esmond Cuthbert Trim was born on September 4th 1948, to Nathaniel and Maria Trim in a village named Grace in Vieux Fort, St. Lucia, West Indies. He was the 5th of 8 children. They were taught and trained to be well-mannered, respectful and hard-working. As a child he did his share participating in the family’s farming, livestock, and grocery business. He loved playing marbles. He completed High School and business training, becoming an expert typist. Not long after, he welcomed his first son, Clifford. In 1969 Desmond moved to St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, where he became a chef at a Frederiksted restaurant. He later learned arc welding and worked for the Litwin Corporation in Hess Oil Refinery for several lengthy stints between the 70s and the 90s, even working on the Cat Cracker Plant. In 1972 Desmond was baptized in Jesus’ name, filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke with other tongues according to the Holy Scriptures. He attended the Lighthouse Bible School for three 3 years and he was called to the ministry immediately after. After much difficulty submitting to the call, he was ordained to the ministry in 1977, God won!

In 1975 he met a beautiful young woman Lurine Smith, of Jamaica, and they were later joined together in Holy Matrimony on December 20th 1975. Their union produced two 2 children: Lorraine and Kirby. Together, they

raised their children in St. Croix in the nurture and admonition of the Lord Jesus. Desmond loved his family, enjoyed good food and sincere relationships. Desmond pastored the United Pentecostal Church in Dutch Quarter, St. Maarten and Faith Aflame Ministry in Estate Glynn, St. Croix US Virgin Islands totalling more than 4 decades of pastoral ministry! He was anointed and was present in the public as he was in private. One of his proudest moments was winning his mother Maria to the Lord. He was blessed with the

privilege of baptizing her in the name of Jesus Christ and witnessed her receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost! Desmond utilized his entrepreneurial skills to faithfully provide for his family. As a knowledgeable ground transportation specialist, he provided taxi and tour services to St. Croix’s hotels, visitors, and vacation planners. He started and ran his own business, Desmond’s East West Safari Tour, in the mid-1980s until just before Hurricane Hugo devastated St. Croix in 1989. During the mid-90s he started and continued the High Flying Eagle Safari Tours. His manufacturer of choice was Ford Motors. He only bought Ford vehicles! Desmond was someone whose heart was significantly larger than his pockets, but this never stopped him from giving and helping others. As an island tour ambassador, he tirelessly searched for ways and business opportunities to help other taxi drivers increase their livelihood. He often served on the founding boards of organizations, directly impacting and influencing St. Croix’s tourism and business owners, including: The Umbrella, The St. Croix Federation of Taxi Drivers, and Atlas Tours; effecting positive change in the island’s economy. His intentional work ethic and service proved how considerate he was and the magnitude of his desire to see others prosper. He would often say: “I don’t just want bread today, but tomorrow also. When you win, I win too!” Bishop Trim is well known as ‘The Sledge’, a solid, apt Bible teacher and preacher, always ready to deliver the word of God! While doing so, he was always willing to help someone who had fallen and needed a little encouragement or help to get back on their feet. This has been exhibited through him transporting people to work, offering financial assistance to someone in need, and laying hands praying for people who expressed a need on the spot! It did not matter if you met him in the post office, the auto parts store, the grocery store, the bank, or in the parking lot. If you had a need, he would lay hands on you and pray on the spot! Desmond was a very affectionate, loving, husband and Dad, and such a giver! Even while hospitalized he tried paying for gas for Lorraine’s car and he tried to write Kirby a check. He taught his children the importance of home ownership, education and moving towards being self-employed and self-sufficient. He was his children’s biggest cheerleader and stood behind them, prayed, read scriptures and encouraged them to go forth.

5

Desmond was very funny and could make his family laugh in a heartbeat even if he was serious. He had a little smile that played around his mouth just so. His laughter was hearty and full of life. Whenever anyone asked him something that was technology driven, especially about his beloved I-phone or laptop, he would answer “You think I’m a rusty nail?” Lorraine recalls a funny phone call with her Daddy: Lorraine: Hi Daddy! Daddy: Yes my daughter! Lorraine: Let me ask you a hypothetical question. Daddy: total silence. Lorraine: Daddy why do you get so quiet every time I say let me ask you a hypothetical question? Daddy: I have to listen hard because you too smart and full of tricks!!! The Bible says I have to watch and pray! Daddy and Lorraine: laughs, laughs, laughs! Throughout his recent illness, he remained courageous as a true soldier of Jesus being faithful to and hopeful in God until the very end. His favorite scripture verses were a source of encouragement to the end of his life. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13) Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: (Isaiah55:6) And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.(1 Sam.30:6) Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. (2 Timothy2:3) Bishop Trim was predeceased by parents - Nathaniel and Maria Trim; sister Morrill; brothers - Martin and Harriett; nephew Andre and niece Barbie. He is survived by: wife of almost 43 years – Lurine; sons - Clifford and Kirby; daughter – Lorraine; daughterin-law – Kanece; granddaughter - Laila Cills; sister - Agatha (Winnie) Trim Paul; brothers - Wilbert (Sonny boy), Cyril (Clarus), and Justin; sisters-in-law - Rodesia Trim, Patricia Hart, Shirley Malcolm, and Lorna Lewis; brothers-in-law - Neville, Paul, Donald, Michael, and Albert Smith; nieces - Christine L’aimable, Cheryl Paul, Kerlyn Trim-Dorival, Justina Trim, Isha Trim, Nadine Trim, Martina Trim, Yolande Donnelly, Merlinda Trim, Melissa Trim, Cariss Trim; nephews - Anthony Paul, Fabian Trim, Alvin Trim, Andy Trim, Alencious Trim; Cousins - John Trim, Jude Trim, Lena Trim, JudithTrim, Fidelis Trim, Cora Trim Straker, Lena Trim, Yolande Daniel, Smith Family-Laboris, St Lucia, Simon family-Laboris, St. Lucia. Trim family, St. Lucia, Trim family in Aruba. There are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws across the Caribbean, the United States and the United Kingdom. Bishop Trim was from a large family - he was loved by all and he loved you all. Lorraine and he often discussed the possibility of a family reunion in St. Lucia where he would have loved to preach the gospel to his entire family if he could. Sadly, this was not meant to be. However, his life’s work is a testament to us all and if we follow his footsteps we will see him one day in heaven with the Lord.

Tour of Duty

PART 1: 1975 - mid 2000’s... as told by Lady Lurine Trim

D

uring my time in Puerto Rico, Sis. Rachel Smith gave me a newsletter and I saw a photo of Mr. Desmond Trim, an outstanding student of the Bible College. Bro. Trim was involved in ministry for about 3 years before I met him. He started out as an usher responsible for recording attendance at each service at #9 East Street under Pastor Lawrence Rougier’s ministry in St. Croix. Bishop Glen Smith invited Brother Trim to go to Puerto Rico, where we met in 1975 and were married in December that same year. After our wedding I shared with him that I had seen his picture on the front page of the newsletter. I didn’t know then I would later marry that same man. Soon we went to St. Croix for a while.

