Dar pábulo y espacio a tribulaciones y especulaciones es, sin lugar a dudas, una práctica de dudosa profesionalidad en el periodista. Con todo aquello de consultar las cuatro fuentes, no revelarlas nunca, pero sí dar veracidad y responder a las preguntas más importantes del tema durante la entradilla. En la última semana, no sólo el cada vez más extenso rumor de la venta de Sotogrande S.A. a un fondo con grandes ideas y pretensiones procedente de Oriente, toma forma. Hace sólo unos días también salió a la luz la posibilidad de que Millenium (propietaria de La Hacienda Golf y del proyecto que en pocas semanas se inaugurará en forma de hotel cinco estrellas de Fairmont) también estuviera oteando el mercado con gran interés para captar un comprador fiable.

En ninguno de los casos se tiene una constatación de que ambas premisas lleguen a convertirse en realidad, pero sí reafirma, el gran interés, desarrollo y enorme potencial de inversión a futuro que tiene todo el entorno. No sólo lo vemos en el primitivo Sotogrande, desde hace unos años se observa este gran crecimiento en los circundantes proyectos de La Hacienda o San Roque Club, con el desembarco Golf Estates en el Old Course y Berwick, más recientemente, en el New. Caso similar, pero subiendo varios peldaños en cifras y pretensiones, lo encontramos en Majarambuz y ese proyecto en el que La Zagaleta trabaja desde hace años por complejo de altísimo nivel en la extensión de Sotogrande hacia el norte. O ver cómo serán los planes para la zona de Los Pinos tras desprenderse de dichos terrenos la Familia Mora-Figueroa. Lo cierto es que aún quedan muchos espacios y proyectos en el horizonte. Cambios de propiedad o no, la zona sigue al alza y en valor por un largo periplo futuro.

Over the last week, not only the increasingly widespread rumour of the sale of Sotogrande S.A. to a fund with major ideas and aims from the Middle East has taken shape. A few days ago, it also emerged that there is the possibility that Millenium (the owner of La Hacienda Golf and of the project that in a few weeks will open in the form of a five star Fairmont hotel) is also scanning the market with great interest to attract a reliable buyer.
In none of the cases is there confirmation that both premises could become a reality, but they do reaffirm the great interest, development and enormous future investment potential of the entire area.
We don’t only see it in the early Sotogrande, for years now, major growth has been observed in the neighbouring projects of La Hacienda and San Roque Club, with the arrival of Golf Estates at the Old Course and Berwick, most recently at the New. Something similar but climbing several levels in terms of figures and pretensions, can be found at Majarambuz and the project that La Zagaleta has been working on for years for an extremely high-end resort in Sotogrande towards the north. Or seeing what the plans will be for the Los Pinos area after the Mora-Figueroa family sold the land. The fact is that there are still many spaces and projects on the horizon. Changes of ownership or not, the area remains on the up and valuable for a long future trajectory.

