Merry Place A Legacy of Love
A Community That Cares Merry Place was named for Merry Tropp, a beloved Recreation Leader and HHS coach. Merry Place was dedicated in 1998; the result of the efforts of hundreds of community volunteers. Supporters raised more than $250,000 in contributions over 5 years and transformed the old sewer facility on Glendale Rd. into a place for people of all ages and abilities to connect to nature and to each other. Merry Place is a local treasure, nationally recognized for its Universal Design. In addition to the accessible train station, playground, sand box, gazebo, fishing pier, tree house, hills and canyon, there are sand volleyball courts, the Darby Creek Trail and the new sculpted skate park.
