Bulletin Editor Hi Gators, After over 2000 members attending Green Valley High School for RTC, our Key Club is still hard at work. With the various service projects and the several activities that are planned, we plan to remain as active as we were prior to RTC. After RTC, only one thing is on our members minds, Fall Rally South! We continue to work as our club anticipates for Fall Rally. Sincerely, Nick Phillips Bulletin Editor

RT “My RTC experience this year was full of smiles, laughs, screams, and of course, cheers! From 6 am to 8 pm, the smile and joy on my face never faded away. I met SO many new key clubbers and made so many friends. We were all just so happy to be there and to be surrounded by people who were there for the sheer purpose of wanting to make a difference in the world. Although our club didn't make it to the second round of cheers, I was still so happy and proud of ourselves because at the end of that long and hectic day, we all knew we tried our best and we did it together as a club. I loved every single bit of that day, especially the dance at the end. That was honestly one of the most fun nights I've had in awhile, just blasting and dancing to music with so many key clubbers. My RTC experience this year was definitely one for the books!” Renee Coronel, 10

“At RTC, I did plenty of things that encouraged me to do service. Because all of the workshops provided were highly focused on educating about becoming a better you, it certainly motivated me to strive for greatness and attain goals I had previously set. The workshops were organized and informational, even having a fun side while grasping new, valid information. Cheering and spirit battles were also prime highlights of the event. Overall, RTC was such a memorable experience due to what it taught me. I will certainly tell my peers to participate in service and join key club!” -Christian Coronel, 12

RT “Knowing it was my last/fourth RTC that I would be attending as a key clubber, I was very in denial. Throughout the RTCs I had attended, RTC 2016 was one of favorites. I got to choose my desired workshops with my friends, learned more about key club and other things besides key club, ate some appetizing meals, cheered my lungs out, and had an entertaining time. Though GV did not make it to the first cheer battle round, I learned that winning does not matter but just being together. At the end, there was dance and it was such a great moment to capture. Everyone was dancing together and I knew then that we were all family. I personally had the most elated time of my life and I’m glad I attended RTC.” -Louise S., 12

“Being new member to Key Club this year and an RTC first timer, it

was a really life changing experience for me. At first, I did not understand what RTC was about, but my friends encouraged me to go because I would regret if I didn’t. At RTC there were many workshops available, spirit battles, and lots of other Key Clubbers from other schools. The workshops were informative, interactive, but very fun. I went to service workshops such as making blankets and plan and it was very interesting. I made lots of friends from other schools through the workshops and spirits battles. My favorite part though, was the dance. People dancing, jumping, and screaming and having fun. At the end of the day I was tired and sweating from the dance, and had lost my voice from spirit battles but it was worth the experience. I’m really glad I made the decision to go, otherwise I would’ve regret it.” Lisa Nguyen, 11

“RTC has left a really big impact on me. It's helped me grow as both a member and a person. Mackienzy’s workshop was super inspiring and really makes me want to aspire to be a leader. My favorite part about RTC was being able to interact with the other schools. Being able to do service and have fun is what key club is all about!” -John Carino, 11

October “The October DCM was very interesting as always. We got to listen to other clubs talk about what they did and their service events / projects. This month we got Club of the month! We got to keep Eugene the panda for this month! It was very exciting! Afterwards we got to eat pizza and cookies. I am very grateful for another DCM I got to attend. -Jennele Nguyen, 10

Zombie “My first time attending the Zombie Run, and I must say that I had a great time! It was however very far and on my way there my ride and I got lost so that wasn't a great time, but we somehow managed to get there on time. While we were there we first had the makeup artists help us look more like zombies rather than sleep-deprived teenagers, then we started helping out with the setup. We also drew on the sidewalks with chalk which I haven't touched in years and then did what we all came their to do, SCARE PEOPLE! I had a lot of fun there not only with our key club but with our buddies, Coronado Key Club as well. I need to say that I did feel a little discomfort when the few runners smacked my hands away when I tried to grab their flags but overall had a great time! I am honestly excited to do this again next and hoping it'll be a bit closer.” -Philipp Penalber, 11

“My experience at zombie run was amazing from walking around seeing all the cool makeup people had and the free food especially the whole idea of giving the runner's flags and we the volunteers would have to grab the flags off of their waists. It was also fun because there was live entertainment there and it was just a cool bonding experience to have shared with the key club we had our laughs and everyone was there for each other.” -Hussen A., 10

Run “Oh my god, I loved the whole run. Even though we didn't run along with the runners, we were along the side, It was still fun. I ripped my clothes and put someone's sparkly makeup on and don't six on my arms and I was a fabulous zombie. I liked how they had a camera man and he recorded us for the news (i believe). The music was cool at the end where they had all the food trucks and little activities. the overall event was cool, I regret not going to last year's zombie run. It was fun and i enjoyed the experience with all those people and the club members.” Lauren Manner

“My experience in zombie run was really fun in the beginning but it kind of died off in the end. The fin moments was dressing as zombies and drawing on the pathway but it got kind of hot and got little bit boring in the end.” -Patrick Penalber, 09

“I had a lot of fun at the potluck / member inductions. I was the one who brought in Krispy Kreme donuts. It was really nice to just sit around and eat all the delicious food and snacks that everyone brought. It was even more awesome to go home with my certificate.” -Valerie Ramos. 10
