Eric taught as a Visiting Lecturer at Akademin Valand from 2007-2013, teaching in the field of Artistic Publishing/ Printmaking, as publishing is the basis of his personal artistic activity. Eric has a typographic press in his basement, used to print relief/ lithography, often taking the final form of a 'zine or artists' book. Additionally, Eric prints large format works-on-paper at Konstnärernas Kollektivverkstad, to be used in large-scale, site specific installations. He is also teaching a range of adult-education courses at KKV, in printmaking. Eric has been involved in several collaborative curatorial and exhibition projects through his work at Grafik i Väst, which he considered to be an important aspect and extension of his artistic practice. About Waverly: Waverly Weiqun Liu was born and raised in a southern coastal town in China, and educated at California College of Arts and Crafts (now California College of the Arts) and Brown University, Waverly has spent half a lifetime in both the East and West, therefore, feels at home in both side of the world. Moving from place to place as a global nomad, she explores time, memory, and the loss of it through her work. Watching the rapid development of China quickly erasing the hills and rivers of her childhood memory, she has been making works that preserve memory and time, capturing and immortalizing moments of history. Combining the Western method of etching, printmaking, watercolor and her Chinese sensibility, she has invented her own artistic language filled with symbols and metaphors from her childhood. Waverly’s works have been included in exhibitions and collections in organizations and private collections around the United States and China, Japan, Ukraine. Alongside her own artistic practice, she has devoted her time to promoting international artistic exchange and dialogue through writing, curating, and now, running a gallery space. Links to some galleries: One in Hangzhou (an hour by train south of Shanghai, where the famed "China Academy of Art” is located), San Shang Art Center does not have a website, but a search on the web yields some images of the space, this is a previous show they did http://news.artxun.com/bumianyou-1726-8628931.shtml Another is in Guangzhou (2 hours by train north of Hong Kong, where "Guangzhou Academy of Art” is located).
