PISCES

February, 19 - March, 20 Your optimism and enthusiasm should be very high, Pisces. Business and partnerships have been proving both satisfying and profitable lately, and you could receive information about new doors that could unexpectedly open up for you. You’ve worked hard, supposedly without results, for a long time, and now it seems like everything’s happening at once. This is very exciting, but remember that if you want to maintain your current pace, you have to keep working! Get going! Focusing Waking up a little earlier can give you the opportunity to have some healthy time alone before the day begins. You will benefit from taking a little time each day to center yourself in terms of what you want to accomplish. You have a tendency to get wrapped up in other people’s agendas because you are so talented at helping others achieve their goals. Focusing on yourself over a cup of herbal tea in the morning can have a powerful effect on your life.

2

April, 21 - May, 20 Communications involving business matters could take up much of your time. These could concern your own goals or those of a friend or a group with which you’re affiliated. Whatever it is, you should feel a strong sense of elation and optimism.

LEO

July, 23 - August, 22 Someone in the know could come to you with opportunities for increasing your income perhaps involving investments of time or other resources in new business enterprises. These possibilities are worthy of consideration, yet you need to be particularly businesslike and consider all the ins and outs and pros and cons before committing to anything.

August, 23 - September, 22 If you’ve been thinking about starting a new business partnership, this is the day to take some positive action toward that end. Any new business enterprises particularly involving partnerships show a lot of promise for success. SAGITTARIUS

GOWEEKLY 08 2016 ENTERTAINMENT

Jennifer Lopez: ‘I’m dead by the end of my Vegas show!’ Jennifer Lopez constantly wonders why she created such a difficult Las Vegas show for herself.

Rihanna has postponed the start of her North American tour due to “production delays”. The Diamonds star was slated to kick off her Anti trek in San Diego, California on 26 February, but now that date, as well as her first eight stops throughout the U.S., have been shifted from February and March to May. A representative for Rihanna tells The Los Angeles Times that “production delays” were the cause for the postponement. The news comes days after she pulled out of a planned performance at Monday’s Grammy Awards at the last minute, citing vocal issues.

“Rihanna’s doctor put her on vocal rest for 48 hours because she was at risk”

Nearly an hour and a half into the ceremony, Rihanna’s spokesperson released a statement to Entertainment Weekly that read: “Based on Rihanna’s examination after Grammy rehearsal today, Rihanna’s doctor put her on vocal rest for 48 hours because she was at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal cords.

4

The 46-year-old singer is currently delighting fans with her residency at The AXIS auditorium in Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas. Jennifer has so far won rave reviews for the show, thanks to its incredible dance routines, stunning costumes and her vocal stylings, but she is still wondering why she gave herself so much to do when she came up with the concept.

Kris Jenner: ‘We wouldn’t dare argue with Kanye! Kris Jenner and her family would never “dare” tell Kanye West if they didn’t like his fashion designs. The Kardashian and Jenner family united at Kanye’s recent Yeezy Season 3 New York Fashion Week show, with all members of the clan wearing items Kanye had collaborated on with Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing. The ensembles featured a lot of deliberate ripping, nude colours and fur coats, and while Kris liked what she wore, she admits she wouldn’t have owned up even if she didn’t.

When Less = More... By: Ruvette Dirksz

We all heard about “Less is More” and at some point we all agree. We all want more, doing less – well it all comes down to the mind. I would say, the less you want... the more you have; when speaking of money. It makes perfect sense; the less you need to be happy the more you’ll have on your account.

“Minimalism is not the lack of something, but the perfect amount of something”

er Pleaseeoerdks 2 w ance! adv in

The less you want, the richer you are and the more you need to be happy the more miserable you’ll be. Happiness will not come unless we truly appreciate what we already have and how far we’ve already gotten. It isn’t what you have (money), who you are (status) or what you are doing (job) that makes you happy... It’s what you do with what you have, it’s whom you impact by being who you are and how you help others in the position in which you’re in. How many of us have so many things and still feel so empty. Have perfect amounts of what your heart desires and you’ll feel fuller and richer everyday of your life.

