WELSH PONIES AND COBS – In Hand

Affiliated to the Welsh Pony & Cob Society. A point scoring show for Welsh Pony and Cob society Veteran of the year and Junior Gelding of the Year.

Affiliated to the National Pony Society (NPS).

All ponies must be registered with the Welsh Pony and Cob Society.

30. Welsh Section A Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over.

A Special Rosette and a Prize of £5.00 will be awarded to the Best Foal by a Registered Welsh Stallion and out of a Mare shown in this class.

31. Welsh Section B Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over.

A Special Rosette and a Prize of £5.00 will be awarded to the Best Foal by a Registered Welsh Stallion and out of a Mare shown in this class.

32. Welsh Section A Yearling, 2 or 3 year old, Colt, Filly or Gelding. Special Rosette to the Best Yearling.

33. Welsh Section B Yearling, 2 or 3 year old, Colt, Filly or Gelding. Special Rosette to the Best Yearling.

34. Welsh Section C Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over.

36. Welsh Section C Yearling, 2 or 3 year old, Colt, Filly or Gelding. Special Rosette to the Best Yearling.

37. Welsh Section D Yearling, 2 or 3 year old, Colt, Filly or Gelding. Special Rosette to the Best Yearling.

IF THERE ARE INSUFFICIENT ENTRIES IN ANY OF THE ABOVE CLASSES SECTION A & B CLASSES MAY BE AMALGAMATED AND THE SECTION C& D CLASSES AMALGAMATED

Classes 30 – 37 are qualifiers for the NPS/HorseQuest M&M In Hand National Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show in August 2024

Classes 32, 33, 36 & 37 are point scoring classes for WPCS Sarum Investments LTD in-hand Junior Gelding of the year, open to all geldings, three years of age and under, shown in-hand. See https://wpcs.uk.com/judging-showing/wpcs-points-awards/ for details.

Welsh Pony and Cob Veteran Incentive Scheme – Overall Veteran Champion and Reserve. The 2 highest placed Veterans, 19 years of age and over, from classes 30, 31, 34, 35 to compete for this championship rosette, generously sponsored by the Minmon Stud.

Welsh Pony and Cob Gelding Incentive Scheme – Overall Gelding Champion and Reserve. The 2 highest placed geldings, three years of age and under, from classes 32, 33, 36 & 37 to compete for this championship, generously sponsored by Sarum Investments Ltd.

Championship – 1st & 2nd prize winners from classes 30 - 37

The Finglebridge Cup presented by Mrs. D.M. Hyde and the late Mr. W.H.G. Olding to the Champion.

The Welsh Pony & Cob Society offers a Rosette to the Champion.

NPS/Blackertor & Sharptor Studs M&M In Hand Silver Medal Rosette Championship

A Silver Medal Rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the best registered pony owned by an NPS Qualifying or life member in the NPS Affiliated Mountain & Moorland In Hand Sections (Champion and Reserve Dartmoor, Shetland, Miniature Shetland, Welsh and Mixed M&M to compete). Membership cards must be presented in the ring to receive the medal and/ or qualification.

NPS Silver Medal Rosette Championships: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show in August 2024.
