“We’re off to a wonderful start for the year. Our October General Meeting was great with wonderful food prepared by Jean Van Schaick and her committee and beautiful decorations created by Debbie Beaudin and her committee! Our speakers, Debbie Dobbs from the Grand Prairie Arts Council and Jacque Mendoza from the Uptown Theater were delightful and provided us with great information. Brenda Skinner was able to get our directories for the October meeting, so if you weren’t able to attend the general meeting, your directory is at the club.
If you missed the “Elegant Designed Tables” event, you missed a wonderful display of tables from our designers! Jackie Blackburn’s and Vivian Vance’s hard work payed off in the success of the event! Thanks to all who designed tables, prepared food, came and worked for 2 days and supported the event through ticket purchases! The proceeds will greatly benefit our scholarship fund! It was such a success, plans are to have it again next year! Can you believe our December General Meeting and Christmas Auction is only a little over a month away? Chair Janice Pribble and her Committee have been working diligently to insure the success of this year’s auction! We can use your new or gently used items, gift cards and cash donations to use to purchase auction items. You may bring your items to the Club beginning Wednesday, October 27, from 9 am to 3 pm during the week. Remember our Bake Sale and we look forward to all of your great baked goodies to sell at the Auction. We have sacks at the club with a printed sheet of items needed for donation to United Charities to help make Thanksgiving wonderful for a family in need. You can pick up and return your filled sacks to the club through November 12. I would be remiss if I did not thank Sara Dedeluk for the fantastic newsletters she creates each month and Cindy Tarrant for the email blasts she sends out at a moments notice to advise us of need to know information. We are so fortunate to have these two ladies! Blessings for each of you and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

The Woman’s Club of Grand Prairie is planning its annual Christmas silent auction event at the Woman’s Club building on December 3, 2021. We are currently seeking donations to assist in our endeavor. The club provides educational and charitable benefits to the people of Grand Prairie by providing scholarships to Grand Prairie graduating seniors each year. The club also provides donations to other non-profit and philanthropic organizations in the city including Kids I.N.C. In addition, the Woman’s Club of Grand Prairie donates to several other worthy causes in the community. The club relies on donations from club members as well as businesses to help provide items for our auction. If you could assist us in this endeavor, the club would be most appreciative. The Woman’s Club of Grand Prairie is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.