Un año para convertir objetivos en éxitos
A year to turn objectives into successes
Cuando va orillando el año, el calendario y ejercicio económico, en la inmensa mayoría de las empresas, igual que en otras entidades (otro gallo cantaría si esto se trasladase a las administraciones), toca hacer balance y evaluación de lo acontecido. No con la finalidad de vanagloriarse o darse un baño de éxito, nada más lejos de la realidad, sino para tratar de descubrir y definir las amenazas y nuevos retos de cara al siguiente curso. Marcas los objetivos de la próxima vuelta al sol. En Sotogrande, como destino, estamos en predisposición de hacer lo mismo o al menos, deberíamos cruzar ese examen de conciencia para tratar de encontrar las vías para consolidar, mejorar y crecer en todos los aspectos. Iniciar el año con la constitución definitiva de la Entidad Urbanística de Conservación en la Marina de Sotogrande (se emplaza hasta después de las fiesta una nueva fecha), es un máximo a cumplir. Tratar de solventar una cuestión que desde hace años viene demorándose en demasía y que por fin alcanzar la meta. Eso sí, los derechos también van ligados a las responsabilidades. Será un deber y una obligación mantener los estándares de calidad precisos en mantenimiento, jardinería, seguridad y todos esos detalles que lo convierten en uno de los complejos residenciales más selectos del sur de Europa.
La sequía del inicio de 2024 dejó claro la necesidad de crear un plan hidrológico y de recursos para agua terciaria de nivel en Sotogrande (el algunos de sus sectores, otros ya lo tienen y funcionan con gran éxito). El agua será el gran ítem de valor incalculable y un gran reto para los mejores destinos del mundo. Anticiparnos, coordinar con administraciones públicas y lanzar iniciativas privadas, será el gran valor diferencial de Sotogrande con otros destinos en los que es un bien aún más escaso.
El ritmo del sector inmobiliario sigue en pujanza, con cada vez un perfil más alto y con mayor calidad en propiedades, servicios y nivel. Un tren al que subirse todo el tejido empresarial del entorno para lograr alcanzar una clase media de servicios más alta que cualquier amenaza. Contar con exponentes internacionales de grandes eventos, la consolidación de uno o más centros educativos de primer nivel o mejorar conexiones, carreteras, accesos y algunos aspectos de la imagen de la urbanización sigue siendo una asignatura pendiente. Como lo es, por desgracia, que un otoño más el Foro Empresarial Sotogrande no consolide un ente que aglutine y reúna a todos los empresarios para hacer fuerza.
Los retos son muchos para 2025 pero también las satisfacciones no han sido, precisamente, pocas en este 2024. También miremos lo positivo de la cosecha y genial añada. Un curso de buenos números, en general, con alta actividad y buen rendimiento. Incluso, en lo personal, hace sólo unos días que la pequeña Inés llegó a este mundo para mejorar la vida de este periodista y quiénes le rodean. La felicidad de estrenar paternidad cual regalo navideño. No engaño si digo que tiene la cara más bonita que haya descrito. Salud y felicidad para ella y para todos vosotros en estas fechas tan especiales. Muchas gracias por seguir confiando en la información de calidad y un medio de estilo. ¡Ahí va mi brindis!
When the year, the calendar and the financial year are coming to an end, in the vast majority of companies, as in other entities (it would be a different story if I were talking about administrations), it is time to have an assessment and evaluate what has happened. Not for the purpose of boasting or bathing in one’s success, nothing could be further from the truth, but rather to discover and define the threats and new challenges ahead of the next year. You set the targets for the next orbit around the sun.
In Sotogrande, as a destination, we are predisposed to do the same thing, or at least, we should go through this soul-searching in order to try to find the ways to consolidate, improve and grow across all aspects.
Beginning the year with the establishment of the Urban Conservation Entity in Sotogrande Marina (a new date has been scheduled for after the festive period), is a high to fulfil. Trying to resolve a matter that has been delayed too much for years and which is finally reaching the finishing line. Having said that, rights are also linked to responsibilities. It will be a duty and an obligation to maintain the required standards of quality for maintenance, landscaping, security, and all the details that make it one of the most select residential resorts in southern Europe.
The drought at the start of 2024 made it clear that there is a need to create a hydrological and resources plan for tertiary water in Sotogrande (in some of its sectors, others already have it and are operating very successfully). Water will be the great item of priceless value and a major challenge for the world’s best destinations. We have to plan in advance, have coordination with public administrations and launch private initiatives, it will be the great differential value of Sotogrande with other destinations where it is an even scarcer asset.
The pace of the property sector remains strong, with an increasingly high profile and greater quality in terms of properties, services and living standard. A train for the entire business community to get on board in order to manage to attain an average class of services that is higher than any threat.
Having international exponents for major events, the consolidation of one or more first-rate schools and improving connections, roads, entrances, and some aspects of the image of the resort remains an outstanding issue. As too, unfortunately, is the fact that for another autumn, the Sotogrande Business Forum has not consolidated a body that encompasses and brings together all the business people to create strength.
There are many challenges for 2025 but there have also been a quite a few sources of satisfaction in 2024. We should also look at the positive side of the yield and fantastic year. A year of good numbers, in general, with a high level of activity and a good performance. Even on a personal level, just a few days ago little Inés came into this world to improve the life of this journalist and those around him. The happiness of being a new father, what a Christmas gift. I am not wrong if I say that she has the most beautiful face that has ever been described.

Publicaciones en prensa especializada señalan como la propiedad sondea alternativas para la posibilidad de vender no de sus proyectos más ambiciosos por un precio cercano a los 200 millones de euros.
Todos los indicios apuntan a que finales de febrero podría abrir sus puertas el nuevo Fairmont cinco estrellas en La Hacienda, uno de los proyectos más importantes de la última década en el entorno de Sotogrande. Justo con esta cuenta atrás, aparece en prensa especializada, una información que señala que Millenium Hospitality, socimi propietaria del resort, habría puesto a la venta todo el complejo por un precio de 200 millones de euros.
Según apuntan publicaciones de relevancia como El Confidencial, con una relevante notoriedad en la capital (dónde opera la socimi), detalla que la propiedad estaría “pisando el acelerador” para tratar de vender uno de los proyectos más exclusivos que gestiona, completamente el
resort de Fairmont La Hacienda, con todo lo que ello supone.
Rememorar que el proyecto de Millenium en la zona abarca este hotel de cinco estrellas que se encuentra a sólo unas semanas de su estreno (con 136 habitaciones y 51 ‘branded residen-
ces’; además del Club de Golf La Hacienda, con sus dos recorridos: Links y Heathland.
Según algunas de estas informaciones, la propiedad habría encargado a la prestigiosa Savills el sondeo de mercado para la venta de todo el resort, un proceso
que ya podría encontrarse en su fase final y que abrazaría cifras cercanas a los 200 millones de euros.
Todo este entramado no sólo abarcaría el importante proyecto en la zona de La Hacienda, antigua Alcaidesa, también afectaría, según estas publicaciones, a
los proyectos de El Palmar en Vejer, con otro hotel cinco estrellas, o los Palacetes de Córdoba, dónde también tenía previsto una construcción hotelera muy próxima a la Mezquita; proyectos que habrían quedado en manos de Javier Illán, según relatan las informaciones.
Publications in the specialist press have stated that the owners are assessing options regarding the possibility of selling one of its most ambitious projects for a price close to 200 million Euros.
All evidence points to the fact that the new five-star Fairmont could open its doors at the end of February, one of the most important projects in the last decade in the Sotogrande area. Along with this countdown, information has appeared in the specialist press stating that Millenium Hospitality, the real estate investment trust that owns the resort, may have put the entire resort up for sale at a price of 200 million Euros.
According to important publications such as El Confidencial, which is well-known in the capital (where the trust operates), the owners may be “putting their foot on the accelerator” to try to sell one of the most exclusive projects that it manages, the entire Fairmont La Hacienda resort, with everything that this entails.
It should be remembered that the Millenium project in the area encompasses this five-star hotel which is a few weeks away from opening (with 136 rooms and 51 branded residences); as well as La Hacienda Golf Course, with its two courses: Links y Heathland.
According to some of this information, the owners have commissioned the prestigious Savills agency to survey the market for the sale of the entire resort, a process that may be in its final phase, and which would involve figures of close to 200 million Euros.
All of this framework would not only encompass the important project in the La Hacienda area, formerly Alcaidea, it would also affect, according to the publications, the projects for El Palmar in Vejer, with another fi-
ve-star hotel, and the Palacetes de Córdoba, which had also planned the construction of a hotel very close

