ith continued unknowns as we deal with the impact of this pandemic eighteen months later…we remain fortunate to be classified as an essential industry…as well have extremely strong interest in both new construction and renovations. Housing inventory is at an all time low…and remodeling projects can be 6-9 months out at a minimum. Building material prices and their availability continue to escalate…as well as the shortage of skilled labor…yet our members and industry partners are working together to make the very best of a challenging situation for which we say Thank You! One of the many benefits of our 3-in-1 membership is having local, state and national lobbying efforts that support our industry…from addressing city and county planning and inspection concerns to state and national advocacy. There are hundreds of companies that are actively working in our area that benefit from our advocacy that are not members. Please review your vendor list and encourage at least 1-2 of these companies to join our Association this fall. We need greater industry participation and financial support to continue our advocacy efforts throughout this pandemic so that we can remain an essential industry. The good news through all of this…is that area consumers are still actively looking to build, buy, and remodel their homes…which bodes well for our Builder and Associate members. We are pleased to be able to present both a Virtual TOUR of Remodeled Homes which launched September 1st…and our Fall Parade of Homes which will be held October 9-10 & 16-17 with a mixture of traditional open houses as well as virtual tours for all entries. Association events are being held both virtually and in-person. It was great to have in-person gatherings this summer as part of our First Wednesday Member Connections. This fall we have several events planned that we hope you will be able to participate…from additional member socials…to CE classes…to golf and skeet tournaments.

Fall Parade of Homes PARADE OF HOMES Greensboro Builders Association

Fall Parade of Homes will be held on Saturday & Sunday, O urOctober 9-10 & 16-17 showcasing 26 newly constructed homes with a mixture of traditional open houses along with some Parade homes being virtual tour only.

Open Houses Homes will open from 1-5 pm…admission is free. The ability to physically tour Parade homes will be based on regulatory guidelines and protocols in place at the time of the Parade. Download our free Greensboro Parade of Homes APP - for your Apple and/or Android phone - to access information on Parade entries, including driving directions between homes.

Virtual Tours Matterport tours are being provided by Triad New Home Guide for all our Fall Parade homes. This is a great benefit for consumers to begin their search, as well as for anyone uncomfortable or unavailable to tour the homes during the Parade. Links to the virtual tours remain on the GBA website for six months.

Promote the Parade Join us in promoting the Parade of Homes by sharing information on your website and social media pages, including the link to the Parade magazine. Information can be found on the GBA website; our Greensboro Builders Association Facebook page; as well as our Greensboro Builders Instagram, Twitter and YouTube channel. Parade magazines are available at all sponsor locations…as well as area grocery stores and outside Lowe’s Home Improvement stores. Builder News Continuing Education for General Contractors

Associates EXPO Thursday, October 7 4:30 – 6:30 pm

NC General Contractors are required to complete 8 hours of continuing education annually for license renewal. There is a 2-hour mandatory course along with 6 hours of electives required. As an approved NC Licensing Board for General Contractors education provider, GBA is offering CE courses with discounted pricing for GBA members. You have the option to register for a full day (8 hours) or select different dates for morning and/or afternoon sessions. We are offering the following NC Builder Institute (NCBI) courses along with the required mandatory course. At this time, the following courses are scheduled to be held virtually via Zoom.
