El año arranca lleno de varias noticias interesantes y algunas de gran calado para Sotogrande. Un año en el que todos los estudios, informes y bolas de cristal apuntan a que será positivo y de un gran crecimiento y desarrollo económico en prácticamente todas las áreas. Un impulso que deje certidumbres de rentabilidad económica y que consolide proyectos nuevos en realidades. Esta edición de El Periódico de Sotogrande, la primera de 2016, estará presente de manera sustancial en Fitur 2016, la gran Feria Internacional de Turismo que se celebra cada año en el madrileño complejo de Ifema. Una cita imperdible para esta casa, en la que un año más se mostrarán los valores y grandes atractivos de Sotogrande en el mercado internacional. Un mercado que crece también y que busca

The year gets underway packed with several interesting notices, some of which are highly significant for Sotogrande. This is a year where all of the studies, reports and crystal balls point to a positive scenario with lots of growth and economic development in practically all areas. This drive should ensure economic profitability and turn new projects into realities. This edition of El Periódico de Sotogrande, the first of 2016, will have a significant presence at Fitur 2016, the great International Tourism Fair that is held each year at the Ifema exhibition complex in Madrid. This is an unmissable event for this publication, and once again this year we will be there showing off the assets and great attractions of Sotogrande to the international market.

El turismo de alta calidad, objetivo para Sotogrande Un año más esta cabecera de El periódico de Sotogrande, continua su andadura en el mercado. En su mancheta de portada indicaremos año 19, un largo periodo entre nuestros lectores y anunciantes que nos ha servido para fomentar y promocionar un lugar idílico como es Sotogrande. La relación de la Familia con turismo residencial y el deporte de nivel, confluyen en una fórmula de incalculable valor. El golf, el polo, la vela, la hípica y últimamente como sede de los
equipos europeos de fútbol en su parón invernal, han convertido a Sotogrande en una marca imbatible en el turismo de alta calidad. La propia marca de Sotogrande se ve arropada por Valderrama, recién adquirida por el Grupo La Zagaleta; el polo con clubes de primer orden mundial como Santa María Polo Club, Ayala Polo y Dos Lunas. Además de la suma de otros logotipos de prestigio como Puerto Sotogrande, San Roque Club, Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, La Reserva y así algunas firmas más de enorme relevancia hacen que el futuro, obviamente también el presente, sea espectacular para la zona. Aquí hay espacio para conseguir ser la envidia europea. Solamente esperamos que las cosas se sigan haciendo con respeto y con la mayor calidad posible. Es una exigencia lógica del mercado y de las expectativas creadas. En una de las últimas ediciones de este periódico, concretamente la 307 tras la celebración del VII Foro Empresarial que organiza Grupo HCP, tradicionalmente en otoño, uno de los
temas de debate más reincidentes, formar un colectivo empresarial en la zona, quedó grabado en los presentes y se tradujo en una interesante propuesta bajo el paraguas de ‘Amigos de Sotogrande’. Esta iniciativa recogía la necesidad de establecer un grupo, formado por empresarios y entidades locales que fomentase el crecimiento y desarrollo de Sotogrande con el apoyo de la Entidad Urbanística de Conservación Parques de Sotogrande. El objetivo de este colectivo sería el de colaborar con sus acciones y proponer nuevos proyectos que engrandeciesen la Urbanización y su entorno. Si buena fue la acogida esta idea en el propio Foro, posteriormente el resultado parece haber calado. Ahora es la propia Entidad de Conservación quien se pronuncia en este sentido en la presente edición mostrando su apoyo a tal iniciativa. Estos proyectos, de asociaciones empresariales, siempre suman y fortalecen al colectivo y propósito común. Será una idea a seguir de cerca y con la que estaremos encantados de contribuir como medio de información en Sotogrande. Sin más, esperar que este 2016 que arranca con fuerza cumpla con los augurios y anuncios de crecimiento para la economía de la zona. This commitment is consolidated each year, and will be even more so if that is even possible given the moments that are on the horizon for this unique resort, where tourism is the central backbone. However, the target is not any kind of tourism. Here, we are talking about “platinum card” tourism. The relationship between families, residential tourism and high-level sport, creates a priceless formula. Golf, polo, sailing, riding, and lately, the headquarters of European football sides during the winter break, have turned Sotogrande into an unbeatable brand of high-quality tourism. The brand of Sotogrande also receives support from its association to Valderrama, recently acquired by Grupo La Zagaleta; polo with some of the world’s leading clubs such as Santa María Polo Club, Ayala Polo and Dos Lunas. You could add other prestigious names such as Sotogrande Port, San Roque Club, Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, La
Reserva and even more brands of great significance that ensure the future, and obviously the present too, is spectacular for the area. Here we have the chance to become the envy of Europe. We simply hope that things continue to be done respectfully and with the highest level of quality possible. That is a logical demand of the market and a result of expectations that are created. Likewise, in order to present a solid image, full of certainty and great potential, we should aim to direct the area’s business framework in a single direction, in order to achieve the greatest possible impact abroad. Showing Sotogrande as a unique and privileged destination is a proposal that has featured among the comment of the main economic and social agents in the area, and it seems to be a particularly prominent theme now. In one of the last editions of this newspaper, specifically no.307 following the 7th Business Forum, organised by Grupo HCP, traditionally in autumn, one of the most often recurring issues of debate was that of setting up a business group in the area. It made an impact on those attending the forum, and led to an interesting proposal to set up a group under the name “The Friends of Sotogrande”. This initiative looked at the need to set establish a group,
comprised of local business people and entities in order to encourage the growth and development of Sotogrande along with the support of the Urban Conservation Entity for the Parks of Sotogrande. The aim of this group would be to collaborate on work and propose new projects that would further exalt the resort and its surroundings. The result was so warmly welcomed at the Forum itself, that the resulting idea seems to have made a real impact. Now the Urban Conservation entity itself is making a statement about the matter in this edition, showing its support for the initiative. These projects from business associations always contribute to and strengthen the collective and the shared aim. It is definitely something worth keeping an eye on ad we would be delighted to contribute as a media outlet in Sotogrande. El Ayuntamiento sella un convenio con La Cañada para fomentar el golf en personas con discapacidad ✑ Redacción
El Ayuntamiento, a través de la Delegación de Participación Ciudadana, ha suscrito un convenio de colaboración con el Club de Golf La Cañada para fomentar el golf en personas con discapacidad. El alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, ha firmado el convenio junto a José Chapaza, presidente del Club de Golf, y con la presencia del edil de Participación Ciudadana, David Ramos. El primer edil señaló que “con este convenio de participación Ciudadana pretendemos prestar ayuda para el fomento de actividades deportivas para personas con discapacidades físicas y síquicas”. Con esta subvención se garantiza la realización de las jornadas
de golf adaptado, que tradicionalmente se lleva a cabo en las instalaciones del Club y en el Campo Municipal de Golf La Cañada. El alcalde agradeció a Chapaza “el trabajo que se desempeña en La Cañada con las Escuelas Deportivas municipales de Golf, que atiende a más de 200 pequeños, y en especial a las actividades que se desarrollan con personas con discapacidad”. Ruiz Boix opina que “sin duda es una de las jornadas más bonitas, en la que acompañamos a estas personas con discapacidad en las más de 60 hectáreas del Campo Municipal de Golf La Cañada, con el apoyo de monitores y empleados del
Club de Golf”. También se refirió el alcalde a que “además de la práctica del deporte de golf adaptado, estas personas pueden disfrutar en un paraje idílico como este este campo de golf y su casa club, de un almuerzo de convivencia”. Por su parte, el presidente del Club de Golf La Cañada, José Chapaza, agradeció el apoyo incondicional del Ayuntamiento y en especial parta poder desarrollar estas jornadas de golf adaptado. Unos 75 jugadores, con distintas discapacidades físicas y psíquicas, reciben cada miércoles, coincidiendo con los meses del curso escolar, clases de golf adaptado en las instalaciones del club de Golf La Cañada.

El importe es de 1.200 euros. El alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, firmó el convenio junto a Rafael Reina, representante de la Fundación Santa María Polo, y con la presencia del edil de Participación Ciudadana, David Ramos. El primer edil señaló que “este convenio se incluye en los presupuestos de 2015 y se destina a un colectivo que viene trabajando con niños y niñas con discapacidad”. “La Fundación realiza su labor en las instalaciones de San Roque Club, principalmente en tratamientos de hipoterapia, con terapias validadas internacionalmente por servicios psicológicos a nivel internacional”, añadió el alcalde.

