Remodelers Council Celebrating 30 Years!

We kicked off the year with a 30th Anniversary Celebration in January at World of Beer…pictured are some of our past Council Chairs in attendance!

May is National Home Remodeling Month Join us in promoting professional remodeling throughout the month. It’s the perfect opportunity to bring added attention to the benefits of hiring a professional remodeler for home renovations and improvements. Share your remodeling photos using the hashtag #GreensboroRemodelers. According to NAHB, the median age of the American home is 38 years old. Add to that the growing popularity of television programs featuring dramatic home renovations, it helps explain why Americans are spending an estimated $148 billion on home remodeling each year. Remodeling offers numerous benefits to home owners who want to change their living environment without uprooting their family and moving. Home improvements can add more space for a growing family or aging parent, improve energy efficiency and increase the resale value of your home. As a remodeler, we encourage you to consider participating in our 21st annual Tour of Remodeled Homes to showcase professional renovations.

Tour of Remodeled Homes August 4-5

GREENSBORO BUILDERS ASSOCIATION - BUILDER UPDATE

You can find additional information explaining the reasons for this proposal, along with a Fact Sheet that outlines what happens next on the GBA website under News. As stated in the Fact Sheet, if legislation is approved by the 2019 General Assembly, CE requirements would not become effective until 2020 at the earliest. The NC Licensing Board for General Contractors will be responsible for administering this program. NCHBA will work closely with NCLBGC and other industry stakeholders to develop an effective and reasonable CE program. Throughout the development process, we will be conducting Builder Roundtables to provide input as well as stay abreast of updates and proposed action items. For additional information, contact Phil Warrick, GBA member and NCHBA President Elect.

Build Strong…Build PAC To continue to maintain our effectiveness in Raleigh and locally… we need to increase our contributions to NC BUILD-PAC…which are an investment in the future of our business and the building industry as a whole. It is essential that we are able to support candidates that understand and will fight for issues important to us. The Political Action Committee of the North Carolina Home Builders Association (NC BUILD-PAC) is a non-partisan committee organized for the specific purpose of raising funds to support pro-housing candidates of all parties at the state and local levels of government. Thirty percent of funds raised are used to support local city and county candidates. We will be interviewing Guilford County Commissioner candidates and providing financial support to those that understand and are willing to advocate for the building industry. We encourage all GBA members to make a contribution this year. Donations must be made from your personal account. Corporate checks are not allowed. Pledge forms can be found on the GBA website as well as the NCHBA website. Our local HBA number is # 3440. Payments can be made online at the NCHBA website.