Bishop Glen Smith took us to St. Maarten where we began laboring for the Lord in an animal shed where a bulb was hung, a few windows were opened and the roof leaked. That ministry grew until there was no more room. I remember one night after my husband preached, he told the church, “We will have to get out of this shed. We need a building.” At the end of the service Sis. Mattil walked up to Desmond. What we didn’t know was that she lived in the community. She told him to come visit the next day. We didn’t know it yet but we were about to experience a miracle! When they met on her porch the next day, Sis. Mattil showed Desmond the neighboring landscape and offered a piece of the land to build the church. She told him, “stand up and pick the piece of land you prefer to build on!” He chose the piece closest to the main road. The land was surveyed, plans were drawn and groundbreaking began. One day he went to Point Blanche to look at building supplies while praying. The owner came out and said, “I know you. You’re the pastor of the church in Dutch quarter. I’ll credit you all the materials you need for the building and give you 25% off the price!” That evening, my husband called all the talented men in the congregation together: electricians, carpenters, masons, auto-body mechanics. They estimated the quantity and the building materials that would be needed. He took the list back to the owner and the next day the trucks started rolling in with materials. Each evening the men in the congregation would work on the building. During the day my husband used 2 block molds, that Pastor Lawrence Rougier made for him, to mold every single block for the building! Pastor Rougier, a skilled builder, would often

8

visit us in St. Maarten to give guidance and be a voice on construction checks & balances. Another time, more building materials were needed but there was no money. The first phase of the downstairs area was under construction and we were worshipping in there with no windows and doors. It was just enough to shield us from the rain. Desmond came in one evening and said “Lurine, we have to pray. I ordered some materials and the gentleman delivered them, but I didn’t have a cent to give him. I wrote him a post-dated check.” So we prayed together. That evening at church, a brother stepped forward and said, “Brother Trim I was saving this offering to give you.” This church brother giving the offering was the brother of the man who brought the building materials! At the time neither of them were aware of this particular business transaction. The next morning my husband hurried to the bank just in time to deposit the offering ahead of the gentleman who delivered the materials, who was also at the bank about to cash his check! Can you imagine that? Even neighbors brought monetary donations to support the church building until we completed construction in Dutch Quarter. We also experienced miracles in the church, above and beyond those we experienced during the building construction. I will share a few here. Sis. Jeffers was verbally abused and frowned upon because she was unable to conceive for years. She and her husband requested prayer, the church prayed, and the Lord blessed them with 2 boys. Another sister, Sis. Cam, was also having the same difficulty. The church prayed and God blessed her family with children to the point they were having so many children they came back asking for prayer that God would not send them anymore. Bro. Arthur Smeins came to church one Sunday morning paralyzed on one side of his face and he requested prayer. His miracle didn’t happen instantaneously, but he came back to the evening service telling the church he had been healed as he could open and close his eyes voluntarily. There were many bumps in the road, but we saw many run to the altar, receive the Holy Ghost and get baptized in Jesus Name. The church grew from five in an animal shed to over three hundred within eight-and-a-half years.

9

Brother Trim also worked in the islands of Anguilla, St. Eustatius and St. Thomas. He later sent two pastors to St. Kitts, Pastor Pinto Williams and Pastor Charles Nisbett. He also sent Pastor Kenneth Chiverton to Anguilla. When we left for St. Croix in 1983, the ministry in Dutch Quarter, St. Maarten had property insurance, vehicles for transportation and it was debt free. He preached extensively in the Caribbean and then went on to establish other outreaches under the auspices of the United Pentecostal Church. When we returned to St. Croix, we worshipped at #9 East Street for a few months before we began the 2nd church plant: First United Pentecostal Church, at Plot #255 in Estate Glynn. This is where St. Croix’s first church tent was pitched. We worked together as a unit to maintain our lives and marriage, with our goal being to not bring reproach on the name of Jesus and the church. As time progressed, my husband had to assume the responsibility of paying the note on the church property. In addition to fulfilling his Godordained call to pastor, he worked as an arc welder, island tour guide and subsequently volunteered quite a bit of his time and energy serving the community as a Tourism Ambassador. He worked hard and gave much of his earnings to protect the ownership of the 2-acre church property. He wholeheartedly believed in God and God’s work. He never lost sight of how much the Lord gave himself for us and that influenced his giving and desires to help those in need. During the 90’s the church’s name was changed to Anastasis Pentecostal Church (APC). Anastasis is a Greek word defined as resurrection. During this season, we met Sister Gertrude. She was bent over and unable to stand up straight. We became her helpers by picking up her groceries and picking her up for church. One Sunday we were praying with her in the altar determined not to leave until God responded. Later that afternoon during prayer, a notable miracle happened in the altar. Sis Gertrude got up and stood up straight, walking out of the building without assistance! We remember that day the Lord healed Sis. Gertrude! Brother Trim’s vision and ministry experienced continued progress. In 2002 the APC Christian Preschool opened its doors to the community in Estate Glynn, providing Christian education to St. Croix youth. The school made a positive impact and enrolled numerous students from the community. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen events, we had to close its doors a few years later.

10

Part II – written by Pastor Grace Nelson His Missionary Journeys before His Departure to be with the Lord In the mid 2000’s APC merged with Faith Ministries in Jamaica and the church’s name was changed to Faith Aflame Ministries. Bishop Trim wanted the flame to remain burning. He was a man of integrity and an investor in the kingdom. Because of this he worked with his own hands to ensure the church was debt-free. His dreams and aspirations included returning to the Caribbean islands to carry the gospel of the kingdom to all people. He had a passion for souls and ministerial work in the islands. He stated that he had a strong burden to unite the islands and their leaders and he would not depart this life until his passion was fulfilled. In 2006, Victorious Apostolic Ministries (VAC) from the United States of America saw the need to fellowship with Apostolics across the globe, and to unite apostolic churches which were standing on their own. Bishop Grace Nelson, who thought that it was a good idea to bring to the Caribbean, suggested it to Bishop Basil Nelson and he too thought well of the idea. Two churches joined VAC with Faith Ministries, Jamaica being one of them. Since then the fellowship with VAC began and conferences were hosted annually. An Overseer from VAC travelled to St. Lucia where he learned of Bishop Trim’s ministry in the island. The Overseer contacted him and he came on board. We visited many Caribbean islands and everywhere we ministered, souls received the Holy Ghost and were baptized in Jesus’ name. As the Caribbean outreach grew, Bishop Grace Nelson served as secretary and Pastor Trim served as Overseer. The church in Jamaica soon merged with Anastasis Pentecostal Church to become Faith Aflame Faith Ministries Inc. The church property in St. Croix was re-dedicated in 2007 and Pastor Trim was ordained as a Bishop in 2008, in Jamaica at Faith Aflame Faith Ministries Inc. A host of saints were in attendance to show their support for Bishop Trim. He and Bishop Grace Nelson were sponsored by VAC, to conduct missionary journeys to other Caribbean islands. Bishop Trim always wanted to work with pastors from different islands in order to encourage them to become a part of VAC. His desire brought forth trips to Caribbean islands such as Grenada, Dominica, St. Maarten, St. Kitts & Nevis. At the very first baptism in Grenada, five (5) persons put on the name of Jesus and twenty (20) at the second baptism. Bishop Trim also sought to incorporate a ministry in the United States of America. As such, pastors around the Caribbean and the US were invited to Jamaica for a grand conference which was hosted at Faith Aflame Faith Ministry Inc. At the conference all the pastors in attendance made a commitment to work with Bishop Trim but, he was largely hampered due to a lack of finances. At the end of all his work in ministry, he was left with the church in Jamaica and St. Croix. He made it his point of duty to attend all our convocations in Jamaica, being absent for only the ones held in 2016 and 2017. For Convocation 2018 he had planned to attend, but unfortunately his illness did not permit him to. The church in Jamaica also attended 11

