Now by this I’ll overcome— Nothing but the blood of Jesus, Now by this I’ll reach my home— Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Refrain Glory! Glory! This I sing— Nothing but the blood of Jesus, All my praise for this I bring— Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Refrain
Refrain
WHEN I’VE GONE THE LAST MILE OF THE WAY
If I walk in the pathway of duty, If I work till the close of the day, I shall see the great King in His beauty, When I’ve gone the last mile of the way.
Refrain: When I’ve gone the last mile of the way, I will rest at the close of the da y; And I know there are joys that await me, When I’ve gone the last mile of the way.
Here the dearest of ties we must sever, Tears of sorrow are seen every day; But no sickness, no sighing forever, When I’ve gone the last mile of the way. And if here I have earnestly striven, And have tried all His will to obey, ’Twill enhance all the rapture of heaven, When I’ve gone the last mile of the way.
If for Christ I proclaim the glad story, If I seek for His sheep gone astray, I am sure He will show me His glory, When I’ve gone the last mile of the way.

Eulogy Agnes B. Crooks Kirkland, an amazing woman of God, was born April 2, 1927 on the island of Jamaica, West Indies, one of seven children, to the proud parents of Thomas and Myra Crooks, who instilled a love of family and God which became the foundation of her life. Married at an early age, she was the mother of eight children; Earl, Errol, Maxine, Lola, Vinnette, Roger, Marcia and Owen. She had fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Agnes is survived by her brothers Welton Crooks and Albert Crooks and her sisters Jeane White and Mae Holness. She was a soldier in God’s Army, a mother, wife, sister and friend. This strong belief brought her all the way from Jamaica to the United States in search of a better life for her family. Through many trials and tribulations, Agnes managed to relocate her entire family with the grace and favor of God. Through the years, Agnes has helped numerous people confident in the knowledge that was the will of God in her life, and she never wavered in her faith and belief in God. Agnes was truly a woman of God, a woman of virtue and a woman of integrity. Agnes had many accomplishments and honors during her life. She was a successful mother, an accomplishment she took great pride in and made much sacrifice to ensure her children’s success. She worked at several jobs and excelled in all: Basket Weaver, Cashier, Hotel Manager, Restaurateur, Nurse’s Aide, Care Giver; along the way receiving numerous awards and recognitions. Through the years, Agnes served the Lord in many capacities. She was a missionary, founding member of several churches, prayer warrior, teacher, counselor and advisor to name a few. Any role that was asked of her by her pastors, she performed to the best of her abilities. Her service in the Lord’s house began in Pastor I.U. Spence’ church in New Roads, Jamaica, where she repented and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. She was asked to accompany him to Kilmornuck, Jamaica to minister where they were successful in starting a new church. A year later, she was sent to Mandeville, Jamaica, another town to help with a new church. She continued working for the Lord and after migrating to Miami, where she joined the Pentecostal Holiness Church. She moved the family some distance from this church, so she joined another church closer to her family; United Pentecostal Church, with Pastor W. Rooks where she was an active member and missionary. Her Brother, Pastor Welton L. Crooks, joined her in Miami and she was moved again to help and start a new work for the Lord. With much labor, they started the Ebenezer Bible Way Church with the help of many others and it has now spread far and wide in the state Florida. Agnes, affectionately known as Mother Kirkland by all, spent her last years serving at Pentecostal Tabernacle International, under the leadership of Pastor Stewart. She served diligently in an area that she loved with all her heart, the ministry of Prayer, to which she remained faithful to the very end. Finally, she was also a writer and has left the manuscript of her autobiography, which will be published, to serve as a lasting testimony of God’s love, grace, mercy and continuing favor, to encourage others on in their walk with the Lord, Jesus Christ. Agnes flew away on October, 28, 2012 to be with her Lord and Savior, in whom she had trusted from July 8, 1962. She fought a good fight and now has claimed her reward. From her autobiography she wrote, “Dear reader, if you have not accepted God’s plan for Salvation and/or don’t understand it quite well, please find a Pentecostal Church and the Pastor will help you for it’s all written in the Holy Bible. God Bless You.”
Grandma Your Memory Lives On Kamal George (Grandson) Grandma I’m so grateful that I was able to see you and spend time with you before you left me. All I can think about is the day I was feeding you your favorite yogurt, and your smile as you ate. I remember so clearly the day you bought me my first remote control car,it was bright yellow. You called my mother who you affectionally gave the name Sunshine and told her that you were going to throw the car away because I was playing with it in the house. Her response was I told u don’t buy it. I am going to miss so much the days of you saying lets go for a stroll in Aventura Mall. Our first stop would always be at the pet store...Rest in Peace.
A Charge to Pray by Gladstone Lingo
Family, as we come together to celebrate the life of mom, and as we reflect, discuss and reminisce on her journey from birth to glory. Please let us not make the mistake of over looking what was the most important thing to her in her daily living. This without a shadow of a doubt was her Prayer Life. She lived, breathed, survive, depend and love her prayer life. In those moments of intimacy with her Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, she truly came alive. Nothing else matters then. She believed that the place called Knee City was the place where everything could and would be resolve. Let us take a look at some of the scriptures that Mom used as a spiritual guide and you’ll better understand why she truly loved to pray. There are two scriptures among many that are dear to Mom heart: Psalm 91: 1-3 and 1st John 3:1-3. These passages hold the secret to Mom’s passion to pray.
Mom strongly and wisely, believed that the way to abided under the covering of the almighty, according to the teaching of Psalm 91, was only through prayer. She believed that the way to keep oneself pure as a child of God, to guarantee access into eternity with God, according to 1st John 3:13, was also only possible through prayer. Thus prayer became paramount in her quest daily as she seeks the face of God, according to His promises in 2nd Chron.7:14. She believed that the secret to King David the Psalmist greatness, and the fact that he was called after Gods own heart, was because David spent so much time in prayer. David prayed morning noon and evening according to Psalm 5:2 and 55:17. Mom believed in prayer because Jesus Himself taught us how to pray according to Matt.6:9. Mom believed in prayer because the Lord God Almighty who robed Himself in flesh and came to earth left us the example to pray according to Matt 14:23, then
instruct us always to pray according to Luke 1:1, not to stop praying according to 1Thess5:17 and to always pray for each other. Mom lived to pray and loved to pray. I charge you this day before God to pray and when you pray remember the acronym P.U.S.H. P-ray U-ntil S-omthing H-appens LET MOMS LEGACY LIVE ON.
