Alive in our Hearts
To Our Darling Daughter
The life of the party and party planner, our paparazzi and selfie queen, the first one to start dancing and the last one left on the dance floor.
Who could have told us we would be writing a tribute to you? As parents, our wish is to see our children grown, get our grandchildren now and then, just to spoil them, and send them back home. Who could have told us that tragedy would strike and leave this gaping hole in our hearts?
Who said death is for the elderly and not for the young? Who could have told death to pass our family and go to others as we weren’t ready? Who? Who?
How can we say goodbye to such a young and vibrant young lady? How can we pick up the pieces to move on? How can our lives be normal again? How can we find comfort knowing you are no longer here?
Even with all these questions, we know in whom we have believed. We know He will take care of us, bring us through this, and give us peace and strength to go on. Our hearts are broken and our family is left to put the pieces back together but, with God’s help and the prayers of loved ones, we will make it.
It seems like yesterday we were taking you home from the hospital; our very own beautiful baby girl. Oh, how you brightened up our lives and our relationship. Your entry was the start of a lifetime together. We are still standing together, because of the love we share and continue to share, each year.
Kim, Kimmy, Kimonie, you will always be in our hearts even though you are no longer with us. We will make sure your children never forget you as we will keep telling your story. We will continue to love you and your memory will continue to live in our hearts.
Love, Mom and Dad
Kimonie Ashika Williams was born on May 25, 1991, to parents Yolande and Dave Williams Sr. at Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica. She was the first love child for this union which has evolved from a blissful wedding day to a lifetime of love and commitment.
Kim, Kimmy, Kimonie, Sis, is how she was affectionately known to most. To me she was my Cubano. As you see from her picture collage, whether in the book or from the slide show, she rocked any color hair and she was able to fit into any crowd. She brought life to every and anyone who was in her company. She was the life of the party; she brought the energy to any function as she would dance if no one else would. She loved taking selfie or being paparazzi, catching you off-guard, as she was the family photographer.
Kimmy started Waltham Park Basic School at the tender age of 3, then moved on to Seaview Gardens Primary and then to St Andrew Technical High School, (STATS).
Kimmy became a mother at the age of 18, giving birth to her beautiful daughter Kaydenne Thompson, affectionately known to all as KC. Her daughter was her world; you seldom saw Kimmy without her daughter. She migrated to the USA in 2012 and her daughter followed shortly after.
Since being in the United States, Kimmy has held jobs at Wal-Mart, Publix, Amazon, Macy’s, and Turnberry Condominiums. Kimmy was always working as she was very independent and didn’t want anyone to take care of her or her children. She was happiest when around family and friends.
She leaves behind four beautiful children - Kaydenne Thompson (14) known to most as KC, Amir Muhammad (5) known as Prince, Amari Muhammad (3) known as Royal; and Amirah Muhammad (1) known as Princess; mother and father - Yolande and Dave Williams Sr; sister Latoya Anderson; brothers - Joseph Bryan and Dave Williams Jr.; grandmother - Sotilda Robinson; aunts, uncles, niece, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Kimmy is gone but not forgotten; she will always be in our hearts. Sleep on Kimonie, sleep on in peace.

PEACE
Dear Kimmy,
As I sit here writing this letter my heart breaks more and more.
Oh, how I wish I could just hear your voice one more time.
We would talk almost every day, sometimes about nothing.
We laughed and cried together. I know you can feel my tears and would not want me to cry But I can’t help but to ask, why? Why was your beautiful life taken so senselessly and so young? What brings me joy is knowing that, the day of your passing, I was able to see your face.
You shared how happy you were saying “Ko look how I am gaining weight.” I am happy knowing that you finally had that ‘me time’ that I begged you to have. You shared how you had a great weekend filled with the joy and peace you so longed for and deserved.
I will forever remember your smile, your laugh, and those crazy facial expressions. Kimmy, our friendship grew into sisterhood, and I will never forget you. I love and miss you so much my sister, sleep in peace.

KIM...
You have been ripped from our lives but not from our hearts!
“A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit, a golden thread to the meaning of life.”
(Isadora James)
“But the love of sisters needs no words. It does not depend on memories, or mementos, or proof. It runs as deep as a heartbeat. It is as ever present as a pulse.”
(Lisa Wingate)
FAMILY IN FOCUS
Thank You
You have walked alongside us through our dark and painful valley. You have held our hands, cried with us and prayed for us. We are extremely grateful for every expression of love, condolence, and support that you have shown. We don’t know what each day ahead will hold. However, we know that with the support of our caring village and the sustaining strength of God, we will make it. Accept our sincere thanks for all that you have done and continue to do.

A Special Prayer
Focus on Love
Head bowed in prayer to plead
Because I have a special need For children who are left behind In a world that is sometimes unkind.
Hate destroys and corrupts; jealousy erodes… Leading to relationship crossroads
Love is gentle, kind, and unselfish, it reigns supreme It is the antidote to counter the devil’s scheme.
So, my prayer is that love will reign In the hearts of those filled with pain
When hate is spewed, love can change the course It is my prayer that love you will enforce.
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.”
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. Luke 6:27-28 NKJV
