GOWEEKLY 43 2016 HOROSCOPE

ARIES

VB

March, 21 - April, 19 You might feel like you're getting worked up from all angles. Find comfort in knowing that things will definitely improve. You might get the feeling that somehow you're all alone despite the circle of friends that surrounds and loves you. You may be called to action by a strong force.

TAURUS

Famous Libra

Bill Gates

GEMINI

November, 23 - December, 21 Make sure your opinion doesn't get lost in the frenzy. Your words may not quite fit with the things that people want to hear. Try not to take this personally. Realize that this isn't an indication that your words are any less important.

WELLNESS

"Inspire others to put away their differences"

You probably feel like playing these days... and play is something you happen to excel at. It is already common knowledge that you are a passionate being, and astral configuration brings out that passionate energy even stronger. Practicing safe sex is probably one of the biggest health concerns out there. Protect yourself and your partner, so that you can stay "negative" - and have a great time doing it!

2

LIBRA

SCORPIO

October, 23 - November, 22 You may know exactly the right thing to do, but for some reason, the action required may be a hard thing for you to implement. Take an active role to get involved. Say your peace, but don't get so attached to the results that you get upset and discouraged if things don't exactly work out according to plan. Independence is an important virtue to hold.

August, 23 - September, 22 Peace and harmony are in the regularly scheduled program, but there is a good chance that there could be a warring force with strong opinions and vindictive tendencies. Hold onto your hat, and make sure you have your actions well aligned with your soul or else you could be thrown into a battle that has nothing to do with you.

April, 20 - May, 20 Try to rise above the potential tension and rough spots. Do yourself a favor and don't feel like you have to stoop to another's level. Take pride in your actions and do things with confidence. Work with the negativity. The worst thing to do would be to ignore it. Approach problems squarely as soon as they arise. May, 21 - June, 20 Align yourself with partners and allies who share your views. Try to keep the disagreements to a minimum. There is enough tension and war raging in the world around you that you don't need to add to the negative force by contributing disputes and ailments to the situation.

Born: October 28, 1955

VIRGO

AQUARIUS -

CANCER

September, 23 - October, 22 “I told you so might be your motto. Try not to rub this in other people's faces. Indeed, you have the foresight to witness an action and see the consequences right away. These consequences might rear their ugly heads.

SAGITTARIUS

CAPRICORN

December, 22 - January, 19 You have two choices. Either jump into the thick of the mess with both feet or stay out of it altogether. There are definitely two distinct camps setting up their arsenals for battle. Realize that there is also a soft, tender, harmonious aspect that just wants peace.

AQUARIUS

June, 21 - July, 22 Try not to let other people's disagreements bring you down. Take the high ground and you will certainly prevail. A peaceful nature is extremely important in order to balance the anger and hostility that's present all around. Be the one to promote this harmony.

January, 20 - February, 18 You may end up being the peaceful savior that calms everyone down. Use your artistic nature and love of beauty and harmony to inspire others to put away their differences and concentrate on the positive aspects.

LEO

February, 19 - March, 20 Your unique ability to communicate with many different groups and personalities will be extremely important to maintaining a bridge between warring camps. Keep things moving and try not to let the situation stagnate on any one issue. If the conversation turns to raging and ranting, it's in your best interests to stop it right away.

July, 23 - August, 22 Arena is one in which you can find a great deal of material. There will be no shortage of energy to work with or opinions coming from you. Realize that your words have a greater potency about them as people become more intent on uncovering the truth. Apply yourself to peace and cooperation among groups.

Jay Z makes history with Songwriters Hall of Fame nomination

Nicki Minaj says Meek Mill's beefs are good publicity Nicki Minaj broke her silence on Meek Mill’s recent string of beefs with other artists. She says she doesn’t get involved in the “rap battle” side of Meek’s music and that the recent situation is “pretty played out.” But she does understand why he reacted when put against the wall and admits that all the headlines and publicity, albeit somewhat negative, only serve as a strong platform for Meek to release new music, especially with Dreamchasers 4 looming.

