En numerosos problemas sociales, la mediación preventiva, como nos agudizan todas las nuevas tendencias y cauces de prevención de conflictos, suele ser la mejor y más efectiva herramienta que nos ayude a adelantarnos a un posible inconveniente y solventarlo de la manera más airosa. Hemos podido comprobar, en las últimas semanas, que varias normativas y regulaciones de carácter local y regional no están consiguiendo paliar problemas en el día a día que la sociedad tiene que encajar y sobrellevar de una manera independiente y casi, en muchos casos personal.

Un accidente aislado, que no tiene evidentemente que corresponder a todo el colectivo de usuarios de autocaravanas, lleva a pensar en la falta de actualización, control y normativa de los organismos regulados de estas estancias y pernoctas. Estamos comprando en enclaves como Torreguadiaro (aparcamiento playa) o Cala Sardina, dónde se incumple sistemáticamente el cupo horario y días permitidos para estacionar, el establecimiento en largas ventas de tiempo y el uso abusivo de espacios públicos y falta de convivencia.

Con estampas dantescas, suciedad, micciones y falta de cuidado por el entorno, vemos que una buena parte de los usuarios no cumplen con el reglamento establecido y eso, obviamente van en detrimento del resto de residentes, por correspondencia en obligaciones y derechos, así como por civil convivencia.

Algo similar podría suceder también con las gestiones de previsión en el consumo de recursos de agua. La pasada primavera, con contundentes mesas de sequía, se veía muy próximo un escenario dantesco sin uso de agua para zonas turísticas y de consumo propio. Regular y controlar es excesos debe ser algo actualizado a la situación que vivimos.

In many social problems, preventive mediation, as new trends and channels for conflict prevention have made us more aware, is normally the best and most effective tool that can help us to foresee a possible setback and resolve it in the most successful way. Over the last few weeks, we have seen that several rules and regulations of a local and regional character are not managing to alleviate the problems that society has to face and endure in an independent and, in many cases, almost personal way.

An isolated accident, which clearly doesn’t correspond to the entire collective of users of motorhomes, leads one to think about the lack of updating, checks and legislation from regulated bodies about these stays and overnight stays. In areas such as Torreguadiaro (beach car park) and Cala Sardina, where the times and days allowed for parking are systematically breached, we are seeing motorhomes parked for long periods of time and the abusive use of public spaces and the lack of social harmony.

Como también habría que controlar y velar el uso de pisos turísticos, emplazamiento, masificación o falta de comportamiento o convivencia. Todo en su correcto y coherente uso tiene significado, el resto no es compatible. Igual que con el exceso celo en la transmisión y licencias urbanísticas, como en lo contrario. En los grises suele estar el terreno acertado. Actualizar y modernizar esta cuestión es y sigue siendo responsabilidad de mandatarios. Así como de ciudadanos exigirlo.

Crecimiento cualitativo

“En una mercado de gran actividad, no destacarse es lo mismo que ser invisible”. La gran e inspiradora frase del reconocido Seth Godin nos permite poner y enmarcar un contexto dado al crecimiento y el incremento de visibilidad, valores, tangibles y proyecciones internacionales que un destino como Sotogrande plantea y predispone para el próximo lustro.

Si bien, en los últimos años el resort ha dado un giro enorme en relación a su expansión y proyectos aperturistas al que será el Sotogrande del nuevo siglo [proyectos cinco estrellas, residenciales de alto lujo, nuevas construcciones y amplitud de fronteras hacia el sur, en el entorno de La Hacienda, y el oeste, hacia La Reserva y Castellar, con nuevas y ambiciosas propuestas]; el Sotogrande de los próximos diez años también tendrá un nuevo aire, aún más de perfil alto y con una exponencial visibilidad exterior con los muchos proyectos que están tomando forma en estos días. Hasta aquí se puede leer, de momento Precisamente, uno de los más esperados de esta larga lista, es la apertura del Hotel Fairmont en La Hacienda dentro de sólo unas horas [si recoge como pan caliente esta nueva edición de febrero de El Periódico Soogrande]. Se trata de una plaza hotelera de enorme rango (con capacidad para más de 300 espacios) y de un enorme prestigio internacional, a nivel de marca y posicionamiento en el sector lujo. Sin duda, supone un salto enorme para todo el entorno, ampliando perimetralmente la concentración del alto nivel de la urbanización; además de un aporte necesario de camas hoteleras y de espacios de primer nivel. Algo que viene a sumar y dicho sea de paso, a mejorar. Ya que también posiciona un hotel de primer orden a la orilla del mar, en un playa extraordinaria, algo que aún no tenía el entorno. Eso consigue perfilar un crecimiento cualitativo de calidad, valga la reiteración. No un crecimiento masivo, a cualquier precio. Se trata de un incremento pausado y planificado al detalle que viene a mejorar lo que existe y a exponer nuevos horizontes. Como también lo hacen las nuevas promociones urbanísticas en los perfiles de la urbanización. Como también suma y mejora MiM Sotogrande en el puerto, las nuevas urbanizaciones ya en comercialización o por formarse, como el proyecto de Acciona en Torreguadiaro; así como todo lo que está por venir, cada vez se intuye más movimiento por Majarambuz con el respaldo de Zagaleta (y sus nuevos postores).