Carlos Molina Teniente de la Guardia Civil del Puesto Principal de Guadiaro
“El reto es conseguir que el ciudadano se sienta seguro y perciba una Guardia Civil cercana” El año comienza con la grata noticia del ascenso a Teniente de responsable del Cuartel de Guadiaro. Tras un año y cuatro meses en este destino, Molina destaca los positivos datos en la lucha contra la delincuencia y la fuerte vinculación y apoyo recibido por el Cuerpo por parte de los vecinos 1 Manuel Gil
Se trabaja de manera diaria y con un nivel de colaboración del 100%. La seguridad privada en la zona juega un papel fundamental en nuestra labor; las informaciones que ellos nos hacen llegar y el trabajo conjunto son claves para tener el mejor clima de seguridad. En esta línea, me gustaría agradecer la labor de Diego Jiménez [responsable de seguridad de la EUC Parques de Sotogrande y Puerto Sotogrande]. La relación es muy estrecha y la colaboración de la seguridad privada con la Guardia Civil permite prestar el mejor servicio al ciudadano.
Carlos Molina acumula 16 meses a cargo del Puesto Principal de la Guardia Civil de Guadiaro. Periplo que tacha de muy positivo de muy positivo en seguridad, haciendo frente a dos de los principales problemas de la zona: los delitos patrimoniales y de contrabando/narcotráfico. Resalta también el plano personal en el que asegura sentir el “apoyo y cariño” de unos vecinos en los que la figura de la Guardia Civil se encuentra muy asentada en su cultura. En primer lugar, enhorabuena. ¿Cómo recibió la noticia del ascenso? Justo con el comienzo del año. Aprobé la aposición para Oficial en el año 2010 y el pasado 1 de enero fue cuando me notificaron la noticia del ascenso. Indudablemente estoy muy contento y es un paso más en mi carrera. Quiero agradecer a todos esos amigos, compañeros y familiares que me han felicitado por el nombramiento. Suma 16 meses en el Valle del Guadiaro como destino. ¿Qué balance hace hasta el momento? En líneas generales, positivo. En el último año se han realizado 80 detenciones más que en el año anterior y se han conseguido esclarecer prácticamente el 50% de los delitos, son cifras que hablan de que se está trabajando en la buena dirección. En este tiempo hemos combatido los delitos patrimoniales
y se han desarticulado varias organizaciones. Pero en especial, quisiera resaltar y la gente así lo sabe, la atención personalizada que prestamos a los ciudadanos. En su recepción, servicio y cercanía. ¿Qué particularidades guarda esta zona respecto a la seguridad? Especialmente el contrabando y el tráfico de drogas. No es algo específico de este área, es de toda la comarca, aunque el Valle del Guadiaro es un lugar de paso hacia otros destinos.
Hemos conseguido desarmar varias organizaciones dedicadas a esta actividad y seguimos trabajando en ello. Pero quiero destacar que los vecinos sientan, a nivel general, una sensación de seguridad en muy alto grado. La Guardia Civil se encuentra totalmente a su disposición y por supuesto, aconseja que la propia seguridad empieza por el propio ciudadano. Otra de las características de la zona es el estrecho trabajo con entidades y seguridad privada…
¿Su vinculación con la zona es muy estrecha, verdad? Me siento muy identificado con el Valle del Guadiaro. Lo he dicho cada vez que he tenido ocasión y cuando me entregaron la placa el día de la Patrona lo reiteré en el discurso [el pasado 12 de octubre los vecinos hicieron entrega al Teniente una placa conmemorativa por su labor en beneficio de la zona]. Me siento un vecino más y de igual modo mi familia. Tengo grandes amigos y hacía mucho tiempo que no me encontraba en un lugar en el que los ciudadanos tengan tal cariño a la Guardia Civil. ¿Qué retos le plantea este nuevo año? Como mínimo que se mantenga el índice de delincuencia en la línea de lo que es-
tamos trabajando aunque el objetivo, obviamente, es que siga en descenso. Y hacer sentir al ciudadano que está seguro y que las puertas de la Guardia Civil, y la mía en particular, están siempre abiertas para lo que sea menester.
¿Le tendremos mucho tiempo por aquí? Hay posibilidades…y por mí no va a quedar. Estoy muy vinculado a la zona y a labor que desempeño aquí. Sería bueno darle continuidad a lo que estamos haciendo y al menos que hasta lograr un futuro ascenso a Capitán, dentro de 7 u 8 años, pueda permanecer en el Valle del Guadiaro. He recibido mucho cariño y apoyo de muchas personas de la zona. También me gustaría agradecer la dedicación y apoyo de Juan Roca, así como de todas las autoridades competentes: Ayuntamiento, Policía Local, etc.; que tanto colaboran y mantienen su compromiso por los ciudadanos.

“The challenge is to ensure that citizens feel safe and close to the Guardia Civil” This year begins with the good news of Carlos Molina being promoted to lieutenant and head of the Guadiaro Guardia Civil Unit. Following a year and four months at this unit, Molina highlights positive figures in the fight against crime and the Guardia Civil’s strong links to residents and the support shown by the public towards the Guardia Civil Carlos Molina has now been in charge of the Guardia Civil Headquarters in Guadiaro for 16 months. He has stated that this has been a very positive time in terms of security, facing up to two of the main problems in the area: property crime and smuggling / drug trafficking. On a personal level, he also emphasises that he feels the “support and affection” of residents for whom the Guardia Civil is an institution deeply rooted in their culture. First of all, congratulations! How did you receive the news of the promotion? Just at the beginning of the year. I passed the public examinations to become an Official in 2010 and 1 January was when I was notified of the promotion. I am undoubtedly very happy and this is another step forward in my career. I want to thank all of my friends, colleagues and family members that have congratulated me on the appointment. You have spent 16 months working in Valle del Guadiaro.
What is your assessment up until now? Generally speaking, it has been positive. Over the last year there have been 80 more arrests than the previous year and we have solved practically 50% of crimes. These are figures that show that we are working in the right time. During this time we have combatted property crime and have dismantled several organisations. However I would especially like to highlight the personalised care that we provide to citizens, in terms of reception, service and closeness, and people are awareness of this. What is particular about this area with regard to security? Smuggling and drug trafficking are particular problems. This is not something specific to this area, it happens in the entire region, although Valle del Guadiaro is a stop off point on the way towards other destinations. We have managed to dismantle several organisations dedicated to these activities and we keep working on that. However, I want to highlight the fact that generally, residents feel very safe. La Entidad tratará de apoyar iniciativas que fijen sus objetivos en todo tipo de proyectos que pretendan el interés general, con la condición esencial de evitar cualquier lucro directo, y que repercutan en mejoras de los ciudadanos de la zona. En los últimos meses se ha podido percibir un aumento el numero de dueños de perros que pasean por la Urbanización, bien sean residentes o simplemente personas que realizan un paseo por el complejo, y no recogen posteriormente las deposiciones de los animales. Esta premisa es una cuestión fundamental para la imagen y buen funcionamiento de la
estética propia de la Urbanización. De hecho, la misma viene recogida en el Artículo 17 de las Ordenanzas Municipales del Ayuntamiento de San Roque en la que se establece la obligación de recoger la suciedad derivada de ello. Así mismo, la Entidad Urbanística de Conservación se ha sumado al llamamiento para una mayor colaboración por parte
de todos los vecinos y residentes para contribuir en la buena imagen y estética; parte fundamental y sello propio de la zona.

Adrián Calvente Vega tiene 17 años y vive en Torreguadiaro. Es un chico abierto y simpático, le gusta pasar rato con sus amigos y guarda una pasión que le ha cautivado desde pequeño: la cocina. Adrián es uno de los 50 preseleccionados en el prestigioso concurso de la Escuela de Alta Cocina Le Cordon Bleu, de Madrid, como una de las promesas de los fogones en nuestro país. Actualmente se encuentra cursando el segundo curso de la Escuela de Hostelería de San Roque. ¿La afición por la cocina es algo que tenías desde pequeño? Es algo que desde muy temprana edad me llamó la atención. El resto de aficiones me aburrían un poco y me di cuenta que lo que más me gustaba era cocinar. Empecé ayudando en el Asador, con la familia, hasta el punto que cuando me quedaba en casa lo que hacía era probar recetas y cocinar a escondidas (bromea). Siempre he tenido esa inquietud por probar cosas nuevas. ¿Y te decides a iniciar los estudios? Exactamente. Mi sueño se convirtió en esa época en conseguir entrar en la Escuela de Hostelería. Costó un pelín de esfuerzo pero lo conseguí y estoy haciendo lo que más me gusta. La cocina pasa por un ‘boom’ televisivo desde hace algunos años, ¿influyó algo en ti? No especialmente. Yo tenía afición por la cocina desde pequeño. Ahora todo el mundo ve estos programas y se cree cocinero, es bueno que tenga más reconocimiento este mundo. Pero lo mío venía de antes.

Cuéntanos cómo llega la oportunidad del concurso de Le Cordon Bleu. Este concurso estaba en mi cabeza desde hacía tiempo. Es el más importante de España, ya que conlleva una beca para esta importante Escuela y ayudas para estudiar en la más prestigiosa academia de cocina. Primero hubo una selección interna en la Escuela de Hostelería de San Roque; había que realizar una receta y resulté ganador. Algo bastante complicado ya que también se presentan alumnos de cursos superiores y con mucha más experiencia y técnica. ¿Y tras ello? En las Escuela, apoyados por los informes de los profesores, pre-
sentaron mi candidatura a este concurso. Y Le Cordon Bleu me seleccionó junto a 49 jóvenes cocineros de toda España para la siguiente fase. Ahora tengo que preparar antes del 31 de enero un video con una receta original. Mandarla (con una serie de requisitas e indicaciones); y esperar a ver si me eligen entre los 10 finalistas que acudirán a Madrid para la Gran Final. Esto sería todo un lujo, vas con todos los gastos pagados y te valora un jurado que suele estar formado por cocineros con Estrella Michelín. ¿Irás a por todas? Por supuesto, si me presento es para ganar o al menos competir. Tengo ambición y muchas ganas aunque debo reconocer que también se presenta gente de mucho nivel y experiencia. ¿Qué tipo de cocina es la que más te gusta? Si tuviera que ponerle un nombre…diría que cocina de fusión, cocina moderna. Me gusta emplear técnicas modernas. ¿Lo mejor de todo es que te diviertes cocinando? No hay nada mejor ni con lo que disfrute más. La satisfacción cuando cocino algo, probar cosas distintas…es lo que más me gusta del mundo. Mucha suerte. Gracias.