the convocations in St. Croix each year. Sadly we were unable to attend 2016, 2017 and unfortunately 2018, but we kept in touch. We had a very good relationship with Bishop Trim, his wife and children. They always enjoyed their stay with us in Jamaica and when it was time for us to visit St. Croix, Bishop Basil Nelson, Bishop Grace Nelson, Minister Amory Nelson, Minister Everton Wellington and other saints would be delighted to fellowship with all the saints in St. Croix. At the St. Croix convocations, Sis. Amory would minister in song with her sweet voice, and she assisted Bro. Kirby with praise and worship and sometimes she played the drums. Several persons were ordained during Bishop Trim’s tenure in St. Croix, including: Evangelist Lurine Trim, Minister Tarcious Lawrence and Missionary Ambrosine Lawrence. Being the mission man Bishop Trim was, with renewed strength and hope he texted Bishop Grace Nelson not knowing that it was going to be for the last time. The message stated, “God bless you and we believe Jesus. I’m on my way to the Airport believing God for the miracle to totally remove that curse, that mass from behind my left kidney in Jesus Name. I’m gonna be alright in Jesus Name”. This suggests that he was determined to overcome so he could have carried on the work of the Lord. The Faith Aflame Faith Ministry Inc. in Jamaica supports you in prayer at this time, knowing that God will comfort your souls and strengthen your hearts. We cite the words of Timothy with great confidence. Bishop Desmond Cuthbert Trim has fought a good fight, finished his course and kept the faith: henceforth there is a crown of righteousness laid up for him.

Finale as told by Lady Lurine Trim My husband was always excited and willing to collaborate with other apostolic ministries. He lived his life driven by a vision to see Apostolics unite to evangelize St. Croix, the Caribbean and the United States. He was very optimistic about the recent rejuvenated relationships being fostered amongst apostolic pastors in St. Croix, Jamaica and Florida. Before Hurricane Maria in 2017, he initiated some Facebook posts that started to gain some attention. He began to receive inbox responses from people who were interested in God, which led to a few Bible studies. When Pastor Stewart and the saints of Pentecostal Tabernacle of North Miami, Florida sacrificially sent hurricane relief supplies and several young men to St. Croix after Hurricane Maria, my husband was extremely grateful for the opportunity to distribute the supplies to the St. Croix community. We heard him say: “I wish I had money, I’d go to Florida and buy a few more trailer loads of supplies to help meet the needs.” My husband was a loving man of God. He believed God’s word and stood for righteousness while preaching to reach people’s hearts. In our 42 years of marriage the Lord blessed us with two children, Lorraine, and our granddaughter Laila, and Kirby and our daughter-in-law, Kanece.

August 21, 2018 Greetings to First Lady Trim and Family, as well as the members of Faith Aflame Ministries. It is with a sad heart that we write this letter of condolence to you and your family in the passing of our brother, friend and co-laborer in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Bishop Trim was a true soldier in the army of the Lord giving endlessly of his time and resources to help anyone who came across his path. He was kind and supportive to our ministry, always encouraging the saints to hold on to God’s unchanging hand. I will never forget his outpouring of love towards our church after he came and saw the devastation that we suffered at the hand of Hurricane Maria. We developed a more meaningful relationship as we worshipped the Lord together on fifth Sunday’s and had fellowship throughout the years. His love for souls was admiring as it was inspiring. He was faithful to the end, at his last conference he was engaged in tarrying with souls until they received the Holy Ghost. Truly we can say he has fought a good fight, he has finished his course, and he has kept the faith. In the Master’s Service,

Overseer John D. Briscoe Pastor (Psalm 91:2) I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God in him will I trust .

He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die…" “We lift you up unto the Lord In this time of grief, We pray the Lord will be to you The comfort that you need And when you have no answers To all the questions 'why', Know that God is in control And is there by your side He understands the way you feel And knows the loss you face, So rest in His eternal love, For there, you'll find His grace.” We are saddened by the loss of our dear brother in Christ. However, we celebrate the life of Bishop Desmond Trim. We pray that the precious memories will forever warm your hearts. “If in life we walk with God, then in death He will walk with us. Letter of Resolution for the Family of Victory Worship Center, Inc. Overseer AJ Monterio

Senior Pastor

Pastor Angelique Monterio

Pastor

Bishop Desmond Trim On behalf of the Victory Worship Center church family, we wish to extend our deepest and most heart-felt sympathy to Mrs. Joeel King, a faithful member of our church, to Mrs. Lurine Trim, the beloved wife of Bishop Desmond Trim, and to your entire family. It is our prayer that the family finds comfort in the fact that Bishop Trim’s death was not a surprise to God. Consider the words spoken by the prophet Jeremiah: “Before I formed you in your mother’s womb, I knew you.” These words affirm that God is not only conscious of our beginning, but He also assigns death as a means to lead us back to give Him the glory. Because our God knows all things, we have great hope that the Holy Spirit will lead you through this time of transition. Undoubtedly, your family has provided comfort to many during their times of hardship or crisis. We ask that you permit the Victory Family to comfort you as you have comforted others. We will remain in prayer as you continue to adjust to Bishop Trim’s departure. We pray The Lord grants you strength as you deal with this life-changing event. We are confident that, “earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.” Do not cry as those who have no faith, for in due time, God will wipe all tears away. Respectfully Submitted AJ Monterio

No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. (2 Timothy 2:4 KJV) The life and ministry of Bishop Desmond Trim is evident of a soldier in the army of the Lord. He was dedicated, determined, and disciplined. Like a soldier, he did not shy away from challenges but faced them with confidence knowing that the Spirit of God within him was greater than any enemy outside of him. Bishop Trim was committed to the spreading of the Gospel of The Kingdom. He was unwavering in his belief of the apostolic doctrine and boldly declared the message of salvation to all who heard him. In all his endeavors he presented himself as a man of integrity. The greatest testimony of an individual’s life is the evidence of an eternal perspective. We are confident by Bishop Trim’s life that he lived with heaven in view. Additionally, the legacy one leaves behind speaks to the commitment to continue the work of The Lord. At Pentecostal Tabernacle of Miami, we are blessed to have his son Kirby D. Trim as our Worship Minister. Through Kirby we can see an example of the fruits of Bishop Trim’s labor. The qualities of dedication, determination, and discipline have been transferred to his son. Bishop Trim has invested in his family and the church he pastored and has left a legacy that will outlive him. The Pentecostal Tabernacle family extends heartfelt condolences to the Trim family as a soldier is recalled from active duty. We are confident that he will hear “Well done, thou good and faithful servant”. With this assurance, we encourage the family to continue to keep his memory and work alive. God is your strength. SONGS Hold To God’s Unchanging Hand

He’ll Understand and say Well Done

Time is filled with swift transition Naught of earth unmoved can stand Build your hopes on things eternal Hold to God’s unchanging hand

If when you give the best of your service, Telling the world that the Savior is come; Be not dismayed when men don’t believe you; He understands; and say, “Well done.”