Qualitative growth

Indeed, one of the most eagerly awaited things on this long list is the opening of Hotel Fairmont at La Hacienda within just a few hours (if you are holding this new February edition of El Periódico Sotogrande fresh from the printing press). It is a hotel with huge range (with capacity for over 300 beds) and tremendous international prestige, in terms of the brand and positioning in the luxury sector. Undoubtedly, it is an enormous leap for the entire area, extending the area of the concentration of the high end sector in the resort; as well as providing necessary hotel beds and first-rate spaces. This is something that contributes and, in passing, improves. As it positions a first-rate hotel on the sea shore, on an extraordinary beach, something that the area didn’t have yet.

El legado de Sotogrande es algo complejo y difícil de estructura, cada uno puede tener una idea. Pero sin embargo, si todas esas ideas convergen hacia un crecimiento, exclusivo, a nivel cualitativo, estamos ante una década que puede cambiar el concepto de Sotogrande para siempre. Hacia un futuro único y en sus manos.

El salario mínimo del que nadie habla

Se habla mucho de la subida del Salario Mínimo Interprofesional (SMI), una medida estrella desde que el PSOE regresó al Palacio de la Moncloa. Pero nadie habla de un salario mínimo importante: el salario mínimo que no se cobra.

En efecto, el salario mínimo es una barrera frente a la creación de empleo para aquellos trabajadores con menor productividad, y que por esa razón no cobrarán dicho salario, porque perderán su empleo o no podrán conseguir un empleo si están parados.

There is a lot of talk about the increase in the minimum inter-professional wage (SMI), a star measure since PSOE returned to the Moncloa Palace. However, nobody talks about an important minimum wage: the minimum wage that isn’t paid.

Indeed, the minimum wage is a barrier to job creation for workers with lower productivity, and who for that reason will not receive this salary, because they will lose their job or will be unable to get a job if they are unemployed.

And in a country that has record unemployment, especially youth unemployment, neither the Govern-

ment, nor its partners, nor trade unions, showed any interest in discussing the impact of SMI on unemployment. Everything seemed to come down to whether the recipients of the increased minimum wage should pay income tax or not. Nothing more.

As Expansión outlined in its editorial, the SMI has become a supposedly progressive flagship policy, when it is an example of “political opportunism” in order to gain electoral benefits from a left wing that wants to present itself as flying the flag for the working class.

In practice, several institutions have warned of the risk to employment posed by the considerable increase in the SMI imposed by the Government of Sánchez while in turn reducing productivity. The employer’s association estimated that 350,000 jobs have

Y en un país que tiene récord de paro, en especial de paro juvenil, ni el Gobierno, ni sus socios, ni los sindicatos, mostraron interés en discutir el impacto del SMI sobre el desempleo. Todo pareció reducirse a si los perceptores del incrementado salario mínimo deberán pagar el IRPF o no. Nada más.

Como editorializó Expansión, el SMI se ha convertido en una bandera supuestamente progresista, cuando es una muestra de “oportunismo político” para conseguir ventajas electorales por parte de una izquierda que quiere presentarse como abanderada de la clase obrera.

En la práctica, son varias las instituciones que han advertido del riesgo que supone para el empleo la considerable subida del SMI impuesta por el Gobierno de Sánchez a la vez que disminuye la productividad. La patronal Cepyme estimó que se han dejado de crear 350.000 puestos de trabajo en las empresas más pequeñas, que son las más perjudicadas por los aumentos del SMI, al ser su productividad inferior a la de las empresas grandes. Informó ABC: “España tiene el SMI más costoso de la Unión Europea pese a registrar la segunda mayor caída de la productividad”.

Y así, mientras las autoridades insisten en que se dedican a proteger a los “vulnerables”, en realidad los castigan, porque sus medidas dañan en particular a los más débiles. Por cierto, lo mismo sucede con los impuestos, aunque en este caso sospecho que la población percibe con más claridad lo que las estadísticas indican, a saber, que el peso de la mayor recaudación no ha recaído sobre los ricos sino sobre los trabajadores, los autónomos y la clase media.

Students from Sotogrande International School hold environmental awareness day on Torreguadiaro beach

A group of students from Sotogrande International School carried out an environmental awareness initiative, holding a cleaning day on Torreguadiaro beach. The activity, organised as part of its educational sustainability programme, was aimed at raising awareness among the community about the importance of preserving the natural environment and reducing pollution.

The students, accompanied by teachers and volunteers, explored the beach armed with gloves and reusable bags in order to collect waste. The most common waste found notably included plastics, cigarette butts, glass containers and the remains of fishing nets, items that pose a serious threat to marine wildlife and the coastal ecosystem. Also, the use of recyclable materials and the reduction of single use plastic was promoted, encouraging greater environmental awareness among young people.

The day ended with the proper classification and removal of the waste collected, which was given to the waste management services to be properly processed. Both students and teachers outlined their satisfaction at the work carried out and reaffirmed their commitment to continue to participate in similar initiatives in the future.

With these types of actions, Sotogrande International School is reaffirming its commitment to environmental education and the promotion of a more sustainable lifestyle, contributing to caring for the community’s natural environment and encouraging greater environmental awareness among new generations.

¿Y el uso de aparcamientos de autocaravanas?