COVER STORY GOWEEKLY 43 2016

Who is Reshine? I was born on April 25th, 1987 in Curaçao. I moved to the Netherlands to live with my father, and for school. I also went for the opportunity to play football at a higher level. Before I moved to the Netherlands, I used to play for the Victory Boys.

Your passion for music came after you retired from your professional football career in 2006. What made you decide to choose for music at that moment? I have loved music since I was a little boy. I grew up watching my father play several instruments. After I stopped playing football, I just wanted to keep myself busy with something positive so I could stay on the right path.

"I just wanted to keep myself busy with

something positive so I could stay on the right path"

In 2010, you released your first single, ‘Rasta su Miss’. Thereafter you started a rap group, ‘StreaNobo’, with Dayo in 2011. What made you decide to start a rap group with Dayo? I met Dayo when I moved from Lelystad to Rotterdam. We became very close friends, like brothers. We were already in a rap group in 2008 with another artist, but things didn’t work out. So from there, we decided to start on our own, and we started with ‘StreaNobo’ in 2011, which consist of Dayo and I.

In 2016 you released many hits, i.e. ‘Paranoia’, which has more than 150.000 views on YouTube. What is the message you want to bring with ‘Paranoia’ and what has inspired you to create this song? The message I want to communicate with ‘Paranoia’ is based on my own life. 2016 is a year in which a lot of things are happening. Circumstances of my life have started to make me feel paranoid; you cannot trust people anymore nowadays. You have to be conscious of the people around you, because the people you least expect can sell you out for their own glory. I just want to create awareness for all my followers to be alert and be careful of your surroundings.

Your music touches people and you have a big influence on the youth. What impact does this have on you? I personally think that it is something beautiful that so many young people are fans. As long as I am alive, I will continue singing positive tunes, if it means saving a child from doing negative things and help him stay on the right path. I am thankful to Jah, for blessing me with the talent, so I can continue to do the right thing.

What can we expect next from Reshine? Any current or future projects you are working on? I have a new song coming soon; I would like to release it in November. It is called ‘Mi tur kos’ and it is a love song in the genre of Dancehall. It is a part of the new album of the dynamic duo, Dez and I, which we have planned for release.

Also, Dayo and I are busy with the project to “welcome back” StreaNobo in 2017. Besides that, I am working on some productions that will be in English. Follow Reshine on Instagram, Youtube, Souncloud and Facebook: Reshinemusic. On Snapchat: Reshinemusic25

‘Di Tempu Den Tempu’ Fundashon Yuda Nos will turn Kleine Werf upside down with this tremendous event which will take place on October 28, 2016 with performances by Las Chicas del Can, Tsunami, Dreams and ERA! Do you remember all the hits of ‘Las Chicas del Can’? Then you can’t miss this opportunity to see them perform live and enjoy all the hits! Las Chicas Del Can was an all-female merengue group from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Originally created by pianist Belkis Concepción, several teams of female vocalists and musicians have alternately performed under the name Las Chicas del Can throughout the group's history. Originally founded in 1982 by pianist Belkis Concepción, Las Chicas del Can performed hit after hit throughout the eighties, and a great number of their singles and albums achieved gold and/or platinum status. Hits such as ‘El Negro No Puede,’ ‘La Media María,’ ‘Sukaína,’ ‘Juana la Cubana,’ ‘Culeca,’ ‘Ta' Pillao,’ ‘Fuego,’ ‘Fiebre,’ and ‘Las Pequeñas Cosas’ are now regarded merengue classics. In 1992, the group reinvented itself under the name Míriam Cruz y Las Chicas. The first year under that name, they produced a successful album entitled ‘’Nueva Vida’’ featuring a hitsong written by Juan Luis Guerra, "Te Propongo.’’ The original name was kept alive by a music industry manager who discovered a group of new and talented young ladies who would carry the torch for Las Chicas del Can and leave their own mark on merengue

music. In 1993, Michell Flores, Grissel Baez and Florángel del Villar teamed up to keep the legacy alive. Due to the situation not entirely clear among fans, the new girls were hailed as the "Monumental". They started traveling around the globe, covering the band's original repertoire with songs like "Juana la Cubana". This 2nd line-up of Las Chicas Del Can quickly became a successful act in their own right with hit tunes such as "Voy Pa'llá," "Hacer El Amor Con Otro,’ ‘Celoso,’ ‘Explosivo’ and ‘Sin Compromiso.’ To this date, the first line-up of Las Chicas Del Can which featured Míriam Cruz, Eunice Betances and Theresa Domínguez has proven to be the most successful line-up. Hurry up and go buy your ticket now! It’s almost sold out! Tickets are available at: Beep Beep, Mensings and 24 uur uit de muur. General ticket: FL 50.00 pp. VIP All-Inclusive: FL 150.00 pp.