Chorus Hold to God’s unchanging hand Hold to God’s unchanging hand Build your hopes on things eternal Hold to God’s unchanging hand

Refrain Oh, when I come to the end of my journey, Weary of life and the battle is won; Carrying the staff and the cross of redemption, He’ll understand, and say, “Well done.”

Trust in Him who will not leave you Whatsoever years may bring If by earthly friends forsaken Still more closely to Him cling

Misunderstood, the Savior of sinners, Hung on the cross; he was God’s only Son; Oh! hear him call his Father in heav’n, “Not my will, but thine be done.” [Refrain]

Covet not this world’s vain riches That so rapidly decay Seek to gain the heav’nly treasures They will never pass away

If when this life of labor is ended, And the reward of the race you have run; Oh! the sweet rest prepared for the faithful, Will be his blest and final “Well done.” [Refrain]

When your journey is completed If to God you have been true Fair and bright the home in glory Your enraptured soul will view

But if you try and fail in your trying, Hands sore and scarred from the work you’ve begun; Take up your cross, run quickly to meet him; He’ll understand; he’ll say, “Well done.” [Refrain]

I’ll Fly Away Some glad morning when this life is o’er, I’ll fly away; To a home on God’s celestial shore, I’ll fly away (I’ll fly away).

When the shadows of this life have gone, I’ll fly away; Like a bird from prison bars has flown, I’ll fly away (I’ll fly away) Chorus

Chorus I’ll fly away, Oh Glory I’ll fly away; (in the morning) When I die, Hallelujah, by and by, I’ll fly away (I’ll fly away).

Just a few more weary days and then, I’ll fly away; To a land where joy shall never end, I’ll fly away (I’ll fly away) Chorus

CHORUS MEDLEY He that Believeth

Shouting on the Hills There’ll be shouting on the hills of glory Shouting on the hills shouting on the hills There’ll be shouting on the hills of glory There’ll be shouting on the hills of God

Chorus He that believeth, he that believeth. Shall have an everlasting life. He that believeth on the Father and the Son, Shall have an everlasting life. (Repeat 4x)

Oh what a blessed reunion Oh what a blessed reunion When will we gather over yonder There’ll be shouting on the hills of God

I got it. Everlasting life. I got it. I’m so glad it’s mine. (Repeat 2x)

No more sorrow in that city No more sorrow in that city Jesus prepared a place in heaven There’ll be shouting on the hills of God

He that believeth, he that believeth. Shall have an everlasting life. He that believeth on the Father and the Son, Shall have an everlasting life.

Now’s the time to make your preparations Now’s the time to make your preparations So stop and make your reservation There’ll be shouting on the hills of God

I got it. Everlasting life. I got it. I’m so glad it’s mine. I got it. I got it. I got it. I got it. Yes, I got it. Yes, I got it. Yes, I got it. Yes, I got it. Everlasting life. (Repeat)

He Lifted me up From the Miry Clay

I Want a Revival in My Soul

He lifted me up from the deep miry clay He planted my feet on the King’s high way And that is the reason I sing and I shout For Jesus came down and He lifted me up

I want a revival in my soul I want a revival in my soul I must apply to the blood of Jesus To get a revival in my soul

MY HUSBAND

I affectionately called you Dee from the time we were married until you took your last breath. We’ve known each other since our late twenties and were married for almost 43 years. We had difficulties but through it all we had a beautiful and wonderful marriage. You were a very loving, kind and compassionate husband and father to me and our children. You were a man that always saw the positive sides of things, always willing to give a helping hand and good word to others. I am truly saddened at your passing. It was not something we planned for and now I have come home alone. Dee, I truly miss you and I love you dearly. I know you are with the Lord and I will see you again in glory. Love Forever - Your loving wife Lurine

GENERAL DADDY My dearest daddy, it really took me a long time to type these words to you. I loved you to life and I love you some more. You were/are the best Daddy a girl could ever have asked for. For my 41 years with you, I have had it all. I am so very sorry to see that you are gone. July 30, 2018 and September 1, 2018 are the two worst days of my life. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that you would have died at the age of 69 years young. I hope you knew I fought for you and tried my best to help you. I would have moved heaven and earth for you if that is what it took but God had other plans for all of us. Daddy, you were the backbone of our family. I honestly do not know what I am going to do without you or how I am going to make it. It is so hard to see and to know you are gone. The silence is deafening. There are days that I jump up to call you and it hits me repeatedly that my Daddy is gone. I worry about Mommy to because you were all she had and now you are gone. I lovingly called you my general because to me you were larger than life. I still held the largest respect for you even when I made mistakes and failed. In real life, you stood 5ft 7in but to me you were 7ft tall. You meant everything to me. Nobody else’s advice counted for anything. Whatever you said was the gospel and it did not matter what it was. I know you knew how much I loved you and I never thought your coming to Atlanta, GA, for treatment would bring us to this point. I miss you so much. There are so many things I wanted to show and tell you and now I never will be able to. You told me we had to talk and now I will never know what you wanted to say to me. Three weeks before you passed, you told me you were very proud of me and you loved me. Today, I play that repeatedly in my head wondering if you were saying goodbye to me then. That night I tried not to cry in front of you but the way you looked at me I believe you saw my tears. Now, I know you went to heaven because you were a true soldier of Jesus and that part of my heart is at peace. However, the rest of my heart is broken in millions of pieces because I really needed my Daddy. You fought to stay with us until the end and when you could talk, you told us that you would live and not die. Daddy, Laila misses her Popop and asks for you all the time. I try to explain to her that you went to heaven to be with Jesus but she is smart enough to know that something is wrong. She still asks why her Grandma, uncle and I are not going to see you at the hospital. It still seems surreal and it hurts badly. You taught Laila Ephesians 6:1 and she still remembers it and says it in the same tone you taught the scripture to her. I am heartbroken that she now will never get the chance to know you and love you as I have. However, I promise to make sure that she grows to love the Lord and to learn about you through my memories and sometimes my tears. We are determined make to heaven because we have to see you again. There is no way that anything will prevent me from making it to Glory. People say that your loved ones become your angels and that they watch over their families. If that is so, then Daddy please watch over Mommy, your children, your entire family, the church family. The Bible says that the prayers of a righteous man avails much so your prayers will live on in each of our lives. Daddy, thank you for everything you have done for Laila and me. We are going to miss you for the rest of our lives. I will see you again Daddy. I love you forever - Your daughter LoLo and granddaughter Laila 24