Desde hace varios años Torreguadiaro se ha convertido en un punto de estacionalidad de autocaravanas incidiendo en el periodo de invierno. Una situación idónea debido a la temperatura que se puede encontrar durante todo el año. Una situación que se ha masificado tanto en el aparcamiento de la playa de Torreguadiaro como en Cala Sardina. Los vecinos de la zona se han quejado de las largas estancias de los usuarios, el mal comportamiento en algunos casos y extensión de terreno, sin olvidarnos lo ocurrido a principios de este año, en Cala Sardina, con la persona quemada en su propia autocaravana.

Cabe recordar la ordenanza cursada pro el Ayuntamiento de San Roque y publicada en el Boletín Oficial de la Provincia de Cádiz Nº130 (el 11 de julio de 2016); en el

que manifiesta la necesidad de establecer un marco legal que fije a nivel municipal a la situación de las autocaravanas en la localidad. Recoge en la regulación la igualdad de uso y derechos que cualquier otro vehículo en el tránsito por la vía publica siempre y

cuando, como acentúa en el Art.4.13, que no obstaculice o incordie su estacionamiento o partes anexas (toldos, ventanas extensibles, etc.), al normal funcionamiento y tráfico de la zona en cuestión. También recoge el mismo articulo en su siguiente punto que deben

respectar las normas reguladas en cuanto a vertido y ruidos e incluso, deja la constancia de que las zonas habilitadas para el estacionamiento de las mismas pueden tener un máximo de 96 horas. Con el objetivo de garantizar la rotación de los aparcamientos y espacios perti-

nentes entre los demandantes de dichas localidades. Otros municipios acusados por la misma situación han tomado un mayor control, poniendo el foco en cómo se puede mejorar esta situación para que convivan vecinos y turistas.

Detenido el presunto autor del homicidio del cuerpo calcinado en una autocaravana en Cala Sardina

La Guardia Civil ha detenido a un hombre de 47 años como presunto autor de un delito de homicidio y de incendio con riesgo para las personas por los hechos ocurridos el pasado 9 de enero. Se encontró un cuerpo calcinado en el interior de una autocaravana, de matrícula alemana, en la playa de Cala Sardina de San Roque. En un primer momento, no fue posible la identificación del cuerpo. Tras una exhaustiva investigación y el intercambio de información con autoridades policiales alemanas se consiguió finalmente identificar a la víctima, una ciudadana alemana que había regresado a España recientemente.

Se trata de un varón de 47 años de edad que había conocido a la víctima el día anterior en Barcelona y que se había trasladado en tren hasta Málaga acompañando a la misma. Una vez en la estación de tren, tomaron un autobús con destino Algeciras y desde allí fueron trasladados en taxi hasta la playa de Cala Sardina, lugar en el que la víctima mantenía estacionada su autocaravana y donde finalmente se cometió el homicidio. Ante este hecho, los agentes sospecharon que el incendio había sido provocado por lo que se solicitó apoyo del Equipo de Especialistas en Investigación de Incendios de la Policía Judicial

de la Zona de Andalucía. Tras la reconstrucción de los últimos días de vida de la víctima y el análisis de las imágenes de las cámaras de videovigilancia, así como de los datos de los repetidores de telefonía, la Guardia Civil consiguió averiguar la identidad del presunto autor de los hechos.

Fue entonces cuando los agentes del Área de Personas de la Unidad Orgánica de Policía Judicial de la Comandancia de la Guardia Civil de Algeciras desarrollaron el operativo de búsqueda y

comprobaron que el presunto autor había huido de la zona y se había ocultado en varios municipios gaditanos.

Finalmente, este 25 de enero se le detuvo en Cádiz con heridas en las manos por las quemaduras del incendio.

El detenido pasó a disposición de la autoridad judicial tres días después decretando la misma el ingreso en prisión preventiva por los delitos de homicidio e incendio con riesgo para las personas.

The Civil Guard has arrested a 47-year-old man as the suspected perpetrator of a murder and fire with risk to people for the events that occurred on 9 January. A body was found burned inside a motorhome, with a German number plate, on Cala Sardina beach in San Roque.

Initially, it was not possible to identify the body. After a thorough investigation and exchange of information with German police authorities, it was finally possible to identify the victim, a German female citizen who had recently returned to Spain.

The suspect is a 47-year-old male who had met the victim the day before in Barcelona and who had travelled by train to Malaga, accompanying her. Once at the train station, they took a nus to Algeciras and from there they were taken by taxi to Cala Sardina beach, where the victim had parked her motorhome and where the murder ultimately took place.

Thanks to the initial statements from witnesses, it was possible to verify that the individual had fled from the scene of the events after the fire. In view of this, agents suspected that the fire had been started therefore support was requested from the Team of Fire Investigation Specialists of the Judicial Police in the Andalusia Region.

After the reconstruction of the last few days in the life of the victim and analysis of the video surveillance images, as well as data from telephone repeaters, the Civil Guard managed to verify the identity of the alleged perpetrator of the acts. Me encanta comunicar, tener proyectos nuevos y la psicología, creo que fue la combinación perfecta para escribir este libro “Como conseguir tus metas”. Es un resumen de métodos que yo pongo en practica en mi día a día tanto personal como profesional.

En la presentación has tenido un público bastante joven, ¿cómo ha sido tener la potencia con este público?

