ARIES

VB

March, 21 - April, 19 You generally tend to be sensitive and intuitive, but you might be even more so. Reading about people from other places and times might cause you to tune into their thoughts and feelings and receive new insight into human nature. Creative projects, particularly writing, benefit from this.

TAURUS

Famous Libra

Kim Kardashian Born: October 21, 1980

LIBRA

September, 23 - October, 22 Some stimulating discussions could take place. Your energy is likely to be very high. You may want to throw yourself into your work, particularly if it involves paperwork. You might also want to go for a workout, try your hand at writing, or read about the latest discoveries concerning optimal health. Books, magazines, and the Internet could prove especially useful.

WELLNESS A "hot under the collar" feeling might plague you. Working out your own health regimen is very challenging. There is an initial phase of voices inside the head saying things like, "Feed me ice cream or I will hate you!" and, "I'm too tired to exercise!" With practice you will learn to calm them down with, "You will feel better and it won't take that long!" and, "I'd rather you eat this fruit salad with fresh raspberry sauce." Yum!

2

April, 20 - May, 20 A group meeting or social event could bring up so many new and interesting ideas that you may not be able to digest them all. Some new friends who share your interests might want to continue the discussions. Your mind is especially quick. You could well grasp unusual concepts that usually don't interest you.

GEMINI

May, 21 - June, 20 A lot of paperwork might need attention. You might throw a lot of your focus and energy into getting it all done. Stimulating conversations with colleagues could keep your mind occupied so you avoid boredom.

VIRGO

August, 23 - September, 22 Stimulating conversations could take place with partners of all sorts, from business to exercise to romantic. Some new and useful information could come your way that you will want to explore further.

SCORPIO

October, 23 - November, 22 You might decide to do some writing. This could be job related, but it's more likely personal, either correspondence with friends and colleagues or creative. Some stimulating discussion could take place with friends, romantic partners, or children that could set your mind buzzing with new ideas.

SAGITTARIUS

November, 23 - December, 21 Some people who share your interests could visit your home. You might want to take a walk or otherwise exercise together, but you will probably get into some stimulating debates. Don't be surprised if everyone talks at once! New books that you will want to read could come to your attention.

CAPRICORN

"you will want to explore further" VIRGO -

CANCER

June, 21 - July, 22 Expanding your mind could be of interest. You might decide to travel to a place you've always wanted to visit. Or you could decide to go back to school for an advanced degree. Either way, you're likely to spend the day considering the idea and doing a lot of research.

LEO

July, 23 - August, 22 You tend to be interested in what makes everything tick, from the human mind to the workings of the Universe to religion. That interest could be piqued by something you read or hear. You might want to delve into a field of interest and learn whatever you can about it.

December, 22 - January, 19 Your mind will be especially quick and active, and you're likely to want to spend much of the day involved in intellectual activities like reading, writing, or teaching. Communication with others should be a powerful part of your day, so you will probably spend time on the phone.

AQUARIUS

January, 20 - February, 18 You might decide to tackle your financial paperwork and get it all done. This is a great day for that, although you might be a little too ambitious and not get as much done as you'd like. This is a good time to make use of any writing talent, because ideas could be coming to you thick and fast.

PISCES

February, 19 - March, 20 Your mind is usually quick, agile, and hungry for information. Your curiosity is high and you could go to unusual lengths to satisfy it. You might also feel particularly energetic and want to go for a workout. This is a good idea.

GOWEEKLY 42 2016 ENTERTAINMENT

LEVI SILVANIE DEBUT NEW SONG ON DUTCH NATIONAL TV On October 13, Levi Silvanie launched his new song ‘’Take Flight” on Dutch Television during the last Dino Show of this season. The viewer’s audience was bigger than ever. Levi Silvanie wrote “Take Flight” 4 years ago, as a personal journey through his fears and aspirations. “This song pushes me to live my dreams”, the popular singer/songwriter explains. “I have been working on the production of ‘Take Flight’ in beautiful Sweden, and when Jandino heard the song, he insisted that we release the song on his show”. Levi is currently touring with Jandino, as a surprise/support act during his newest show starring Judeska ”Van Je Familie Moet je Het Hebben”. The tour consists of 40 shows in the Netherlands, and will end with a grand finale show in the Heineken Music Hall. Follow Levi on social media: Snapchat (@levisilvanie) and Instagram (@levi.silvanie). ‘Take Flight’ is available on iTunes, Spotify and Youtube.

Zayn Malik X Versace Zayn Malik can now add Fashion Designer to his resume. After creating a men's footwear range for Giuseppe Zanotti earlier this year, Zayn clearly caught the design bug and is diving head first into this major project: Creative Director of Versus Versace; Donatella Versace's more rock n' roll secondary line. The singer announced the news on his Twitter account with a preview video featuring the Versace lion and the name of the forthcoming collaboration, Zayn X Versus. The capsule collection will be available in May 2017.

In a recent interview, X Factor UK judge Louis Walsh got real about the future of Simon Cowell's most prolific protégés… One Direction! The judge said to Dailymail.com that 1D was doomed from the start because their quick rise to fame turned them into "monsters." But that's not the worst part! Walsh also claimed that the boys' superstar success as a group was giving them false hope for solo careers. He explained: "Too much money, too much success too quickly. Simon created monsters and that was it. They all think they're going to be solo stars. They're not.” Ouch!!

