Obama

wins second term.。

Obama takes key battlegrounds to win re-election

“This happened because of you. Thank you.”

“The best is yet to come.”

Tina

Corrections

Annie’s Mailbox

修正

1. . . . which/that everyone will like.

is a beautiful island. { Taiwan Everyone will like the beautiful island. where 是關係「副詞」,不能用來代替名詞;要代替先前提 過的名詞 beautiful island,要用關係「代名詞」which/ that,所以全句要寫成 Taiwan is a beautiful island which/that everyone will like. • I received a card which/that Jane sent two days ago.

3. They will greet you, although they have never met you. 作 者 原 文 “They will greet you, although you have never met each other.” They will greet you, although they have never met you. • Although I’m not familiar with Mike, I still talk to

him. • People in this country are happy although they

are poor.

2. scenery vs. view scenery [ `sin4r6 ] n. (U)

view [ vju ] n. (C)

• I love the scenery in

• The view from this

the countryside.

window is beautiful.

• The scenery in

Thailand is very pretty.

• There is a nice view

from the top of Taipei 101.

4. come vs. go go:去(指從現在的位置移動到某處)

• Come to my office after five o’clock. • Jerry will go to the hospital tomorrow morning.

5. . . . and find its good points by yourself? advantage [ 4d`v1nt6d. • Josh has many good points. He’s friendly,

handsome and funny.

• That basketball player has an advantage because he’s very tall.

Last July, South Korean singer PSY released* a video1 called Gangnam Style. Today, his video is an international hit. It is the most watched and “liked” video on YouTube. Many other famous people, like Britney Spears, Tom Cruise, and members2 of Maroon 5 are praising3 PSY. The most famous part of Gangnam Style is the unique and funny “horse -riding” dance. PSY does the dance in places where people usually don’t dance. He does it in a parking lot,4 a playground,5 a sauna,* and other places. It’s probably the most famous dance today. PSY is special for another reason. 6 Very few Asian singers become popular in Europe and the United States. But people all over Europe and the U.S.A. love to do PSY’s “horse-riding” dance.