El público de hoy era complicado, son jóvenes de 16,17, 18 años que son muy sinceros demostrando si les interesa la potencia. La verdad, es que han estado atentos, se han preocupa por todos los temas que se han ido tratando. Los jóvenes actualmente están muy

criticados por todo el tiempo que dedican a las pantallas, pero he visto una juventud que se preocupa mucho más por la salud mental, que valora más la vida, tener flexibilidad y no conformarse en un trabajo, valores que los adultos también deberíamos de aprender de ellos.

Totalmente y para terminar, ¿qué consejo podrías dar para que la gente intente conseguir estar más cerca de sus metas?

El principal problema es que hay mucha gente que

no sabe lo que quiere en su vida porque estamos en constante piloto automático vivimos en una sociedad hiperestimulada, hiperactividad y tenemos como esos momentos de parar y hay que parar y preguntarse estoy en el camino correcto o no, vive tan enfocado en la rutina que paran en preguntarse qué quieren. Entonces el consejo que les daría sería el saber que es lo que realmente quiere y poner el foco en conseguirlo

I love communicating, having new projects and psychology, I think it was the perfect combination to write this book ‘How to achieve your goals’. It is a summary of methods that I put into practice in my dayto-day personal and profes-

sional life.

In the presentation you had quite a young audience, what was it like to have the power with this audience?

Today’s audience was complicated, they are young people of 16, 17, 18 years old who are very sincere in showing if they are interested in power. The truth is that they have been

attentive, they have been concerned about all the topics that have been dealt with. Young people are currently criticised for all the time they spend on screens, but I have seen young people who are much more concerned about mental health, who value life more, have flexibility and don’t settle for a job, values that we adults should also learn from them.

Finally, what advice could you give to help people try to get closer to their goals?

The main problem is that there

are many people who don’t know what they want in their life because we are in constant autopilot, we live in a hyper-stimulated society, hyperactivity and we have these moments of stopping and we have to stop and ask ourselves if we are on the right path or not, we live so focused on the routine that we stop to ask ourselves what we want. So the advice I would give them would be to know what they really want and focus on getting it.

Amor Fati

Stoics used the metaphor of the dog tied to a cart to illustrate this idea. Imagine a dog tied to a moving cart; it may resist and be dragged, suffering in the process, or it can walk alongside the cart, exploring its environment and adapting to the pace of the journey. Similarly, we can resist the circumstances of life, which causes suffering, or we can accept them and find opportunities for growth in them. Faced with adversity, we have three options: to flee, deny it, or embrace it and learn from it. Fleeing can offer us temporary relief, but it doesn’t solve the underlying problem. Denying adversity disconnects us from reality and can lead us to greater frustration. On the other hand, by embracing adversity, we acknowledge its existence and try to understand it, which enables us to learn and grow from it.

Practising “amor fati” invites us to see each event, whether positive or negative, as an essential part of our experience. By doing so, we develop resilience which enables us to face challenges with calmness and wisdom. As Nietzsche said: “My formula for greatness in a human being is amor fati: that one wants nothing to be different, not forward, not backward, not in all eternity. Not merely bear what is necessary, still less conceal it...but love it.” By adopting this perspective, we transform our relationship with reality, by learning to love every moment the way it is, and by acknowledging that every experience contributes to our personal development. Thus, instead of fighting against the flow of life, we move harmoniously with it, finding peace and purpose in every step of the journey.

El precio de la vivienda en Andalucía sube más del 16% frente al año pasado

La vivienda en Andalucía, en el arranque de 2025, crece por encima del 1% respecto a las semanas finales del 2024.

La vivienda de segunda mano en Andalucía en enero de 2025 tuvo un precio medio en ascenso del 1,16% frente al mes de diciembre de 2024. Interanualmente, se produjo una subida del 16,89%, la sexta más relevante del país.

Andalucía fue la octava autonomía más cara del país, por detrás de Baleares (5.025 €/m²), entre otras. En

cuanto a la vivienda de segunda mano en España, en enero de 2025 registró un precio medio en ascenso mensual del 1,85%. De un año a otro, la cifra registrada marcó una subida del 15,77%.

La Guardia Civil detiene a dos personas por robar más de 1.000 kilos de aguacates

• Los detenidos, vecinos de San Martin del Tesorillo, cuentan con numerosos antecedentes por hechos similares.

La Guardia Civil ha detenido a dos personas como presuntos autores del robo de más de 1.000 kilos de aguacates en varias fincas de San Martín del Tesorillo y San Enrique de Guadiaro.

La investigación se inició al tener conocimiento de la Guardia Civil de que se estaba produciendo robo de aguacates en las explotaciones agrícolas de la zona.

Se hicieron numerosas gestiones de investigación por la zona para que los agentes pudieran constatar que los implicados estacionaban su vehículo en

las inmediaciones de las fincas cuando ya no había nadie trabajando en ellas, y sustraían los aguacates que posteriormente transportaban en sacos hasta el vehículo.

De esta manera habrían podido sustraer más de 1.000 kilos de aguacates en diferentes fincas de San Martín del Tesorillo y San Enrique de Guadiaro. Las pesquisas recabadas por los Agentes han permitido conocer que la mercancía sustraída era vendida a diferentes comercios y particulares sin ningún tipo de control sanitario.

