GOWEEKLY 35 2016 HOROSCOPE
ARIES
March, 21 - April, 19 Your emotions could be extra powerful, although something may not feel as if it's sitting right. It could be a feeling of manipulation. Perhaps you've misjudged someone else's sensitivity and now they're working to get back at you in a subtle yet harmful way.
TAURUS
Famous Virgo
Tahnee Jane MuĂąoz Born: September 2, 1987
April, 20 - May, 20 You'll find a great deal of power and dynamism in the air urging you to take the adventurous route. There's no need to hold back. The door is open and waiting for you to take the leap of faith to the other side. Don't even worry about consequences now.
GEMINI
May, 21 - June, 20 There's a fiery tone to the day that can't be ignored. You may find that adjustments need to be made in your own plan of attack in order to get on the same page with other people. Don't worry if things don't go according to your plans. In fact, the best route to take is the one that wasn't even planned.
CANCER VIRGO
August, 23 - September, 22 Feel free to be your usual jolly self, the one who adds humor to the group. Your laughter will be appreciated. Come into the forefront. Bring things up to your level and you'll find that others willingly join you there. Wellness Give into your desire to exercise! You will feel the pull right now to get to the gym or get out of the house for refreshing walks or runs, and it's important to seize these urges and act upon them. Your body is crying out for energy renewal. And let's face it, you have to spend energy in order to get energy. You may also want to consider doing yoga or other stretching and deep breathing exercises. You will notice a rise in energy and a rise in your spirit!
2
June, 21 - July, 22 There's an extra spark in your eye that people won't be able to ignore. Speak with confidence and you'll go far. It's important for you to say what you feel. If you don't, others will find reasons to walk all over you.
LEO
July, 23 - August, 22 Take yourself on a mental adventure in which you explore new aspects of your world. Discuss philosophy and religion. Get to the core of a matter that seriously interests you. Now is a good time to consider taking classes or engaging in some form of higher learning.
LIBRA
September, 23 - October, 22 Be careful that you aren't acting in a way that you dislike in others. You could find that you're slowly taking on the traits of the people you despise. Lighten up a bit and put a smile on your face. If you continue to see the negative side of everything, it's likely that other people will only see the negative side of you.
SCORPIO
October, 23 - November, 22 There's no need to fixate on the negative. Keep things light and upbeat and worry about the consequences later. This is the time to be adventurous and explore. Don't let anyone else tell you how to run your show. You have a strong will and strong opinions, so don't be afraid to express either.
"Speak with confidence and you'll go far." CANCER -
SAGITTARIUS
November, 23 - December, 21 You may need a translator to get through to people. It could be hard to make decisions, but not impossible. Today's tip is to err on the side of adventure. Trust that good luck will pull you through if you take risks. You may feel unappreciated.
CAPRICORN
December, 22 - January, 19 Use your power resources as you have a great deal of dynamic energy at your disposal. You have the ability to transform and conquer anything now. Note that your spirit of adventure is apt to be more acute than normal.
AQUARIUS
January, 20 - February, 18 You could be asked to make some spontaneous decisions that you might not feel entirely comfortable making. You could feel you don't have enough facts to make an educated decision about what to do next. Realize that sometimes it's necessary to bite the bullet and make the best choice based on the knowledge you have.
PISCES
February, 19 - March, 20 Emotionally, you may feel as if you're running up against a brick wall. It could be that your first reaction is to drown your sorrows in drink. Escapism is only a temporary remedy. If things slam in your face use this as an indication that you need to take necessary action.

Superstar Juan Gabriel dies at 66
The world has lost a great singer. Alberto Aguilera Valadez, better known as Juan Gabriel has died at the age of 66 from a heart attack. He was on tour at the time of his death. “A voice and talent that represented Mexico,” Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto wrote of Gabriel on Twitter. “His music is a legacy for the world.” Juan Gabriel was known for his epic stage performances, where he was often accompanied by an orchestra, dancers and dozens of mariachis dressed in tight jackets and sombreros. Latin music has sure lost one of its greatest. Rest in peace Juan Gabriel. You will be missed.

Tula Museum When visiting Kenepa beach it’s definitely worthwhile to make a stop at Landhuis Knip. Here you will find the Tula Museum, which is an exhibition of Afro-Caribbean traditions. So why is this museum so special? By: Shari Jourdain
Pay MONTHLY. No extra charge.
History The museum is named after Tula, the slave who led the revolt in 1795. He worked, and lived at the Kenepa plantation, and is now considered a hero by the Curaçaoan people. At the museum you will learn about, and see what life was like on Curaçao during slavery, and shortly thereafter. It is very impressive to stand in rooms that were built more than 200 years ago, and to see the objects that were used on a daily basis. Culture You will be surprised how much African customs have influenced our culture, and current lifestyle. From food to clothing, and music! Speaking of music, did you know that Tambú was created by the slaves to keep their sense of happiness during hard labor? I feel enriched now that I have more knowledge about this beautiful island!

