f you are planning to buy a home but not quite ready to view several dozen homes in person, start by looking at homes online. Utilize our website to view Matterport Virtual Tours of all Parade entries. Below are a few tips to help you organize and support your virtual house hunt. Create a List If you are navigating various websites or watching hours of home videos online, make a list of the homes you enjoyed viewing. Keep notes of the listing descriptions so you’ll be able to easily compare properties when you are ready to narrow down your list. Don’t forget to make a list of questions about the property you may have for the Builder or Realtor. Review Floor Plans When you are not physically walking through the home, it might be challenging to visualize the space by only scrolling through photos and/or the virtual tour. You can view floor plans of all Parade homes on each entry page. You can also find floor plans on builder websites. Once you have an idea of the layout and size of the space, you’ll be able to get a better grasp of the photos or videos of the home. Research the Neighborhood Not all websites with home listings will give you a sense of the neighborhood. To help get a complete profile of the home and make an informed decision about the area around your home, conduct a general online search about the neighborhood to learn about the activities that happen in the area or the local school system. The American Dream In 2020, during the onslaught of Covid, I found the property that would become known as Sunset Oaks. I fell in love with the land the first time I walked it. Almost immediately, I had the vision for what it could become. A lot of American families dream of creating a “compound” for family and friends, and the environment today supports this more than ever. My family and I felt like this property would be the perfect setting for us to create our own private community. The property is 45 acres, just north of Kernersville, and had been a working tobacco farm for several decades. The land had been owned by the same family since the early 1800s. Lack of resources and neglect left the property in much disrepair. After acquisition, I spent the first year working on property cleanup and preparing the infrastructure for our community. Our team dismantled and repurposed three barns, renovated one barn for a central hub of operation, opened wood lines, created roads to individual sites, and established power and utilities within the property. I invested a lot of time and thought into how the property would be divided. Using the natural topography of the land, we created a natural rural setting for each home and maintained space and privacy for each household. In May of 2021, Creative Building Group broke ground on three of the four homes in Sunset Oaks. We now have all three homes complete and the fourth is set to start this summer. The homes were designed and built to maximize each individual setting, and to bring a level of luxury that complements the property. With every detail considered, even specific plants were chosen for each home to enhance the property’s long-term sustainability. The Sunset Oaks community takes great pride in its simple aggregate roads, long open sight lines, summer sunflower fields, wildlife, and a country setting for peace and relaxation.
