Greensboro Country Club November | December 2019

General Manager/COO's Message (336) 275-8506

Dear Members, With the Renovation project at a “pause,” Operations is taking the stance of using what we currently have and mixing it up. Today’s Member wants to enjoy their Club on many levels, but most of all have fun, be with friends, entertain family and guests, and enjoy the sense of “community” that GCC has to offer.

On a more strategic level and serious note, we face the National labor shortage along with everyone. How will we respond? We will look at our operations at all levels. We much prefer to have success in smaller outlets with positive experiences, than numerous outlets with major problems and bad experiences everywhere.

November | December 2019

While in this mode we (the Board, committees and management team) see themselves as stewards of the Club for the future health and growth. This allows GCC As with any good organization this will not happen by to prosper and adjust to the ever-changing world. We accident. We need to plan - learn from the past are faced with many challenges and will continue to be and plan for the future. The team at GCC has a clear faced with challenges. As they say, it is not what hapmission and defined purpose. The GCC Mission states, pens to you, it is what you do about it. "To be the premier Country Club in the Triad by providing a full range of outstanding, dining, recreational and Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy social opportunities for our Members, their families Hanukkah! and guests in exceptional settings at both Irving park and Farm Campuses." Key words and phrases from the Sincerely, Mission Statement (full range of dining, recreational, social opportunities, families) drive decisions for the Terra S.H. Waldron, CCM, CCE road map to prioritize resources and inspire the staff to General Manager/COO execute the programs. We need to stand behind the Mission as the foundation for our decisions. As we reflected on the past, we were able to introduce old favorites, new trends, and something for all generations in all areas. A slight recap... we opened the pool later on weekends, extended water aerobics into October, added Darts in the winter, Duplicate Bridge at the Farm, Tennis for the more competitive player, Golf's Operation 36 increased and Fitness programs diversified. The golf courses continue to be maintained at a high level for your enjoyment. We will continue to look for additional programs to enhance your experience. Now for dining – we are adding a Friday night gathering with drink specials and complimentary hors d’oeuvres in the Sunset Bar. We will feature Prime Rib with various cuts on Saturdays at the IP campus and more tapas-type sharing items. We heard you - and want you BACK!

The Men’s Leagues are Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoons. We only take 24 members for each one of the days. If you did not get a chance to be a part of those 24 players, we can put you on a sub list as members are looking for subs weekly. Come be a part of the new crazed sport at GCC! We will also be organizing a men’s league January through February. This will give you a chance to be a part of weekly paddle tennis and the opportunity to socialize with other paddle players.
