Dear Members, We appreciate the Members' unwavering support in all areas of the Club through the COVID-19 pandemic, especially now with the Delta variant upon us. To state that the staff is appreciative and touched is an understatement. We have been told by many Members that they feel safe at their Club. Housekeeping and the staff in general take pride in making your home away from home safe, secure and sanitary.

Men’s Paddle League
It’s time to get ready for the Paddle League. You will find this league is fun, exciting and a great way to meet Members and play paddle tennis. The league will be offered on Wednesday night and Sunday afternoon, beginning November 3rd. Registration will open on October 11th and will have a maximum of 24 players for Wednesday and 24 players for Sunday. If you are unable to sign up as one of the 24 players, we will have a sub list in which you can be placed. The league will run for four weeks. Mark your calendar for Registration on October 11th. Registration will be online only. Let’s get ready to play paddle!

Farm Indoor Courts
Indoor court season at the Farm begins Monday, November 1st. Indoor court times are still available! When playing tennis at the Farm indoor facility, please wear proper tennis attire and proper tennis shoes. Running shoes or cross training black-soled shoes are not permitted. Please remember to turn off cell phones on the indoor courts. Please clean shoes of any excess soft court material.

2021 Gentlemen's Senior Club Championship Results
June 26-27, 2021
The 2021 Gentlemen’s Senior Club Championship was won in dramatic fashion by Mark Rainosek. After shooting a 2-under par first round at Irving Park, Mr. Rainosek played steady golf at The Farm to keep his opponents at arm’s length for most of the day. Unfortunately, while up by three strokes on the final hole of the tournament, he played a wrong ball in the fairway. This warranted the ‘general penalty’ of two strokes, and he went back to his original ball to play up towards the green, eventually making a 7 on the par-5 finishing hole. Meanwhile, Gary Rankin hit two fantastic shots to get onto the green in two, then two-putted for a birdie to force a playoff. The two matched with pars on the first playoff hole before Mr. Rainosek two-putted for par for the win on their second playoff hole. This then left Dr. Rankin in a tie for the overall Net Champion, which he won in one hole of a second playoff! Also of note, James Schlosser used a driver on the 3rd hole to make a hole-in-one during the tournament! This was his second hole-in-one, 60 years after he hade the first one as a young boy at Irving Park. It was a fun story to cap off a great weekend for the Men’s Senior Club Championship.
Golf Lessons With families back in town for the school year, we are seeing more and more demand for instruction. Our Operation 36 programs are as popular as ever this fall, and the interest in private lessons has been very high.

Robbie and Anne Marie are teaching as much as ever, so be sure to get in their lesson books early if you are looking for time with them. If you are looking for a quick tune up or you’re thinking about taking a lesson for the first time, remember that the assistant professionals are also outstanding instructors! We have a great team that has experience helping golfers to learn a new shot, get rid of a fault in their game, or just have more fun on the course. Enjoy this fall golf season as temperatures cool off and we get to some of the best weather of the year!

2021 Junior Club Championship
August 3-5, 2021
The 2021 Junior Club Championship was a huge success, with 68 total junior golfers participating in Stroke Play and Match Play! In the Match Play Championship, Chase Daly took down Charlie Plate in the Championship Match. Chase was on fire all day, going 5 under par to close out the match on the 14th hole. As the winner of the event, Chase had his name engraved onto the Junior Championship sword! In the Stroke Play Championship, Freddy Ortmann shot a blistering 65 on day 1 to take a 4-shot lead over Chase Daly. Our tournament committee set up the golf course as difficult as possible on day 2, and Freddy shot a 73 to finish the 36-hole event at 4 under par. Freddy won the coveted green jacket, as well as a spot in the Gentlemen’s Club Championship in October.