Civil Guard makes two arrests for theft of over 1,000 kgs of avocadoes in Campo de Gibraltar

• Those arrested, residents of San Martin del Tesorillo, have several cases on their criminal records for similar events.

The Civil Guard made two arrests of the alleged perpetrators of the theft of over 1,000 kilograms of avocadoes in several estates in San Martín del Tesorillo and San Enrique de Guadiaro. The investigation got underway when the Civil Guard was made aware that the theft of avocadoes was taking place at farms in the area.

Several investigative procedures were taking place in the area in order for agents to verify that those involved would park their vehicle in the areas around the estates when there was nobody working on them, and they would steal the avocadoes which they subsequently transported in bags to their vehicle. Thus, they may have stolen over 1,000 kilograms of avocadoes from different estates in San Martín del Tesorillo and San Enrique de Guadiaro.

The investigations carried out by the Agents made it possible to find out that the stolen goods were sold to different businesses and individuals without any kind of health checks.

La Sección Séptima de la Audiencia Provincial, con sede en Algeciras, ha condenado a una pena de ocho años de cárcel al ciudadano de Estados Unidos, Michael Martín, acusado de matar a su esposa, Yane Rose, de origen ruso, en el mes de diciembre del año 2021 en La Línea de la Concepción.

Según ha indicado el TSJA, el acusado iba a ser enjuiciado por un jurado popular el pasado mes de enero, pero la vista oral no se celebrará finalmente tras el acuerdo de conformidad alcanzado por la Fis-

calía, la acusación particular, la defensa y el propio investigado, que reconoció los hechos y aceptó la imposición de una condena de ocho años de prisión por un delito de homicidio con la agravante de parentesco, al estar casado con la víctima, y la atenuante muy cualificada de reparación del daño, pues ha consignado judicialmente con anterioridad al juicio la cantidad de 150.000 euros para indemnizar a los padres de la víctima. Asimismo, el encausado aceptó la medida de libertad vigilada durante diez años tras

el cumplimiento de la pena de cárcel. De este modo, y por conformidad de las partes y del acusado, la Audiencia declara probado que el acusado mantuvo una relación sentimental con la víctima, quien, siendo de origen ruso, residía en Estados Unidos desde el mes de septiembre de 2003, contrayendo matrimonio en abril de 2019, tras lo que, desde el mes de agosto de 2021, estaban haciendo una ruta turística por distintos países de Europa.

Según la sentencia, entre los días 21 y 27 de diciembre de 2021 estuvieron hospedados en el término municipal de La Línea de la Concepción, de

manera que, durante esa estancia y en una fecha indeterminada entre los días 25 y 26 de diciembre, el acusado, “en actitud agresiva y violenta, tras propinarle varios golpes y con intención de acabar con su vida, estranguló con sus propias manos” a su pareja sentimental.

Como consecuencia de dicha agresión, la víctima sufrió gran cantidad de lesiones perimortales, fundamentalmente en el rostro, los miembros superiores y cervicales, siendo de extrema gravedad la producida en el cuello, por todo lo cual se produjo finalmente su fallecimiento. Según ha indicado el TSJA, los

A este grupo se le atribuyen 16 robos, entre las provincias implicadas se encuentran Cádiz, Córdoba, Murcia, Alicante, Málaga y Sevilla por un valor de al menos 10 millones de euros.

La investigación arrancó en junio del 2024 cuando los agentes de las áreas de Patrimonio de las Unidades Orgánicas de Policía Judicial (UOPJ) de las Comandancias de la Guardia Civil de Algeciras y de Sevilla tuvieron conocimiento de varios robos ocurridos en una lujosa urbanización de la zona de Sotogrande. Lo hacían empleando una cuidadosa planificación tanto analizando las medidas de seguridad como en las rutinas de sus moradores, para aseguraban su éxito sin ser identificados o interceptados durante la huida.

Group of luxury property thieves disbanded

The Civil Guard has disbanded a group that would steal from luxury properties in different areas of Spain. This group is charged with 16 thefts, the provinces involved include Cadiz, Cordoba, Murcia, Alicante, Malaga and Seville amounting to a value of at least 10 million Euros. The investigation got underway in June 2024 when the agents of the Property units of the Organic Units of the Judicial Police (UOPJ) of the Units of the Civil Guard of Algeciras and Seville became aware of several thefts that had taken place in a luxury resort in the Sotogrande area. They did so through meticulous planning, analysing both the security measures and the routines of the inhabitants, in order to ensure their success without being identified or caught during the escape.

The members of the criminal group hid their faces, dressed completely in black and wore gloves. The aim was to steal money, jewellery, and luxury objects that were easy to transport in backpacks. They used cars with large capacity engines with fake number plates to escape.

Most of the belongings have been recovered and returned to those affected, although there are still stolen objects that have not been located.

Los integrantes del grupo criminal ocultaban sus rostros, vestían completamente de negro y usaban guantes. El objetivo era sustraer dinero, joyas y objetos de lujo que fueses fácil de transportar en mochilas. Los automóviles que

utilizaban para las huidas eran de gran cilindrada y con matrículas falsas.

La mayoría de las pertenencias se han podido recuperar y devolver a los afectados, aunque aún quedan objetos sustraídos sin localizar.