buena gestión. Los datos parecen positivos, sea que hablemos de la moderación de la inflación y del déficit público, o de la creación de empleo, o de un crecimiento del PIB que en 2024 rondará el 3 %, multiplicando casi por cuatro la media de la Unión Europea.

Economic results have been the great source of satisfaction for Pedro Sánchez’s government, which insists on them time and time again as unquestionable proof of its good management. The figures seem positive, whether we are talking about the softening of inflation and the public deficit, or job creation, or growth of GDP which in 2024 will be around 3%, almost four times the European Union average. Spain, which has been hit this year by the tragedy of storm DANA has left the crisis of the pandemic behind.
However, meticulous analysis enables us to have
more nuanced optimism. To begin with, we are doing better than other European nations because they are doing quite badly, beginning with Germany and France. With regard to growth, it is influenced by an excellent year of tourism, as we know in Andalusia, and due to the explosion of public spending and public debt, which are hotbeds for future sustainability problems. Containment of the deficit is due to increased fiscal pressure, hence the evident paradox of GDP increasing, but the sensation of the average citizen, between taxes and inflation (which is another tax) is that their living standard has stagnated or dropped.
On the political level, the situation is gloomy, between the corruption cases affecting the Govern-

En el plano político, la situación es sombría, entre los casos de corrupción que afectan al Gobierno y al PSOE, y la presión creciente que ejercen sus socios independentistas y de ultraizquierda, y que amenazan con dejar a Sánchez en una situación cada vez más precaria.
No obstante, y de forma análoga a lo que sucede en la economía, el panorama político es menos catastrófico de lo que parece. En primer lugar, la división y el enfrentamiento entre dichos socios ha llevado a la parálisis de varias iniciativas perjudiciales para los ciudadanos, como algunas subidas de impuestos. Y, en segundo lugar, el descrédito del Gobierno puede facilitar su recambio en las próximas elecciones generales.
Sea ello como fuere, aprovecho para desearle una feliz Navidad y un próspero 2025.

• El Juzgado de San Roque admite a trámite una querella por un presunto delito de estafa en relación a los socios y clientes de una conocida inmobiliaria en la zona de Sotogrande. La trama ronda el millón de euros de cuantía.
Precaución, cautela y justicia. Cierto estado de alarma e indignación ante la presentación de un presunto delito de estafa en la zona de Sotogrande, concretamente, a través de la captación de inversiones para un holding empresarial vinculado a activos hídricos y que a su salida a bolsa generaría grandes beneficios. La trama involucra a varios afectados y la cuantía del entramado ronda una cifra cercana al millón de euros.
El Juzgado de Primera Instancia e Instrucción Nº1 de San Roque ha admitido a trámite una querella por los hechos constitutivos, aparentemente, de un delito de estafa contra la entidad United Global Water Holdings Limited, sus socios R. Hess y N.
A. Stocker en calidad de investigados, precisamente por estos cargos y cuyas declaraciones de todas las partes implicadas están emplazadas al próximo mes de enero de 2025. También, como tiene vinculación con el extranjero, ya se ha librado una comisión rogatoria a las autoridades correspondientes en el Reino Unido.
Según el argumentario y re-
lato de los hechos presentados en el juzgado, la persona que supuestamente ejercía como ‘cabecilla’ de la trama se acercó a los afectados tratando de ganar su confianza con el pretexto de realizar una transacción comercial con ellos, con un importante valor a favor de los afectados. Una vez que tenía ganada su con-
fianza, amparándose en su presunto gran y exitoso bagaje profesional, les animaba a invertir en un proyecto de grandes garantías.
Lo que sería una inversión vinculada a un supuesto holding empresarial de activos hídricos y que una vez saliera a bolsa, con gran proyección
de éxito inmediato, la promesa de grandes beneficios estaría asegurada. Logrando captar cerca de un millón de euros de los afectados con esta premisa.
Una vez sobrepasados todos los plazos y tiempos acordados, incumpliendo la devolución de las cantidades pacta-
das, los afectados presentaron esta querella que ahora se investiga por un presunto delito de estafa.
Recordar que en el Código Penal actual, el delito de estafa puede acarrear, según cumplimiento de ley, un castigo de hasta 6 años de prisión.
• The Court of San Roque has accepted to process a complaint over an alleged fraud offence relating to the partners and clients of a well-known property development company in the Sotogrande area. The scheme amounts to around one million Euros.

