Welcome to a New Season Welcome to the Hazlitt Theatre’s new Autumn Season. With the summer just coming to an end displaying some record weather temperatures we have to prepare ourselves for the colder months ahead. So what better way, as we open the new brochure with the last of the summer sunshine on our faces, to prepare than to come and watch some productions from the very diverse offerings at the county town’s very own theatre.

Music galore with the amazing ‘The Three Degrees’, ‘Walk Like a Man’ and tributes such as ‘Abbamania’, ‘The Elvis Years’ and ‘Beach Boys Smile’ to name a few. We have plenty of great stand-up comedy as we throw open the doors and welcome back Jim Davidson, Gary Delaney, Kevin Bloody Wilson & Paul Zerdin.

For theatre lovers The Studio opens it doors to some very exciting new work in ‘Gutted’ and ‘Orphan’ of which the details can be found within the brochure.

And if things needed to get any better, to make those long nights more bearable, the Autumn season always culminates with the Once again The Hazlitt Theatre has not The Hazlitt Theatre’s very own Pantomime forgotten its younger customers with shows Production. Once again we have gone out such as ‘Dear Zoo’ & ‘Mr Men and Little and got you someone very exciting to front Miss’. The fantastic Hazlitt Youth Theatre this years offering. We promise a great cast will be staging it’s very own unique version spearheaded by the very charming, very of ‘Fame’ and of course for our very little talented and all round great guy, Mr Jake customers, The Hazlitt will be welcoming Quickenden. Beauty and the Beast will be back ‘Little Star’ in December. The interactive a pantomime full of fun, song, dance and show designed for parent and baby that sold maybe even some fire!!!! And this year we out earlier this year is set to return. are officially Maidstone’s only panto!

The Three Degrees

With original members Helen Scott & Valerie Holiday. All the way from the USA… 50th Anniversary Tour. The Three Degrees are an American female vocal group, formed in 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The group has remained a trio with two original members since Sheila Ferguson left many moons ago. A firm favourite with Prince Charles they sang at his 30th birthday party and were guests at his wedding to Princess Diana.

Stick Man Celebrating 10 stick-tacular years!

Touching, funny and utterly original, Freckle Productions’ delightful adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s STICK MAN is back! Access

In order to ensure our booking fees are transparent please note the following information;

The Hazlitt Theatre is committed to make the venue as accessible and enjoyable an experience for all patrons as possible.

A booking fee of £1.50/£2.00 will be charged on each ticket, this fee directly supports the running costs of the Hazlitt Theatre. Ticket revenue is divided between many different parties and an increase in ticket prices may not necessarily benefit the theatre. By adding a small booking charge we ensure that every penny goes to supporting your theatre and ticket prices are kept to a minimum.

Disabled Access All our venues are wheelchair accessible. Guide dogs are most welcome. There are parking bays for people with disabilities sited adjacent to the venue. We also have lift access to all of our venues located in Rose Yard.

We are happy to post your tickets out to you for £1 or you can choose to collect them from the box office. In Person Hazlitt Theatre, Earl Street Maidstone, Kent, ME14 1PL, Monday – Saturday from 10am – 4pm. (Box Office opens 1 hour prior to each performance in the Hazlitt Theatre and 30mins for performances in the Exchange Studio).

Adapted toilet facilities are also available. The Hazlitt Theatre and Exchange Studio both have an infra red sound enhancement system for use with or without a hearing aid. Please ask a member of the Front of House who will be happy to ensure that you have access to this.