OUR HERO

Ambitious, protector, supporter, advisor, favorite Bible teacher, inspiration, soldier of Jesus, all these you were and so much more. Daddy, you were always my hero! There are so many unforgettable powerful memories you’ve left in my mind. Before any doctor was consulted, when we were sick, you never failed to lift your faith to God in prayer. You took great care of our family; you and Mama were a tightly-knit team. You prayed with me at the altar when God filled me with the Holy Ghost. You’d be the first call when I was ready to proofread a sermon outline. You taught me true content always trumps charisma. Your life proves that it is possible for one to climb from humble beginnings and ascend to the pinnacle of success and notoriety while keeping the main thing...The Main Thing! Your life still teaches an important aspect when defining success: serving selflessly! I’ll continue to work hard and maintain your example of business before pleasure. I’ll do my best to support Mama and sis going forward. From the day you met Kanece, you treated her with such warmth and kindness. She often recalls how you made her feel like a part of our family. Your warm smile and embrace welcomed her and that she will never forget. You taught me how to be a good man, how to love and cherish her. We thank God for giving us, you! Thank you for speaking powerful words into our lives. We’re grateful for such great memories, but still wish you were here with us.

will never be ashamed!

I miss hearing you say “I love you son” when I’d say, I love you Dad! I miss your morning text messages that were filled with love, faith, scripture verses, and a prayer. We embrace and believe in your God. He has given us the heritage of them that fear His name. We’ll continue steadfastly in the Apostles doctrine because the hope we have in God

Loved and missed - Kirby & Kanece 25

HE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT! My big brother Desmond was very special to me and our family. He was more than just my big brother was, he was a confidant and steady guide for me my entire life. Desmond was always there if I needed someone to talk to or needed advice. He was a good man with a generous heart who touched so many people during his time with us. Desmond, you leave this world a better place than when you found it and for that, you have to be very proud. Having you in our lives as a brother, uncle and friend will always be our blessing. We still cannot believe you are gone and we miss you so much. It is so unbelievably hard to say goodbye, so we will say so-long until we meet again. We love you always - Justin, Rodecia, Andy, Andre, Kerlyn, Justina Desmond was my beloved young brother. I will remember him for his extreme warmth, kindness, sincerity and his deep love for family and friends. Whenever we got together, we reverted to childhood and would fondly reminisce about the past and we would chortle about our mischievous behavior. I will miss him dearly and his sudden departure has left an emptiness in my heart. May his soul rest in peace - Winnie My older brother Desmond, I was very saddened by the news of your passing. I believed you would survive, but God had other plans. We were very close and were together all the time, and it will be hard not having you around anymore. Rest in Peace Des until I see you again one day. Much love - Clarus Tribute to my brother Desi, It came as an unbelievable shock and tremendous loss for my family and me. We grew up as close brothers and we were always there for each other. I loved him dearly and he is irreplaceable. He was kind, loving and an absolute gentleman of the highest order and I will never forget him. He will always be in my thoughts and heart. May his soul rest in peace Sonny Boy and family

My Uncle Des was a very kind and unique individual in that he always asked of me and made time to enquire about my welfare. I am devastated that he is no longer with us and that I will not be able to draw on his wisdom and guidance. He was the perfect role model and the loss has now left a chasm in my life. I was so looking forward to seeing him in September and plans were in place for us to travel to France and other parts of Europe. I wanted to pick his brain on biblical topics and continue with our intellectual debates on current affairs. I will cherish the fabulous memories and the positivity that he brought into my life. May his soul rest in peace. Anthony and family Uncle Desmond was a kind and gentle man. He had a great sense of humor that was matched with an infectious laugh. My husband and I were looking forward to seeing him in September but it was not to be. It was a pleasure knowing him and he will be greatly missed. An angel has entered the kingdom of heaven. Love from Cheryl Uncle Desmond was a beautiful human being with a larger than life personality and a rumbustious voice. My first serious involvement with my Uncle was in relation to a litigious land issue that I was having extreme difficulty with in St Lucia. Uncle Desmond helped navigate me through the situation with tact and diplomacy and encouraged me to have patience and to continue with other projects in the meantime armed with wise words. Uncle Desmond was a man of integrity, honesty, kindness and moral courage, which he demonstrated limitlessly. His inspirational words to me, which I will never forget, are as follows: “Christine, if you don’t have integrity, you have nothing and if you are not a moral or ethical person, you really have nothing”. I sincerely miss his presence, courage, support and interest in what I was trying to achieve and there will now be a void. He was my favorite Uncle. Christine A tribute to my cousin Desmond (Dessie) Trim For over fifty years, our cousin Desmond (Dessie) Trim presided and administered practical and highlyvalued evangelical services to our St. Lucian Diaspora and other Christians primarily in the US Virgin Islands. Growing up with cousin, who we once called “Little Hop on My Thumb” we always thought that there was something very special about him especially in observing his instant leadership ability. We were right in our assessment. Our cousin aspired to be an honest and sincere fundamental Christian leader and was crowned the Bishop of his religious domain of the Apostolic Faith. True to his foundation, he had the respect of his parents who adored him, his siblings who respected him and his wife, children and grandchild who earnestly loved him and were with him at his bedside at passing. We all will passionately miss our beloved cousin for his gratitude, compassion, grace and kindness demonstrated throughout his life. Fidelis and Annette Trim Dear Mr. Trim, I am very sorry we didn’t get to meet in person but I want to say thank you for the wonderful 3 years you had with your first grandchild, my daughter Laila. Thank you! I will make sure that Lorraine and Laila will be ok. Rest in Peace - Russ Cills

