Read Write Own: Building the Next Era of the Internet

SEPTEMBER 13TH | 8:00AM–9:00AM | VIRTUAL

Tech visionary Chris Dixon argues that the dream of an open network for fostering creativity and entrepreneurship doesn’t have to die and can, in fact, be saved with blockchain networks. He separates this movement, which aims to provide a solid foundation for everything from social networks to artificial intelligence to virtual worlds, from cryptocurrency speculation—a distinction he calls “the computer vs. the casino.” Read Write Own is a must-read for anyone—internet users, business leaders, creators, entrepreneurs—who wants to understand where we’ve been and where we’re going. It provides a vision for a better internet and a playbook to navigate and build the future.

Author Series Featuring Jessica Shattuck '94

SEPTEMBER 26TH | 5:30PM–7:30PM | CLUBHOUSE

We are thrilled to welcome New York Times Best Selling Author, Jessica Shattuck '94, as she discusses her latest book, Last House. Spanning multiple generations and nearly eighty years, Last House tells the story of one American family during an age of grand ideals and even greater downfalls. Set against the backdrop of our nation’s history, this is an emotional tour de force that digs deeply into questions of inheritance and what we owe each other—and captures to stunning effect the gravity of time, the double edge of progress, and the hubris of empire.

SEPTEMBER 30TH | 7:00PM–8:00PM | VIRTUAL

This poignant and delicately crafted novel that explores themes of love, loss, and the search for identity through the lens of its protagonist, Mikage Sakurai. After the death of her beloved grandmother, Mikage, a young woman struggling with grief and loneliness, finds solace in the kitchen—a place where she feels a sense of purpose and connection. The novel's title reflects the central role of the kitchen as both a physical and symbolic space of healing and transformation.
