"Put yourself first and there will be plenty of you left for others"

March, 21 - April, 19 You may be inclined to stay in bed with the latest best seller. Who wouldn't want to spend the day this way? Alas, that isn't going to happen. The planets are practically pulling the covers off you and pushing you out of bed. There's work to be done!

Famous Capricorn

Amoroso Balentin Born: January 5, 1981

CAPRICORN

December, 22 - January, 19 Planetary positions urge you to assert yourself, but take care not to take this encouragement too far. You have a tendency to go a bit overboard when making a point. There are times (and this is one) when subtlety is more powerful. Try being low key and open rather than uptight and defensive.

WELLNESS The desire to push yourself could be especially strong. This means mentally and emotionally, as well as physically. Try not to give in to this feeling, and instead step back and notice it for what it is: the tendency to be hard on yourself when things are confusing or overwhelming for you. What you really need to do is have a nice cup of tea or a little bit of refreshing exercise and plenty of rest. The urge to push yourself is a way of covering up your true emotions.

2

April, 20 - May, 20 You have a lot to offer. Everyone appreciates what you have to contribute. Yet you've been unable to give yourself credit for all that you've accomplished. It would be worthwhile to take some time to contemplate why this is so. You have a strong need to be loved, but you must first love yourself. May, 21 - June, 20 Whether you acknowledge it or not, there's a child inside you who needs tending. You're proud of the person you've become - and well you should be. But you're the product of who you once were.

CANCER

June, 21 - July, 22 You're usually the one people turn to when they need consolation. In spite of the tension in the air, your words seem to have no effect. Let other people take care of themselves for a change. You can spend your time quietly reading a good book.

LEO

July, 23 - August, 22 Take stock of all that's occurring on the home front. Think back over the last few months and you will see how much of your attention has been on work rather than loved ones. There's probably some fallout as a result. Fortunately, a few days in close contact with family will put everything right.

VIRGO

August, 23 - September, 22 Think long and hard before making commitments. Much is at stake, especially where your love life is concerned. It's likely that a proposal is coming your way. Do you know how you will answer? Events may have you feeling like you're at a crossroads when actually you're more on track than ever.

September, 23 - October, 22 You will be busy. Nevertheless, you still may end the day with your desk piled high with projects - not because you're unproductive, but rather because you're popular and your work is valued. You may be wishing you weren't quite so valuable! October, 23 - November, 22 You've been working exceptionally hard. Recharge your batteries. It seems everyone wants a piece of you. You may have reached the point where you have nothing left to give. It's OK to say so. If possible, take the phone off the hook and reserve the day for yourself.

SAGITTARIUS -

SAGITTARIUS

November, 23 - December, 21 Is it possible that you've finally learned how to say no? You're the one everyone asks for help. You spend so much time on other people's problems that you have little energy left for you. This situation ultimately helps no one. Put yourself first and there will be plenty of you left for others. If you're depleted, everyone loses.

AQUARIUS

January, 20 - February, 18 You have a strong creative component to your personality. You should use it more. Planetary positions will influence both your creativity and productivity. You will likely find yourself working as never before, and with better results.

PISCES

February, 19 - March, 20 You're highly sensitive and highly intellectual. This is a wonderful combination and part of what makes you a superstar. Planetary positions challenge you to think how you can best combine these two key components of your personality. Have you considered writing?

GOWEEKLY 01 2017 ENTERTAINMENT

Now that 2016 is done and dusted and consigned to history, the Official Charts Company can reveal the official biggest singles of the entire year. Sitting at the top of the year-end rundown, which counts digital, physical and streaming equivalent sales, is Drake's One Dance, feat. Wizkid and Kyla. One Dance was the inescapable sound of the summer in 2016, notching up an astonishing 15 weeks at Number 1, leveling with Wet Wet Wet’s epic stint with Love Is All Around in 1994 but falling short of the all-time record.

