Bulletin Editor Hi Gators, April has passed, and May is a third of the way done. That means that only several weeks remain in this school year. It’s hard to believe how fast this school year has passed by. With such a fast and amazing school year, its hard to believe it’s almost over. I hope you have had a wonderful year so far, and continue to make it even better. Sincerely, Nick Phillips Bulletin Editor

DC DCON for the first and last time during my 2015-2016 term as president. I was alone in terms of my home club and division, but I was quickly approached by many other Las Vegas Key Clubbers, very inclusive! Just when I thought I knew everything about Key Club after serving the organization for a full 4 years, the abundance of seminars I was offered still had so much more to teach me. I went through the process of voting for our District board and I made even more friends. If I had known that my DCON experience would have been this way, I would have attended every other year. I recommend this event to all Key Clubbers, old and new, because the spirit throughout the whole building is inspiring and the drive that we all have towards specific goals as a District is incredible (it's nice to be reminded about those things). - Nia Fernandez , 12 I attended

April “On April 20, Division 28 South held their April DCM and banquet. This DCM was held at Valley High School. At this DCM each president gave their president's reports as usual, however, since it was also a banquet, Division 28 South celebrated are immediate past officers. While this was a very happy occasion, many tears we shed as past officers left their positions. This was especially present during Sofia Yahya’s, immediate past LTG, speech. Though feelings of remorse were felt around the room, Green Valley’s Key Club had great uplift when they were announced Club of the Year! ” -Nick Phillips, 11

Teacher Appr “Making appreciation cards for teacher appreciation week was amazing. Me being able just to spend like 15 mins of my time to help the teachers feel happy is just wonderful, and free hours. Even though I'm not that creative for card making, the fact that the teachers enjoyed all the effort me and others put into is terrific! I would be glad to do this again next school year. -Philipp Penalber,10
eciation Week
“For Teacher Appreciation Week, Key Club got to design cards for the teachers of Green Valley High School. We all either wrote words of kindness or cheesy jokes to for all the work to be able to tolerate their students. I personally made many pun jokes on the cards. Teachers didn’t just get cards, but also chocolate to sweeten their lives. Through this event, everyone had fun together spending time together socializing as we made the cards.” -Thao Huynh, 09 17 17 13

James I. Gib “Green Valley Key Club has the opportunity to work with the energetic children from Gibson. When key club works with elementary students it's always a really positive experience for the kids. The kids were happy running up and down the walls. Seeing the kids so happy is what really makes us key clubbers coming back to these kind of events and i hope we continue to volunteer at elementary schools throughout the year. - Mackienzy Kahl , 11

son Carnival
“The carnival at Gibson Elementary was full of exciting game booths that i had the honor of working at. I was managing the Soccer Kick where children had three tries to kick the ball in the holes. The whole time I was grabbing the ball for the children and marking their cards for prizes. Despite tirelessly retrieving the ball, it was worth seeing all the children smile. - Thao Huynh , 9

OT
“OTC was a great experience, a day to really soak in a lot of information. We really jumped into the deep end, but we all came out as better leaders because of it. OTC was exceptionally overwhelming, but well worth. At OTC we may not have built many keys, but we sure did open a lot of doors. - Mackienzy Kahl , 11

C ‘At OTC, we met a lot more officers from lots of different schools. In my workshop, we did lots of icebreakers than, we did learning. I learned how to run to be vice president and also i realized how many responsibilities i have. We had a lot of socializing. Also i got to bond with all the other vice presidents from all over the place. I love everyone because they were so kind and funny. It was a blast ! - Moira Lopez , 09

President’ “Walt Disney once said "We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths". Mr. Disney captures growth and renewal in his words; the same way the new Key Club term captures those value in action. Starting off the term at OTC, D28S president's are connected like never before. In the sprouting days of our service, we've already started on the right foot. After greeting the new, we say goodbye to our friends and loved ones as the year ends. Because of our sincerity we've sparked a passionate feeling of appreciation in the k-family. Coinciding with our the division quarterly theme, we've shown nothing but appreciation to all. The club that I serve, Green Valley Key Club, was designated a day of giving special thanks. Thursday May 5th GV key Club wrote creative messages to our wonderful edugators and staff, and (of course) handed out candy to show our appreciation. Green Valley Key Club would like to show appreciation to all out partners and mentors who help us wind down the rocky path that we call life. Along with our appreciation for those who've helped us in the past, we look curiously forward to helping others in return and opening many doors.“ -President, Mackienzy Kahl
