Welcome to a New Season Welcome to the Hazlitt Theatre’s new Autumn Season. With the summer just gone displaying some record weather temperatures we have to prepare ourselves for the colder months ahead. So what better way, as we open the new brochure with the last of the summer sunshine on our faces, than to prepare to come and watch some productions from the very diverse offerings at the county towns very own theatre. Once again The Hazlitt Theatre has not forgotten it’s younger customers with shows such as the classic ‘There Was An A Old Woman Who Swallowed A Fly’, ‘Stick Man’ and ‘Wind in the Willows’. The fantastic Hazlitt Youth Theatre will be staging it’s very own unique version of ‘High School Musical’ and of course for our very little customers, The Hazlitt is so very excited to be welcoming ‘Bing Live’ in October. A must see show for all those out there that simply love this little rabbit. For theatre lovers we have two nights of the classic that has stood the test of time when Sherlock Holmes graces our stage with ‘The Sign Of Four’. To counterbalance the edgy and mysterious telling of a Sherlock Holmes story we welcome back ‘Austentatious’.
The amazingly funny cast that improvise their way through the Jane Austen novel ’Lost’ with only the help of the audience to guide them. Music and Comedy galore with the amazing ‘Whitney’ tribute, ‘Blake’, ‘The Real Thing’, ‘The Rolling Stones Story’ to name but a few and plenty of great stand up comedy as we throw open the doors and welcome ‘Jim Davidson’, ‘Harry and Chris’ & ‘Jason Byrne’. And for those of you that like something a little different….’Puppetry of the Penis’ and ‘The Lady Boys of Bangkok’ will have you wowed or in some cases wincing! And finally the Autumn season always culminates the The Hazlitt Theatre’s very own Pantomime Production and boy have we raised the roof this year. A great cast spearheaded by the very charming, very funny and all round great guy, Mr Richard Blackwood. Aladdin will be a pantomime full of fun, song, dance and maybe even some fire!!!! And remember #maidstonesonlypanto Regards Martin Cleverley General Manager
The Hazlitt Theatre is operated by Parkwood Theatres working in partnership with Maidstone Borough Council.
