This is the tour for those who want to explore the Faroe Islands by car. It gives you the freedom to travel around the small villages, see the fantastic views and investigate the local events, all at your own pace. Flights, car hire and accommodation are all pre-booked and we also provide suggestions for photostops and activities – you have the time and freedom to choose. DAY 1: Arrival to the Faroe Islands. Pick up your hire car at the airport and enjoy the rest of the day on Vágar island. Drive to the village of Gásadalur, walk along the marked path, enjoy the impressive view of Tindhólm, and the attractive waterfall that runs down into the sea. Overnight on Vágar. DAY 2: We suggest a day trip to the bird island of Mykines. Enjoy an impressive sailing trip alongside the majestic sea cliffs. On the island you will see the charming puffins with their colourful red beaks and the striking gannets that only breed on Mykines. Overnight in Tórshavn DAY 3: Take the ferry from Tórshavn to the island of Suðuroy. The nature on Suðuroy is particularly well suited to hiking. We recommend visiting the lighthouse at Akraberg on the southernmost tip of the island and also Beinisvørð, to enjoy the magnificent panorama that unfolds when you get to the top. The village of Famjin is also well worth a visit. Overnight on Suðuroy.
DAY 4: Return to Tórshavn. Walk through the old town and soak up the atmosphere of the small houses with grass roofs. The old town is unique, not only in the Faroes but in the entire world. We recommend a visit to Kirkjubøur, which is the historical and cultural centre. In Tórshavn, you will find many different restaurants and cafés where you can enjoy excellent food. Overnight in Tórshavn.