There is a certain state of alarm and outrage over the emergence of an alleged fraud offence in the Sotogrande area, specifically, by attracting investments for a business holding linked to water assets and whose listing would produce large profits. The scheme involves several affected parties and the amount involved is close to one million Euros. The Court of First Instance and
Instruction No.1 of San Roque has accepted to process a complaint regarding the evidence, apparently, for a fraud offence against the entity United Global Water Holdings Limited, its partners R. Hess and N. A. Stocker as the parties under investigation, precisely for these roles and all the parties involved have been summoned to give statements in January 2025. Also, has there is a link to abroad, letters of request have
been issued to the corresponding authorities in the United Kingdom. According to the case and narrative of the evidence presented to the court, the person who allegedly acted as the “head” of the scheme approached those affected trying to win their trust with the pretext of carrying out a commercial transaction with them, with a significant profit for those affected. Once he had won
their trust, using his alleged great and successful professional background, he encouraged them to invest in a project with great guarantees. This would be an investment linked to a supposed business holding of water assets and once it was listed, with a great forecast for immediate success, the promise of great profits would be ensured. He managed to raise almost one million Euros from those affected with this premise. Having surpassed all the deadlines and agreed times, failing to return the agreed amounts, those affected submitted this complaint which is now being investigated as an alleged fraud offence. It is worth remembering that in the current Criminal Code, the crime of fraud can result, in compliance with the law, in a punishment of up to 6 years in prison.

sidente y diez vocales, uno de los cuales será nom-
brado por la Administración y tendrá voz pero no voto en el ejercicio. La celebración de esta asamblea permitirá a la EUC asumir el mantenimiento y conservación de la Marina en el corto plazo, una vez ésta apruebe su primer presupuesto para poder entrar en funcionamiento.
Las obras de urbanización fueron recepcionadas por el Ayuntamiento de San Roque en 2021. Recordar que Dicha asamblea se celebrará en el Juan Luis Galiardo, en la Alameda Alfonso XI de San Roque, a las 12:00 horas en primera convocatoria y a las 12:30 horas en segunda. Una gran oportunidad para la gran demanda vecinal.

The Executive Committee will be composed of a president and ten members, one of whom will be appointed by the Administration and will have a voice but no vote in the exercise.
The holding of this assembly will allow the EUC to take on the maintenance and conservation of the Marina in the short term, once it approves its first budget to be able to start operating.
The urbanisation works were received by the San Roque Town Hall in 2021. Remember that this assembly will be held in the Juan Luis Galiardo, in the Alameda Alfonso XI in San Roque, at 12:00 hours at first call and at 12:30 hours at second call. La Navidad es mucho más que luces, regalos y celebraciones; es una invitación a mirar hacia dentro, a detenernos un momento en medio del ajetreo del año y reflexionar sobre quiénes somos y quiénes queremos ser. En lugar de centrarnos exclusivamente en objetivos para 2025, propongo que estas Navidades sean un período con propósito, una oportunidad única para convertirnos en nuestra mejor versión.
El coaching nos enseña que las transformaciones profundas comienzan con la conciencia. Y pocas épocas del año son tan propicias como la Navidad para hacernos preguntas clave: ¿Estamos viviendo alineados con nuestros valores? ¿Estamos dedicando nuestro tiempo y energía a lo que realmente importa?
Vivir unas Navidades con propósito implica tres cosas. Primero, reflexionar sobre nuestro presente. Como decía el filósofo estoico Marco Aurelio, “La felicidad de tu vida depende de la calidad de tus pensamientos.” Es en el presente donde encontra-
mos las claves para construir un futuro mejor. Aprovechemos esta Navidad para apreciar lo que ya tenemos, en lugar de preocuparnos constantemente por lo que vendrá.
Segundo, ayudar a los demás. En una sociedad donde el éxito suele medirse en logros personales, es fácil olvidar el poder de la generosidad. Sin embargo, estudios han demostrado que ayudar a otros no solo beneficia a quien recibe, sino que también nos llena de propósito y satisfacción. Dedicar tiempo, recursos o simplemente una palabra amable puede ser el regalo más valioso de estas fiestas.
Por último, vivamos la Navidad como un espacio para ser buenas personas, tanto con los demás como con nosotros mismos. Séneca decía que “la vida no es corta si sabemos cómo vivirla.” Actuar con bondad y rectitud no es solo un ideal, es una práctica diaria que podemos reforzar en este tiempo especial.
Así que estas Navidades, más allá de planificar y establecer metas para el próximo año, detengámonos a vivir el presente con intención, a valorar nuestras relaciones y a buscar el crecimiento personal desde la reflexión y el servicio. Porque no hay mejor regalo para el mundo, ni para nosotros mismos, que trabajar en ser la mejor versión de quienes somos.

