COO/General Manager's Message
(336) 275-8506
Dear Members,
It is with great excitement and a sense of accomplishment that I write to you, marking my one-year anniversary as the General Manager of Greensboro Country Club In this short span of time, we have witnessed remarkable changes and progress together I am happy to say that we completed the renovation of our beloved clubhouse and introduced several fantastic additions to enhance your experience.
Our culinary journey has been a delightful adventure. Only nine months ago we opened 1909 and the Family Grill, offering diverse menus, wonderful atmosphere and impeccable service The Sunset Restaurant opened one month later with a concept providing a unique, weekly changing menu based on your valuable feedback and the seasonal bounty
Among the recent promotions, our Burger and Wine Night in Sunset has become a member favorite We are always exploring new ways to please your palate, and I'm thrilled to announce that we are rolling out a new wine list, expanding our selection of wines by the glass. Recently we added our delightful Sunday Night Dinner Buffet in 1909 and Family Grill, featuring our traditional fried chicken and other alltime member favorite comfort foods. Coming up this month is a fun-filled Dueling Piano Night, which promises to be an unforgettable experience.
One of the ongoing challenges in the hospitality industry is staffing, training and retention. As summer draws to a close, we bid farewell to some exceptional seasonal staff members who have contributed significantly to making your summers memorable. To our departing team, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for spending time with us and making our club an extraordinary place
Recruitment and training continue to be a priority as we aim to provide you with exceptional service. We invest in our employees, training them to cater to your needs and preferences, building a strong rapport, and remembering your names, just to name a few highlights of their training In return, we promise our staff that they will be valued, respected, and treated with courtesy and respect It is heartening to note that your feedback has shown a clear correlation between members' positive experiences and their connection with our team.
Greensboro Country Club strives to be an extension of your home, where you feel like family. Your active involvement and support are crucial in fostering a deeper connection among our members and staff. When you take the time to know our team members and genuinely care about them, they are even more motivated to go above and beyond to provide exceptional experiences for you.
In this regard, I deeply appreciate the continuous feedback, suggestions, and ideas you have shared to improve our Club's operations. Your involvement has guided me through my first year and helped me better understand the essence of the south, making Greensboro Country Club your preferred destination for all your recreational and dining activities.
As we look back on this momentous year of transformation and growth, we are reminded of the strong bond we share as members of Greensboro Country Club With your unwavering support, we have accomplished so much, and we eagerly anticipate an even brighter future.
Thank you for being an essential part of the Club's journey, and for making Greensboro Country Club a place of warm camaraderie, cherished memories and exceptional experiences. We are committed to continuously enhancing your time here and are excited to unveil more incredible additions in the months ahead.
Warm regards,
Friedrich Eder, CCM, CCE Chief Operating Officer/General ManagerMembership Message

Member Spotlight: Dallas Cooke 17 Years Old
You come to the Fitness Center and work out just about every day. How do you keep yourself motivated on those days that you just don’t feel like exercising?
Dallas describes working out as something he GETS to do, not something he HAS to do. Having this mindset allows him to take a lot of the pressure off the idea of exercising so that he can enjoy himself and make working out the part of his day that he looks forward to most. Dallas is also an athlete, which gives him an extra layer of motivation to improve!
Many people hesitate to work out on their own because they aren’t sure what exactly to do. What is your method to creating a balanced workout?
When Dallas first began working out on his own, Dallas observed other members in the facility that seemed to be very experienced. He says he would take note of what exercises they were doing, how they laid out their workouts, and what results it seemed to give, then would adjust these workouts to fit him and his goals. By doing this, Dallas is now fully independent when he comes into the facility and is comfortable planning and executing his own workouts.
What are some of your favorite exercises?
Dallas enjoys working shoulders the most, and legs the least. Some of his favorite machines/exercises are lateral raises, shoulder press, free weight bench, and the lat pull down machine.
What kind of music is on your workout playlist?
Dallas has curated three playlists to use while working out, each very different from one another. If he needs a little extra motivation, he listens to rap music to get him ready for his big lifts. He also has a country music playlist for the days that he is working easier areas. His third playlist is a combination or many genres of music, for those days that he just can’t decide.

Irving Park Parent-Child Tournament - June 18, 2023
The Parent-Child Tournament is always one of the best tournaments of the year. Parents and children team up to play a Modified Alternate Shot format that always keeps things interesting! Congratulations to the following flight winners:

11 – 12 Division: Annie & Peter Murphy
13 – 14 Division: Mallory & Ron Pitts

Hole in One!
A special congratulations is in store for Annie Murphy who made her first ever hole in one on hole number 3 at Irving Park with her pitching wedge during the tournament! Annie celebrated her outstanding accomplishment by enjoying a chocolate milkshake and listening to Taylor Swift for the rest of the round! Congratulations, Annie!
Gentlemen’s Senior Club Championship - June 24-25, 2023
38 golfers teed it up at both Irving Park and the Farm over the course of two days to compete for the Senior Club Championship. Congratulations for Fred Black, who earned his second consecutive Gross title and Jim Schlosser for taking home the Net title!
GCC hosted the 2023 Carolinas Open Championship at the Farm August 7-10, 2023 This championship is contested annually by many of the top club professionals throughout North and South Carolina, many amateurs who are members at clubs in the Carolinas, and collegiate players from teams throughout the Carolinas
There were 10 competitors in the field with ties to GCC, including members of the golf staff, grounds staff, and members of the Club. Five of these individuals made the cut including Assistant Professionals Justin Emmons (finished +2) and Ben Raff (+3), Director of Golf Tyler Gosselin (+5) and an employee from the greens maintenance department, Brock Elder (-4). But we are most excited because Noah Connor closed with two birdies to shoot 14-under par for the three rounds and win the Championship by two strokes! Noah attends UNCG where he plays on the varsity golf team, and he works at GCC part-time in the Golf Shop at Irving Park as well as helping to coach our members during the summer golf camps and the AllSports Camps. Congratulations, Noah!
