Kevin Baker wakes up every morning trying to figure out how to bring innovative companies to Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, North Carolina. Baker became the Executive Director of PTI in 2010 after 20 years in the airport consultant world. Prior to Baker’s start as Executive Director, there were already happenings at PTI: FedEx selected it for its Mid-Atlantic hub and Honda Aircraft Company announced it would be its global headquarters. HAECO also calls PTI home to its North American Headquarters, and Cessna has operated one of its busiest service centers there since the early 1990s. Then, in January 2022, Boom Supersonic announced that PTI would be home to its Overture Superfactory — and a year later in January 2023, construction began on the site, an important milestone ahead of launching Overture production in 2024. $28 per person | Guests Are Welcome Please see complete menu on the GCC website or mobile app. Cocktails by Member Signature 72-Hour Cancellation Policy in Effect Reservations are required. Visit the website, mobile app or call the receptionist at (336) 275-8506 to make your reservation.

Fitness, Health & Wellness (336) 691-5825
Member Spotlight: Brey Curtis You come to the Fitness Center and work out just about every day. How do you keep yourself motivated on those days that you just don’t feel like exercising?
When something becomes almost like a habit you do it without really thinking about it. Exercising is no different. Sometimes it's tough if I don't sleep well the night before or my back is sore, but I find that if I go in and get a good stretch and then workout, I'll feel more energized the rest of the day.
Many people hesitate to work out on their own because they aren’t sure what exactly to do. What is method to creating a balanced workout?
Workout for a few weeks with a trainer or someone who really knows what they're doing. That way you can learn a nice routine that works out all the muscle groups you want to cover. I remember years ago when I first started and had no idea what to do, I worked out with an experienced lifter who gave me multiple workout routines to try so I could develop a routine, or multiple routines, of my own. He also showed me the proper way to do each exercise and taught me that heavy weight isn't always the smartest way to go (especially as you get older).
How has your approach, or mentality, to working out shifted over the years, if at all?
I don’t try to work out with as much weight as I did in my 20s and 30s. Some of my back issues now are probably due to lifting too heavy when I was younger. It took me a while but now I understand that less weight with more reps is just as beneficial as loading the bar up with super heavy weight. And it's much easier on my body.
What are some of your favorite exercises?
I do a pretty standard regimen that I mix up a little bit every now and again to keep it fresh. I love arm day (of course) but most of the exercises I choose are based on going as easy as possible on my biceps. I had biceps tendonitis a few years ago and it took me forever to get rid of it so I'm very particular about the biceps exercises I do. I don't do a lot of regular barbell and dumbbell curls-- I'll do two or three sets of dumbbell hammer curls along with resistance band work and cable machine biceps and triceps exercises.
What kind of music is on your workout playlist?
Santa’s Workshop Workout Saturday, December 16 | 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. | Fitness Center
Come to Santa’s Workshop where kids and adults can celebrate the holiday season! We will do a workout with Santa Claus himself and his elves, followed by mystery presents from Santa! $15 per person | Children 5-years-old and under are complimentary. Complimentary if you have a Monthly Class Pass.
November | December 2023
I have an app on my phone called ReListen that is an archive for jam band concerts. You can choose a band and hit Random, and it will pull up a random concert by that band. I'll usually pull up the Grateful Dead, Widespread Panic, Dave Matthews Band, Joe Russo's Almost Dead, or Dark Star Orchestra and listen to a random concert each day.