TROLLS The tiny Trolls are to happiness what their giant neighbours the Bergens are to misery; they are the happiest creatures ever and love to laugh, sing and party. Except for Branch, who remembers that 20 years ago the Bergens celebrated Trollstice believing the taste of a troll would bring them everlasting joy. Despite Branch’s extensive preparations for survival in the event of a Bergen attack, the other Trolls are carefree and mock him for his caution and reluctance to embrace their way of life. One night, after an especially loud celebration, Branch’s worst fears are realised when a Bergen finds them and captures a number of Trolls. Princess Poppy must convince Branch that if the Troll race is to survive, he must join her on a dangerous rescue mission to the Bergen town, armed only with their magical hair and a handful of songs. GOWEEKLY 43 2016 ADVERTORIAL

BLOODAHOLIC ‘Addiction has never been so intoxicating’By: R.J. Meulens R.J. Meulens is an author born in Curaçao but who lives in the fantastic world of his mind. Periodically, he comes to Earth to share the adventures, mysteries, love and thrillers he saw. At the age of 16, he discovered that he needed to do something with his passion for storytelling. Now, 18 years later, his first book ‘Bloodaholic’ is a reality. From the age of 16, you discovered your passion for storytelling. It is after years when you were living in The Netherlands that you decided to fulfill your dream as an author. What is the reason that you did not do this sooner? In reality, I started at the age of 8 when at school I was asked to create a comic. I wanted to see if I could write something that people would like to read. But when I was 16 I felt that I had a passion for writing, so I wrote a theatrical play. After that, I took a break to gather some life experience. After I got married, I decided to pick up my passion and chose to write books. Because I had a new family and needed to focus on work, I kept postponing it until I moved to the Netherlands. There is where I finally decided to start writing.

Can you tell us about your inspiration for Bloodaholic? And why did you choose to write a dark story? Actually, it was a dream that I had. I saw the main character walking towards the forest where everything was going to happen. When I woke up, this image had me intrigued. Going through some struggles at that time, I saw they were coinciding with one another, so I merged it to the story. I didn’t want it to be too long, thus I chose to make it a novella. Suspense and mystery fascinate me. Life without mystery is boring.

What were the challenges of writing Bloodaholic? Writing a dark story on its own is challenging enough. When I am busy writing I envision everything clearly, I can feel it. And sometimes it can scare you because you are so deeply involved in it. Furthermore, what is challenging as well is to not lose myself in the story.

What are you reading now and what are you writing next? At this moment, I’m reading King & Maxwell by David Baldacci. I’m also working on some projects. There will be a sequel which will be called Bloodless. I also have a psychological thriller coming up and a long story that I wrote before Bloodaholic. Come to R.J. Meulens’ book reading at Mensing's Caminada on October 29, 2016. There will also be a chance for Q&A and Book signing. Follow R.J. You can wake me up for: Music with a dope bassline and heavy beat!

Zen moment: My ideal zen moment is sleeping with my son Raydian on my chest.

On repeat: DJ Snake ft. Justin BieberLet Me Love You

Being able to express feelings that words cannot describe (and getting paid for it).

Success habit:

I love Bonaire:

The ability to remain positive in challenging situations.

Bonaire is the most amazing place to grow up because of the tranquility! All my beautiful childhood memories and adventures have been on the island! My first contact with music, my first kiss, beautiful sunsets and of course friendships that I still have till this day.

A perfect day starts with: My morning ritual; prayer of thankfulness, a hot and cold shower, good music and a personal pep talk in the mirror.

Sting!
