GOWEEKLY 12 2016 HOROSCOPE

TAURUS

April, 21 - May 20 Communication problems might arise on the job. Perhaps a co-worker is in a bad mood and unreceptive to anything you say. Or perhaps the phones are out or the computers down. This could prove frustrating and might interfere with relations among staff members.

GEMINI

Famous Aries

Elton John Born: March 25, 1947

ARIES

March, 21 - April, 19 Conflict between your responsibilities at home and career obligations, particularly those involving partners, could pose a problem. The problem isn’t insurmountable, but does call for honest, open communication among all parties involved. You won’t be happy at having to make a choice, and may find the two duties difficult to balance right now. Give it your best. By tomorrow things should be back to normal. Wellness You are well acquainted with energy and you are going to get a big - enormous - extra helping of it with planetary alignment. It’s important to drink a lot of water and exercise regularly, to both soothe and process this fiery energy. The benefit will be apparent to others, and you can expect to hear a lot of compliments on your radiant skin, your upbeat mood and your overall exuberance.

2

LIBRA

September, 23 - October, 22 Work could be a real drag Libra. You might be expected to put in more hours than normal. Your heart isn’t in it right now. You have interests of your own that you’d rather pursue, plus you could be planning to get together with friends or your partner later.

May, 21 - June 20 A project that you’ve worked on for a long time could bring some money your way. Don’t be too disappointed if you don’t have it in your hands. There might be a short delay of some kind, perhaps due to problems with the mail service. You might be turning your thoughts now to new projects.

SCORPIO

CANCER

SAGITTARIUS

June, 21 - July, 22 Relationships with others are important to you. As a result, you’ve learned to be polite and congenial. Social engagements could give you a chance to use your people skills. You could not only make some new friends but also valuable contacts.

“You may get a chance to make some extra money” CAPRICORN -

LEO

July, 23 - August, 22 A powerful sense of inspiration could come from within. You might want to write down your thoughts or draw the pictures that pop into your head. However, social obligations, possibly parties or visits, could interfere with putting your ideas on paper.

VIRGO

August, 23 - September, 22 Group activities could take up a lot of your time and energy. Your career concerns are very much on your mind, and you don’t like being distracted from them. Nonetheless, these activities, not to mention your family, are important to you, and you’ll find a way to squeeze them in even though it’s frustrating.

October, 23 - November, 22 Your body and soul might seem out of balance . A part of you may long to break from society and live a more spiritual life, but worldly responsibilities and an attachment to your current lifestyle could get in your way. These things don’t happen overnight. November, 23 - December, 21 Strain within a group that you’re associated with could be traced to money problems. Perhaps people are disagreeing over what needs to be done regarding fundraising or budgetary limitations. It’s best to divorce yourself from this sort of thing if possible.

CAPRICORN

November, 22 - January, 20 You may get a chance to make some extra money, perhaps by working overtime. However, this might interfere with a social event that you’ve committed to, and could cause disappointment among your friends and family members. It could also give rise to a little trouble with your partner.

AQUARIUS

January, 21 - February, 20 Although it looks as if the next few months should shape up to be a great time for your career, unfortunately it might appear hopeless. Mundane, routine, unrewarding tasks could take up a lot of your time on the job.

PISCES

February, 21 - March, 20 Your heart is longing for a romantic encounter and the partner in your life is more than willing to accommodate you. Nonetheless, circumstances beyond your control could interfere with your plans, and you might not be able to make contact.

GOWEEKLY 12 2016 ENTERTAINMENT

Taylor Swift helps to open children's hospital studio Taylor Swift surprised sick fans on Friday by helping to open a new children's hospital studio in Nashville, Tennessee. The Blank Space singer joined U.S. radio and TV presenter Ryan Seacrest to launch his foundation's new state-of-the art media centre for kids at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, and the youngsters couldn't contain their excitement at the appearance of the pop superstar.

Mariah Carey: "Reality show is annoying" Adam Lambert and Sam Smith on a night out

Adam Lambert shuts down Sam Smith dating rumours Reports suggest the openly gay singers have been secretly hooking up for weeks, but 34 year old Adam insists the hearsay couldn't be further from the truth. “We bumped into each other at a club in New York a couple of weeks ago and had few drinks with our friends," he recalled during an interview with U.S. radio DJ Ryan Seacrest. "We’re laughing and taking pictures and all of a sudden… who knows what!” Adam posted a photo of himself and Sam striking a pose on Instagram last week and although the stars may have appeared sexy and seductive in the 'selfie', with the Brit resting his chin on the Queen singer's shoulder, Lambert insists the pair wasn't trying to make a relationship statement.

Mariah Carey isn't enjoying her reality TV experience but she knows fans will love it. The singer confirmed on Tuesday she would be taking part in her own docu-series for E! and while she is excited for fans to see what goes on behind the scenes of her current Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour, it has been hard to let go of her privacy. "I am a private person," she told Britain's Sunday Times Style magazine. "It's a big thing for me. Yes, it's annoying. I wanted to document this tour because I don't know when I am going to tour again. I wish I could have documented other tours. I am doing it for the fans - they'll love it."

Singer Adam Lambert has laughed off rumours he is dating fellow pop star Sam Smith.

“It’s impossible to have ‘oomph’ if you don’t have a get-up-and-go attitude”

If everything is a hassle, if you have to take deep breaths of agitation constantly and when doing so you lower the energy of everyone around you, then no… you don’t have oomph! Your whole body language contributes to your oomph. It’s impossible to have ‘oomph’ if you don’t have a get-up-and-go attitude. Sitting at the sidelines of life and waiting for ‘some good’ to fall on your lap is the common attitude of a person without oomph. Some people have the kind of vigor, which makes you want to get up and ‘juice’ all of what life has to offer- be around them. If you today, recognize you lack oomph- then that is the first step to getting it. Have some ‘brio’!

