Making Dog Toys! (Wednesday, September 2 @ 3pm-4pm) Based on the August Service weeks our division has made for our members to participate in, our Club decided to apply this as a virtually social service event for our members to participate in. Green Valley Key Club Treasurer, Kayla Walgate hosted the meeting by showing all of our members how to make dog toys with old rags that will no longer be used anymore. As the coronavirus and social distancing is still going on in our nation and around the world, our Key club along with other key clubs found other ways to still be united as a club by finding other ways to do service from our homes, to our community and around the world, and this dog toy making event proves it! Here’s an example of what was done with this event by our Key Clubbers.
DCM Meeting (Tuesday, September 22 @ 5pm-6pm) During our DCM Meeting the LTG announced the Top 3 Bamboo stock winners for the service hours done from last month’s service week. The Top 3 winners were Del Sol as 1st place, Silverado as 2nd place and our home club, Green Valley in 3rd place! As the winners of the past month’s service weeks, our club got to choose a dare for the LTG leaders, in which our club will decide on with our members during our general meeting in October. For the rest of our time in our DCM Meeting, our LTG Governor, Lorelei Casillian, has given us good tips and advice in order to deal with school stress and tips on dealing with everyday tasks of life in general. Then, we did some really fun icebreaker activities so we can get to know our Key Clubbers in our D28E area better!
Panda Express Fundraiser (Tuesday, September 29 @ 9:30am 10:30pm) Through this historical year in time, Key Club has managed to continue hosting a fundraiser at Panda express, just like last year. During this fundraising event, Many people have participated in going to Panda Express to be a part of the fundraiser, as well as benefiting to eat out and eat some good Chinese food.
Message from the President: Welcome Back to the Newsletter! The Month of September has been a great month for us! We have provided new At-Home Service Events to our members such as Dog Toy Making Live Session, Back to School Chalk Art, and Cards for TLC Care center. Throughout the month, we have had two awesome General Meetings in Sep. 21st where we gave some updates to our members about RTC, Club Fees, Member Applications, and of course, At-Home Service Events! Thank you for reading, See you next month! Angel Mascarenas 2020-2021
Message from the Editor: Welcome Back Everyone: As August was quite a busy month filled with service events, I felt that our club has gotten some really good ideas of introducing these events to our Key Club members! One of these events were the Dog Toy Making event, doing Chalk Art in the neighborhood streets, and the continuation of making cards for the people at the TLC Care center. The most fun out of those three I believe was the Dog Toy Making Live Session where all of our members were united in a google meet following some dog toy making tutorials hosted by our Green Valley Key Club Treasurer. DCM was also a really fun meeting to attend and our LTG Governor has really united our Key Clubbers to really get to know each other with some ice-breaking games. Overall, September has been a decent yet fun event filled with lots of inspirations from last month’s events. Thank you all for reading this newsletter.