'One Dance'

One Dance, which was Drake's first Number 1 as a lead artist, has racked up 1.95 million combined sales, made up of 530,000 downloads and an impressive 142 million streams. With streaming now accounting for 80% of the singles market here in the UK, One Dance also nabs the title of the most streamed song of 2016, holding the record for the most streams in one week at 7.86m plays.

New Year, new beau?

The holidays are a time for old friends to come together and Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian West did reunite at Kris Jenner‘s annual Christmas Eve bash. The two former BFFs posed for a photo together, each dressed in her holiday best. Hilton wore a black dress with jewel earrings, while Kardashian West donned a shining gold, cleavage-baring Alexander Wang number accessorized with a lip ring. “Lovely evening celebrating the holidays with @KimKardashian,” Hilton wrote on Instagram, sharing the shot. It’s the first time the two have been together since reuniting in Ibiza for Riccardo Tisci’s star-studded birthday party in 2014, which Kardashian West shared on Instagram.

Britney Spears took to Instagram on Sunday afternoon to share how she spent her New Year’s Eve: cozying up to rumored boyfriend Sam Asghari. “Happy New Year,” the pop icon, 35, wrote in a post showing a beaming Spears and Asghari with his arm around her shoulder. The pair first met on the set of Spears’s “Slumber Party” music video, and have been fueling romance rumors ever since. Late last month, the singer and the model stepped out for a dinner date, where Spears was spotted breaking out in laughter as she walked alongside Asghari. As for the seriousness of the relationship? Spears — who broke up with TV producer Charlie Ebersol in June 2015 — recently said on The Jonathan Ross Show she had no interest in dating. We will see in 2017…

GOWEEKLY 01 2017 COVER STORY

How did you jump-start your music career? Did you always want to be a singer? I actually wanted to be a princess, or the yellow power ranger haha! But I did always like to sing. I wasn’t really aware of the fact that I could sing. Nobody thought that I could sing. My teacher in pre-school always told me that I had a good voice but I was too young to really care I guess. When I went to High School, someone heard me singing in the toilets and she literally dragged me through the school and forced me to sing for everyone. That’s how I started to sing.

Kimberly Maasdamme She’s beautiful and blessed with an amazing voice. She started singing when she was only 12 years old. At the age of 19, she went to the conservatory in Enschede. Now, 6 years later, she travels around the world, doing fulltime what she loves: sing! Meet the amazing and super talented, Kimberly Maasdamme! Editor: Sendeliz Gibbes | Photography: Uriel Symor

8

You sing in the band ‘The Young Beethoven’ in the Netherlands and in Germany, with ‘New City Beats’. At this moment you are in Curaçao to perform with Juni Juliet. How does it feel to perform in Curaçao compared to the Netherlands and Germany? It’s completely different! The people are different. The Netherlands and Germany are more well-rounded when it comes to music. They really like everything. But like every place I visit, I have my favorite spots where I want to sing. And there are so many music lovers in Curaçao, they really appreciate music. I really love Curaçao in December. You get to meet so many people from around the world.

How do you prepare for a show? Do you have any routine before you hit the stage? I like to take my time before a show. I take at least 2 hours to get ready. To get dressed and to fix my hair and make up

COVER STORY GOWEEKLY 01 2017

with some music in the background. It’s not that I need all that time, but it’s just relaxing and a ‘Zen’ moment! After that, I start doing vocal warm ups with ‘’lax vox’’ (singing through a big straw, in a bottle of water) so, kind of boring!

‘Sweet Talker’ by Jessie J

What is your most memorable performance up until now?

Hidden talents?

What can we expect in 2017 from Kimberly Maasdamme and what would be your ultimate goal as an artist? My own music!! It’s time for some changes! I’m going to stop doing some things I’ve been doing for a long time already, so I can do new things and put more time in songwriting and recording. My ultimate goal would be, to sing my own songs in as much places as possible! And touring around the world, like I am already doing. I love new and exciting things. I love adventures and for me there is no bigger adventure than to show the world who I really am by singing my own songs.

