President’s Letter Dear friends, From the beginning, ASISA has been committed to offering quality healthcare by boosting its own nonprofit health model, based on reinvestment and focused on improving the health and welfare of more people everyday. Maintaining this formula involves growing in a sustainable manner, gaining financial strength and being competitive in a more and more complex market. That is why the results of 2014 are so important for our future: they consolidate five years of growth beyond our sector and place us in an optimal position to deal with the challenges we have to face. ASISA Group has been growing since 2010 in an arena that has not been easy for insurances as a whole, including Health Trade. In 2014, the insurance sector reduced its premiums once again. The Health Trade increased 3.44 %, which means almost a quarter of the total of non-life premiums, but such growth has slowed down, collective insurances have increased and profitability margins have reduced. ￟

4

In such an unstable scene, ASISA has gained market share one more time thanks to a 4.9 % increase in premiums that has allowed us, for the first time in our history, to exceed 1,000 million Euros in premiums. To achieve it, strong increases of private health policies were essential, allowing us to balance our portfolio and reduce losses, which have fallen 4.2 points since 2010. Growth makes us stronger; it makes us more competitive and allows us to keep our identity. Consolidating an average profit before tax over 30 million Euros, in the last five years 160.9 accumulated millions, is the basis that guarantees a more than sufficient investment level to keep improving the assistance quality of our hospitals and medical centres. However, growing up is not easy nowadays. Therefore, we need to extend our market in search for new opportunities that guarantee a better profitability, allowing us to maintain our distinguishing marks. This is the reason that has taken us to bet on expanding our horizons and starting to operate in other fields of insurance, now that we have the administrative authorizations required. Our position in health and dental insurance, together with the strong development of our commercial structure, are the best guarantee that we have for this new activity. Together with the extension of activities in the national market, we will boost the internationalization process that we started a few years ago. We are going to add Portugal, a market in which we will enter initially through the sale of dental policies, to our investments in Equatorial Guinea and Morocco. Besides, we will keep exploring the possibility of participating in new projects and operations in countries of Latin America, Eastern Europe and Near East. Nowadays, ASISA is ready to be ambitious when it comes to plan its future, as we have managed to be competitive in what we do. This is mainly due to the consolidation of a commercial network in the last years that combines multiple channels (self-owned direct networks, agents and brokers, specialists in large accounts and telephone and online sale) that has allowed us to extend our offer and increase the sale of healthcare, dental, life and accidents insurance products. In addition, we have consolidated the central position of clients in our strategy, improving management and personalizing attention systems. All these elements are essential to understand our development.

5

The dental business is an example of our growth, as in 2014 the number of policies increased 17 % with more than 300,000 insured. It was not easy to achieve these figures in a field where we entered later than other companies, but today ASISA Dental’s turnover, with 24 self-owned clinics, exceeds 20 million Euros. Besides its significant contribution to the profits of the Groups, ASISA Dental provides a very relevant qualitative contribution in terms of assistance, with clinics equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and procedures that comply with the highest international standards of excellence. It could not be otherwise in a company whose main value is assistance quality and whose main reference is our hospital group. The Group hospitals are the largest hospital network managed by an insurance company and an essential strategic asset for our Group and our future: they already invoice 255 million Euros, with roughly 3,000 employees, and help us in a decisive manner in cost control, especially after the introduction of the Green Cube comprehensive management system, that allows us to be more efficient and obtain better results. However, the time that we are living in the hospital industry, with a very important concentration movement that may modify the map of health service in our country, forces us to be more and more efficient. In this task, the incorporation of HLA Lavinia Salud, S.L., the holding company that will gather our hospitals, clinics and buildings, will allow us to create a sole hospital structure, with more solvency and financial independence and able to operate in a more and more competitive and concentrated market. This is not the only challenge we are dealing with. As our society and its consumption habits and preferences change, only those companies able to adapt themselves and reach to more clients with more and more adjusted structures will guarantee their survival. The formula to achieve it passes through innovation and change, adding value to what we do, developing better products to satisfy the clients’ specific requests, building loyalty with those who already trust in us, designing more efficient new management systems in all the stages of the business and looking for new opportunities to extend our business style. Future passes through excellence and innovation. If we manage to combine both elements, we will be able to compete and grow. That must be our objective.

