End of year Picnic @ Cornerstone Park, 3-5pm

DCON (April 10, @ 10am - 9:30pm) After a full year dealing with this pandemic, our club has finally found a way to do DCON so our club can say our last goodbyes to our graduating Key Club seniors. The event has lasted 2-3 days and it was held virtually. DUring day 1 of our DCON event, our division region held many different conferences for our members and officers to join, including ideas and tips on how to run a Key Club officer position!

DCON (April 11, @ 11:15 am - 3pm) Then for day 2, it was an emotional day for our members to say goodbye to the Key Club Seniors who are moving forward from this club. Along with that, the CNH district also announced the accomplishments that people from different regions and divisions have made throughout the past Key Club year, as well as giving a warm welcome to our new DLTs and LTGs from each division in the CNH district. Here’s a visual representation of how it all turned out for our Virtual DCON!.

Mask Making (Christmas masks in April) A Senior Key Club student has participated in her last hours of service by making christmas themed masks!. Experimenting with cloth again, she decided to make masks out of some old, christmas pajamas in hopes that she’ll make good use of them, also for the use of bringing back christmas spirit in April!. This is what she has so far:

End Of Year Picnic ( Friday, April 30 @ 3-5pm) Green Valley Key Club decided to host their first In-Person Event after a full year since the month of March 2020. With precautions and maintaining simple social distancing protocols, Green Valley Key Club managed to keep their reunion safe, and fun at the same time! Seniors who’ve completed their fulfilled amount of service hours got their Key Club chords, as well as all of the Key Club Seniors at the picnic were praised with some simple gifts for at least participating in the 2020-2021 Key Club year. Overall, the picnic was filled with fun and games where our members had conversations about their ideas and plans for the future (as well as many more interesting topics) and played a fun game of charades as a closing for the End Of The Year Picnic.

Message from the President: I think April was a really good month for us. We got our new board in order and we had our club picnic. I, unfortunately, was not able to attend the picnic but I was told that everyone had fun. So far, I’m enjoying my new position and I hope I can grow to achieve more in my position!

McKenzie Shelton-Lott 2021 - 2022

Message from the Editor: Welcome Back Everyone! The month of April has been a busy month for us, Key Clubbers in terms of catching up to our Service Hours during the beginning of the month before DCON ends. WIth DCON though, it was an exciting thing for me to experience since it’s my first time being at DCON. I was about to get my chance to attend last year but sadly, that’s was when we were in quarantine, and our club was still finding ways to continue our activities without COVID affecting us. I’m so glad to be a witness to all the accomplishments our Key Club leaders have made throughout the year, and was a thrill to see the credits of the virtual event show to our closest Key Club members of our Division and region. I do understand how DCON can be a sentimental event for our members as that’s the time where our Senior members have to move forward in life after serving their community here at Key Club. A message from one honored member at the last day of DCON did touch me, as he actually cried while giving his touching speech while being honored by our District. Than for our End of the Year Picnic, I had a fun time hanging out with my Key Club peers that I haven’t seen in person since last year in March. It was nice interacting with them, and it gave me hopes that things are getting better better each month since the pandemic hit. I hope things go better for our Club during this new term and that for our following members who will joining this coming August, they will be able to experience the many fun activities our in-person Key Club offers!.
