Pennsy Trail Update
The planning for the Pennsy Trail extension is well underway. The extension will include a pedestrian bridge over Manoa Rd. The completed trail will extend from the YMCA on Eagle Road to the Llanarch Shopping Center on West Chester Pike. This trail will make Havertown more pedestrian friendly and allow children to walk safely to school and township parks. Construction will begin early next year and be completed by Fall 2021.
Darby Creek Clean-Up
Saturday, October 17 from 9am-12pm Like many residents, our trail system suffered serious damage in the summer months due to the heavy storms and they need our attention. Join Parks and Recreation on October 17 to help clean up the damage. The clean-up may include picking up trash, moving fallen limbs, and brushing up debris.
Volunteers should bring gloves and boots that can get wet and/or dirty. Tools are not neccessary. Registration is not required. We will meet at Merry Place (600 Glendale Road Havertown, PA 19083).

Invasive Removal Project
Disc Golf
This summer, over seven days, we had over 150 volunteers remove invasive plant species from our Township’s trail system. Volunteers cut vines off of trees on the Darby Creek Trail, they cared for over 150 trees at Haverford Reserve which are vital for the riparian buffer; and they removed several different types of species on the Pennsy Trail from Harvard Road to Princeton Road. We are just getting started and we need your help! We will continue our effort to fight invasive species this Fall. Without a large network of people constantly controlling these plants, they will continue to ravage our parks and trails. Get involved! Our work this Fall will include tree plantings and more invasive species removal. Check our website for exact dates, times and locations.
Thanks to the grass roots effort and a year of planning we are installing an 18-hole disc golf course at Haverford Reserve. Look for volunteer work dates posted on our website and facebook. Construction Fall 2020 - with your help!
