TO GOD BE THE GLORY
To God be the glory, great things he hath done! So loved he the world that he gave us his Son, who yielded his life an atonement for sin, and opened the lifegate that all may go in.
O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood, to every believer the promise of God; the vilest offender who truly believes, that moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
Great things he hath taught us, great Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, things he hath done, let the earth hear his voice! and great our rejoicing thru Jesus the Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Son; let the people rejoice! but purer, and higher, and greater will be O come to the Father thru Jesus the Son, our wonder, our transport, when Jesus and give him the glory, great things he we see. hath done!
REMEMBERING MY FATHER From Taj-Marie
The calls and messages have stopped… But the words of encouragement, fond memories, and laughs will always remain. The hugs, kisses, and “I love you” will no longer be given... But the love, warmth, and tenderness will forever remain in my heart. The scriptures, the talk of faith, and messages of God’s love will no longer be heard…But your passion and dedication to our Lord and your family will always be remembered. You always prayed that one day we would be physically closer… But I pray by God’s grace it will happen in the presence of our Savior Jesus Christ. Now there are tears, pain, and hurt that may last for a while… But I rejoice knowing you are free from medication and machines. Now you are resting in the bosom of Christ and eventually my heart will smile again... But I will always miss you and love you forever. It didn’t matter whether we met often or not… What mattered is that your advice helped me connect my life’s dots. It didn’t matter whether we spoke every day or not… What mattered was that you loved me a lot. wishesmessages.com
Eulogy Running Fast Lenworth Housen; AKA Lenny, Uncle Lenny, Lenny Bop, Ian, was born on June 4, 1961 in the parish of St. Ann, Jamaica, West Indies. Lenny received his basic education from the St. Ann’s Bay Primary School and later his secondary education from Marcus Garvey Technical High. In recognition of his exemplary athletic prowess and agility, he later received a football scholarship and transferred to Dinthill Technical High School. Endowed with superlative talents and adorned in unparalleled sportsmanship, his passion for the game of soccer compelled him to exert his natural ability in the positions of link and defense. Physical activity was a thrill for Lenny. A fringe benefit of his active and dynamic lifestyle was an incredible physique. After satisfying all specified requirements and thus successfully completing the secondary level of education, Lenny sought and secured gainful employment for several years as a bartender at the renowned Club Caribbean Resort in Salem, Runaway Bay, Jamaica. Later, uninhibited by and unafraid of change, Lenny migrated to the United States where he ultimately made his abode in Miami Gardens, Florida formerly known as Carol City. Traveling presented him with the enterprising venture of occupying newfound domains, thus, he relocated to Dorchester near Boston (Massachusetts) in order to dwell in close proximity to his brother Michael. By every gauge of measurement, he was a productive and fruitful citizen. His work habits were meticulous and his employers attested to this through recognition and reward systems. An immaculate man, Lenny always ensured that things were tidy and pristine. He took great pride in his personal appearance as he fathomed that aesthetic appeal was an asset to the overall character. He was a kind-hearted individual who took his responsibilities and obligations seriously. He postulated that accountability was a necessary variable in our daily routine. Holding on to that principle, Lenny was always punctual to work as well as to other appointments. He is esteemed greatly by friends, family and all who were privileged to be in his acquaintance. Lenny was a staunch family man; he valued his children, siblings, nephews, nieces, and other relatives. Cherishing his memory are his offspring; son Lenworth Jr.; daughters– Taj-Marie and Antonette; as well as his grandson Toliver. Also holding him close to their hearts are his brothers - Michael
and Clasford (Diddy); sisters - Cicilyn (Betty), Etta, Marlene, and Diane (Junie); grandnephew and Best Pal – Joshua; grandniece Tori, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. (1 Corinthians 9:24 NASB) …Holding fast the Word of Life, so that in the day of Christ, I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain. (Philippians 2:16 NASB) Devout in his love for the Lord, Lenny was baptized in the name of Jesus on November 18, 2007 and received the Holy Ghost on January 23, 2008. After giving his life to the Lord, Lenny accepted the spiritual promise and was confident that heaven would be his reward. Lenny’s transformation was unequivocally aligned with the Word of our Lord. Prior to his personal acceptance of Jesus as his Savior, he was an avid reader of the Word of God. Before the dawn had its morning onset, he would rise early and read his Bible, and before the day would succumb to the night sky, he would again search the Bible and find consolation in the words of our Lord. During the midnight and early morning hours, one could find Lenny engrossed in the Word of God. The Word of the Lord became life and light in Lenny’s life. He made it his personal mission to evangelize to his friends, family, and anyone who would lend him their ear, always compelling others to come to Christ. He was also known for always declaring blessings on his family. Bless Sista Betty! Bless Alicia! Bless Joshua! Bless Mike! Bless Sista Marlene! Bless Diddy! Bless Aunty Juni! And the list was endless. He lived a life that reflected God and was committed to serve the King. He enjoyed prayer and made it his dutiful responsibility to be at “First Fruits Prayer” on Sunday mornings. As the scripture has informed us – man born to woman has but a few days. Lenny knew that the Word of God is flawless; therefore, he could accept his transition with comfort because he knew awaiting him on the other side was a caring God with open arms.
A Choice to Celebrate Annette Taylor-Spence
Do you mourn as if my living was in vain? Is there no joy now, only grief and pain? Did I live as if there was no tomorrow? Is that why there is such great sorrow? But if my life was lived with passion and purpose If there was more than was seen on the surface If I served mankind and fulfilled the master’s call Then rejoice! Celebrate! Children of God - stand tall! I have gone home to my eternal rest No more for me this earthly quest My duty is done - assignment complete On to glory where my savior I’ll meet So don’t weep for me as if there is no hope I trusted in Jesus who helped me to cope Once a sinner I was destined for wrath But I surrendered to Jesus and got on the right path I give you Jesus - my savior and friend Choose Him today and secure your end Give Him your life - make Him your choice Respond to Him as you hear His voice
REMEMBERING MY BROTHER From Etta
I remember my brother Lenworth Housen aka Lenny Bop who always encouraged me to “stay in the faith.” He always said “even though it may seem rough, just continue praising him.” I remember when we were growing up and Marlene (another sister) and I would be playing with our friends; Lenny would say, “pickney it is time to stop the playing and make sure the housework finish!” Marlene would respond, “You’re too miserable, leave us alone!” and then continue playing. On one occasion we went to the river to catch shrimp but when we returned home he “beat” us for not listening. I also remember another time when he came in from playing football and he thought Betty (sister - Cicilyn) had cooked dinner but there was none. Betty was laying down reading and he reprimanded her until she got up and made porridge. While the rest of us were upset, Lenny just ate it with thanks. Lenny was very strict yet he was still loving & kind. He was protective and caring of his nieces, Alicia & Shanika, they were not allowed to leave the house. Instead, they had to “take up their books” and he personally supervised that. If he let them play, he would sit on the verandah (patio) and watch them. Lenny, being a Christian, was humble, faithful, and always greeted others with a bible verse. He has surely left a mark and will truly be missed by everyone. I am sorry that I could not be there, but I send condolences from myself, the family, and friends in Jamaica. “I don’t believe an accident of birth makes people sisters or brothers. It makes them siblings, gives them mutuality of parentage. Sisterhood and brotherhood is a condition people have to work at.” Maya Angelou

A Reason to Celebrate‌ For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (I Thess. 4:16-18)