First of all there was an internal selection at San Roque Hotel and Catering School; we had to create a recipe and I won. That was hard enough in itself because pupils from older years took part, and they had much more experience and technique. And after that? The School, backed by reports from teachers, presented my candidacy for the competition. Le Cordon Bleu selected me for the next stage along with 49 young chefs from all over Spain. Now I have to prepare a video with an original recipe before the 31 January. I have to send it (with a series of requirements and instructions); and wait to see if they choose me among the 10 finalists that will go to Madrid for the Grand Final. That would be a real luxury, you go with all expenses paid and you are assessed by a jury that is usually comprised of Michelin Star chefs. Are you really going for victory? Of course, if I am taking place it is to win or at least compete. I am ambitious and really enthusiastic although I have to admit that there are also a lot of people with lots of skill and experience taking part. What is your favourite type of cooking? If I had to describe it…I would say fusion cooking, modern cooking. I like to use modern techniques. The best thing must be that you enjoy cooking? There is nothing better, nothing that I enjoy more. La actual situación política Antes de las elecciones había mucha gente que estaba deseando el fin del bipartidismo en España porque eso iba a traer innumerables ventajas para el país. Las elecciones han tenido lugar, el fin del bipartidismo se ha producido y yo no he visto ningu1 Luis Babiano na ventaja en ello. Antes Abogados / Lawyers al contrario, estamos en Sotogrande presencia de un panorama político inestable y desequilibrado en la que cualquier combinación de cualquier partido para formar gobierno es prácticamente imposible. Desde la misma noche electoral quedó claro que la única fórmula para formar un gobierno con garantías que diera estabilidad y equilibrio era un acuerdo entre el PP, PSOE y Ciudadanos. Y desde aquel momento todos los medios de comunicación repiten casi al unísono que este pacto tripartito es la mejor fórmula para los momentos políticos que estamos viviendo. Parece que tanto los Populares como los Ciudadanos son conscientes de ello y que el único que no se ha enterado, por ahora, es el socialista Sánchez. Creo que a cualquiera que realice un análisis equilibrado y objetivo de la situación no le cabrá la menor duda de que esta es la mejor vía de garantizar el bienestar general de todos los ciudadanos pero ¿les interesa también a los políticos? Albergo grandes dudas al respecto. Si seguimos adelante con el análisis de la situación y atendiendo siempre la finalidad última del pacto tripartito, será fácil deducir que en el camino serán sacrificados tanto el socialista Sánchez como el popular Rajoy. Por mucho que quiera engañar a los demás (pienso que ni él mismo se lo cree), los resultados del señor Sánchez en
las elecciones han sido las peores que ha tenido el Partido Socialista en toda la historia de la democracia y constituye un batacazo enorme sin ningún paliativo. Sin embargo, y a pesar de sus exiguos 90 diputados ¡¡quiere formar gobierno y ser Presidente!! No creo que lo consiga pero, si lo hace, estaremos en una situación de las peores posibles para el país porque tendría que contar con aliados incompatibles con lo que hasta ahora era el ideario político del socialismo español. En este sentido a mí el señor Sánchez me recuerda vez más al señor Zapatero que por tal de aniquilar a su adversario político fue capaz de suscribir los acuerdos más nefastos posibles para la nación. Baste simplemente con recordar los tripartitos que se montaron en Cataluña de tan infausto recuerdo. Porque, por mucho que el señor Sánchez repita que la situación política catalana actual es debida a la intransigencia del PP, lo cierto es que el germen de la situación se plantó en los momentos de los tripartitos. Tampoco entiendo que si la voluntad del señor Sánchez era ser Presidente, insultar a como lo hizo al señor Rajoy en el debate televisivo que ambos mantuvieron, creando una herida innecesaria en las relaciones entre ambos y en el peor momento. A mí me recordaba al Chávez venezolano que tuvo que ser callado por el Rey emérito y no le veo actuando en foros internacionales con la necesaria dignidad y respeto hacia los otros. Podría seguir haciendo el ridículo como lo hizo Zapatero de quien se mofaban sus colegas europeos. Y si el señor Sánchez no consigue ser Presidente resulta claro y meridiano que será removido de su cargo de secretario general del partido. En consecuencia, esta posibilidad de ser Presidente es la única que le queda al señor Sánchez para la viabilidad de su carrera política personal. Nos encontramos por tanto con el primer dilema: carrera política del señor Sánchez o interés general del país. Pero es que al señor Rajoy le puede suceder lo mismo. No es nada de extraño que dentro de un hipotético pacto con las tres partes, tanto socialistas como ciudadanos pidan la cabeza de don Mariano. Tanto socialistas como ciudadanos
se han pasado la campaña política hablando de regeneración democrática y de echar al señor Rajoy de la Presidencia del Gobierno, por lo que su defenestración es un objetivo común a ambos partidos. También, dentro de la lógica del Partido Socialista, tendría mucho sentido justificar su entrada en una coalición contando con la contrapartida de la cabeza de Rajoy. Me imagino que también la izquierda y ultraizquierda se aquietaría con más tranquilidad a un gobierno popular sin contar con la figura del actual Presidente. Es decir, que salvo el propio Mariano, el resto de los partidos políticos del arco parlamentario vería con buenos ojos su salida y sería más fácil para el PP pactar el liderazgo del nuevo gobierno de coalición. Esta salida podría resultar beneficiosa tanto para el país como para el propio partido. Para el partido porque, después de tantos años, se quitaría la pesada losa de la corrupción que tanto daño le ha hecho y posibilitaría la regeneración interna. Para el país, porque su sacrificio personal posibilitaría el acuerdo tripartito que tanto necesitamos los españoles y facilitaría la formación de un gobierno liderado por el PP. Nos encontraríamos por tanto con el segundo dilema: carrera política del señor Rajoy o interés general del país. No creo que nadie dude que los intereses generales del país deban primar sobre los personales de los políticos por muy relevantes que sean y por muchos favores y beneficios que hayan tenido para la nación. Pero mi gran duda es si, sabiendo que el pacto supone su sacrificio personal, lucharán por él tal y como merecemos los ciudadanos. De ser esto así, entrando dentro de la política ficción y desaparecidos de la escena política tanto Rajoy como Sánchez, lo normal sería que el socialista fuera reemplazado por Susana Díaz y el popular por Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría. Ambas me merecen el mayor de los respetos porque creo que han demostrado tener madera de estadistas y saber distinguir con nitidez los intereses del Estado de los partidistas y/o personales de tal forma que a mí no me disgustaría un gobierno en el que ambas tuvieran responsabilidades políticas ¿y a ustedes?

Since that moment all of the media have practically stated in unison that this three-way pact is the best formula for the period of politics that we are living through. It seems that the PP and Ciudadanos are both aware of this and the only person that has not realised it yet is the PSOE leader Sánchez. I believe that if anyone carries out a balanced and objective analysis of the situation they will have no doubt that this is the best means of guaranteeing the general wellbeing of all citizens, but are the politicians also interested? I have some doubts about that. If we continue with an analysis of the situation and also bear in mind the final purpose of the three-party pact, it is easy to deduce that the PSOE leader Sánchez and the PP leader Rajoy would be sacrificed along the way. However much he wants to fool others (I do not think that he even believes it himself), the results of Mr Sánchez in the elections were the worst that the Socialist Party has had in the democratic era. However, despite his meagre total of 90 members of parliament, he wants to form a government and be President! I do not think that he will achieve that but, if he does, we will be in one of the worst possible situations for the country because he would need political allies that would have been incompatible up until now
with the political ideology of Spanish socialism. In this regard, Sánchez is increasingly reminiscent of Zapatero, who in order to crush his political adversary was able to sign the most harmful agreements possible for the nation. You simply need to remember the infamous tripartite agreements in Catalonia. Because, however much Sánchez repeats that the current political situation in Catalonia is due to the intransigence of the PP, the fact is that the seed of the situation was sown at the time of the tripartite agreements. I also fail to understand why, if Sánchez wanted to become President, he would insult Rajoy like he did in the television debate they had, creating an unnecessary wound in relations between them and at the worst time possible. It reminded me of the time when the former leader of Venezuela Hugo Chávez had to be told to shut up by the former King Juan Carlos I and I cannot imagine him acting at international forums with the necessary respect and dignity towards others. He could keep acting ridiculous like Zapatero, who was mocked by his European colleagues. If Sánchez does not end up becoming President, it is clear and blatantly obvious that he will be removed from his role as general secretary of the party. Consequently, becoming President is the only option left for Sánchez if he wants his personal political career to remain valid. We are therefore faced with our first dilemma: the political career of Sánchez or the general interests of the country. However, the fact is that the same could happen to Rajoy. It is not surprising at all that within a hypothetical pact between the three parties, the socialists as well as Ciudadanos would call for Mariano Rajoy to go. The PSOE and Ciudadanos have spent the political campaign talking about democratic regeneration and throwing Rajoy out of the presidency, therefore his removal from power is an aim shared by both parties. Also, following the logic of the Socialist Party, it would make a lot of sense to justify join-
ing a coalition by using the head of Rajoy to counterbalance such entry. I also imagine that the left and radical left would have an easier time dealing with a PP government without the figure of the current President. That is to say, except for Mariano, the rest of the political parties in parliament would approve of him leaving and it would be easier for the PP to pact the leadership of the new coalition government. This departure could be beneficial for the country as well as for the party itself. For the party because, after so many years, it would remove the heavy burden of corruption that has caused so much damage and it would facilitate internal regeneration. It could be beneficial for the country because his personal sacrifice would pave the way for the tripartite agreement that is so badly needed by the Spanish and it would make it easier to form a government led by the PP. We therefore find ourselves facing the second dilemma: Rajoy’s political career or the general interest of the country. I do not believe that anyone doubts that the general interests of the country should take priority over the personal interests of politicians however they and regardless of how many favours and benefits they have had for the nation. However, my great doubt is whether, knowing that the pact will involve a personal sacrifice, they will fight for it as the citizens deserve. If this was the case, entering into a hypothetical political situation with Rajoy and Sánchez off the political scene, you would expect the socialist leader to be replaced by Susana Díaz and the PP leader to be replaced by Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría. I think that both deserve the highest level of respect because they have both shown that they have what it takes to be stateswomen and clearly distinguish the interests of the State from party and/or personal interests in such a way that I would not mind to see a government where both had political responsibilities. Sotogrande, como no podía ser de otra forma, pone de manifiesto su tradicional carácter solidario y se suma a esta grata empresa. Si bien el pasado año se realizó un evento en la Finca Mar de Naranjos, todo un éxito, también se proyecta ya otra cita de similares características para el próximo verano. Sotogrande shows it charitable heart with the victims of the Nepal earthquake The project “Revive Nepal” leads a charity campaign to collaborate on the reconstruction of zones affected by the tragedy The Revive Nepal project is an initiative that arouse spontaneously as a way of approaching and collaborating with the victims of the earthquake that struck the country last year. Since then, different projects have been carried out to try and raise funds and contribute towards the charity cause. As you would expect, Sotogrande has shown its typical charitable nature and joined this admirable cause. Last year an event took place at Finca Mar de Naranjos, and was a real success, another similar event has now been planned for next summer. Also, it has the support of several well-known faces. On Friday 22 January, Grup La Pesquera’s Restaurante El Braserón will hold a charity dinner where the project will be presented to those present. There will also be performances from the artists Arcángel and Pitingo. All of the profits raised will go towards the project. Revive Nepal was set up for the purpose of rebuilding residences, schools and clinics that were affected by the
earthquake. In December, one of the architects leading the initiative visited Nepal in order to get first-hand knowledge of the needs of the area of Gorkha, one of the most affected by the tragedy. In February two architects will head to Nepal to begin the first phase of the project. The primary aim is to rebuild homes, schools and medical facilities, with earthquake resistant and sustainable structures. The project will also train local people about better techniques for more suitable buildings and provide tools and techniques that make it possible to continue rebuilding affected areas. Following this, work will begin on a school and a multiuse space that will also serve as a clinic. This is the first step, in addition to acquiring materials such as bamboo and adobe which are ideal for such projects. Andalucía comienza el 2016 con un total de 43.859 licencias de golf registradas