GOWEEKLY 12 2016 COVER STORY

Michael Lampe aka Original Fellow is a music producer, entrepreneur and art lover who was born and raised in Aruba. In his role as a music producer he has many hits under his belt, including some with Aruban superstar Janiro Eisden (AtaNiro) and Ritmo Real. Text: Hayson Nicholls | Photography: Selwyn de Wind

Michael Lampe: The Original Fellow Currently living in Amsterdam, Fellow still manages to inspire and motivate the youth back home. He recently opened an art studio called BEAM in Aruba and was a guest speaker at the TEDx Curaçao event. Go Weekly sat down with this multi-talented artist to elaborate on his career and future endeavors.

Tell us about Michael Lampe. "I was born and raised in Aruba. I’m currently living in Amsterdam. I

8

work under the alias Original Fellow. I also have a project called Datapanik. I produce for different artists, I’m a DJ and I work in the creative/ artistic sector."

How did you come up with the alias (Original) Fellow? "I was looking for an artistic name to promote myself and the name Fellow popped up. Fellow stands for friend or brother. I am your fellow when I work with you and when we hang out."

COVER STORY GOWEEKLY 12 2016

"As a DJ/producer I categorize my music as electronic with Caribbean flavors. Or as I call it 'Island driven music'. We have so many influences on the islands in regards to music. That is what makes our own music so rich and diverse. The diversity is an inspiration for me when I make music."

“Fellow stands for friend or brother. I am your fellow when I work with you and when we hang out.” What type of music do you listen to?

"I listen to many types of music. As I said before, we are blessed to have so many music influences on the island, but I also love to listen to music that is not mainstream. I often seek new, non-commercial music for inspiration. The challenge for a DJ is, to give the audience something they can understand yet still be innovative and new."

How do you get inspired to produce a certain track? "It comes from different things. When I work with vocalists, I write something that I know would fit their style, but still takes them a bit out of their

comfort zone. Inspiration also comes from the things around me and from past and present experiences."

Do you have artist that you still want to collaborate with? "I have many people I still want to work with. From producers to vocalists. I keep an eye on what’s hot on the islands. I am currently working with local artists like Ori, AtaNiro, Immo and Jamaican dancehall artist Cecile. I have a long list of international artists I would love to work with in the future."

Check out more about Fe llow, Datapanik and BEAM on Face book, Youtube and Instagram.

You recently opened BEAM in Aruba. What is it about? "I felt that there was a need for a creative platform on the island. BEAM is a creative center where different artists can expose their art and creativity, whether it is music, dance, painting, poetry etc. It is open to every discipline in the art field. We also give workshops and lectures. We want to inspire people to be creative."

What are the future plans for Fellow? "Besides producing, DJing and BEAM, I will soon travel to Bogota, Colombia. I was invited by the Dutch embassy to participate in an artistic exchange between international and local artists. I will soon release an album called ‘Island Driven’, which will feature the artists I mentioned previously, but also AtaNiro and others. Like the title says, it is very island driven and influenced by the sounds of the region. I also have a new Datapanik project and a tour coming up."

Hidden hotspot Dog adventure This outlying beach is mostly fancied by dog owners. They like to take their doggies for a walk out there so they can not only stretch their paws, but take a plunge in the water too. It’s the perfect spot where the owner can have some rest, and the dog live wildly.

Secrecy Isn’t a bit of secrecy something we all long after at some time? Because the beach isn’t well-known and therefore very quiet, I find it to be a great spot for meditation/yoga or a romantic walk. I mean, who can really find their inner selves or have some lover time while being surrounded by a crowd? Exactly. So grab your yoga gear, take out your lover, or walk your dog at this awesome new (hidden) hotspot!

For quite some time now, Vipkidz Eventz has been organizing amazing events, for kids between the ages of 2 and 16, in The Netherlands. It all started with a lack of diversity in kids’ entertainment. Events for kids to enjoy with their peers were almost nonexistent. Roos Maduro and Deibys Perez realized that this was also the case in Curaçao, so they have

Ten years ago, Gassan Dannawi, backed by a team of professionals started Star Academy, which organizes talent search shows like Curastars Voice and Curastars Stra Chikí.

On April 2nd 2016, VipkidzEventz will team up with Curastars to celebrate their 10th anniversary with an amazing event called ‘GLOWLAND’ at Cabana Beach Curaçao. To make this an unforgettable night, the organization has invited two of the hottest groups from The Netherlands, ‘Broederliefde’ and ‘B-Brave’ to perform here. Together with DJ Maarten Schakel and host Morgan Isenia they will make it a night to remember. The boys from B-Brave sat down with GoWeekly for a short interview.

16

“We had been brainstorming for a long time when we came up with Be Brave, which we eventually changed to ‘B-Brave’. Everybody agreed that this was the name that suited us best.”

You guys are winning awards left and right. How does that feel? “Winning awards is always great; it shows that your fans and the industry appreciate what you are doing. It’s an incredible feeling. We wouldn’t be anywhere without our fans.”

How did your lives change after X-Factor? “We remain as down to earth as we were before participating on X-Factor. We go to school, we perform and we travel.”

Have you been to Curaçao before? “Kaj is the only one that has been to Curaçao. Cas Abou Beach was his favorite spot.” Catch all the boys in Curaçao on April 2nd.