GOWEEKLY 35 2016 COVER STORY
Fundashon Desaroyo Deportivo Kòrsou (FDDK) has joined forces with the Curaçao Media Organization (CMO), various artists, and Curaçaoan sporters to work towards a common goal to raise 1 million guilders, within 12 hours, on September 17th 2016, to improve the Sentro Deportivo Kòrsou (SDK). For this amazing Sport-o-ton, we at Go Weekly sat down with Thakaidzwa Doran, the Managing Director at the Fundashon Desaroyo Deportivo Kòrsou, to get some inside information on this Sport-o-ton, and the visionary plan, to create a Sentro Deportivo Kòrsou, that we can all be proud of.

Thakaidzwa, you are the Managing Director of FDDK, and you tackle these projects with a passion and dedication, we rarely see. Could you please tell us a bit about your background, and how you got to where you are today?
because the system they had in place didn’t suit me. My next job was as a local market coordinator for Curoil, and after about a year I saw a job vacancy for my current position. For the past 1,5 years, I have been the Managing Director of the FDDK."
"After returning back to Curaçao from The Netherlands in 2008, where I studied Sport Management, I discovered that there were not a lot of sport managers on the island. That’s the reason why I try to bring professionalism into the sporting structure we currently have here. When I returned, I worked for 1,5 years as a PE teacher, which is not what I studied for. Following that, I got a job at Sedreko in the sports and recreation department. I departed after 3 years,
"We have accomplished a lot with the teams of managers and colleagues, and it has been a bit of a challenge, because you have 2 different foundations, which have their own culture for over 30 years already. An entirely new organization needed to be set up to provide the proper services. I am extremely proud of it, and bit-by-bit, we will keep on growing. My main goal is to provide every young person on Curaçao with the opportunity to be able to practice sport."
How did you come up with the idea to organize a Sporto-ton to raise 1 million guilders for SDK? "I can’t sit around, and wait for things to happen. I like to tackle things head on. We will be hosting several large events at SDK, like international soccer games from FIFA, ‘’Summer Cool Bash Urban’’ event and the Carifta games in April 2017, which will be the largest sport event Curaçao has organized in its history. SDK is currently not in a great state, and needs to be improved. The idea to organize a Sport-o-ton to raise money for SDK was a collaboration between us, CMO, D&I, PwC, UTS, TAO, Notariskantoor Eshuis, Curaçao Cares, and a few other partners. It will be a day filled with sports for the entire press core on the island, along with compa-

nies who wish to compete against each other. SDK is a multi-use sporting arena, and our national arena. It does not only get used for sporting events, but also for other events. We want it to be in a great state, so that the people who use it, are happy with the service that it provides.''
In what state does SDK find itself, and is 1 million guilders enough to fix it up?
For more info follow us on Facebook: 1Mion Pa Un Mihó SDK
''1 million guilders, is not enough to fix up the entire stadium, but it’s a step in the right direction. The backlog of work that has to be done, has been estimated at 4 million guilders, but we
hó SDK will be completing the work in phases. With government subsidies, we can keep on making improvements on a yearly basis. SDK is 37 years old, and it hasn’t truly “deformed”, but we need to make improvements, so that everyone can keep on using the facilities and enjoy a better service. If it is in a better state, it can generate more income, and more events can be hosted there. But with the 1 million we will revamp the locker rooms, Stadium roof, install stadium seats, certify the track and field surface and beautify the stadium with a new color."
What is the program for the Sport-o-ton day, and what can we expect? "The Sport-o-ton '1 Mion pa un mihó SDK' will take place on September 17th from 8 am till 8 pm, and we will
have 20 telephone lines for people to call, and make a donation. We will broadcast it live, and individuals in The Netherlands can also follow the broadcast and make a donation. The Curaçao press core, and give-or-take 20 other companies will be competing against each other. The day will also act as a team building exercise for all involved. There will be performances by various artists, sports, and a lot of different activities. People can partake in an adapted version of softball, relay races, egg-and-spoon races, potato sack races, and lots of other fun stuff, besides the regular sports such as soccer. Through this event, we would like to raise 1 million guilders, to transform SDK into a gem for the sporting, recreation, and entertainment communities, on an international level."

Walking and talking within one month and self-sufficient after just six, her rapid progression is remarkable, exceeding the expectations of her creators. ADVERTORIAL GOWEEKLY 35 2016
Never give up
on your dreams 'Lala goes to the land far away from here' is based on the true story of Valerie Parisius who has been traveling around the world since 2011. Inner child This book makes you see Valerie's travels through the wondrous eyes of her inner child Lala. Meet the magical friends Lala makes along the way that take her one step closer to find her treasure. It's a story about courage, following your bliss, trust and joy that teaches us never to give up on our dreams in our one and only precious life.
Traditional craftsmanship It’s a one of a kind book inspired by traditional craftsmanship. Every book is uniquely hand binded and made with love. A colorful pattern of stitches on the spine and different textures of paper gives a personal touch to this beautiful book.
Crowdfunding This wonderful book will be available for purchase if at least 210,000 is pledged by September 5, 2016 for Valerie's Crowdfunding Project. Go to www.lalasbook.com to find out how you can help. www.lalasbook.com
