DCM Meeting

(Wednesday, April 22 in Google Meet, 5pm - 10 p.m.) During this month, Key Club has found a way to do meetings in a virtual way!. During April’s DCM meeting, our region has hosted a Google meet for our officers and LTG members can attend in. This way, The LTG’s important information to our club can still be given out while still practicing social distancing during this certain time of difficulty. Our Key Club DCM meeting also praised one of our officers for their good efforts in with holding their responsibilities of their position.

Congrats Isabelle Jones for being Key Club’s treasurer of the year!!!

GVKC Getting Creative With Cards This activity chosen by our GVKC officers, allows our fellow members to express their feelings and artistic creativity to the people in our community. There’s no specific date in which you can do this activity, as it could last until the end of quarantine season. Especially when it comes to making the cards to the elderly in our local TLC center, make sure they’re being sent from 8am-4pm. The people who work or live in there will appreciate it a lot!!. Here’s a demonstration on what our members should do for this servicial activity.

Working in the Patios During this quarantine season, some of our key club members have done some community services of their own, and most of it includes helping their neighbors out with chores and house labors when they’re troubled. Helping neighbors out in their backyard is one of the most prefered activities some of our members have done for their community service hours. Here’s a picture that demonstrate these types of service events, mostly dealing with people’s backyard patios.

Note From President: Hey Everyone! Welcome back to the newsletter! This April has been pretty quiet for the most part considering quarantine keeps us key clubbers inside, but we are still here! This April, our board has been collaborating together to find ways our members can do “at-home service. This is beneficial to not just our members & community, but to our Seniors who may need these last couple of hours to receive a chord/outstanding member recognition. We also advertised the April DCM on our Instagram, so our members could keep in touch! Plus, we wanted to show support to our LTG, fellow key clubbers and advisors. Overall, April has been successful despite the pandemic. Angel Mascarenas 2020-2021

Note From Editor: For this month of April, I believe that our club has encountered a silver lining due to all the shady news from last month in March. We’ve now figured out alternative ways to communicate with each other. We have been using Zoom to communicate with very important officer meetings like OTC, and I have liked the experience of seeing everyone gathered around to catch on with the important information our leaders had to tell us (for the last 5 min. I’ve attended the meet). It was overwhelming for me to catch on with the new technological tactics in order to catch on with our club’s activities and meets, but as I started to use them more often, I started to get used to it. Now, we’re using Google Meet in order to catch up with the important information we have for our club, so for those of you who don’t know about our meeting in Google, start checking your reminds and the Gmails sent on your phones for the invites on Google meet. Overall, I am very happy with the progress we’ve made in order to overcome this certain time of difficulty, and I hope we can make more improvements of recovery to our club and that we can soon get back to our normal routines by the time we get back to school. Keep your hopes high everyone. <3 Sincerely, Kassandra G. Espinoza 2020-2021