Listen to Ruvette’s show every weekday from 4pm to 6pm on Radio Direct 107.1fm | QOTD every day at 5:30pm | Genre: Contemporary, TOP40 Hits, International and Caribbean Sounds Ruvette Dirksz

GOWEEKLY 08 2016 COVER STORY

Hunneley Felicia has had an amazing career as a singer. Being the front man for several bands both in Curaçao and abroad, he has many hits under his belt and many accomplished successes. After years of hectic schedules and touring, he has returned to reside in Curaçao and turn it down a notch. Go Weekly caught up with Hunneley and discussed his music career and his (surprising) plans for the future. Text: Hayson Nicholls | Photography: Nestor G. Zavarce

The world of

Hunneley Felicia Describe your music career to us. ‘I have been active in the music scene since I was 15 years old. I first started with a rap group called Cats Tribe. After Cats Tribe I sang in a band for a short period of time before moving to the Netherlands. I put music aside for a while to focus on my education. One day I met a few of my old bandmates and they asked me to join them in a band, which is how Q-sign came to life. I stayed in that band for 10 years before forming my own band - D’verse and later HnLY Music.’

How did you discover that you had a talent for singing? ‘From very early on in my life I loved doing playback. My favorite

8

music to playback was mariachi, especially songs by Pedro Infante. I didn’t see myself as a singer back then. I played a little keyboard then switched to the ukulele, the only instrument I truly mastered. I also played several percussion instruments. I played congas in my school band. During one of the training sessions I sat behind a keyboard and started playing and singing. When I looked up I realized that everybody was looking at me. Some told me that they never knew that I could sing and that I should do something with singing. When a friend of mine became ill before a singing contest

at school, I replaced him and finished in second place. This is how my singing career started.’

What would we find on your MP3 player? ‘It would be empty. I might listen to a few songs of different genres for inspiration, but when I am not making music I am not listening to anything.’

You are currently guest starring in a few bands, would you like to have a band of your own? ‘Not anymore. A few years back I would’ve said yes, but I am not in the same space anymore. D’verse was my own band, HnLY Music also, so I know what it is to be a bandleader. Right now I don’t feel the need to have my own band.’

Is there anything that happened in your musical career that stands out? ‘My own show at Kleine Werf is certainly one of the most memorable events in my whole career.’

COVER STORY GOWEEKLY 08 2016

“I want to diversify instead of staying on one path” What do you do in your free time?

‘I used to draw and paint a lot. I still do some graphic design once in a while. I also dedicate much of my free time to my family because I have a hectic schedule. Something that many people don’t know about me is that I love interior design and remodeling.’ Are there any artists that you want to collaborate with in the near future? ‘I have worked with many people throughout my career and I have some projects I am working on with some of my favorite artists like Levy Silvanie and NSTPLY’

What does the future hold for Hunneley? ‘I am aware that I am getting older and that I have to make way for the younger generation that is coming up. A great example is my friend TSean. He is doing amazing things in music. I am brainstorming on how to stay in the music business, but on a different level. Maybe composing and singing more ballads in order to stay relevant when I get older. I can’t be singing ritmo kombina all my life. I want to diversify instead of staying on one path.’

CAMPO ALEGRE CURACAO

When you enter Kontiki Beach Resort you are immediately welcomed by nature’s beauty. I was surrounded by lovely, tropical plants and trees which instantly gave me this zen feeling. There are separate natural pools available for each house that is divided in 4 separate rooms, so I didn’t even have to share the pool with everyone else, how exclusive!

Perfect location Now the festivities are over, it’s time to recharge ourselves and spoil our mental and physical health. Kontiki Beach Resort’s exclusiveness provides the perfect location for a moment of rest and perhaps some meditation. Oh, and the beach is around the corner, so if you’re in need of a nice restaurant (or a relaxing massage), it’s right there. I had the most splendid time at the resort, now it’s your turn to experience real luxury life on Curaçao!