El golf amateur en España mantiene la inercia de decrecimiento en cuanto al número de licencias registradas aunque bien es cierto que el ‘positivo 2015’, en diferentes sectores, han incidido en que el descenso se haya frenado respecto a los últimos años. El año 2016 arranca en España con 277.782 licencias, lo que supone una caída del 2,7% frente a las 285.493 del pasado curso. Un descenso inferior al de los últimos ejercicios teniendo en cuenta que al inicio de 2015 cayó un 3,7% y en 2014 un 6%. Una alta cifra de registros a nivel territorial, comparable al de los años 2006/7 aunque aún lejos del récord histórico que se registró en el año 2010 con un total de 338.588. Destacar que de esta cifra vigente, la cuota femenina supera las 81.000 licencias, lo que supone un 29,5% del total, una cifra algo inferior al 29,7% que supuso la misma categoría el pasado año. Resaltar del mismo modo que la cantera goza de bue-
na salud, ya que se registran más de 23.000 licencias en menores de 16 años y supera los 34.000 inscritos si se contemplan hasta los 21 años, suponiendo un 12,5% del total. Destacar que de manera autonómica Andalucía aporta 9.253 jóvenes golfistas. De los cuales, el área de Sotogrande aporta 824, lo que se convierte la cantera del Valle del Gudiaro en un 9% de toda la autonomía. Propiamente, Andalucía se mantiene con 43.859 licencias en su Federación como la segunda Comunidad del
territorio, sólo superada, como es costumbre, por la madrileña con casi 82.775 registros. En consonancia con los datos generales, la región andaluza decrece en un 2,7% respecto al pasado año (45.083) pero frena su caída en un 0,3% con datos anteriores a 2014. Si ha tenido un descenso más notable Cádiz, a nivel provincial, al cotejar los 9.881 registros vigentes con los 10.555 del calendario anterior aunque resiste como la cuarta provincia en todo el territorio, detrás de Madrid, Barcelona y Málaga (18.415), por ese orden. En lo que se deduce que se coloca en el segundo puesto del escalafón a nivel autonómico. Entre ambas, Málaga y Cádiz, aportan el 64,5% de las licencias en toda Andalucía. En lo que se refiere a la zona de Sotogrande y el Valle del Guadiaro, el número de licencias suponen un total de 3.859, por lo que decrece en sintonía con el resto de datos bajo la media del 2,7% (3.929, el pasado curso), aunque reafirma su presencia y potencial en compara-
ción respecto al resto de la provincia. Si el pasado año el área de Sotogrande aportaba el 37% de las licencias de Cádiz, este año, en datos contabilizados a 1 de enero de 2016, supone el 39%. En cuanto a un estudio más específico en las cifras de los clubes de Sotogrande y el Valle del Guadiaro, el descenso ha sido muy corto, sólo 60 licencias, que se reparte en dos grupos; ya que una serie de clubes han subido respecto a otros años. Estos son: San Roque Club que acumula 352, Real Club Valderrama (230), La Reserva de Sotogrande (84) y Sotogrande International Golf Academy (SIGA) que fija su cuota en 81 licencias y logra el mayor incremento porcentual junto con Valderrama. Cediendo algunos registros, pero como se explicaba en corta medida, se encuentran Real Club de Golf Sotogrande (1.167), La Cañada (1.509, siendo el de mayor número de la zona), Alcaidesa Golf (233) y Almenara Golf (203). Datos que en contraposi-
ción con el resto de porcentajes y cifras dan la percepción de que el descenso ha mermado notablemente en referencia a los últimos años y que el cambio de inercia se producirá más pronto que tarde. Resta sólo repasar el apartado de las cifras de los profesionales de golf inscritos en las diferentes autonomía. La notable cifra de los 299 registrados en Andalucía es sólo superada por la Federación de Madrid que acumula 334 profesionales dedicados al golf. Unos datos que analizados con la perspectiva de los últimos años y que condicionados por la coyuntura económica del último lustro tomaron una deriva de descenso, permiten interpretar que el punto de inflexión se encuentra relativamente cerca y que en el próximo ciclo podría colocarse en el umbral del crecimiento.

Amateur golf has maintained a slow fall in the number of licenses registered although it is true that the “positive 2015” in different sectors has but a brake on the fall compared to the last few years. 2016 begins in Spain with 277,782 licenses, which amounts to a 2.7% drop compared to the 285,493 of last year. This drop is less than that of the last few financial years, bearing in mind that the number dropped by 3.7% at the start of 2015 and 6% in 2014. This is a high number of registrations on a nationwide level, comparable to the figure of 2006/2007 although it is still far from the historic record of 2010 when there were a total of 338,588 licenses. It is worth highlighting that

These figures analysed with the perspective of the last few years and conditioned by the economic climate of the last five years show a downturn. However, it is now possible to see that the turning point is not far away and that next year we could see figures grow again.

A. inicia la finalización de las infraestructuras en La Reserva, paralizados desde 2008. • El plan del trabajo se ha planteado con el objetivo de su total integración en el entorno, respetando los principios desarrollados por los fundadores de Sotogrande. • Una vez terminado el sistema de carreteras, residentes e invitados tendrán acceso interno completo a las instalaciones de todo el recinto de La Reserva. • A finales de junio de 2016 está previsto que finalicen las obras, que generarán 175 empleos directos e indirectos y beneficiará directamente a la comunidad local. Sotogrande S. A. anunció la reanudación de las obras en el tramo final de la carretera principal y los servicios públicos de La Reserva, Sotogrande. Tras un extenso proceso de licitación, la empresa OHL fue seleccionada como contratista general. Esta obra, cuenta con un presupuesto de 8 M€, tiene un impacto positivo en la economía local tanto por proveedores como puestos de trabajo con un máximo de 175 puestos directos e indirectos. Marc Topiol, CEO de Sotogrande S. A., adirmó que, “con la finalización de una obra de esta magnitud, La Reserva da su primer paso hacia la integración de la comunidad en un área con acceso a todas las instalaciones sin tener que salir del perímetro. si a los comercios les repercute para bien y qué ha cambiado respecto a navidades pasadas. Estas navidades, un lugar resaltó especialmente: La Marina. Y lo es por dos cosas: uno, por el alumbrado, el cual maravi-
lló a vecinos y visitantes. Y segundo, la pista de patinaje que instalaron en La Reserva y que posteriormente se pasó a La Marina. Respecto a los negocios, que en la temporada estival es cuando
viven su punto más álgido del año, agradecieron iniciativas como decorados espectaculares o la propia pista de patinaje como reclamo para que la gente salga a disfrutar. En cuanto a mejoras, mayor

Christmas had a positive impact on businesses and what changed in relation to last Christmas. This Christmas, one place especially stood out: the Marina. This is a result of two things; firstly, the lights, which amazed resi-
dents and visitors. Secondly, because of the ice skating rink that was installed at La Reserva before being subsequently moved to the Marina.. As for businesses, that tend to experience their peak point of
the year during summer, they were grateful for initiatives such as spectacular decorations or the ice rink that enticed people to come out and enjoy themselves. As for improvements, there was a greater range in other
areas of Sotogrande and Valle del Guadiaro, more lighting in more places in Guadiaro, San Enrique and Torreguadiaro, and there were also events such as concerts and activities for children.

El Parque de Mayores de Torreguadiaro se inauguró este martes, 12 de enero, con la presencia de varios vecinos de la barriada y representantes de la Corporación Municipal. El alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, fue el encargado de destapar la placa conmemorativa como recuerdo a tal efeméride. El parque consta concretamente de un total de 16 máquinas que abarcan prácticamente todo el arco de ejercicios que necesitan las personas para fortalecer y practicar con las diferentes articulaciones y extremidades del cuerpo. El parque fue acogido de buen grado por los vecinos ya que se trataba de una de las grandes demandas de la zona y así diferentes colectivos se lo habían hecho saber a las
autoridades municipales. Se encuentra ubicado en la planta inferior de los aparcamientos de la playa de Torreguadiaro y la partida para su creación viene dada del Presupuesto Municipal de 2015, dentro del marco de actuaciones que dibujaba una red de parques de este tipo en todas las barriadas municipales. Si bien hace algunos días este medio se hacía eco de que pese no ha-
ber sido inaugurado oficialmente varias personas ya hacían uso del mismo y además se habían quitado las envolturas de protección y dejado en malas condiciones; hoy ya aparece perfectamente presentado y listo para el uso y disfrute de los vecinos. Muchos de ellos pertenecientes a los talleres deportivos municipales que también podrán realizar actividades al aire libre.
The Torreguadiaro Park for Elderly People has been officially opened The Torreguadiaro Park for Elderly People was opened on Tuesday, 12 January, with many residents of the neighbourhood in attendance alongside representatives from the Municipal Corporation. The mayor, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix unveiled a commemorative plaque as a way of remembering the special date. Specifically, the park has a total of 16 machines that cover a complete range of exercises required by people in order to become stronger and work out on different joints and parts of the body. The park was warmly welcomed by res-
ident as it was one of the major requests in the area, and different groups had made the municipal authorities aware of this need. Indeed, some days ago this newspaper reported the fact that despite the park not having opened officially, several people were already using it and had removed the protective coverings and left the park in poor condition; now the park is perfectly presented and ready to be used and enjoyed by residents. Many of them participate in the municipal sports workshops that will now be able to carry out activities outdoors.

