A Compassionate Community Our theme for the 24th Haverford Township Day is “A Compassionate Community”. Compassion in this sense means to feel the struggles, sorrow, loneliness of our neighbors and those in our community and feeling compelled to do something about it . It may be through assisting an elderly neighbor, bringing meals to a family in crisis, comforting a friend who has suffered a loss, welcoming into your home someone who lost their home or children giving their toys to others…

Nomination Form

Do you know a person or organization that shows compassion to others within our community? Send us their name and your reason for nomination and we will recognize them from the Main Stage on Haverford Township Day. For a nomination form, go to the Haverford Township Day page at www.HaverfordTownship.org/Parks.

Park Improvement Update Following the recommendation of the Park Board and Director Tim Denny, the Board of Commissioners approved an historic generational investment to upgrade the township’s 33 parks. This represents the biggest parks initiative in the township’s history. The bond monies approved will finance improvements at parks ranging from: infrastructure (fencing, pathways), ADA-compliant playground improvements, resurfacing tennis and basketball courts, permanent recycling and trash cans, energy saving lights, benches and tables and field regrading. The work will commence in November and take place over the next 3-5 years.