Durante su gestión, Smith combinó su visión estratégica con un compromiso inquebrantable con la excelencia, logrando posicionar a Sotogrande como uno de los destinos residenciales y turísticos más codiciados de Europa. La Marina

de Sotogrande, con su diseño único y sus canales navegables, se convirtió en un referente arquitectónico y un atractivo internacional para los amantes de la navegación y la vida costera de lujo. Think about it: if your self-esteem is at rock bottom, you accept crumbs, you surround yourself with emotional vampires and you confuse love with need. It is pure emotional mathematics: you give what you have within you.

A Harvard study reveals that happiness isn’t in achievements or money, but rather in genuine relationships. However, be careful, those relationships don’t flourish if you don’t cultivate yourself first. Gen Z is clear about this: prioritise authenticity and real friendships before textbook romantic relationships. They don’t look for other halves, but rather connections without the need to “complete” anyone. What a relief, no?

The fact is that loving yourself

isn’t only about looking at yourself in the mirror and reciting affirmations (although if that works for you, go ahead). It is about treating yourself with the same patience and affection with which you would treat a loved one. It is about learning to say “no” without feeling that you should write an apology letter. It is about giving yourself permission without the absurd feeling that you need to “earn it.” It is about surrounding yourself with people that make you feel at home, not that you’re in an interrogation room.

When you value yourself, your filter improves. You move away from toxic relationships because they simply don’t fit with you. As Brené Brown said: “Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love.” And that is what it is about: being your best life companion. Because when you love yourself properly, the love you give -and receive- is much more authentic, freer and much healthier. So, before looking for love in the outside world, begin from within. Ultimately, that is the most important relationship.

4th year Secondary and 1st year Baccalaureate students from Colegio San José brought their classmates closer to the worldofScienceandTechnology at the VI Science Week, an experience that awakens the interest of our future scientists each year.

Over five days, students organise exhibitions, practical demonstrations and scientific experiments about Physics, Chemistry, Technology, Biology, and the Environment that involve all the students from the school who visit the different stands that are set up.

Also, at this edition they had the privilege of attending talks

and presentations such as that of Dr Juan Jesús Bellido, Coordinator of the Technical Office of the Spanish Committee of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

INTERNATIONAL DAY

Empathy, tolerance and respect are the dominant values on the International Day celebrated at the School to commemorate the School Day of Non-violence and Peace. This intercultural day, which involves the entire educational community, is aimed at discovering new cultures, customs and traditions by encouraging empathy, understanding, tolerance, mutual respect and an international mindset.

Durante estas sesiones estos jóvenes eurodiputados han debatido sobre “La autonomía estratégica energética”, “Los retos para la cultura y el arte”, “La cuestión de los acuerdos de la UE con los países vecinos para controlar la migración” y sobre cómo “Garanti-

zar unos medios de comunicación libres y plurales en la UE”.

A su vez, dos alumnos han pasado esta fase siendo seleccionados para participar en la fase nacional que tendrá lugar durante los días 1, 2 y 3 de marzo en Madrid con sesiones en el Congreso de los Diputados. La participación en programas internacionales como éste confirma el compromiso del Colegio San José de unir la formación académica a la educación en valores. El trabajo en equipo, la inquietud por la cultura, la curiosidad por el conocimiento, el pensamiento crítico y la mentalidad internacional son fines cuyo alcance constituye el rasgo de identidad del Colegio.

During these sessions, the young members of European parliament debated “strategy energy autonomy”, “challenges for culture and art”, “the issue of EU agreements with

neighbouring countries to control migration” and how to “guarantee free and pluralistic media in the EU.”

In turn, two pupils made it through this phase and were selected to take part in the national phase which will be held on 1, 2, and 3 March in Madrid with sessions in the Spanish Parliament.

Participation in international programmes like this one confirms the commitment of Colegio San Jose to combine academic training with learning about values. Team work, an interest in culture, curiosity for knowledge, critical thinking and an international mentality are goals whose attainment constitutes the School’s hallmark.

Educación ambiental para los más pequeños en Sotogrande

El CEIP Taraguilla ha participado en el Programa de Concienciación Medioambiental 2025. La Fundación Navega y el Ayuntamiento de San Roque, destinada a promover el conocimiento y la protección del entorno marino. Durante las jornadas desarrolladas la

semana pasada, los alumnos del centro educativo participaron en salidas y talleres diseñados para fomentar la educación ambiental en el ámbito de la náutica de recreo.

La actividad se enmarca en un proyecto que busca involucrar a la comunidad educativa en

prácticas de conservación del medio ambiente, sensibilizando a los estudiantes sobre la importancia de prevenir la contaminación marina y preservar la biodiversidad. A través de la experiencia directa, los alumnos han tenido la oportunidad de conocer los

retos y las oportunidades en la gestión sostenible de los recursos marinos, fortaleciendo su formación integral y promoviendo vocaciones relacionadas con el sector.

Environmental education for the children in Sotogrande

CEIP Taraguilla took part in the 2025 Environmental Awareness Programme. The Navega Foundation and the Council of San Roque, aimed at promoting knowledge and protection of the marine environment.

Over the days that took place last week, pupils from the educational centre took part in outings and workshops designed to encourage environmental education in the field of recreational sailing.

The activity is part of a project that aims to involve the educational community in environmental conservation practices, raising awareness among students among the importance of preventing marine pollution and preserving biodiversity.