El nuevo parque de mayores de San Enrique, inaugurado. El recinto lo forman un total de trece aparatos con los que los mayores pueden realizar ejercicios en la zona de acceso al antiguo centro de salud, en una zona de césped junto a los aparcamientos. El parque sirve para proporcionar a los vecinos de mayor edad un lugar cercano a sus viviendas donde ejercitarse físicamente y así prolongar sus años de existencia y tener más calidad de vida.

Ubicada en el gaditano San Roque, a un paso de la bulliciosa Marbella o de la paradisiaca Tarifa, Sotogrande es una de las urbanizaciones más exclusivas del mundo. Creada a principio de los años sesenta por Joseph McMicking, como lugar idílico en el que vivir y pasar las vacaciones, esta urbanización ha ido tomando su propia esencia, convirtiéndose en el refugio discreto y excepcional de las grandes fortunas del planeta. Uno de los elementos que más han contribuido a forjar la esencia de Sotogrande ha sido el saber apostar por el “menos es más”, conservando una baja densidad de construcción a pesar de la fuerte demanda vivida en toda la Costa hace algunos años. Sotogrande no es una urbanización copada de altos bloques de pisos o apartamentos. El resort destaca, precisamente, por ser todo lo contrario. Grandes avenidas con palmeras, que recuerdan a California, conforman el mapa de este lugar, donde las casas, de cientos de metros cuadrados, se denominan villas, los muros se cons-
truyen bajos, y los veleros se atracan en la puerta de las casas. Otro de los ejes vertebrales so-
bre los que se ha forjado este excepcional destino es el concepto de familia. Sotogrande nació como una gran familia y se desarrolló, en todos los
sentidos, a partir de esta premisa. Por eso, por ejemplo, la urbanización cuenta con uno de los mejores colegios de Europa: el Sotogrande International School (SIS). Un centro ( el único con internado para alumnos del Bachillerato Internacional de España) de gran prestigio internacional, que lleva décadas educando al más alto nivel en Sotogrande, y que cuenta con un afamado programa de campamentos de verano en los que el deporte y los idiomas son los máximos protagonistas. El deporte es el tercer gran motor de Sotogrande. Tanto es así, que la urbanización creció y se definió, precisamente, a partir de la construcción de un campo de golf: el del Real Club de Golf de Sotogrande, en marcha desde 1964. A él se fueron sumando, poco a poco, otros campos, convirtiendo a la zona en un gran paraíso del golf. En la actualidad, Sotogrande cuenta con siete magníficos trazados: El mencionado Real Club de Golf de Sotogrande;
El Real Club de Golf Valderrama; Almenara Golf, La Reserva, San Roque Club (Old y New Course), Alcaidesa Golf (Links y Heathland), y La Cañada Golf, cuna de la gran cantera de jóvenes promesas que cada año sale de sus clases. Un selecto grupo, con 171 hoyos en total, que convierte a Sotogrande en el mejor destino deportivo de lujo en el sector golf de toda Europa. El polo es el otro gran deporte de Sotogrande. Una práctica muy arraigada en la urbanización desde sus inicios. Ya en 1965 la urbanización contaba con la mítica cancha de La Playa que, construida de la mano de Enrique Zobel, era el punto de encuentro de los residentes durante las tardes de verano. El tercer deporte de Sotogrande es la vela. Los amantes del mar cuentan en la urbanización con el Real Club Marítimo de Sotogrande, desde el que se orquestan todo tipo de actividades y competiciones, como la famosa regata de Sotogrande, que cada año se celebra al llegar agosto. A través del Real Club, la urbanización cuenta, también, con una prestigiosa Escuela de Vela, encargada de instruir en esta práctica a las nuevas generaciones de Sotogrande. Asimismo, durante todo el año, la urbanización disfruta de otras competiciones, como el Circuito J80. Sotogrande, destination of excellence • The touristic richness of Andalusia is vast. Sotogrande is one of the great destinations in this privileged region. Buenos datos del turismo Las perspectivas del sector turístico son importantes para la economía española en general y para la de Sotogrande en particular. Todo indica que 2015 ha sido un año excelente para el turismo en nuestro país y que las perspectivas son positivas.

Hasta hace relativamente poco había dudas sobre la evolución turística del año pasado, por la desaceleración registrada en el tercer trimestre. Sin embargo, las cifras que hemos venido conociendo del cuarto trimestre ratifican la tendencia al alza del conjunto del año; la caída de visitantes desde Rusia se ha visto más que compensada por el aumento de visitantes e ingresos desde otros países como Francia, Estados Unidos y varias naciones asiáticas. Las estadísticas de las exportaciones españolas –y el turismo es una exportación de singular relevancia–
avalan los muy buenos datos en ese ámbito en 2015. Lógicamente, es más fácil constatar las informaciones del pasado que vislumbrar las del futuro. Sin embargo, a la hora de ponderar las fortalezas y debilidades del sector de cara al próximo curso cabe aventurar una hipótesis optimista. Sería absurdo negar que nos rodean amenazas en sentido contrario, desde las perturbaciones políticas en España y en el exterior hasta procesos de desaceleración económica en varios países emergentes, empezando por China, y la sacudida que en los países exportadores significa el derrumbe de los precios del crudo. Pero esa misma caída es estimulando para los compradores, como lo es también la consolidación de la recupera-
ción económica en Europa, y en España en especial, y Estados Unidos, y la posible depreciación del euro. En América Latina, por fin, las cifras vienen afectadas por la situación de Brasil, la mayor economía de la zona junto con México, y que va a travesar un duro ajuste. Sin embargo, hay señales económicas diferentes en otros países, y señales políticas, en particular la crisis del populismo, reflejada en un cambio en la Asamblea Nacional en Venezuela y en la presidencia de la República Argentina. En la medida en que este traspié de las políticas más intervencionistas dé lugar a una mayor prosperidad, podremos tener más turistas latinoamericanos en España, incluyendo, por supuesto, a quienes vienen a admirar a los magníficos polistas que cada año nos visitan en Sotogrande.
Good tourism figures The prospects of the tourism sector are important for the Spanish economy in general and for Sotogrande particularly. Everything indicates that 2015 was an excellent year for tourism in our country and that future prospects are positive. Until quite recently there was doubt surrounding development of the tourism sector, owing to the economic downturn experienced in the third quarter. World’s great showcase The 2016 Fitur Fair, which Grupo HCP is attending once again to promote the assets of Sotogrande, has broken another record, 9500 companies from 165 companies and regions participating, with almost 60,000m2 of exhibition space. Aunque la alta competición durante el mes de mayo continúa en los días 28 y 29 con la celebración de la Copa de Andalucía de Vela de J80. Si bien el año pasado esta disciplina, que en el último lustro se ha convertido en una de las predominantes y de mayor fama en Sotogrande, celebrara en estas aguas el Campeonato de España; este año, será escenario del propio campeonato andaluz y del Campeonato del Mundo. Ésta será la segunda gran cita de la temporada. Del 25 de junio al 2 de julio, Sotogrande será el campo de regata del Campeonato del Mundo de J80, otra gran cita internacional que centrará todas las miradas del mundo de la vela. Y por supuesto, citas anuales que mantienen su continuidad con base en el Puerto Deportivo, como es el Circuito de J80 o el Campeonato de Cruceros Interclubes del Estrecho de Gibraltar. Pero si una competición guarda especial encanto y tiene su esencia es la tradicional Regata de Sotogrande que se celebra cada año en el Puente de Agosto. Una cita de gran estima para los residentes en la zona y que cada edición atrae a más competidores de fuera de la Urbanización.
El mundo de la Vela mirará este año 2016 a Sotogrande. Dos grandes competiciones internacionales, que se disputarán a comienzos del próximo verano, situarán a la zona en el principal foco del mundo de la vela. Una gran apuesta deportiva que se une a los tradicionales campeonatos que se celebran anualmente en aguas de Sotogrande. Un escenario idóneo para la práctica de este deporte que año a año da pasos de gigantes como gran sede de competiciones de alto nivel. La primera de las grandes citas internacionales llegará entre el 10 y 15 el de mayo, con la celebración de la segunda prueba del Tour Internacional de Vela de la disciplina de RC44; una de las embarcaciones más imponentes de las que compiten en el mundo de la vela y realmente rápidas. De ahí que tengan el sobrenombre de los ‘Fórmula-1 de la vela’. Es la segunda ocasión en la que esta competición elige a Sotogrande como una de sus sedes, en 2014, las aguas de Sotogrande se estrenaron como campo de regata para estas super-embarcaciones. El Tour Internacional cuenta con seis pruebas durante el calendario de 2016 y la segunda recalará en la zona. Bermuda, Portsmouth, Cascais o Malta, son el resto de destinos de competición para esta temporada.
International sailing venue • This year Sotogrande is hosting the J80 World Sailing Championship and an event on the prestigious RC44 International Tour, the so-called “Formula 1 of the sailing world” The sailing world will have its eyes fixed on Sotogrande in 2016. Two great international competitions, that will take place at the beginning of summer, will transform the area into the primary focus of the sailing world. This is a great sporting commitment that brings together the traditional championships that are held each year in Sotogrande’s waters. The area is an ideal setting for this sport that takes massive steps forward each year as a great venue for high-level competitions. The first of the great internation-
al events will take place between 10 and 15 May, with the second event of the RC44 International Sailing Tour; one of the most stunning vessels that compete in the sailing world and extremely fast. That is why RC44 vessels are sometimes known as the “Formula 1 of the sailing world”. It is the second time that this competition has chosen Sotogrande as one of the settings. In 2014, Sotogrande made its debut as a regatta venue for these super-vessels. The International Tour has six events during the 2016 schedule and the second
will take place in the area. Bermuda, Portsmouth, Cascais and Malta, are the other competition destinations for this season. High-level competition in May
continues on 28 and 29 with the J80 Andalusian Sailing Cup. While last year this discipline, which has become one of the most predominant and most well-known over the last five years, held the Spanish Championship in this area; this year, it will be the setting for the Andalusian championship and the World Championship. Of course, there are annual events based around the Marina that will keep running such as the J80 Circuit and the Interclub Cruisers of the Gibraltar Strait. However, if there is a competition with special charm and its own essence, it is the traditional Sotogrande Regatta held every year during the August bank holiday. It is a highly esteemed event for residents in the area and each edition attracts more competitors from outside of the Resort.