TRIBUTE WALL My Beloved Pastor, Counselor and Friend. I have known you all my life and you are a man after God’s own heart. Selfless, caring, compassionate and understanding is who you were. I have never met another like you and I am proud to have been under your ministry. My beloved Bishop and friend your voice will forever ring in my heart. Until we meet again on the shores beyond the sky. Love - Lea, Rose and Jimmilia Bishop Desmond Trim will always be in our thoughts and forever in our hearts. He was an excellent husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and neighbor, which allowed him to be able to comport the title and office of a Bishop. My brother-in-law was a man of principle, character, faith and courage. He loved the Lord and his family and his love was manifested in the life that he lived. Even though our hearts are saddened, we know that he has been a good and faithful servant in this life and now he is resting, awaiting that “great getting up morning”. When the trumpet sounds, the dead in Christ shall rise first, those that remain will be caught up, and so shall we forever be with Our Lord and Savior, Jesus. Lovingly submitted - Pastor Vince Hart & Family The first time I met Bishop Desmond Trim, he spoke a prophetic word in my life. That was the second man of God that uttered those words. He is no longer with us. However, those words will continually be manifested in my life to affect nations. Rest in peace. I will see you in the rapture someday. Dr. Bridgette Ricketts. Sleep in eternal peace Pastor Trim. Sharon Smith While I was battling some of life’s trying times you embraced me with open arms. You prayed with me time after time reassuring me that it would be ok if I believed, and it was. Words could never express my gratitude. Rest peacefully Pastor Trim. Love - Tiffany and Family I called you Brother Trim because that’s who you were to me. A brother, a friend, you were a jewel in the Kingdom of God. I thank you Bishop personally for the day you received me in your life and your home. Wow! I salute you General D. Trim for a job well done. You will be greatly missed. Sister Edna John When all hell broke loose, when no Pastor could understand, when others saw something in me but were not willing to cultivate it, ONE MAN saw me! His name, Bishop Desmond Trim! He was a divine connection in my life! We took a chance on each other. When I moved I broke his heart, running from those whom I thought rejected me. I miss his phone calls and text messages. I vowed to do the will of God and as I stood over him weeks ago, even with his ventilator, he still tried to say, like he always does to his members, “I LOVE YOU!” #Ditto I blessed the house and he turned around and blessed mine! He did for me what others have done, BUT, without a motive. This ONE I was willing to turn around for (meaning, return to St. Croix). This man showed me love! I can still hear him asking, “Sister James, when are you coming home? I’m waiting on you!” - Sis Cynthia James “I want a revival in my soul!” When I think of Pastor Trim, that song pops into my mind instantly. Many nights I sang that song in the only church I grew up in with Pastor Trim in his suit and tie leading us in hymns and prayer, preaching about his Father that he knew he was going to be with one day. He wanted to make sure our souls were saved so we could all rejoice together. He is rejoicing with his Savior now! - Porlette Powell 28

To my pastor, daddy, and friend, Bishop Desmond Trim. I got so excited some days ago because I wanted to call you and share a thought with you. My excitement soon turned into sadness when I realized that calling you was something I could no longer do. Words cannot express how immensely I miss you and how much I still need you in my life. You, have been there for me through the years, and have deposited some truths into my life that will never depart. Yes, I am sad, but I get great comfort when I think about the race that you have ran and won. Accept your trophy for a job well done, Bishop, a home in glory. Love you - Benny Joseph

I would like to pay tribute to a very close and dear friend of mine. So many times we wait until we lose the ones we love to tell them what a wonderful person they are and how much they are appreciated and love. I’m grateful that I had the opportunity to let you know this. Your unexpected death came with so many questions that only God has the answer to. We are going to hold on to our memories. The first time we meet I was thirteen and I knew that you were always focused, intelligent and smart. You had so many amazing ideas to share, whether it was directly or indirectly it was meant to help others. You were a very good listener no matter how trivial the problem was. You have been more than a role model to so many. One of my memories of you were of you praying for me when I had to work. You asked God to cover me with his blood as I cared for my patients in Jesus Name. You have been the person that offered comfort, fun and motivation to so many people. I am thankful I had the opportunity to be part of your life and to spend time with you and your family. I will miss your laughter to my funny stories and the memories of you I will celebrate from your life. You kept the faith, held on to your beliefs, served God and lead so many to Christ. One day we will meet you in heaven. You will be greatly missed, but your memories will live on forever in our hearts, so rest my dearest friend in eternal peace. - Estine Matthew

You were in every defined measure, a Father. Deserving of my respect as you vividly looked after me and took on the responsibility of being my spiritual advisor. Never too busy to listen, I could always depend on you for an uplifting word and guidance. Thank you for it all! - Denise Ryan My Friend Bishop Trim, I will miss you so much, you were a great friend, bishop, mentor and the best male role model in my life. I cherish every conversation we had and I will hold on to your kind words of wisdom for the rest of my life. You Sir have changed my outlook on life and have shown me what compassion, love, God, and life is really about. You have touched the lives of many people, known and unknown. God has truly gained his best angel Pops. I will always value our friendship, and I hope to see you again. I love you with all of my heart, my adopted Poppa! Rest in Heaven! - Kathy Ryan We have known Desmond Trim for 20 years and he has always been there for us. On behalf of all the Danish tourists and us whom he has driven safely around in his safari bus, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the Trim family. With the passing of Desmond Trim, St. Croix has truly lost a treasure. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Troy and Birgit Holloway, Stjernegaard Rejser, Denmark 29

MY PARTNER IN MINISTRY Bishop Grace Nelson

Another soldier has gone home to be with the Lord. Bishop Desmond Trim was one of the greatest men ever born in the Caribbean islands. His life touched all of us. His name depicts who he really was to myself, my family and the church family. D- Different, dependable E- Efficient S- Soldier and this message still stands as his WhatsApp status, “A true soldier of Jesus” M- Man of God O- Overcomer, one who overcame all of his challenges with a smile N- No-nonsense person D- Decent, dedicated and devoted T- Trustworthy R- Respectful I-Intelligent M- Mission-minded Bishop Trim was very kind-hearted, loving, interesting and humorous. He was very supportive to us in Jamaica. He was a true friend, Bishop, co-worker and partner in ministry. We shared some really fun-loving times and he was very loyal always sending a word of encouragement via text messages. On my visit to St. Croix in 2016 he taught me one of his favourite choruses, “He that believeth, He that believeth shall have an everlasting life, He that believeth on the Father and the Son shall have an everlasting life”. One of the funny moments we shared together went like this: “Praise the Lord my busy, busy, Bishop G! Baby, don’t worry about a thing for every little thing is gonna be alright, Hallelujah!”. Another time he said, “What a sweet reggae style song- oosh praise Him!”. How could I forget?! Whenever he had a good and fun-loving laugh, he would always say, “Hey Bounté” with a French accent. These were some of the fun memories we shared. When he came to Jamaica, he always felt at home and his home in St. Croix was home to us too. He always shared with us and never expected anything in return. He was a gem, loaned to us and I still can’t believe that he has gone so soon. I remember him helping to work on the church building with Minister Daimian Bookal and others, cutting the fence at home and playing with his best friend, Tarzan, the dog. Oh how I love the pic with both of them!

Bishop Trim’s PAC factor was always intact, his parent, adult and childhood traits were very balanced. His inner child was very much alive as he knew how to have fun and when to be serious. He was also a loving husband and he would talk with his wife like two little children would. When in Jamaica, they would always share their warm smiles with us. I remember him singing and preaching his last message in the year 2015 at Convocation in Jamaica under the theme, “I am a soldier in the Lord’s army”. In his charge to the saints he reminded us that, “God created us to be successful”. You never knew he had a problem, unless he told you. He had several challenges but never allowed them to move him. He was always encouraged by the word of God and was a real bible scholar. Before he went to the hospital, he sent me these words from Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end”. Bishop Trim brought forth much fruit and if he was not ripe, God would not have picked him. Our responsibility now is to pick a leaf from his branch and utilize it to enhance the lives of others, as he would have done. Bishop Trim has fought a good fight, finished his course, kept the faith and a crown of life is laid up in heaven for him. Sleep on beloved, miss you, gone too soon, ‘walk good’. Rest in peace!

