ne year ago, Hampton Hall welcomed Butch and Monica Hunyadi to the community. From where? You guessed it, Ohio! Over the past 30 years, Butch and Monica have traveled to the Lowcountry for countless vacations. Travel sports and collegiate competitions took them from coast to coast. Even after traveling around the country, they always knew Hilton Head was the place they wanted to call home. After talking with residents and making countless spreadsheets, they made the decision to move to Hampton Hall. The Hunyadi’s were planning on staying in the community for three to five years before deciding if it was the right fit. However, it only took eight months to realize they were home. They have sold their first home and are now building in Hampton Hall on Wicklow Drive. Before moving south, Monica was a human resources and operations professional working in both the private and public sectors. Monica’s experience began in the Japanese auto glass industry followed by director level positions with the Ohio Consumer’s Counsel and the Supreme Court

of Ohio. Butch devoted thirty-five years to the criminal justice field. He began his career in law enforcement as a State Police Officer in New Mexico. He moved back to Ohio where he worked at the state level in law enforcement training, community corrections and prisons. Both Butch and Monica hold graduate degrees, served as adjunct professors, and hosted professionals from all over the world for cultural exchanges. Monica and Butch have known each other since high school in Findlay, Ohio. They participated in various sports and still recall competing in track and field together for their high school. After initially going their separate ways for college, Monica joined Butch at the University of Toledo where he had a successful collegiate