El Torneo Internacional que celebra cada verano Santa María Polo Club, y que este año celebrará su edición 45, está de enhorabuena con el nombramiento por parte de la World Polo Tour, organización de referencia en este deporte que otorga los puntos de ránking que premian cada competición. La última actualización de esta asociación, cara a la temporada 2016, hace que la Copa de Oro de Sotogrande cuenta para esta edición con 150 puntos lo que la convierte en la tercera competición más importante de este deporte a nivel internacional. Crece en 25 puntos respecto al pasado año y hace aún más atractiva a nivel de competición para los mejores jugadores y equipos del planeta. La compra no afecta al Real Club Valderrama, a su campo ni a sus socios
La Zagaleta aterriza en Sotogrande • El Grupo La Zagaleta ha adquirido el proyecto para el desarrollo del segundo campo de Valderrama por cuarenta millones de euros. El plan, con doscientos millones de euros de inversión previstos en diez años, no afectará al Real Club Valderrama, que posee un contrato de arrendamiento del campo y las instalaciones hasta el año 2050. ✑ Mayte Solán
ZagaletaLimited, sociedad inglesa del holding del Grupo La Zagaleta con sede en Londres y propietaria de la famosa urbanización localizada en Benahavís con su mismo nombre, ha adquirido el futuro proyecto, al que denomina Valderrama II, ubicado en el término municipal de Castellar de la Frontera. La compra incluye, además, algunas parcelas en la urbanización de Soto Alto y la finca donde se ubica el prestigioso campo de Valderrama. La noticia, que vio la luz a comienzo de año, ha despertado gran interés en la zona, donde son muchos los que se preguntan cómo afectará esta inversión al Real Club Valderrama, a
su campo y a sus socios. Javier Reviriego, director general del Club aclara a El Periódico de Sotogrande que el Real Club Valderrama es una entidad deportiva independiente, sin ánimo de lucro, propiedad de sus 450 socios, y que posee un contrato de arrendamiento con Valderrama SA (propietaria de la finca sobre la que asienta el campo de golf) para el uso y gestión de las instalaciones hasta el año 2050 y que, además, el RCV posee un derecho de adquisición preferente que ejercerá en su momento. Consecuentemente, los planes del club a corto, medio y largo plazo no varían con la entrada del nuevo grupo inversor.
“Aunque entendemos que todo lo relacionado con Valderrama suele tener gran repercusión en los medios, para nosotros, en todo lo que se refiere a la gestión del Club, a la admisión de socios, y a nuestras decisiones estratégicas, no tiene gran relevancia quien sea el propietario de la sociedad patrimonial”, argumenta Reviriego. Según su director general, El Real Club Valderrama se encuentra en una situación de gran solvencia financiera gracias a su gestión autónoma y esto les ha permitido acometer importantes mejoras en el campo que han aumentado su

La Zagaleta arrives in Sotogrande • Grupo La Zagaleta have acquired the project to develop the second Valderrama course for 40 million euros. The plan, involving 200 million euros of investment in ten years, will not affect Real Club Valderrama, holder of a lease agreement for the course and facilities until 2050.
ZagaletaLimited, an English company, a holding company of Grupo La Zagaleta based in London and owner of the famous resort in Benahavís of the same name, has acquired the future project, that it names Valderrama II, located in the municipality of Castellar de la Frontera. The purchase also includes some plots of land in the SotoAlto resort and the estate where the prestigious Valderrama course sits. The news, which emerged at the start of the year, have been the source of much interest in the area, with many people wondering how the investment will affect Real Club Valderrama, its course and members. Javier Reviriego, General Manager of the Club has informed
El Periódico de Sotogrande that Real Club Valderrama is a non-profit, independent sporting body, owned by its 450 members, and that it holds a lease contract with Valderrama SA (owner of the estate that is home to the golf course) for the use and management of the facilities until 2050 and that RCV also has the right of preferential acquisition of the course which will be exercised at the right moment. Consequently, the club’s plans in the short, medium and long term will not change with the arrival of the new investment group. “We understand that everything linked to Valderrama usually has a big impact in the media, but for us, in terms of club management, the admission of new members, and our strategic de-
cisions, it is not very relevant who owns the holding company”, argues Reviriego. According to its general manager, Real Club Valderrama is currently in great financial health and stability thanks to its independent management and this has allowed them to make significant improvements to the course that have increased its prestige and international reputation. Su much so, that admission for new members is currently locked and there is a substantial waiting list.

Sotogrande afronta el año del crecimiento turístico • La progresión de este sector en la zona en los dos últimos años, especialmente en 2015, y las propuestas para desestacionalizar el turismo tradicional, grandes claves para este ejercicio La actividad turística durante el ejercicio 2015 fue muy positiva para el sector y alcanzó un palpable crecimiento tangible en el volumen de ocupación y visitantes en todo el territorio; algo que se pudo constatar también en Sotogrande y todo el área del Valle del Guadiaro. Unas cifras que con el leve repunte de los últimos periodos vacaciones dibujan un escenario en este año 2016 idóneo para el umbral del crecimiento para los sectores vinculados al turismo y servicios. Los diferentes planes para el desarrollo de complejos hoteleros en la zona, con proyectos como el de Santa María Polo Club [aprobado la pasada primavera y en fase de estudio] o el más reciente con la llegada del grupo La Zagaleta y su desembarco en Sotogrande, contemplan un incremento a medio plazo en el volumen de oferta tu-
El Turismo aporta en estos momentos uno de cada siete nuevos empleos rística y de habitaciones, necesario para el crecimiento de Sotogrande como destino turístico además de residencial. En este sentido, la proyección de diferentes propuestas, eventos y actividades orientadas al ocio, deporte y relax puestas en marchas por las distintas entidades y promotoras de contenidos en la zona para desestacionalizar el turismo tradicional veraniego y mantener el flujo de visitantes durante todo el calendario, convierten estos 12 meses en claves para el crecimiento turístico en Sotogrande. A niveles generales, los datos del pasado constaron que este sector lideró el crecimiento y la generación de empelo en la economía nacional, con una subida del 3,7%, alcanzando los niveles máximos en los últimos 15 años. Según el estudio de Exeltur, una de las asociaciones de mayor prestigio a nivel turístico, el crecimiento del turismo el pasado año alcanzó los 124.000 millones de euros, aportando medio punto al PIB na-
cional, llegando a generar uno de cada siete nuevos puestos de trabajo registrados. En cuanto al área de Sotogrande y el resto del Valle del Guadiaro, en el periodo más fuerte de la temporada estival, concentrado principalmente en el mes de agosto, la ocupación media rondó el 85%, siendo un factor importante en la zona el arrendamiento de viviendas, ya que de manera tradicional las estancias suelen ser prolongadas. En este sentido, el nivel de alquileres rozó el 90% de los inmuebles disponible, lo que supone una cota muy alta de ocupación durante los meses de mayor demanda turística. Aunque este no es el único potencial de Sotogrande. Durante

Este fenómeno se da en zonas más rurales y algo más alejadas de la costa, en la que diferentes fincas reciben organizaciones relacionadas con el mundo del caballo
(polo, hípica,…). Precisamente, se encuentra en marcha el proyecto de convertir el Valle del Guadiaro en un Distrito Equino, de carácter internacional, en el que estas organizaciones asienten su presencia en la Europa continental.
Los datos de ocupación y visitantes logran las mejores cifras de los últimos años Si bien la red hotelera actual en Sotogrande no cuenta con un alto volumen en cuanto a la oferta de camas, los proyectos que a medio plazo verán la luz: el puesto en marcha por Santa María Polo Club que contará con un hotel de lujo y el publicado más recientemente, un complejo de similares características que dibuja el Grupo Zagaleta desde su llegada a Sotogrande con la compra de Valderrama, perfilan un horizonte de crecimiento y desarrollo a gran escala del sector hotelero. Todo ello, bajo un perfil de lujo y con los más altos estándares de calidad. Un clima y una serie de factores muy favorables para creer en un crecimiento palpable del sector turístico y de servicios, muy ligado en esta área, cara al año 2016.