Christmas is about much more than lights, gifts, and celebrations; it is an invitation to look inwards, to stop for a moment in the midst of the bustle of the year and to reflect on who we are and who we want to be. Instead of solely focusing on goals for 2025, I suggest that this Christmas should be a period with purpose, a unique chance to become the best version of ourselves.
Coaching teaches us that deep transformations begin with awareness. And few times of the year are as favourable as Christmas for asking ourselves key questions: Are we living lives that are aligned with our values? Are we devoting our time and energy to what really matters?
Enjoying Christmas with purpose involves three things. First, reflecting on our present. As the stoic philosopher Marcus Aurelius said, “The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.” It is in the present that we find the keys to building a better future. We should make most of this Christmas to appreciate what we already have instead of constantly worrying about what will come.
Second, helping others. In a society where success is normally measured on personal achievements it is easy to forget about the power of generosity. However studies have shown that helping others not only benefits those who receive the help, but rather, it also fills us with purpose and satisfaction. Devoting time, resources or simply a kind word can be
the most valuable gift this Christmas.
Lastly we should enjoy Christmas as a space for being good people both for others and with ourselves. Seneca said that “life isn’t short if we know how to live it.” Acting with kindness and integrity isn’t only an ideal, it is a daily practice that we can strengthen at this special time.
So this Christmas, in addition to planning and setting goals for next year, we should stop to enjoy the present with intention, to value our relationships and seek personal growth through reflection and service. Because there’s no better gift for the world or for ourselves than working to be the best version of who we are.
In November 2024, second hand property in Andalusia had an average price drop of -0.16% compared to October, the second smallest in Spain. Year on year, there was a rise of 15.35%, the fifth most striking in the country.
Andalusia was the eighth most expensive autonomous community in the country, behind the Balearic Islands (4863 €/m²) among others. As for second-hand property in Spain, in November 2024 it recorded an average monthly drop in price of -0.26%. Year on year, the figure recorded had a rise of 12.80%.
Month on month, the province of Jaén (2.82%) had the biggest rise in Spain, while Huelva (-2.97%) had the fourth greatest devaluation in the country. Year on year, they all rose. Malaga (20.73%) was second in the ranking of Spanish provinces with the most growth. In terms of prices, the most expensive Andalusian province was Malaga (€3.470/m2), ranking fourth nationally.
In terms of Andalusian capitals, Jaén (2.58%) ranked seventh among capitals in the country with the greatest price rises. In turn, Córdoba (-1.61%) ranked second among Spanish capitals with the largest drops. Compared to last year, all Andalusian capitals rose. Malaga (24.27%) was third in the overall ranking of rises. In terms of prices, Jaén (€1.292/m²) had the second most affordable price in Spain, quite a distance from Malaga (€3.970/m²), which was the fifth most expensive in the country, according to data from the specialised website Pisos.

Political representatives and technicians from the eight councils of Campo de Gibraltar held a work meeting last Thursday, alongside the heads of the policies of the Provincial Institution in order to progress on the design of the tourism product that Campo de Gibraltar will present at Fitur 2025, the International Tourism Fair at which Campo de Gibraltar will once again have its own space as a destination inside the pavilion of the Andalusia brand. Likewise, during the same day, the president Pérez Custodio and vice-president Gallego Gavira held different virtual work meetings with heads of that management area of the Regional Government of Andalusia and the Provincial Council of Cádiz, with the aim of outlining the participation of the Province at the International Fair and making progress with both entities on the prior actions and work that is required ahead of the international tourist event.

Seis meses después de la reunión entre los comerciantes y el Concejal de Urbanismo de San Roque,
este último aún no ha proporcionado la documentación del proyecto para Sierra Bermeja, Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro. Los comerciantes de la zona consideran que este proyecto podría perjudicar gravemente al comercio local, ya que las obras podrían extenderse durante años y se eliminaría por completo el estacionamiento público en la calle, reemplazándolo con un aparcamiento subterráneo cuya gestión es incierta. A pesar de esto, los comerciantes siguen a la espera de la información específica que se les negó en mayo. Señalan que incluso el Consejo de Transparencia de Andalucía ha ordenado su entrega, pero hasta ahora no han recibido nada.
Por esta razón, el grupo de empresarios y comerciantes que se reunió en mayo volverá a encontrarse el próximo 10 de diciembre para discutir la posibilidad de crear una Asociación que defienda sus derechos y demande mejoras en relación con los planes del municipio. Expresan su frustración al afirmar que las decisiones se toman “Por lo visto se hace todo para nosotros pero sin nosotros, ya que varios partidos anuncian que han consensuado las medidas con los comercios pero no es cierto. Por aquí nadie ha pasado a preguntarnos siquiera”, denuncian.
A partir del 10 de diciembre se verá si logran constituir la nueva asociación y cuáles serán sus primeros pasos, los cuales probablemente buscarán hacer escuchar sus demandas a la administración y obtener respuestas sobre si serán atendidas o seguirán ignorándolos.
Six months after the meeting between business owners and the Councillor for Urban Planning of San Roque, the latter has still not provided documentation about the project for Sierra Bermeja, Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro.