FOOTPRINTS ON THE SAND OF TIME I have known Pastor Desmond Trim since I was a little girl. We attended the same church until Pastor Trim branched off to open a church in Glynn Estate. I was sad because after this happened I did not get to go over to the Trim’s house as much on a Sunday afternoon with my childhood friend, Lorraine. One thing I can remember about Pastor Trim, he did not smile much but when he did it brightened up the whole place. He was a great dad, as I can remember, and a powerful man of God. I truly believe he has left a mark of the Gospel of Jesus in St. Croix that will never go away. Please do accept my deepest condolences and prayers to all the family. Love Tresca Although I only knew Bishop Trim for a short period of time, one thing was very prevalent about him, his passion for the work of God. He had a drive and zeal for seeing souls added to the Kingdom of God, especially young men. His mind was always on the future, and how the gospel will be carried when he has gone home to glory. His desire to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ is something I will never forget and in that way I hope to carry on his legacy. If there is anything I want to take from the time I knew Bishop Trim, I want to have that same hunger for the growth of God’s kingdom. And although Bishop Trim has passed on from this physical realm, I know that there is hope to see him again in glory. Jumar Moffatt When I first met Bishop Trim on a mission Trip to St Croix I said to a brother this man is so down to earth, humble, relatable and always keeps it real. You just wanted to have a conversation with him all day. Every night after dinner we spent hours talking, sharing jokes, funny videos on his phone and always it came back to him encouraging me to stay in the faith and to continue to have a burden for the mission field and evangelism. He always ended by saying there are many other prophets and man of God left in the city, but it’s up to us to go find them and witness to them. Bishop Trim will surely be missed and even though it may be hard letting him go. It is was an honor to know this general. This amazing man of God accomplished his number one goal which was to give God what he had and die in Christ Jesus. His legacy and contribution will never die because of the vision, and encouragement that he invested in young men. Now he will get rewarded for his labor in the Kingdom. Ramon Rose I’ve known Pastor Trim for over 36 years. He was a man of integrity, God fearing, a devoted Pastor and friend. You are gone but not forgotten, and will be sorely missed. As a spiritual father who has touched so many lives, I take the opportunity to say on behalf of my wife, Sis. Ule and I, until we meet again may your soul rest in eternal peace. From the depths of my heart farewell and thanks for the memories. Farewell Pastor Trim. Ronny and Ule Neale Bishop Trim was an honorable man. I met him when I went to St. Croix for the first time this year and he was kind enough to let me stay in his home. Not only did I have that privilege but Bishop Trim also made me feel like that his home was my home. Looking back now when I met Bishop Trim he was sick, but I would never have known due to how he carried himself. The first day there, he was up before everyone and went to work. He then took us to the church to do some work and while we were working, he was working! The type of strength, dedication, and kindness showed by this great man of God will always be remembered! In my short stint of knowing Bishop Trim, he never failed to let me know I was a great man of God and that will stick with me until the very end. Rashaud Thomas 32

The first time I met Bishop Trim I was drawn to his humility. I can truly say he was a man after God’s own heart. His passion for the work of God exhibits a true disciple of Jesus. Whenever we got the time to talk, he would always encourage me to stay in the will of God. He would also express the vision he had for the church and how he liked to see young men with a burden for ministry. Bishop Trim was a kind, caring and a loving Pastor who had a desire to see souls saved. He was a visionary, a patriot of the gospel and a humble servant of the Lord. He will be greatly missed but his dedication, sacrifice and the works that he has done in the ministry will never be forgotten and will live on. Kingsley A Mitchell Bishop Trim was a Godly and great man. We never knew he wouldn’t be here today to fill his role in our lives as a Pastor, Husband, Father, Family Member, Friend and Confidant. He was always willing and ready to assist everyone in any way that he could. He is resting in the arms of our heavenly father and will be greatly missed by all who loved him from near and far. Myrtle “Netta” Pemberton’ Dear Pastor Trim, Words cannot express how difficult it is writing this tribute to you. For 40 years, you have influenced my life by giving me a very strong foundation in the Word of God. During difficult times, I have always been able to stand because of your strength, wisdom, and support. My favorite things about you were your sense of humor and your devotion to Jesus. I am grateful that your suffering is over because to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord. I am truly going to miss you. Your daughter in the Lord - Sister Althea God knew what he was doing when he brought my spiritual father into my life. You and mom welcomed me and my children into the Faith Aflame Ministry family with open arms. I have always looked up to you Dad, you will always be part of our hearts. When I needed to talk you was always there for me, who am I going call now? You were a true man of God. God looked around His garden and saw an empty place. He then looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful He always takes the best. Rest in peace my spiritual father until we meet again. We love you always. Juanita Crystal Rawlins, Marquez, and Maleya Six months is not a very long time, but that’s all the time God gave me to seek counsel from a wise man, Bishop Trim. I called him Pastor, he called me brother, and we enjoyed fellowship as children of God. Often, I thank God that I got to know him and I miss my friend. Laban L. Rogers I have known Bishop Trim, since the year 1998, to be a humble man of Jesus and a very loving pastor. After service he always said “I love you church” and he encouraged the church to stay with the Lord. He wasn’t just my pastor he was also my friend. I was glad to have known a great man like him, he inspired me to live for God by how he lived for God. This good man of God was a true worshipper. He was also a dancer, which reminds me of when David danced before the Lord with all his might. In closing, I will miss my good loving Pastor and friend. Bro. Tarcious Lawrence 33

LUVKIDS’ FOUNDERS TRIBUTE TO A GREAT MAN OF GOD THE HONORABLE BISHOP DESMOND TRIM

A shock was felt throughout our community when we learned of the death of “A GREAT MAN OF GOD, THE HONORABLE BISHOP DESMOND TRIM.” He and his lovely wife Lurine were icons in the taxi/transportation industry of St. Croix, V.I. As Luvkids’ founders, Mrs. Anita M. Osborne-Nibbs and St. Croix Veteran Police Officer Charles E. Nibbs, the Trim Family and us go way back and there wouldn’t be enough space to detail our history. Bishop Trim, his lovely wife first lady Lurine, daughter Lorraine and son Kirby shared a special bond with the Nibbs’. In fact, they have supported our Luvkids Television and Radio Productions, Inc., ministry of caring for underprivileged children of St. Croix, US Virgin Island. Kirby appeared on one of our Luvkids’ program “Special Luvkids Exclusive Television Program” where he ministered with gospel songs and testimonies. This was wellreceived by viewers, and greatly appreciated by family, especially his father and mother whose Christian upbringing was proven. When divine intervention was needed about 2 years ago, Bishop Trim and lady Trim answered the call to a Luvkids “Welcome Home” reception for a 5-year-old St. Croix boy Demarcus, who was a cancer patient. The event was held at the Henry E. Rohlsen International Airport where Bishop Trim and Bishop Esron Grey of the New Testament Church of God, laid hands on Demarcus’ body after Bishop Trim anointed his head with oil. The Trims are DEVOTED, LOYAL AND DEDICATED, they define “SERVICE ABOVE SELF”. While attending the aforementioned reception, they had forgotten their groceries in their vehicle which included frozen poultry. As a result, their poultry melted but the Trims, who were answering the call to serve almighty God for Demarcus’ Welcome Home Reception, were not worried about groceries. On behalf of my lovely wife, Mrs. Anita M. Osborne-Nibbs, Co-Founder of Luvkids Television and Radio Productions, Inc., we express our deepest and sincere condolences to Bishop Desmond Trim’s Family, Born-Again Christian Family, Taxi Industry Family, Friends, and Associates. “REST-IN-PEACE”. St. Croix Veteran Police Officer Charles E. Nibbs & Mrs. Anita M. Osborne-Nibbs