Tourism activity during the 2015 financial year was very positive for the sector and reached palpable tangible growth in terms of occupancy levels and visitors throughout the country; something that was evident also in Sotogrande and the entire Valle del Guadiaro area. These figures along with a slight upturn compared to the last few holiday periods point to a scenario in 2016 that looks ideal for the growth of sectors linked to tourism and services. Ayer y hoy de nuestro colegio
Durante el curso 2015/2016 iniciamos el proyecto “Ayer y hoy de nuestro colegio”. El Claustro pone en marcha este proyecto con la intención de involucrar al alumnado en la investigación a través de las TIC y con las aportaciones de sus familias en la búsqueda de información de la historia del colegio. Con todo ello se organizará una exposición. Se acuerda realizar las siguientes actividades: ➢ Solicitar a los familiares de los alumnos/as del colegio que pinten en nuestro patio, una serie de juegos tradicionales tales como la rayuela, el tres en raya. ➢ Charla de un maestro/a jubilado o antiguos maestros/as y que aporten material suyo para exponer. ➢ Charla de algún abuelo/a sobre
cómo era el colegio antes, cuando eran alumnos/as. ➢ Pedir a los padres/madres que escriban una carta dedicada a su maestro/a favorito de la infancia y a nuestro alumnado sobre sus
maestros/as ➢ Pedir fotos y material (boletines de notas, diplomas, cuadernos, juguetes para practicar juegos de su infancia: peonza, elástico, comba…) a los padres/
madres y abuelos/as relacionadas con el colegio. Aportar pruebas escritas, fotografías, evidencias, boletines de calificaciones, anécdotas, fotografías, folletos de las actividades que se realiza-
ban en la época. Cada tutor/a se hace cargo del material aportado y lo fotografía o escanea para devolverlo a los dueños (si nos permiten conservarlo un tiempo para la exposición). ➢ El alumnado imagina y redacta o dibuja cómo es su colegio en la actualidad y cómo será cuando pasen 45 años. Seleccionaremos un texto /dibujo de cada ciclo para apreciar el punto de vista de cada edad y el paso del tiempo desde sus inicios en 1970, en la actualidad 2015 y en un futuro 2060. ➢ Se integrará en la programación según corresponda: Lengua: leer los boletines Ciencias sociales: comparar tiempos Competencia digital: escanear o hacer el montaje con un programa de las fotos
The past and the present at our school During the 2015/2016 we started the project “The past and the present at our school”. The teachers began this project with the aim of involving pupils in research using ICT and with the contributions of their family members in order to search for information from the school’s history. All of the information will be used to organise an exhibition. The following activities were agreed upon: ➢ Ask family members of pupils at the school to come and paint a series of traditional games on our playground such as hopscotch, and tic tac toe. ➢ Talk from a retired teacher or former teachers and get them

Incentivos para fomentar la contratación indefinida El año pasado se aprobó el Real Decreto-Ley 1/2015, de mecanismo de segunda oportunidad, reducción de carga financiera y otras medidas de orden social que recogía, entre otras, medidas relativas al fomento del empleo indefinido, estableciéndose un nuevo incentivo para la creación de empleo estable, consistente en la fijación de un mínimo exento en la cotización empresarial por contingencias comunes a la Seguridad Social por la contratación indefinida de trabajadores. Esta reducción/bonificación de cotizaciones se hace sobre los contratos por tiempo indefinido, ya sean a tiempo completo o parcial, y estará vigente para los contratos celebrados hasta el 31 de agosto de 2016. Al amparo de esta nueva regulación, los primeros 500 euros de la base mensual correspon-
diente a contingencias comunes quedarán exentos de cotización empresarial cuando el contrato se celebre a tiempo completo y, cuando el contrato se celebre a tiempo parcial, dicha cuantía se reducirá en proporción al porcentaje en que disminuya la jornada de trabajo, que no podrá ser inferior al 50 por 100 de la jornada de un trabajador a tiempo completo. Este beneficio en la cotización consistirá en una bonificación a cargo del Servicio Público de Empleo Estatal, en caso de que el contrato indefinido se formalice con jóvenes inscritos en el Sistema Nacional de Garantía Juvenil, y en una reducción a cargo del sistema de la Seguridad Social, en los demás supuestos. Respecto a los requisitos a cumplir por la empresa para disfrutar del beneficio en la cotización, serán hallarse al co-
rriente en el cumplimiento de sus obligaciones tributarias y de Seguridad Social; no haber extinguido contratos mediante despidos declarados judicialmente como improcedentes en los seis meses anteriores a la celebración de los contratos que dan derecho al beneficio previsto; no haber sido excluidas del acceso a los beneficios de programas de empleo por la comisión de determinadas infracciones graves o muy graves del texto refundido de la Ley sobre infracciones y sanciones en el orden social; celebrar contratos indefinidos que supongan un incremento tanto del nivel de empleo indefinido como del nivel de empleo total de la empresa; y mantener durante un periodo de 36 meses, a contar desde la fecha de efectos del contrato indefinido con aplicación de la reducción,
tanto el nivel de empleo indefinido como el nivel de empleo total alcanzado, al menos, con dicha contratación. Una vez concedido este beneficio se examinará el mantenimiento del nivel de empleo indefinido y del nivel de empleo total de la empresa cada doce meses. La bonificación o reducción se aplicará durante un período de 24 meses. En el caso de empresas con menos de diez trabajadores, la medida se prolongará durante 12 meses más, quedando exentos durante este último período de la aplicación del tipo de cotización los primeros 250 euros de la base de cotización o la cuantía que proporcionalmente corresponda en los supuestos de contratación a tiempo parcial. La aplicación de la bonificación o reducción a que se refiere este artículo no afectará a la

Incentives to increase indefinite hiring Last year the Royal Decree-Law 1/2015 was passed, as a second-chance mechanism, aimed at reducing the financial burden. It also involved other social order measures, including those relating to indefinite employment, and established a new incentive to create stable employment. This consists of setting a minimum exemption from employer contributions for common contingencies to Social Security for the indefinite hiring of employers. This reduction/discount on contributions is applied to contracts of an indefinite length, either full-time or part-time, and it will be valid for all contracts that are created until 31 August 2016. Under this new regulation,
the first 500 euros of the basic monthly salary corresponding to common contingencies will be exempt from employer contributions when the contract is full-time and, when the contract is part-time, that amount will be reduced in proportion to the percentage that the working day is reduced by, and can be no less than 50 percent of the day of a full-time worker. This benefit for contributions will consist of a discount from the Public State Employment Service, in cases where the indefinite contract is made with young people registered in the National System of Guarantees for Young People, and a reduction from the Social Security system, in other cases.
In terms of the requirements that must be met by companies in order to enjoy the contribution benefits, they must be up to date in terms of tax and social security obligations; they should not have terminated contracts through dismissals that have been declared to be improper during the six months prior to creating the contracts that offer entitlement to the abovementioned benefit; they must not have been excluded from accessing the benefits of employment programs having committed serious or very serious crimes from the consolidated text of the Law on infractions and sanctions to social order; companies must create contracts that constitute an increase to the level of inde-
finite employment as well as the overall employment level of the company; and maintain for a period of 36 months -starting on the effective date of the indefinite contract with application of the reduction- the level of indefinite employment as well as the total level of employment reached, at least, with said hiring. Once this benefit has been granted, the maintenance of the level of indefinite employment and of the overall level of the company’s employment will be examined every twelve months. The allowance or reduction will be applied for a period of 24 months. In the case of companies with fewer than ten workers, the measure will be prolonged for a further 12 months, and during
this last period the first 250 euros of the contribution base or the amount that corresponds proportionally in the cases of part-time hiring will be exempt from the application of the contribution rate.The application of the allowance or reduction referred to in this article will not affect the determination of the amount of financial allowances that affected workers may be entitled to, and this will be calculated applying the full amount of the contribution base that applies to them. La Iglesia “Nuestra Señora de la Merced” de Sotogrande, como es habitual, acogió el Concierto de Reyes, organizado por la Asociación Cultural de Sotogrande, con un lleno absoluto de público. Una Iglesia abarrotada que disfrutó con la actuación del prestigioso violinista, compositor y director de orquesta Michael Thomas. Thomas interpretó como solis-
ta, para regocijo de los allí presentes, la obra más célebre del compositor veneciano Antonio Vivaldi y obra cumbre entre la música barroca: las Cuatro Estaciones. Pero el prestigioso violinista no estuvo sólo, le acompaño el Baroque Soloists Esemble una agrupación formada por jóvenes músicos de prestigio internacional. También se pudo disfrutar de la actuación de la agrupación
coral Camerata de Sotogrande, la cual interpretó obras de Mozart, Bach, Haendel y Vivaldi. La cita musical tuvo el patrocinio de Hassans y de Parques de Sotogrande, y la colaboración de otras empresas. La entrada era gratuita, agradeciéndose por parte de los organizadores las donaciones que llegaron por los muchos que se dieron cita en la parroquia.

The packed Church enjoyed the performance of the prestigious violinist, composer and orchestra director Michael Thomas. To the delight of those present,
Thomas played a solo performance of the most famous work of the Venetian composer Antonio Vivaldi and the crowning glory of Baroque music: the Four Seasons. However the prestigious violinist was not alone, he was accompanied by the Baroque Soloists Ensemble, a group formed by young musicians of international prestige. La golfista de SIGA Sotogrande, María Parra, revalidó en Villa Padierna el triunfo que ya consiguió el año pasado en la Copa Andalucía Femenina de Golf, y que marcó el principio de una excelente temporada 2015, que incluyó el triunfo en el Campeonato de Europa Individual y culminó como número 2 del Ranking Amateur Europeo. En una competición que ha estado marcada por el fuerte viento, la guadiareña volvió a brillar con luz propia. En la jornada decisiva, María Parra firmó una vuelta de 76 golpes,
para un total de 229 (+10), finalizando con un golpe de ventaja sobre la catalana Paz Marfá, primera líder de la competición que, finalmente, ocupó el segundo puesto. Empatadas en el tercer puesto terminaron tres jugadoras que desde el primer día de competición dieron muestra de un excelente nivel de juego: la malagueña federada por La Siesta, Sara Navarro, la madrileña Clara Moyano y Natalia Aseguinolaza. La prueba -puntuable para los Rankings Nacionales Femeninos Absoluto, Sub 18 y Cadete
y para el Ranking Mundial- inauguró el calendario de competiciones 2016 y se disputó a 54 hoyos en la modalidad de juego por golpes (Stroke Play) en tres jornadas consecutivas, 18 hoyos. De esta forma, María Parra comienza el 2016 del mismo modo en que acabó el pasado año, con un gran nivel de juego y en plena lucha por el triunfo de competiciones.