Through direct experience, students had the chance to discover the challenges and opportunities in sustainable management for marine resources, strengthening their overall education and promoting vocations relating to the sector.

The participation of students from CEIP Taraguilla strengthens the commitment of collaborating entities to promotion of sustainability and protection of the marine ecosystem, contributing to the education of new generations who are committed to the environment in the field of recreational sailing.

Hipospadias: la cirugía pediátrica que cambia la vida de los niños

El hipospadias es una malformación frecuente de nacimiento en la que la apertura de la uretra no está ubicada en el lugar que debería en el pene del niño.

El doctor Antonio Recober, jefe del servicio de Cirugía Pediátrica del Hospital Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar, es un referente en el tratamiento del hipospadias, una malformación congénita que condiciona la calidad de vida del niño que la padece. “El impacto del hipospadias en la vida de un niño puede variar. Algunos niños pueden experimentar dificultades para orinar de pie o pueden sentir vergüenza por la apariencia de su pene. Sin embargo, con un tratamiento adecuado, la mayoría de los niños con hipospadias pueden llevar una vida normal y saludable”, afirma el doctor Recober.

Esta patología se diagnostica en el momento del na-

cimiento del bebé y el tratamiento más extendido es “el de la cirugía, que se realiza generalmente entre los 9 y los 18 meses de edad. El objetivo del tratamiento quirúrgico es corregir la curvatura permitiendo que el pene tenga la capacidad futura de mantener relaciones sexuales; reconstruir la uretra para que la salida de la orina sea adecuada, con

un chorro miccional que el niño pueda dirigir, permitiéndole orinar de pie; y que el aspecto de los genitales sea lo más parecido posible a un pene circuncidado normal”

El servicio de Cirugía Pediátrica del Hospital Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar no sólo destaca en el tratamiento de hipospadias, sino que abarca un amplio espectro de subespeciali-

dades para atender diversas necesidades quirúrgicas, tanto en niños, como en niñas. Este enfoque multidisciplinar incluye: •Tratamiento quirúrgico de los genitales de niños y niñas, para la atención inmediata de recién nacidos con condiciones que requieren intervención quirúrgica urgente. Casos como el de la fimosis/circuncisión, hipospadias, criptorquidia, pene

Hypospadias: paediatric surgery that can change children’s lives

Hypospadias is a common birth malformation in which the urethra does not open from its usual location on the child’s penis.

Doctor Antonio Recober, head of the Paediatric Surgery service at Hospital Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar, is a leader for the treatment of hypospadias, a congenital malformation that affects the quality of life of the child suffering from it. “The impact of hypospadias on the life of a child can vary. Some children may experience difficulty urinating when standing up or they

may be embarrassed about the appearance of their penis. However, with appropriate treatment, most children with hypospadias can lead a normal and healthy life”, states doctor Recober.

This pathology is diagnosed at the birth of the baby and the most common treatment is “surgery, which is normally carried out between 9 and 18 months of age. The purpose of surgical treatment is to correct the bend enabling the penis to have the future capacity to have sexual relations; rebuild the urethra

so that the urine comes out appropriately, with a flow of urine that the child can direct, enabling them to urinate standing up; and making their genitals look as similar as possible to that of a normal circumcised penis.”

The Paediatric Surgery service at Hospital Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar not only stands out for the treatment of hypospadias, but it also encompasses a broad spectrum of subspecialities in order to address different surgical needs in both boys and girls. This multidisci-

plinary approach includes: -Surgical treatment of the genitalia of boys and girls, for immediate care of newborns with conditions requiring urgent surgical intervention. Cases such as phimosis/circumcision, hypospadias, cryptorchidism, buried penis: solutions for buried penis, congenital penile curvature or congenital megaprepuce, labia minora synechiae and pathology of the inguinal canal.

La Mancomunidad celebra el 40º aniversario con una gran cala para los Premios Comarcales

El Parque María Cristina de Algeciras ha acogido este viernes el acto de entrega de los X Premios Mancomunidad de Municipios del Campo de Gibraltar, coincidiendo con la celebración de los 40 años del ente comarcal. Entre los galardonados se encontraba, a título póstumo, el genial artista sanroqueño Andrés Vázquez de Sola, quien fue propuesto para este honor por el Ayuntamiento de San Roque.

Andrés Vázquez de Sola ha recibido este viernes, a título póstumo, uno de los X Premios Mancomunidad de Municipios del Campo de Gibraltar, un acto que ha tenido lugar en Algeciras. Juan Gómez Macías, gran amigo del fallecido artista sanroqueño, ha sido el encargado de recoger el galardón de manos del alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix.

El alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, fue el encargado de entregar el premio para Vázquez de Sola. Lo recogió Juan Gómez Macías, artista y gestor cultural que fue un gran amigo del dibujante sanroqueño galardonado por Mancomunidad. Antes de la entrega de premios, Ruiz Boix destacó que se cumplen 40 años de la creación de la Mancomunidad del Campo de Gibraltar, y dijo que estaba “satisfecho y contento” por la trayectoria de este organismo durante esas cuatro décadas en defensa de los intereses de la comarca. También apuntó que hay que seguir trabajando “por prestar a las familias campogibraltareñas unos servicios de calidad al menor precio posible”.