Onward still‌ from the heart of the Poet

FAITH

AFTER TODAY

Annette Taylor-Spence

Annette Taylor-Spence

Here I am... my faith saying live Yet expected to accept the outcome you give How do I reconcile with your will Yet keep hope alive... believing still What is this conflict facing me this time Death versus life... your will versus mine

What will tomorrow be like after today... When you are no longer here to show me the way When the new day dawns with a great big smile... How will my heart feel as I sit and reflect for a while?

I pray and hope... request and wait Expecting you to respond to my prayer bait Healed by your stripes... that is The Word Ask to receive is the instruction I heard Positive vibes... you are in control Yet what I see does not match my goal

How do I move on while holding to the past... Worried that in time these memories will not last? Wondering if next week, next month, next year... Everything will be erased as if I did not care Tomorrow will never ever be like today Because today you have left - gone away Leaving memories of the times we shared Of all you did to show us you cared

Reality sets in... questions abound Do I lack faith... is that what you found How do I go on with a positive outlook When the world knows my loved one you took Where do I turn to answer questions of faith I will keep serving and on you I will wait

I do not know what tomorrow holds But I will face each day as life unfolds With the assurance that Jesus is in control I will step into the future whatever the toll Comfort and strength comes from God above The one who enfolds me with His love For each tomorrow when a new day I face I will hold fast to Jesus and continue this race Yes, tomorrow will never be like today But tomorrow I can welcome a brand new day

THE FINAL SALUTE In The New Jerusalem 1. When the toils of life are over, And we lay our armor down, And we bid farewell to earth with all its cares, We shall meet and greet our loved ones, And our Christ we then shall crown, In the new Jerusalem. Refrain: There’ll be singing, there’ll be shouting When the saints come marching home, In Jerusalem, in Jerusalem, Waving palms with loud hosannas As the King shall take His throne, In the new Jerusalem. 2. Tho’ the way is sometimes lonely, He will hold me with His hand, Thro’ the testings and the trials I must go. But I’ll trust and gladly follow, For sometime I’ll understand, In the new Jerusalem. 3. When the last goodbye is spoken And the tear stains wiped away, And our eyes shall catch a glimpse of glory fair, Then with bounding hearts we’ll meet Him Who hath washed our sins away, In the new Jerusalem. 4. When we join the ransomed army In the summer land above, And the face of our dear Saviour we behold, We will sing and shout forever, And we’ll grow in perfect love, In the new Jerusalem.

Some Sweet Day Some sweet day, I’m going away. I’m going to leave this world, no more to roam. Some sweet day, when life is over, Some sweet day, I’m going away!

I’m Gonna Walk Those Streets of Glory I’m gonna walk those streets of glory by and by. I’m gonna walk those streets of glory by and by. I’m gonna walk those streets of glory, gonna sing redemption story, I’m gonna walk those streets of glory by and by!

Won’t It Be A Time Won’t it be a time, when we get over yonder Won’t it be a time, when we get over yonder Won’t it be a time, when we get over yonder Oh! Won’t it be a time! We’ll sing and shout and dance about, when we get over yonder We’ll sing and shout and dance about, when we get over yonder We’ll sing and shout and dance about, when we get over yonder Oh! Won’t it be a time! King Jesus will be there, when we get over yonder King Jesus will be there, when we get over yonder King Jesus will be there, when we get over yonder Oh! Won’t it be a time! We’ll have no sorrow there, when we get over yonder We’ll have no sorrow there, when we get over yonder We’ll have no sorrow there, when we get over yonder Oh! Won’t it be a time!

Sweet Jesus, Sweet Jesus Sweet Jesus, Sweet Jesus, what a wonder you are! You are brighter than the morning star. You are fairer, much fairer, than the lily that grows by the way. You are precious, more precious, than Gold. You’re like the rose of Sharon, you’re the fairest of the fair. You are all my heart could e’er desire. Sweet Jesus, Sweet Jesus, what a wonder you are, You are precious, more precious than gold

No Grave Can Hold My Body Down No grave can hold my body down, no grave can hold my down. When the trump of God shall sound, and the dead in Christ shall rise, No grave can hold my body down. 37

THE FINAL SALUTE When We all get to Heaven

Heaven’s Jubilee

1. Sing the wondrous love of Jesus Sing his mercy and his grace In the mansions bright and blessed He’ll prepare for us a place

1. Some glad morning we shall see Jesus in the air Coming after you and me, joy is ours to share What rejoicing there will be, when the saints shall rise Headed for that jubilee, yonder in the skies

Chorus When we all get to heaven What a day of rejoicing that will be When we all see Jesus We’ll sing and shout the victory

Chorus Oh what singing, oh what shouting On that happy morning when we all shall rise Oh what glory, Hallelujah When we meet our blessed Savior in the skies

2. While we walk the pilgrim pathway Clouds will overspread the sky But when travlin’ days are over Not a shadow, not a sigh

2. When with all that heavenly host, we begin to sing Singing in the Holy Ghost, how the heavens will ring Millions there will join the song, with them we shall be Praising Christ through ages long, heaven’s jubilee.

3. Onward to the prize before us Soon his beauty we’ll behold Soon the pearly gates will open We shall tread the streets of gold

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS THANK YOU The Family of Bishop Desmond Trim wishes to express our gratitude to all who have been on this difficult journey with us. We appreciate every kind thought, gesture, gift, and prayer. In all the various ways you have ministered to us, we want you to know that we are thankful to God for you. You have indeed been the hands of God extended, the heart of God in compassion, and the feet of God in journeying with us. May God bless you abundantly. The Trim Family

Lord God, I thank thee for the delight of congenial companions and the memory of friendship. May I not be quick to lose my friends through misunderstanding and selfishness. May I be considerate and constant and be able to climb to the highest steeps of friendship. Amen

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me. 2 Timothy 4: 7-8

PLEDGE TO THE CHRISTIAN FLAG I pledge allegiance to the Christian flag, and to the Saviour for whose Kingdom it stands; one Saviour, crucified, risen, and coming again, with life and liberty for all who believe.
