Bulletin Editor Hi Gators, This month was has been less eventful, but that doesn’t mean that Key Club isn’t ready to serve our community. Green Valley Key Club help serve at our school’s banquet, attend with our Kiwanis to Little Miss Hannah, and attended to the most “lit” event. Hopefully, in future months will be filled with more exciting events for the members. Sincerely, Thao Huynh Bulletin Editor

Little Miss

"“Little Miss Hannah Foundation Run was so much fun!! Me, Adam, James, and Mrs. Santee got to pass out water for the cute little kids and their supporting families who were both there to run for rare diseases! There was entertainment for the kids, that made them all really happy! Everyone was dancing and having a good time!! I would also have to include all the cute doggies that were running for rare diseases too and they also brought a good time to the kids and even the adults as well! Oowah!! Oowah!! Alicia Biscardi, Member

Sports

“The sports banquet was so much fun!! I liked watching the little kids come up and take their favorite flavor of cake and they would be so shy about it!! I also liked cheering for all of the GV gator athletes who earned their awards through hard work and dedication and also the awesome leadership giving by the coaches! Alicia Biscardi, 11

Banquet “We had a great time helping out with the sports banquet! Unfortunately because it was so short notice there weren't a lot of us there but we still were able to make the most of it! We helped with cake cutting, serving, and clean up. It was great to see the athletes get rewarded for all of their hard work!

Dance Marathon 14 10

Dance “On Saturday, March 4, a group of our members attended the fourth annual Las Vegas Dance Marathon at the UNLV Student Union. The Dance Marathon is charity event for the Children's Miracle Network, which is an organization that helps build up the spirits of kids in the Las Vegas valley that are in the hospital because they have cancer. All profits raised went to CMN. At LVDM, key clubbers from throughout Division 28 came together to dance for eight hours, 12pm to 8pm , in honor of kids who can't. There was a DJ, many dance groups performed, fundraisers for cancer, games, service craft projects, a Microsoft exhibit, motivational speakers, Panda Express for lunch, a photo booth, lots and lots of dancing of course, and more. Our attendees came with colorful spirits, participated all day with friends from other clubs, and left tired, but happy. This event is a favorite for many. GVKC loves CMN!!” Ben Martin, Member

““LVDM was really amazing! It was my first ever Dance Marathon and I do not regret anything. It was eight full hours of dancing and fun. Not only was it nonstop dancing but there also performances by many dance groups and singing groups. There were also dance battles and it was amazing to watch other people show off their talent. Watching others dance makes you want dance too, and I did. I danced and danced for hours and my legs became sore the day after but it was all worth it. It was nothing but crazy fun. But even more than that, I enjoyed it because it was for a good cause. Listening to all the patient’s stories of being in the hospital makes me want to give to them and support them, and it all starts here at Dance Marathon. At LVDM we are here to fundraised and support these patients, which is why I really loved being at Dance Marathon.”  Lisa Nguyen, Member

End the “R” Word 18 10

Spread the Word

“Spread the Word to End the Word was a very successful and enjoyable event. This event was to end the R word, so in a way we could show the special needs department how much not only we care about them, but the entire school does. We had an enormous amount of people signing to pledge to not continue the use of the R word. I made the poster for students to sign, and by the end of the day, it was full with signatures! This was great event and i felt honored to not only contribute, but be a part of such a good cause. Hector Ballez, 10

To End the Word “Spread the word to end the word was for such a great cause. Pretty much, you sign a banner to end the R word. Most people were supportive and positive! There were some people that were every rude but we tried our very best. I loved how the banner was full of names. I hope we can do this again some other time! Jennele Nguyen, 10

Farmer’s Market 22 10

March 9-11 10

Farmer’s “Our school held its 3rd annual farmer’s market March 9th through the 11th. Green Valley Key Club sold walking tacos which are doritos with everything you usually put inside a taco. The first day we bought supplies thinking that it would last us all three days, but we sold out before the end of both lunches! Our wonderful advisor, Mrs. Santee, went out to buy more supplies that lasted the last two days while being very sick. We appreciate her willingness to help us even on her worst days, but we all ended up yelling at her to go home. The next two days we sold a tremendous amount of the tacos. We sold them for $3 or two for $5. We do not yet know our profit for all three days, but we were very successful with our efforts. I am very proud for how hard working not only my fellow officers were and my advisors, but also proud of all my members.”  Hector Ballez, 10

Market

“The first day of Farmer's Market was absolutely amazing. We had a lot of fun walking around and advertising the walking tacos. We sold them one for $3 or two for $5. We had many supplies thinking that it would last a couple day, but we were wrong. We actually sold out within like 10 minutes! Can't wait to see how much money we raise for Key Club!”  Brooklyn Darmody, 11

“Wow! Where do I begin with the farmers market? Well, I love it! Green Valley key club was selling walking tacos. It's basically a taco in a chip bag. I worked the market on Thursday and Friday and we sold out on both days! It was my first farmer's market that i actually helped work and sell. Walking tacos were a big success and I hope that next year it will be the same.” Jennele Nguyen, 10

President’ "Green Valley Key Club has had an awesome time this past month. From Dance Marathon to the GV Farmer’s Market, this past month has been so enjoyable. Despite the inevitable waning of the key club term, we have all made some lasting memories just in the month of March. Next on our goal list, get our seniors some chords. Have a great day." -Mackienzy Kahl, President
