March DCM 610

March “On March 15, 2017 D28S held its last DCM as Division 28 South. The DCM was held at our very own school and was an amazing time seeing all officers plus their elects from all over our division, and some members. I met many new elects and made friends with most of them. We served nachos and pink lemonade as our LTG and her elect were giving goodbye speeches and telling their hopes of future success for our division. I enjoy every DCM I attend, but this one was special due to the fact that my school was hosting. By the end our school's cheerleaders performed for us. They were fantastic and we even cheered for them with numerous key club cheers. I can not wait till the next and last DCM of this term.

DCM "This months DCM was held at our very own school. It was great to see everyone and especially the elects since we will be working with all of them this term. At the DCM, we served nachos and lemonade. Don't forget we also served looks *wink wink* hahaha! At the end of the DCM we enjoyed our nachos and watched the cheerleaders perform for us." - Jennele Nguyen, President
“On Wednesday, March 15th, I attended my first and final DCM. It was really interesting to see different key club members come from other schools to share their key club's agenda. A lot of the people there were friendly and I am so glad I attended. The nachos were tummy-filling and the setting up the tables/supplies for the food was super simple. Clean up was pretty easy too! I wish I could have experienced this sooner. I hope Key Club continues to grow with more members!! -Kylie Teruya, Member 9
Empty Bowl Benefit Set-Up 10 10

Empty Bowl “Setting up for the Empty Bowls Benefit was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. As soon as school ended we all gathered in our advisor’s room to put down our stuff and strategize what we all were going to do. When we went out there were cars full of boxes with ceramic bowls that we unloaded and then carried to our cafeteria. I’m pretty sure everyone gained some muscle from carrying all the boxes! The organizers were extremely kind and offered us free bowls for the next day, but unfortunately we could not accept due to our car wash running late because of all the cars we had! Overall this event was a lot more fun than expected and I enjoyed it very much.” Hector Ballez, SAA/Historian

Set-Up “For empty bowl set up, we carried all the bowls into the cafeteria for the event the next day. We carried tables and set them up. Although we didn't attend the event the next day, it was a great event since it was after school and it was convenient for the members. I think i gained some muscle by carrying all those boxes!!!" - Jennele Nguyen, President

Carwash 14 10

Car “On April 1, 2017 Green Valley Key Club had a very successful and lively car wash. We charged five dollars per car and even valeted for Empty Bowls, another event going on at our school. In the morning our members helped set up and took turns advertising. By the time it was over everyone was exhausted and ready to go home for nice nap. All of our members were amazing and truly exemplified what it means to serve. We raised almost $800, $778 to be exact! All proceeds are going to Relay for Life. I very much enjoyed this and hope we have another soon.” Hector Ballez, SAA/Historian
“Key Club had a very successful car wash on April 1. During the morning members set-up for the car wash. This year Key Club offered to valet customers cars because of this we had a more profitable wash than the previous year. Everyone was stressed out and overwhelmed with the amount of cars, but when we finished the wash made $770. This money will go to Relayforlife.”
Thao Huynh, Bulletin Editor
"All the proceeds from this car wash went to our Relay For Life team and we raised 774 dollars!!! That is the highest we have ever raised at our car washes. Well... we had a little bit of help since another event was held at our school and many people went to it. I'm so proud everyone there worked nonstop for hours! I hope we can raise just as much the next car wash!" - Jennele Nguyen, President

President’ “Hello! I am Green Valley key club's president, Jennele Nguyen. I am so proud to have this opportunity to serve this club with our new officers! This month, we had four events. March DCM, empty bowl setup, car wash, and DCON! The March DCM was held at our very own school and was successful! Empty bowl setup was very fun for our members and was also a great way to get easy hours since it was held after school in the cafeteria. Our most recent car wash was our most successful, we raised 774 dollars and it's all going to our relay for life team. Lastly we had DCON. We had two members attend and we had one more attend than last year which is great! I am so excited to bring this club above and beyond and i hope that our club strives to do their best.” -Jennele Nguyen, President
