HER LIFE
T
he theme song for the TV Show Cheers “Where Everybody Knows Your Name” personifies Antoinette McNeil. Antoinette had a huge personality which stood out in the crowd. A fashionista in all aspects of her life . . . Antoinette was always dressed to impress with her impeccable hair styles and pedicures. She was also very outspoken and always a phone call away, literally a phone call away. She embraced and welcomed anyone who was new in her vicinity.
She attended Olinville Middle School, DeWitt Clinton High School and Bronx Community College where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She was also a member of the Honors Society of Nursing Sigma Theta Tau-Association. Antoinette began her nursing career at Albert Einstein Hospital and moved on to New York Presbyterian Hospital thereafter.
Antoinette Marcia McNeil was born on May 5th, 1971 in Port Antonio, Portland, Jamaica West Indies. She migrated to the United States in 1984 and lived in Bronx, NY until 2006.
Our courageous Antoinette relocated to Apopka, FL in 2006 with her four children to a town no one had heard of and where she knew no one. She was fearless. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Health Central Hospital, Arnold Palmer Hospital and Florida Hospital. Her passion for helping others surpassed her peers’ and her
superiors’ expectations. She was an advocate for the sick and their family. She worked in various departments and had vast experiences which made her one of the highly skilled “fashionable” nurses in her field.
be the first to try it and then promote it. She absolutely loved spending her time with her kids and her family, especially when they were in town.
Antoinette was an exceptionally loving and dedicated mother, who went above and beyond for her children. She attended award ceremonies, field trips, parent-teacher conferences, games, dance competitions and was an active member of
the PTA and many more while working her long shifts. She was extremely active in their education, as well as their extracurricular activities. She loved exploring new things with her children, especially different cuisines. If Costco had a new product, then Antoinette would
She was involved in the community and found her spiritual home at New Destiny Christian Center, where she was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Zachary Tims. She was very dedicated to New Destiny Christian Center and she embraced her second family especially her Senior Pastor, Paula White-Cain. Antoinette was an extraordinary prayer warrior, active volunteer and the head of the Health and Wellness Ministry at New Destiny Christian Center. She was on fire for GOD and devoted her life to the ministry while working and caring for her children. After long twelve hour shifts she would
faithfully make her way to church to intercede on the behalf of those who needed it. Antoinette would literally open the church and shut down the church. Her family affectionately called her New Destiny Christian Center Pillar. Antoinette often gave encouraging words and uplifting scriptures to her church brothers and sisters, family members and friends.
her four children: Wayne Jr., Chanel, Dezur, and Malachi; sisters: Jasmine, Diana (Donnovan), Gail (Neville), and Aisha; brothers: Lloyd Chris (Mak) and Andrew (Yanil) and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
Antoinette will be missed by all, but we know she has received her crown of glory. We love you Antoinette passed away at the Antoinette . . . until we meet age of 45 on Monday, May again. 1st, 2017. She is survived by her mother Kerlena Buckley,
