A Silver Medal Rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the best registered pony owned by an NPS Qualifying or life member in the NPS affiliated Mountain & Moorland In Hand Sections (Champion and Reserve Dartmoor, Shetland, Miniature Shetland, Welsh and Mixed M&M to compete). Membership cards must be presented in the ring to receive the medal and/ or qualification.

BEST PONY IN SHOW –

To be judged by Mrs Cathie Pearse

Those who are eligible to compete are as follows :- Champion Children’s Ridden Pony, Champion Pony Breeding, Best Local Pony, NPS M&M In Hand Silver Medal Champion & Reserve, Mini Champion Ridden Mountain & Moorland, Open Champion Ridden Mountain & Moorland.

The Best Pony In Show and Reserve will then go forward to the SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP.

The Noel Edmonds Perpetual Challenge Cup to the Supreme Champion. A Cash Prize of £50.00 is awarded to the Supreme Champion

A Cash Prize of £25.00 is awarded to the Reserve Supreme

The Calmady-Hamlyn Perpetual Challenge Trophy presented by Lt.Col.V. W. Calmady-Hamlyn to the Best Hunter In Show (Led or Ridden, to be presented within the Supreme championship)

The Madge Bros. Perpetual Challenge Cup to the Best Pony In Show (Led or Ridden, to be presented within the Supreme championship).

PRESENTATION OF CUPS, TROPHIES & AWARDS

The above Cups and Trophies will be presented in the Main Ring during the Grand Parade together with the Mrs P D Voaden Perpetual Challenge Cup for the Champion Heavy Horse and the Okehampton Show Perpetual Challenge Cup to the Best Decorated Heavy Horse. The Exhibitor winning the Alfie Reed Cup are requested to come forward immediately after the completion of Judging to receive their awards.

1. Small Hunter, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over. Exceeding 14.2hh (148cm) but not exceeding 15.2hh (158cm).

2. Hunter, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over. Exceeding 15.2hh (158cm).

Championship – 1st & 2nd prize winners from classes 1 & 2. The Northey Perpetual Memorial Trophy to the Champion. Champion goes forward to Best Hunter in Show.

WORKING HUNTER & WORKING HUNTER PONY

3. Working Hunter Pony, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over. Not exceeding 14.2hh (148cm). Fences approx height 70cm, to be judged 60% for jumping performance and 40% as for hunter pony class.

4. Working Hunter, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over. Exceeding 14.2hh (148cm). Fences approx height 90cm to be judged 60% for jumping performance and 40% as for hunter class.

The Classic Carriage Cup to the winner of class 4.

Championship – 1st & 2nd prize winners from classes 3 & 4 Trophy to the Champion Champion goes forward to Best Hunter in Show.

CHILDREN’S RIDDEN PONIES

Prize Money :- 1st £15.00 2nd £12.00 3rd £10.00

Open to Ponies of all Types – Registered or Unregistered.

5. Leading Rein Pony, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over. Not exceeding 12.2hh (128cm). Riders must not have attained their 9th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Snaffle bridles only and the lead rein to be attached to the noseband. A Special Rosette will be awarded to each Rider not placed.

6. Ridden Pony, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over. Not exceeding 12.2hh (128cm). Rider 14 years old and under. No Leading Reins.

7. Ridden Pony, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over. Exceeding 12.2hh (128cm) but not exceeding 14.2hh (148cm). Rider 16 years old and under. No Leading Reins.

The Heathman – Glass Perpetual Challenge Cup to the best pony not exceeding 13.2hh (138cm) in class 7.

Championship – 1st & 2nd prize winners from classes 5 – 7. The S. Yeo Perpetual Trophy to the Champion. Champion goes forward to Best Pony in Show.

PONY BREEDING – In Hand

Entry Fee : - £8.00

Prize Money :- 1st £15.00 2nd £12.00 3rd £10.00

These classes are open to all ponies. Stallions 4 years old or over must hold a current Stallion Licence. All ponies must be shown plaited.

8. Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over. Not exceeding 14.2hh (148cm). A Special Rosette and prize of £5.00 for the Best Foal out of a Mare shown in this class.

9. Yearling, 2 or 3 year old, Colt, Filly or Gelding. Not to exceed 14.2hh (148cm) at maturity. Special Rosette to the Best Yearling.

Best Gelding Rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Gelding in each class. Rosettes donated by the Okeleat Stud.

Championship – 1st & 2nd prize winners from classes 8 & 9. The Chillaton Stud Perpetual Challenge Cup presented by Mr. Bruce Streeter to the Champion. Champion goes forward to Best Pony in Show.