Beach Located at Vaersenbaai, Kokomo provides what any beach should offer: a nice and relaxing time. But did you know it’s also perfect for diving and snorkeling? They even have a professional dive center to help you discover the reefs and fishes. Although I absolutely adore snorkeling, I love to just relax with an ‘awa di lamunchi’ in my hand.

GOWEEKLY 42 2016 COVER STORY

Juni Juliet Juni Juliet is back on the island after 3 years, during which he’s been doing what he loves, performing. Juni Juliet is a well-known singer, pianist, and entertainer who started his career when he was only 7 years old. He played the mandolin, and soon became a TV star. Juni later travelled with his 4 brothers through SouthAmerica performing in children’s programs under the name Tipico Juliet. He started singing when he was 11, and by that time, he could already play 6 instruments. In 1977 Juni decided to go solo and since then, he’s been very active, performing in more than 15 countries. Juni always knows how to turn every event and party into a spectacular and unforgettable show. Curaçao is glad to have him back and we are ready for more from the one and only, Juni Juliet! Editor: Sendeliz Gibbes | Photography: Jimmy James

Juni, welcome back on dushi Kòrsou! What did you do during your time abroad? Thank you. Well, I went to Sweden and the Netherlands. The Netherlands was my “home base”. I performed on cruise ships and in different

8

places throughout Europe. In the Netherlands, I worked as the musical director on Jörgen Raymann’s show, RAYMANN! for one season. Last year I went to New Orleans to perform, which was a wonderful experience for me as a musician. That’s what I did for

the past 3 years. After that, it seemed like the challenges dried up. There were however a lot of memorable experiences, such as the RAYMANN! show, New Orleans, and the Golden Orpheus festival in Bulgaria, where I won “Best Performer” in 1990.

COVER STORY GOWEEKLY 42 2016

Why did you make the decision to go back to perform abroad for an extended period? Well, I felt like I had a little more to give. You know, that’s the ego you have as an artist, that Curaçao has become small again. I wanted to do more. I was craving a new challenge and I wanted to close that ‘’searching’’ chapter in me. So, that’s why I went back to Sweden and to Tromsø, Norway, where it all started. I’ve lived in Norway for 20 years. That’s where I got my first contract.

How did you experience your time abroad and what are the advantages and disadvantages compared to performing in Curaçao? You can’t compare them. In Curaçao, I perform for the people who are here on vacation and for the locals. It’s a different setting. When I’m abroad, I perform for a new public every night. They don’t know you,

you don’t know them. You can say that it’s safer here, because you know your audience, and there, it’s a new challenge every day. They have more respect for artists abroad. For example, here in Curaçao, it’s like they are afraid to ask for an entrance fee. Every show is free. It’s not supposed to be like that. Over there, they pay to see you perform.

Now that you are back on the island, do you have any current or future projects? What would challenge you at the moment? I've started with my own concept, which is called 'Live Entertainment'. This is a great challenge for me. I will be bringing international artists and colleagues who I've worked with abroad, to perform here in Curaçao. 'Live Entertainment' has already had its start at Fuoco (which later will be called ‘RED’) on October 5th, but we will officially launch in November. From Thursday to Sunday we will have different pianists performing. I will

be performing every Wednesday here too. We are also planning an open mic evening, where anyone can come and sing. Every Monday, I will be performing during the happy hour (Monday Afterwork) at Floris Suite, Thursday at Omundo, and on Saturday at Madero. Sometimes I perform on Friday at Shore (Sta. Barbara Beach Resort). Besides all this, I'm currently working on a singing waitstaff concept to perform at ‘RED’. I’m also starting my own agency, to represent local artists. Stay tuned, because I'm working hard to bring more interesting concepts to Curaçao! If you are interested in becoming a member of the singing waitstaff, please contact Juni Juliet at: 682-2526 or 512-2526. GOWEEKLY 42 2016 LIFESTYLE

HOLLYWOOD SMILE Your teeth are one of the first things people notice. They are a sign of health as well as confidence. Who doesn’t want to have a beautiful smile with white sparkling teeth? The good news is we have five home remedies to naturally whiten teeth. Editor: Charlysen Jansen

1. Brush after drinking or eating The best way, but not always the easiest is to simply brush your teeth after eating or drinking something. Most food does not stain teeth, but if you are a coffee drinker or if you smoke, you can pretty much count on having discolored teeth from staining.

2. Baking soda and lemon juice paste Mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply.

3. Strawberry, salt + baking soda scrub Strawberries are high in Vitamin C, which can help breakdown plaque that is causing your teeth to look yellow. It also has an enzyme called malic acid, which may help to remove surface stains. The salt acts as an abrasive portion of the paste, physically scrubbing away staincausing gunk, and the baking soda is an extra touch that you can choose to leave out if you’d prefer.

20

5. Apple cider vinegar 4. Coconut oil rinse In the morning, before you brush your teeth, scoop out a tablespoon or a little less (depending on the size of your mouth) of coconut oil. You can either soften it, or just put it in your mouth. Push, swish, and “pull” the oil through and around your teeth for 10-15 minutes, then spit it out, rinse with water, and brush your teeth.

It makes sense that apple cider vinegar would eventually work as a mouth gum cleaner and remove stubborn stains on the teeth, espcially from coffee and nicotine. It has been proven that it does work as a natural teeth whitener but you have to be consistent and it takes a least a month of continuous usage to see results.