After years of debate and expectation, in 2025 we will see the expected Law of Procedural Efficiency of the Public Justice Service become a reality. Its imminent definitive approval represents a turning point in access to justice in Spain. It seeks to streamline legal proceedings, alleviate the strain on courts and promote the use of Appropriate Means for Conflict Resolution (known as MASC in Spanish), in particular Mediation, and Private reconciliation. If everything goes to plan, it will be a law that transforms the judicial system, by modernising it and making it more accessible. As I have said so many times, Mediation offers the chance to manage and resolve conflicts with financial efficiency, and also in a healthy way. Thus, it not only involves an effort for dialogue seeking consensus, but it also entails learning about emotional intelligence. By making the involved parties the key figures in the process, it encourages personal maturity and social and civic awareness. Furthermore, broadening the perspective a little, we could say that it will be a law that will encourage assertive communication. It will do so by putting conflict management professionals at the service of citizens who are able to guide negotiations, helping those involved to resolve them in an independent, informed, responsible way, and of course, through dialogue. Its successful implementation will thus depend on an increasingly necessary professional profile: the conflict manager. This professional facilitator who is able to lead negotiations, through a neutral position, to achieve agreements that can be kept over time, in the mid to long term, as well as the immediate present, with which we are so familiar. Among the key aspects of the Law, it is worth highlighting:
1. Mandatory nature of the Appropriate Means for Conflict Resolution (MASC) Mediation and Private reconciliation will be introduced as a prior require in most civil and business proceedings.
2. Telematic trials, to facilitate access and cut costs.
3. Witness procedure, as a mechanism to prevent contradictory rulings in similar disputes.
4. Inclusion and accessibility with an emphasis on facilitating the participation of elderly people and vulnerable groups.
5. Reforms to appeals and enforcement of rulings to streamline rulings and reduce unnecessary burdens. In short, for ordinary citizens, this Law provides quicker and more affordable access to Justice, preventing long disputes. Also, the Justice Offices in rural municipalities will improve accessibility to depopulated areas. Companies will also benefit by reducing operating costs linked to long court cases and promoting healthier business environments.
Ultimately, the definitive approval of this Law of Procedural Efficiency will not only modernise the judicial system, but it will also empower society to open up new doors towards a more human, streamlined and sustainable form of conflict resolution.
Tras años de debate y expectativas, en 2025 veremos la esperada Ley de Eficiencia Procesal del Servicio Público de Justicia, hecha realidad. Su inminente aprobación definitiva, representa un punto de inflexión en el acceso a la justicia en España. Pretende agilizar los procedimientos judiciales, aliviar la saturación de los Tribunales e impulsar el uso de Métodos Adecuados de Solución de Conflictos (MASC), en especial, la Mediación y la Conciliación privada. Si todo va bien, será una Ley que transformará el sistema judicial, modernizándolo y haciéndolo más accesible.

Como tantas veces he dicho, la Mediación ofrece la posibilidad de gestionar y resolver conflictos con eficiencia económica y, además, de manera saludable. Es así pues no sólo implica un esfuerzo de dialogo buscando el consenso, sino también, un aprendizaje en inteligencia emocional. Al situar a las partes implicadas como protagonistas del proceso, se fomenta la madurez personal y la toma de conciencia social y ciudadana.
Es más, ampliando un poco la perspectiva, podríamos decir que será una Ley que fomentará la comunicación asertiva. Lo hará poniendo al servicio del ciudadano profesionales de la gestión de conflictos capaces de guiar negociaciones ayudando a los implicados a resolverlos de manera autónoma, informada, responsable y, por supueto, dialogada. Su implementación exitosa dependerá, por tanto, de un perfil profesional cada vez más necesario: el gestor de conflictos. Este profesional facilitador capaz de liderar, desde la neutralidad, negociaciones para lograr acuerdos sostenibles en el tiempo, en el medio y largo plazo, además del inmediato, al que estamos tan acostumbrados.
Entre los puntos clave de la Ley, cabe destacar:

En definitiva, la aprobación definitiva de esta Ley de Eficiencia Procesal, no solo modernizará el sistema judicial, sino que también empoderará a la sociedad al abrir nuevas puertas hacia una resolución de conflictos más humana, ágil y sostenible.

que evalúa y ofrece la solución más eficiente al paciente según sus necesidades específicas. “En Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar tenemos establecido un circuito especial preoperatorio, en el cual nuestros pacientes son evaluados por los servicios de Digestivo y Nutrición, además de una valoración por parte de Cardiología, Neumología y Anestesia, para optimizar las condiciones del paciente antes de ser intervenido. También pasan por el servicio de Psicología, debido a que tenemos que asegurarnos que el paciente no tenga un comportamiento anómalo con la alimentación (como bulimias o anorexias), cuyo desconocimiento puede desembocar en problemas de no ser capaces de hacer un seguimiento de la dieta una vez que el paciente sea operado. Luego, el endocrino también realiza una valoración para detectar si existe alguna otra patología hormonal o hipotiroidismo que haga coger peso al paciente. En definitiva, es un circuito previo por el que el paciente pasa para que podamos estudiar su caso y certificar si debe someterse a cirugía o si, por el contrario, con un tratamiento previo podemos evitar su paso por el quirófano”, manifiesta el especialista. Cuando el paciente pasa por este circuito especial y su caso particular precisa de intervención, la mejor opción es la cirugía bariátrica. Sobre este procedimiento, el doctor Aycart afirma que “la cirugía bariátrica es la operación que realizamos en pacientes con obesidad que tienen índice de masa corporal superior a 35. En este tipo de cirugías hacemos normalmente un bypass gástrico o manga gástrica, dependiendo del tipo de paciente, la patología que arrastre o del comportamiento alimentario que tenga. Es una cirugía muy segura y en 2-3 días el paciente está de vuelta en casa”.
Un aspecto que tienen claro es que esta intervención se realiza por problemas patológicos y en ningún caso por motivos estéticos. “La cirugía bariátrica no es una intervención estética, sino que es un procedimiento que se emprende a causa de una patología derivada de la obesidad. Es una cirugía que ayuda a mejorar la calidad de vida de los pacientes, porque su movilidad está deteriorada, las articulaciones sufren mucho por el sobrepeso, el corazón tiene que trabajar para bombear sangre para muchos más kilos de los debidos, incluso el doble en algunos casos, y eso a la larga tiene unas consecuencias negativas para el paciente”, aclara Enrique Aycart.

