Shirley

A: I need someone to copy this file for me.

I’ll do it./I’ll take care of it.。

• A: I can’t fix this bike.

B: Don’t worry. Leave it to me.

B: OK. I’ll take care of it.

Gina gave her boyfriend the cold shoulder.

• I don’t know why Eddie gave me the cold shoulder.

The news about the good economy was just a false dawn.

(Something) is a letdown.

• I really hoped that the movie would be good, but

it was a big letdown. 10

Corrections

修正

1. some popcorn

3. talk too much

• I ate lots of popcorn, so I had a stomachache. • This tea has a little sugar.

• I think you sleep too much. • I love you so much.

4. Nick got angry at the man.

2. in front of vs. in the front of 兩者差異如下:

A is in front of B.

A is in the front of B.

指 A 在 B 內部的前側 (A 是 B 的一部分)

• There is a dog in

front of the car.

V. + too/so/very much 來表示,例 如 常 見 的 Thank you very much!「 非 常 感 謝 你!」,too much/so much/very much 的位置通常在句尾。

• Ruby is sitting in

the front of the car.

go + adj. (I’m going to go crazy!)等三種情況,而談到有關一般的「情緒、感受」 時, 則 會 用 get 或 become, 如 文 中 的 get angry 或 get/ become bored。 • Anne’s boyfriend got/became jealous. • Beethoven wrote many songs after he went deaf.

5. Please be quiet. • Please be nice to my friend. • Please give me that pencil.

在此作者欲表達「坐在瑪麗前面的人」,因此要說 the person in front of Mary 才正確。