Cliché but just do what makes you happy. Be you. Love. Treat people the way you want to be treated.

MCM: Ian Somerhalder

I can’t live without: My family

Fav. Destination: Till now Curaçao

Fav. Artist: Whitney Houston, Tasha Cobbs and Jessie J

Guilty pleasure: I like ugly stuff! Haha! Sometimes something is so ugly that I want it! For example a very ugly Christmas sweater or ugly flip flops with fur!

2017: I’m going to follow my dreams. I’m letting go of the things I’m used to. I’m going to jump into something new and ‘’scary’’ because if your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough.

Fun Facts

This year I did a really big show in De RAI in Amsterdam for almost 10.000 people. I ran around like crazy because I had a couple of quick changes. There was a whole team that helped me change, fixing my hair and make-up sometimes in less than 5 minutes. I felt like a superstar haha! And last October I had a really big show in Dubai. They set-up the party in the middle of a desert! That show was really special too!

Best advice:

NEW YEARS

DETOX If you went a little overboard and are now feeling the urge to eat clean, you've come to the right place. Since most detoxes are usually caloriedeprivation diets in disguise, it's wise to steer clear of them, but not to worry — there are still ways to get your body back on track. Exercising, cutting out alcohol and refined sugars, and eating a healthy diet do wonders. A little extra help doesn't hurt either. Here are 10 healthy foods with natural cleansing properties. Include them in your next meal and get rid of that extra junk left over from the big feast. Editor: Charlysen Jansen

12

Lemon Water Lemons are a great source of vitamin C, which is known to help the body detox and burn fat. Drink water with lemon every morning as a way to alkalize the body and help with digestion.

Watercress Think beyond delicate tea sandwiches and throw some peppery watercress into your next salad or make this bowl of spicy soba noodles. It keeps free radicals away from your cells, helps energize cleansing enzymes in the liver, and is a natural diuretic.

Dark Leafy Green There are a ton of ways to get leafy greens into your diet — eat them raw, throw them into a broth, add them to juices, or sauté them with a touch of olive oil. Leafy greens boost chlorophyll levels in the digestive tract, which helps the body get rid of environmental toxins like smog and herbicides.

Beets Fiber in beets helps increase the production of antioxidant enzymes in the liver, which help the liver and gallbladder eliminate bile from the body.

Fresh Fruit Full of vitamins, antioxidants, fiber, and just about any other good thing you can name, fruit is a must for a healthy diet. After filling up your body with butter and booze, we can’t think of a better way to make amends than with a big ol’ fruit bowl.

Unforgettable trips to plan in 2017

There's no such thing as magic in this world, but that exhilarating feeling of embarking on a trip comes pretty close. We all get excited over a new stamp in our passport, right? Here, we rounded up 5 places you need to visit in 2017. To travel is to live… so live more in 2017!

The Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye – Scotland The Fairy Pools are a series of clear, cold pools and waterfalls formed as Allt Coir’ a’ Mhadaidh tumbles down from the foothills of the Black Cuillins into Glen Brittle. These famous pools entice visitors from all over the world, as they make some great ‘Wild Swimming’ for those brave enough to enter the cold water.

Coral Bay, St. John The beaches are less crowded, the emphasis is on local over commercial, and the people share a friendly sense of neighborhood pride. This quiet community may soon change. Visit before a proposed outlet mall and megamarina transform the laidback atmosphere of this little corner of the U.S Virgin Islands.

Seychelles Captivating pristine white sand beaches and trickling azure water will stupefy you for days. The feel of the soft sands here is something unique which is found in no other part of the world. Ecotourism is in vogue and there is endless option for those who want to splurge.

Casco Viejo, Panama If you love the charm of fortressed Cartagena along Colombia’s Caribbean coast, then you will swoon for Casco Viejo. The old town and UNESCO World Heritage Site is full of thriving cultures, colorful façades, and an enigmatic, convivial hum in true Central American fashion.