Bariatric surgery is an surgical procedure aimed at losing weight and rectifying co-morbidities such as high blood pressure and diabetes, where the patient can experience a reduction of between 20% and 40% of their bodyweight.
Doctor Enrique Aycart, head of the General Surgery and Digestive System Unit at Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar and Marbella hospitals and doctor Daniel Palomo have extensive experience treating obese patients and have a multidisciplinary team that assesses and offers the most efficient solution to the patient according to their specific needs.
“At Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar we have set up a special pre-operative circuit, where our patients are assessed by the Digestive and Nutrition services, as well as an assessment by the Cardiology, Pneumology and Anaesthetics units, in order to optimise the patient conditions before the procedure. They also go through the Psychology service, due to the fact that we have to ensure that the patient doesn’t display abnormal eating behaviour (such as bulimia or anorexia conditions), that a lack of knowledge about could result in problems if we are unable to monitor their diet once the patient is operated on. Then, the endocrinologist also carries out an assessment to detect if there is any other hormonal pathology or hypothyroidism that makes the patient gain weight. In short, there is a prior Circuit that the patient goes through so that we can study their case and check if they should undergo surgery or if on the contrary, with prior treatment we can avoid them having to undergo surgery” states the specialist.
When the patient goes through this special circuit and their specific case requires a procedure the best option is bariatric surgery. Regarding this procedure, doctor Aycart states that “bariatric surgery is the operation that we carry out on obese patients who have a body mass index of over 35. In this type of surgery we normally do a gastric bypass or a gas-
tric band, depending on the type of patient, the pathology they suffer from or their dietary behaviour. It is a very safe surgery and patients return home in 2-3 days.”
One aspect they are clear
about is that this procedure is carried out due to pathological problems and under no circumstances for cosmetic reasons. “Bariatric surgery is not a cosmetic procedure, rather, it is a procedure that is undertaken due to a pathology resulting from obesity. The Chamber of Commerce of Campo de Gibraltar and the Council of Cadiz are organising the reverse trade initiative Campo de Gibraltar Golf Experience involving a delegation of European tour operators to enable them to discover the province as a golf tourism destination.
This promotion initiative, which will take place over this week, got underway yesterday with the arrival and welcome of the tour operators at an event that took place in San Roque. Along with the attendance of golf course directors, the reception involved the participation of institutional representatives, formed by the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Carlos Fenoy, and other members of the chamber; the mayor of San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix and the Council Tourism delegate, Alfonso Valdivia, as well as the subdelegate of the Regional Government of Andalucía, Javier Ros.

The Marqués de Riscal vineyard has been named the World’s Best Vineyard and Europe’s Best Vineyard at the last competition held by World’s Best Vineyards 2024, two awards that once again reaffirm the excellence of a wine that is difficult to match, with 8 Spanish wineries among the top 50 globally.
Leading the ranking is the stunning winery designed by the architect Frank Gehry located in Elciego, which has over 160 years of history, followed by the Chilean winery VIK, named the best vineyard in South America, and Creation, which completes the podium in third place and which was named the best in South Africa.

The pharmacy in Castellar de la Frontera celebrated its 50th anniversary with an emotive event that commemorated five decades of dedication and community service. It all began with the ambition of a young 28-year-old pharmacist who decided to embark on this journey and open up a pharmacy in the municipality, when it was formed by only 800 people. A woman who has formed a team, teaching them the profession. A work group that has evolved over the years and that has managed to be a benchmark of care and wellbeing for citizens.
Juan Gavira has taken over from his mother, maintaining the commitment to the health of residents, although as he correctly says, “for my mother the pharmacy is a part of her, she continues to visit us to see how everything is going and also to remain, in some way, with the people of the town.”

