Ladies' Day Travel Series
Ladies' Play with the Pro Winners
GCC joined forces with the ladies’ golf program from Forsyth Country Club to host a "home and home" series at the Farm one week, then traveled to Winston-Salem to play the following week Both courses were in abso lutely wonderful condition and everyone enjoyed the camaraderie with their new friends at lunch afterwards!
We introduced a brand-new event to our lady golfers this year called "Play with the Pro." Each of our Golf Professionals played with three ladies for an 18-hole round of golf, counting the best net ball on each hole and competing against each of the other teams.
The team of BooBoo Watkins, April Parker, Ann Davenport and Davis Agnew shot a score of (-15) to win by a single stroke! As their prize, the group will enjoy a complimentary away round of golf at a location of their choosing. Congratulations, ladies!
Greensboro Country Club’s very own Lee Porter has been playing some outstanding golf! Mr. Porter fin ished solo second in the British Sr. Amateur Cham pionship earlier in July! Pictured with Mr. Porter is his wife and caddy, Michelle Porter as well as Neil Hampton (left), General Manager of Royal Dornoch and Willie McKay (right), the Club Captain (Presi dent) of Royal Dornoch, the club that played host to the championship Mr Porter’s exceptional golf has also qualified him for the USGA Senior Amateur Championship later this year at The Kittansett Club in Marion, MA
Congratulations,LeePorter!
The Junior Club Championship is the best week of golf each year! Roughly 40 junior golfers came out to compete in three days of match play followed by two days of stroke play to earn the bragging rights of being a JCC Match Play or JCC Stroke Play Champion!
The unique aspect of the Junior Club Champion ship is all of the fun the juniors have each evening after the golf - such as dunking a golf pro in a dunk tank, bouncing around at SkyZone Trampoline Park, enjoying a baseball game at the Greensboro Grass hoppers, catching a movie, and getting dressed up at the “Champions Dinner.”
We would like to congratulate Jack Strickland on cap turing The Championship Sword for the Match Play title and Ben Jordan securing the Green Jacket in the Stroke Play Championship! If you did not catch the action during the week, feel free to go to @gccgolf shop on Instagram to view some of the highlights!

Junior Development classes will stress the FUNda mentals while teaching the BEST way to play tennis Smaller courts/nets, and slower bouncing tennis balls may be used by our "Fun Technicians" which will allow the kids to "play" tennis sooner The name of the class refers to the e type of ball that is used.
