PRESIDENT’S LETTER
Dear Fellow Members,
I trust that all of you have been enjoying the beautiful weather and the wonders of fall in New England. It’s been wonderful to see you participating in the many events and programs in the clubhouse, on campus or off-site. October was a banner month of events and programs for members of all interests. November will be even better with our Member Appreciation Gala on November 2, Olympic Champion Lauren Scruggs ‘25 on November 22, our Harvard-Yale Breakfast on November 23, culminating with our Thanksgiving celebration on November 28. The December season of festivities is upon us so stay tuned!
The winter sports season for Harvard Athletics has begun. Please be sure to cheer on the Crimson in person or at the clubhouse in our Veritas Lounge or ClubPub. Many thanks to the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA) for hosting another informative and insightful Alumni Leadership Conference. Sarah Karmon, HAA Executive Director and HCB Board of Governor, and her team do a wonderful job of bringing alumni leaders together to discuss various challenges and triumphs encountered by the leaders in the Harvard Alumni community. Harvard Moves is back for another 5k to get people moving and improve their health. Come together November 7 – 10 with your global University-wide community to celebrate movement and support students. Speaking of triumphs, a hearty congratulations to HCB member Dean William Giannobile, DDS, DMSc ‘96, PD ‘96, A. Lee Loomis, Jr. Professor of Oral Medicine, Infection and Immunity at Harvard Dental School of Medicine was chosen as the American Dental Association’s 2024 Gold Medal award for Excellence in Dental Research. A well-deserved honor Dean Giannobile.
There have been many clubhouse projects that have been in different stages of development over the past months. I am pleased to report that quite a few of them are coming to completion within the next month or two. All of these projects have been undertaken to provide additional member benefit and enhance your overall member experience. Projects nearing completion include:
• Mobile Access: Using the HCB app on your smart phone you will soon be able to access our Member Commons spaces, Health and Wellness facilities and clubhouse entrances. The access system will be implemented in phases. I encourage you to download the app on your phone so you may take advantage of this benefit.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation and understanding during these efforts to improve your experience. Kudos to Glen Ballard, Sue Pouliot, Valerie Phillips and Becky Blaeser and their respective teams for their due diligence and work towards the completion of our projects.
Shared Interest Groups are wonderful way for members to meet and get to know each other around a common interest or subject matter. Katerina Reilly ALM ’22, Member Engagement Manager, has created a process for club members interested in organizing a SIG. Check out our SIGs and contact Katerina kreilly@harvardclub.com with any questions you may have, participate or to learn more.
