Context As a designer it is important that we have branding that reflects our personality and the work we are creating. As soon to be graduates being able to pass your portfolio and business card onto people and make yourself memorable is important; and even more importantly be memorable to potential employers and clients.
Brief or Tasks The brief is to brand yourself. This means creating a concept, logo and applying this to not only printed ephemera such as business cards, letterheads etc but also carry this concept onto digital platforms in the creation of a website that acts as an online portfolio, and can be applied to the different forms of social media, for example twitter.
Preparation/Research suggestions Understanding of the work you produce and the work you are aiming to produce is key as your branding will, in the present act as a way to showcase this. Research into printing is also necessary, this is printing methods, finishes and cost effective ways to print these. It will also help to research into existing personal branding to understand the most effective logos and concepts, as well as understand what doesn’t work.
Evidence – for this project students should submit Full personal branding concept including a logo, colour scheme and printed versions of how this concept works over a full range; including business cards, letterheads, business cards, envelope etc. The printed matter should be photographed in the studio and presentation boards then put together. Also the branding should be applied to a fully working online portfolio, in the form of a personal website and Behance page.