6

Thank you very much to all those who have helped us to get here, as you will play an important role in our future; we would also like to give thanks to our CEO and Medical Director and all the managerial staff for their efforts and complete dedication.

Mr Francisco Ivorra Miralles Asisa-Lavinia President

SERVICES FOR THE INSURED CAC – Customer Service Centre Asisa Contrata (901 101 010) closed 22,237 new contracts in 2014.

Throughout the year 2014 the work team of the quality department specialized in detecting and treating those cases where the insured may have perceived that their expectations have not been fulfilled in a satisfactory manner. They received more than 500 applications. The total number of cases attended at the Customer Service Centre was 2,737,855 including calls, emails, SMS, fax and back office work. It is worth noting that they dealt with 367,027 authorizations.

The recently created Asisa Health professional Helpline attended 57,256 cases, including the management of the invoicing system, LINCE, and 593,112 transactions carried out through the automatic system (IVR). In the year 2014, Biscay joined the telephone authorizations service and Zaragoza, Barcelona and the office of Puerto de Santa MarĂa in Cadiz joined the immediate authorizations service. Through the 901 101 010 line (Asisa Contrata), we closed 22,237 agreements and more than 7,000 policies that had requested cessation were retained.

SAC - Customer Service In 2014 the number of complaints went down 45 %.

Customer Service has been established pursuant to the provisions of the Order ECO/734/2004 on customer departments and services and the customer ombudsman of financial entities, published in March 2004. Its operation has been described in the Regulation presented in the year 2005 before the Commissioner for Customer Defence (at the Insurance General Directorate). The Customer Service must deal with and solve the claims and complaints submitted by the policyholders with regard to their insurance contracts, a previous step to those that they may submit before the Commissioner for

the Defence of Financial Services Customers which, for insurance entities, is at the General Insurance and Pension Funds Directorate. In 2014 we reduced both the number of claims received, 0.20 per every thousand insured that may access this Service, vs. 0.29 in the financial year 2013, and the average resolution period, 45 days, vs. 47 in 2013, below the maximum established deadline of 2 months.

Redesigning the web

In 2014, the number of visits to the web page asisa.es experienced a 17 % growth, a very significant figure that confirms the efficiency of the website to which Asisa is assigning more and more resources.

With the increase of the visits, the number of registered users and due to the analysis of the contents most demanded by the insured and by potential clients, it was necessary to update the design of the web page, adjusting it to the new demands.

New registrations in the private area

The new design included a faster and more intuitive search engine for the medical staff, with the possibility of obtaining results in different formats, lists or maps, and the option of searching depending on the distance, making easier the location of the closest professionals and centres.

There has been a relevant increase of users registered in the private area as a result of the new functionalities added, such as the access to copayment. In 2014 the number of registrations experienced an increase of 49,572 persons; it is worth noting the mutual company segment, with a 46 % growth.

SYSTEMS AND INNOVATION The business growth forced us to implement new management systems in different business areas of Asisa Group.

During the year 2014, the development teams of the Asisa IT department implemented new functionalities or systems according to the needs of the Group’s business areas:

• Indemnity system. It permits a noteworthy cost saving, centralization and management improvement • Online medical prescription. Within the LINCE system the authorization is carried out automatically, contributing to improve insured’s attention; it also increases the activity control and discharges administrative work from commercial offices • Hospital invoicing. A new management system based on traffic lights, with an outstanding reduction of the administrative times for invoice review, providing at the same time a higher control on the processes • Master of suppliers. We consolidated a process, started in 2013, that facilitates the creation and management of beneficial networks and provides consistency and service to other applications such as LINCE, BI, benefit and payment systems, etc • Job position normalization. The project, completed in all the clinics and hospitals of the Asisa Group and had continuity in medical and dental centres, started to yield profits, incidence reduction, a better control of the software installed and cost control.

Asisa Dental’s solidary action in the Dominican Republic In November, an Asisa Dental team made up of 8 dentists and an assistant participated in a solidary project in Cabarete (Dominican Republic), where they carried out dental revisions to 224 persons between 2 and 72 years during an intense work at the Monkey Jungle clinic. They found different problems, even if they showed a complex basis, derived both from the local diet (very cariogenic) and the lack of education on dental hygiene. The Asisa Dental team that went to the Dominican Republic emphasized that the scarce time available and the great number of patients was a big handicap for their work. However, they lived unique experiences, such as the case of a child whose dentition, discoloured and stained, was reconstructed.

