Cactus Wren Park Clean-up Saturday, October 2nd, @ 7am-12pm
Green Valley Key Club participated in a clean-up event for Cactus Wren Park on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021! Many members gathered to participate in this free and fun event and worked together as a club to pick up any trash that was left behind by people on the park’s trails and roads. We filled many trash bags throughout the day and ended up filling an entire dumpster worth of trash altogether just in a few hours! Here are just a few of the pictures from the event:
Some of the things what were picked up included bottles, bags, wood, and even road signs!
Homecoming Carnival Friday, October 22nd, @ 4:30-7pm
Our club participated in Green Valley’s annual Homecoming Carnival this year that took place on Friday, October 22nd, 2021. We sold handmade leis and chips this year, and the money we raised went to UNICEF. Members who signed up for this event got to help out at our booth and helped advertise our products to other people around the carnival. It was a very simple yet very rewarding event, and members got to see the parade pass by before working!
ScaR-TC
Saturday, October 30th, @ 10am-3:15pm
This year due to restrictions and complications regarding Covid-19, RTC was held virtually again, but was still a blast! Our members gathered together at Green Valley with Chromebooks to participate in RTC virtually together via Google Meets! There were many workshops to choose from and lasted from 10:00-3:15. Even though RTC was held virtually this year, we were still able to hold our spirit contest, where our club won the East division’s spirit stick! RTC was a lot of fun for everyone, and we even got to see our LTG’s at RTC! We thank our LTG’s for putting together yet another amazing RTC, especially given the difficulties this year has brought our club, and we can’t wait for next year’s! :)
Message from the President
Hey Everyone! Our club has been working hard and been very busy this month with RTC coming up, but it was still as fun as always! Some members attended virtually at home- like I did- or attended "virtually together" in Mr. Misch's room! We also had a blast volunteering at Cactus Wren Park and cleaning up all of the trash together, and it was a very good bonding experience since it was only our second very big event. I can't wait to see and work more with you guys in the months ahead! Mckenzie Shelton-Lott 2021-2022

Welcome Back Everyone! This month of October has been pretty fun and eventful with preparations for Homecoming and RTC, as well as a park clean-up that happened earlier this month! All of this month’s events were very fun and enjoyable to participate in, and it was also a great bonding experience for all of our club members! Getting together and working on our RTC cheer and preparing for events together as a club was an amazing experience, and I’m so grateful to all of the board members and advisors for helping this month go very smoothly. I am so excited for next year’s RTC and I would like to once again thank the LTG’s and Ms. Santee for making this month and RTC an amazing experience! I look forward to seeing you guys next month! Sincerely, Emyleigh Robinson