María Parra, exultante tras su triunfo María Parra afronta una temporada transcendental en su trayectoria, en la que aspira a convertirse en profesional. Es su gran objetivo en 2016, con apenas 18 años y un hándicap que deja sin aliento: +5. Está claro que no es un año más y no podía empezar mejor. Levantar por segunda temporada consecutiva el trofeo de campeona de la Copa de Andalucía en el recorrido Alferini, Villa Padierna. “Estuvo muy reñido hasta el final y se jugó en unas condiciones muy duras de viento y, por momentos, lluvia. Diría que ha sido el campo más duro que he jugado en toda mi vida”, aseguró Parra. María fue de menos a más durante las tres jornadas del torneo. Supo mantener la calma cuando el juego no terminaba de fluir y acertó a apretar el acelerador justo en el instante que más falta hacía. “No he jugado muy bien ningún día, pero sí he sabido mantener la calma, consciente de que todas íbamos a fallar golpes en unas condiciones tan difíciles, y sabiendo bien a lo que jugaba. Empecé tercera o cuarta, el segundo día empaté en cabeza y el tercer día pude ganar con un final muy bueno. Metí la garra...”, afirmó. El objetivo de Parra en 2016 es jugar las escuelas del LPGA Tour y del Ladies European Tour y hacerse pro si consigue la tarjeta en alguna de las dos. “Quiero aprovechar al máximo el año. Tengo dos invitaciones del Ladies European Tour por ser campeona de Europa y voy a jugar el British y el Evian Masters. Quiero coger toda la experiencia que pueda en esos dos majors y, por supuesto, tratar de ganar todo lo que juegue. Quiero hacerme pro ya para aprovechar el buen momento de juego, que ya sabemos cómo es el golf”, dijo.

That is her big aim in 2016 aged barely 18 and with a handicap that leaves people breathless: +5. It is clear that this is not just any other year and she could not have made a better start. For the second consecutive season she lifted the champion’s trophy for the Andalusian Cup at the Alferini Villa Padierna course. “It was very closely fought until the end and was played in very tough and windy conditions, and at time, rain. I would say that it was the toughest course I have ever played on”, stated Parra. María improved over the three days of the tournament. She was able to keep calm when her game was not flowing and she was able to put the foot on the accelerator when it was most needed. “I did not play very well on any of the days, but I was able to keep calm, aware that everyone was going to miss shots in such difficult conditions and knowing well what was at stake. I started third or fourth, on the second day I was tied first and on the third day I was able to win with a very good finish. I showed character…” she stated. Parra’s aim in 2016 is to play in the LPGA Tour schools and on the Ladies European Tour and become pro if she obtains the card in any of the two. “I want to make the most of the year. I have two invitations on the Ladies European Tour as a result of being champion in Europe and I am going to play in the British and Evian Masters. I want to get all of the experience that I can in those two majors, and of course, try to win everything I play in. I want to turn pro already to make the most of my good run of play, we know what golf is like”, she said.

Mario Galiano terminó la temporada pasada con una gran duda respecto a su futuro: “me paso a profesionales o sigo como amateur un año más”. El joven golfista tesorillero lo puso todo en la balanza, analizó pros y contras, intercambió opiniones con su equipo de de trabajo, la Federación Española y la Andaluza y, finalmente, decidió mantener un año más su condición amateur. El jugador de La Cañada explica los motivos que le empujaron a tomar esta determinación, de la que espera competir, seguir creciendo como jugador y así poder llegar aún más preparado para dar el salto al profesionalismo. “Al no haber conseguido tarjeta del European Tour o del Challenge no iba a tener muchas opciones de jugar torneos. Iba a depender de invitaciones y nunca sabes cuántas vas a poder tener, así que he preferido seguir como amateur, competir y acumular experiencia para, ya seguro, pasarme a profesional a finales de
este año”, aseguró Mario Galiano. De este modo, Galiano explicó que su calendario en 2016 estará compuesto por los torneos amateurs más importantes, algunas pruebas del Challenge Tour, el Alps Tour y el Gecko Tour, todo
encaminado a llegar lo mejor preparado posible a la Escuela del European Tour. “Creo que podré jugar alrededor de cinco torneos del Challenge, varios del Alps, ahora empezaré con un par de Gecko (Guadalhorce y Parador y Río Real y Atalaya) y después, en cuando al calendario amateur jugaré algún pun-
tuable nacional, los Internacionales, el Europeo, el Mundial y los grandes”, afirmó. En cuanto a objetivos, la temporada del prometedor golfista de La Cañada, que este año cumplirá 21 años, se divide en dos: “en la parte profesional la idea es sacar la tarjeta del European Tour o del Challenge y en la amateur no renuncio a nada. Mi ambición es acabar entre los tres primeros del mundo cuando acabe el año, sé que es difícil sin jugar en Estados Unidos, pero ya lo he logrado en alguna ocasión. Además, por supuesto, voy a ir a por todas en el US Amateur, British Amateur, Europeo y Mundial, las grandes citas de la temporada”, asegura convencido. “Me encuentro mucho mejor que el año pasado, he trabajado mucho y confío en que dé sus frutos en 2016. El gran objetivo respecto al juego en esta temporada es consolidar el juego largo, ser más consistente desde el tee”, subrayó.

La élite española de la Doma se da cita en Dos Lunas Las extraordinarias instalaciones de Dos Lunas Polo & Dressage acogen un Clinic de la Real Federación Hípica Española con los mejores jinetes del panorama ✑ M. Gil
Las instalaciones de Dos Luna Polo & Dressage acogen del 18 al 21 de enero la primera cita del Programa Élites Doma 2016 (en el primer tramo para adultos y en la segunda parte para las categorías inferiores). Un Clinic promovido por la Real Federación Hípica Española, dentro de su planificación anual, en el que se citan los mayores exponentes de la Doma Nacional. Este tipo de eventos se programan durante todo el curso en diferentes puntos de la geografía nacional, siendo la Finca Dos Lunas, en Sotogrande, el enclave idóneo escogido por la Federación en Andalucía. Durante estos días, más de medio centenar de binomios de la más alta compe-
tición nacional e internacional, se ejercitan en las imponentes instalaciones de Dos Lunas. Una cita que sin duda coloca a Sotogrande, con letras mayúsculas, en el escenario de la Doma de primer nivel. La concentración cuenta con la presencia de los técnicos de la Real Federación Española de Hípica: Nicky Barrett, Rafael Soto y Luis Lucio, una terna referencia en la preparación de grandes jinetes y amazonas con gran relevancia. También, un conocido de esta zona, el olímpico sevillano Juan Manuel Muñoz se ha dejado ver durante la concentración. En las dos primeras jornadas del evento, los protagonistas fueron los adultos, muchos de ellos
llamados a ser importantes en las grandes citas del calendario internacional de 2016. Tras dos intensos días de clínic, el turno será para los más pequeños del programa que toman el relevo en las dos jornadas finales. La actividad no merma en Dos Lunas en cuando a la Doma se refiere. El sábado 23 de enero se lleva a cabo el X Concurso Social de Doma Clásica, una competición que volverá a reunir más de medio centenar de binomios en busca de los premios y del atractivo de la cita.

The elite of dressage in Spain gather at Dos Lunas The extraordinary facilities at Dos Lunas Polo & Dressage host a clinic with the Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation including the best current riders From 18 to 21 January the facilities at Dos Lunas Polo & Dressage will hold the first event of the 2016 Elite Dressage Program (firstly for adults and then for younger age groups). The clinic is promoted by the Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation, as part of its annual plan that brings together the leading National Dressage figures. These types of events are scheduled right throughout the year in different areas of Spain, and La Finca Dos Lunas in Sotogrande is the ideal place chosen by the Federation in Andalusia. Over the course of these few days, more than fifty
riders who compete at the top level in Spain and internationally will train at the impressive Dos Lunas facilities. This is an event that undoubtedly grants Sotogrande a privileged place on the top level Dressage scene. The event will be attended by experts from the Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation: Nicky Barrett, Rafael Soto and Luis Lucio, a longstanding benchmark in the preparation of great riders and horsewomen. Also, a well-known face in the area, the Olympic athlete from Seville, Juan Manuel Muñoz made an appearance at the
gathering. In the first two days of the event, the adults took centre stage, many of whom are expected to play an important role in the major events of the 2016 calendar. La prestigiosa revista (más conocida por su frecuentado portal digital) Digest Golf elaboró nuevamente un ránking con los mejores campos de golf de España, así como un escalafón internacional, a través de las opiniones y sondeos ejecutados por profesionales del sector. De nuevo, el mítico Real Club Valderrama, se encuentra en lo más alto de la lista y es considerado, por otro clasificación más, como el mejor trazado nacional. Sotogrande está de enhorabuena por partida triple, ya que además de Valderrama, el Real Club de Golf Sotogrande y La Reserva de Sotogrande se posicionan dentro del ‘Top Ten’ de este portal, uno de los más frecuentados y de mayor influencia para profesionales y amantes del golf. Esta clasificación se establece en base a las opiniones y valoraciones de un selecto plantel

Espectacular estreno de año de la flota de monotipos J/80 en la cuarta entrega del V Circuito Grupo Trocadero de Sotogrande, resuelta con seis pruebas marcadas por vientos de 15 nudos de intensidad mínima y 21 de máxima. Tras este nuevo asalto del circuito, la clasificación se comprime aún más con varios barcos al quite del mínimo tropiezo del líder provisional, el equipo del ‘Marbella Team’ de Juan Luis Páez y Pepequín Orbaneja, que logró darle la vuelta a la clasificación provisional del fin de semana con tres tantos el domingo que le permitieron despertar del mal sueño que les relegó a la séptima plaza tras la jornada inaugural, en la que encadenaban una bandera negra, un 4º y un 3º. Ingredientes para 4 personas: 1 Kg. de chocos limpios ½ Kg. de habas frescas desgranadas 1 pimiento troceado 1 tomate troceado 3 dientes de ajo picados 1 dl de aceite de oliva 1 dl de vino blanco seco 1 hoja de laurel sal
Trocear los chocos en pedazos menudos. Calentar el aceite en una cazuela y rehogar los chocos con la cebolla, el pimiento, el tomate y los ajos. Incorporar las habas, la hoja de laurel, el vino blanco y cubrir con agua. Cocer a fuego lento hasta que esté tierno.