Collaboration with foundations The support to the so-called rare diseases is a commitment acquired by Asisa with those persons who undergo a situation of solitude for the exclusivity of their cases. Asisa works

and collaborates with institutions dedicated to do research on these diseases, such as the Bamberg and the West Syndrome Foundations. The economic contributions made by Asisa in 2014 were assigned to the search of treatments that help to keep alive the hope for a cure in patients and relatives.

KNOWLEDGE AND POPULARIZATION The Chancellor of the MIT, Eric Grimson, participates at an Asisa forum Nanotechnology will stir up the early detection of cancer and its treatment.

The chancellor of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Eric Grimson, participated at the Foro España Innova, organized by Nueva Economía and sponsored by Asisa. Grimson, professor at the Harvard School of Medicine, explained some of the latest advances in medical research through nanotechnology. In his paper, Grimson emphasized that the MIT is working at the development of a project that could stir up, on the one hand, the early detection of cancer and, on the other hand, its treatment, as it permits to treat with chemotherapy only the tumours detected.

This new technique consists in injecting in the human body certain tiny phosphorescent crystals that get adhered to cancer cells, indicating the affected area accurately. After determining the presence of the cancerous tumour, the oncologist may apply chemotherapy just on malignant cells, without contaminating the rest of the body. Asisa was represented at Professor Grimson’s lecture by the director Dr Luis Ortiz and the chief executive officer, Dr Enrique de Porres.

Marketing, Commercial and Communication

MARKETING AND ADVERTISING The campaign improved significantly the advertising recall rates: renown, consideration and brand preference.

Institutional advertising campaign In 2014 we launched an institutional advertising campaign, continuing with that created in 2013, which reinforced the Asisa’s differentiated positioning: its capacity to reinvest profits in healthcare improvements. The motto “Our benefit is your health” presented Asisa as a Company aimed at the client and capable to guarantee the access to a quality health service. In order to secure the message of brand reliability we resorted to the three most relevant targets: a mother with her child in representation of family (individual insurance), an executive in representation of the business sector (collective insurance) and a doctor in representation of the medical collective (medical staff). We used different versions of pieces in the media: TV, online, exterior and radio. The broadcast wave on December 2014 contributed to improve the advertising recall rates significantly: renown, consideration and brand preference, obtaining significant data in message settlement regarding reinvestment

86

as communication axis and brand territory. Marketing campaigns Throughout 2014 we launched several product promotion and attracting campaigns in different commercial segments: dental, particulars, large corporate accounts, SMEs and civil servants, using different interactive advertising media and modalities such as SEM, Affiliate Marketing and Display Media (Content Delivery Networks), etc. Just like in previous years, they insisted in loyalty and retention campaign, mainly of high-value clients and brand-related profiles (women’s segment, families...) and at decisive permanence moments (premium rises, holidays, etc.).

obtaining traffic of patients of other countries

• Private management concessions of public health facilities

The start of the international project started in Morocco with the joint management of multidisciplinary medical centres in Casablanca and Rabat as a consequence of the alliance between Asisa and the Saham Group, and Equatorial Guinea with the comprehensive management of the Bata Hospital, owned by the Social Security of Guinea. In this one, throughout 2014, besides completing its technological equipment one hundred per cent, we integrated more than thirty Spanish professionals within its human team, turning it into a health reference for other countries of the African continent. Besides Morocco and Equatorial Guinea, Asisa has already established other priority areas to focus its development outside Spain, such as Iberian America, Europe and Middle East.

Asisa Activity Report 2014

ASISA

ALWAYS

NEXT TO EVERYONE. For Asisa the future is being next to people at all times and growing and developing with them; for the insured, providing them more and more services, and for those who need a boost to make their dreams come true, providing them all the support and help they need to carry on.

All the photographs used in this report, except for advertising compositions and awards ceremonies, events or meetings, have been made to employees of Asisa Group, with a special mention for the children Andrea and Iván Imbernón Sanz and Sofía González Carrasco.
