Gospel Album of the Year. Triumphant’s sound is distinctive, solid quartet singing, voting them Fan Favorite Quartet for 12 consecutive years as well as Artist of the Year the past 3 years.