La celebración del 50 aniversario
ha sido un día especial en el que celebrar con los vecinos, trabajadores y antiguos compañeros toda una vida dedicada a la salud y los vecinos del municipio.
El pasado 24 de noviembre se celebró la XXIX edición del Torneo Damas por Equipos del campo municipal de Golf La Cañada, prueba que reúne a muchos clubes de la Costa del Sol y que en esta ocasión reunió a 28 equipos, con un total de 112 jugadoras.
Fue una verdadera fiesta del golf femenino que sin duda lo convierte en una de las fechas más señaladas del calendario social y competitivo andaluz.
Como en ediciones anteriores, la prueba se celebró con equipos formados por 4 jugadoras del mismo club, bajo la modalidad Stableford Individual y donde cuentan las 3 mejores tarjetas de cada equipo de cara la clasificación final.
Los más destacados de la
prueba fueron el equipo Las Divas, del Club de Golf la Cañada y formado por Dolores Ríos, Amelia Do Nascimento, Alejandra Carazo y Lelanie Marais, que se pro-
clamó vencedor gracias a los 101 puntos realizados, la pareja formada por María José Gil y Hao Tran como la mejor hándicap con 72 puntos y Manita Choeychai-
yaphum como la mejor scratch y hándicap con 23 y 38 puntos, respectivamente, en el caso hándicap honor compartido con Josefa Gil y Rosario Castaño.
Tras la ronda de juego, todas las jugadoras pudieron disfrutar de una estupenda comida, cortesía del Restaurante Mulligan, tras la que se procedió a la protocolaria entrega de premios, comandada por Eva Gil, concejal del Valle del Guadiaro del Ayuntamiento de San Roque; Ana Vega, presidenta del Club La Cañada, y Belinda Romero y Pam Redican, delegadas femeninas del club.
Desde el Club de Golf de La Cañada quieren agradecer a los múltiples patrocinadores y clubes involucrados en esta prueba por sus aportaciones, así como al Comité Femenino del club y sus colaboradoras por la ayuda y el trabajo realizado para hacer que esta prueba, un año más, haya sido todo un éxito.
On 24 November the 29th edition of the Ladies Team Tournament took place at La Cañada municipal golf course, the event brings together many clubs on the Costa del Sol, and this time it involved a total of 28 teams, with a total of 112 players.

Carlota Ciganda ha vuelto a brillar al proclamarse campeona del Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by Oysho 2024, sumando su segundo título en este torneo tras su triunfo en 2021 y alcanzando el octavo título de su carrera en el Ladies European Tour (LET) Con un resultado final de -18, la navarra mostró su mejor versión para imponerse en un emocionante duelo a la belga Manon De Roey, segunda con -17, y a la india Pranavi Urs, tercera con -14. La victoria de Ciganda no fue fácil. Partía con una ventaja de cuatro golpes, pero la primera vuelta de la jornada demostró que el camino hacia la victoria no sería un paseo. Tras un comienzo complicado con bogeys en los hoyos 1 y 3, la belga De Roey, segunda clasificada en la Orden de Mérito del LET, empató el liderato gracias a una racha inicial de birdies en los hoyos 3 y 4. Sin embargo, Ciganda mantuvo la calma y demostró por qué es un referente del golf femenino español. Con birdies clave en los hoyos 5 y 7, la española logró mantenerse un golpe por delante al término de los primeros nueve hoyos.
En la segunda vuelta, la tensión se disparó. Carlota, que tuvo dificultades con el drive durante toda la semana, protagonizó recuperaciones magistrales con los hierros,
como la del hoyo 10, donde salvó el par tras enviar la bola al agua en el segundo golpe. Mientras tanto, De Roey continuaba presionando, empatando nuevamente en el par 5 del hoyo 12 gracias a un birdie. Sin embargo, la navarra respondió con sangre fría, logrando un birdie fundamental en el hoyo 14 que la devolvió al liderato. El momento decisivo llegó en el par 3 del 17, donde Ciganda embocó un putt de cuatro metros para birdie, cele-
brando con el público que llenó Guadalhorce. Un bogey en el 18 no empañó su actuación, certificando una victoria que la consolida como una de las grandes referentes del golf femenino español.
«Es muy especial ganar aquí en España. El Open de España siempre ha sido un torneo único para mí, y ganarlo por segunda vez es un sueño hecho realidad», declaró Carlota tras su triunfo. Sobre su juego, añadió: «He

Victory wasn’t easy for Ciganda. She began with a four-shot lead, but the first round of the day showed that the path towards victory wouldn’t be a stroll. After a difficult start with bogeys at holes 1 and 3, the Belgian De Roey, ranked second in the LET Order of Merit, tied for the lead thanks to an opening spell with birdies at holes 3 and 4. However, Ciganda remained calm and showed why she is a benchmark in Spanish women’s golf. With key birdies at holes 5 and 7, the Spaniard managed to stay a shot ahead at the end of the first nine holes.
In the second round, the tension spiked. Carlota, who had difficulties with her drive the entire week, starred in masterful recoveries with her irons, such as at hole 10, where she saved par after sending her ball into the water on her second shot. Meanwhile, De Roey continued to exert pressure, drawing level again at the par 5 hole 12 thanks to a birdie. However, the Navarre player responded with a calm head, earning a crucial birdie at hole 14 that put her back in the lead again. The decisive moment came in the par 3 at 17, where Ciganda holed a four metre putt for birdie, celebrating with the crowd that packed Guadalhorce. A bogey at 18 didn’t dampen her performance, sealing a victory that establishes her as one of the great benchmarks in Spanish women’s golf.
“It is very special to win here in Spain. The Spanish Open has always been a unique tournament for me and winning it for the second time is a dream come true” stated Carlota after her win. Regarding her play, she added: “I started with some doubts. Manon quickly shortened the gap, but I continued playing well generally. The birdie at 17 was decisive; it reminded me of hole 17 at Finca Cortesín during the 2023 Solheim Cup. I played an eight iron and the distance was almost identical.” She also had praise for Andrea Revuelta, who she played the round with: “She is a very mature player. I am sure that she will win this tournament in the future.”