El alcalde dijo que Gómez Macías, por su trayectoria como gestor cultural y como pintor, se merece recibir también un galardón en una próxima edición de estos premios, pero que en esta ocasión participaba en ellos en representación de Vázquez de Sola. Recordó que el artista y periodista sanroqueño falleció el año pasado y que, en su día, fue elegido por sus compañeros de profesión como el mejor dibujante del siglo XX.

Además, dijo el primer edil, Vázquez de Sola recibió en 2013 la Medalla de Oro de Andalucía, y era Hijo Predilecto de

San Roque. Por ello, dijo que se sentía muy satisfecho de que “un sanroqueño insigne” sea ahora reconocido por la Mancomunidad del Campo de Gibraltar, e invitó a todos a disfrutar de su legado pictórico en el Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de San Roque, donde espera que pronto también pueda admirarse el legado del historietista Carlos Pacheco, otro sanroqueño insigne. Por su parte, Juan Gómez Macías dijo estar “profundamente conmovido”, ya que Vázquez de Sola fue su amigo desde que volvió del exilio, manteniendo con él, a pesar de que tenía la misma edad que su padre, “una relación de colegas artistas”. Recordó que tan sólo 24 horas antes de morir, recibió una llamada en la que el genial dibujante se despidió de él e intercambiaron bromas. Además, de por el alcalde, el Ayuntamiento de San Roque estuvo representado por varios ediles de la Corporación. Mancomunidad, por su parte, tuvo a su presidenta, Susana Pérez Custodio, como máxima representante. Entre los asistentes se contaron Blanca Flores, subdelegada del Gobierno de España en la provincia de Cádiz; Esperanza Pérez, coordinadora de la Administración General del Estado en la comarca; y el rector de la Universidad de Cádiz, Casimiro Mantell. Asimismo, estuvieron representantes de cada uno de los ocho ayuntamientos campogibraltareños, así como autoridades autonómicas y destacados representantes de la cultura, los sindicatos y la empresa de la comarca. En cuanto al resto de los galar-

donados, por San Martin del Tesorillo fue la Asociación de Madres de Gimnasia Rítmica de la localidad; por Jimena de la Frontera, Juan Gutiérrez, presidente de la Asociación de Corcheros y Arrieros de Andalucía, Acogan; por Castellar, de la Frontera, Francisco Mena, presidente de la Coordinadora Alternativas; por Los Barrios, la empresa Guadacorte SA; por Tarifa, la Academia Isamar; por La Línea de la Concepción, la Escuela de Magisterio Virgen de Europa; y por Algeciras, la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería. La Mención Especial, propuesta por la Mancomunidad de Municipios, fue para los trabajadores del ente mancomunado en el 40 aniversario de su constitución.

Andrés Vázquez de Sola falleció el 26 de septiembre de 2024. Fue nombrado Hijo Predilecto de la Ciudad de San Roque en 2015. El artista sanroqueño sufrió la censura en sus primeros años como caricaturista en varios periódicos españoles. Su ideología comunista hizo que tuviera que exiliarse en 1959, lo que propició que, tras unos duros inicios en París, se hiciera mundialmente famoso como dibujante satírico en medios de comunicación franceses. A la muerte de Franco volvió a España, y fue dejando de lado el periodismo para centrarse en la pintura.

Entre sus galardones, destacan los trofeos italiano y francés Palma d’Oro y Nasreddin Hoca, así como la presidencia de honor del Festival Internacional de la Caricatura, celebrado en Francia en 1994. Ha recibido un homenaje colectivo de sus

compañeros de profesión españoles, y fue investido doctor honoris causa por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Además de Hijo Predilecto de San Roque, en 2013 se le concedió la Medalla de Oro de la

Comunidad Autónoma.

La asociación cultural Producciones Coste Cero ha realizado un documental sobre Vázquez de Sola titulado “La ideología de los Lápices”, que se estrenó en marzo del año pasado con motivo de la inauguración del Centro de Arte Contemporáneo, que alberga el legado pictórico del artista sanroqueño. Dicha asociación cultural ha puesto también en marcha en Internet una campaña para que se le conceda, a título póstumo, la Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes, que distingue a las personas y entidades que hayan destacado en el campo de la creación artística y cultural o hayan prestado notorios servicios en el fomento, desarrollo o difusión del arte y la cultura o en la conservación del patrimonio artístico.

Mancomunidad celebrates 40th anniversary with a big cove for the Country Awards

This Friday, María Cristina Park in Algeciras hosted the presentation of the X Association of Municipalities of Campo de Gibraltar Awards, coinciding with the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the provincial entity. The winners included, posthumously, the fantastic San Roque artist Andrés Vázquez de Sola, who was suggested for this honour by the Council of San Roque.

This Friday, Andrés Vázquez de Sola was posthumously awarded one of the X Association of Municipalities of Campo de Gibraltar Awards, an event that took place in Algeciras. Juan Gómez Macías, a great friend of the deceased San Roque artist, collected the award from the mayor, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix. The mayor, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, presented the award for

Vázquez de Sola. It was collected by Juan Gómez Macías, an artist and cultural manager who was a great friend of the San Roque artist who was distinguished by the Association of Municipalities.

Before the awards ceremony, Ruiz Boix highlighted that this is the 40th anniversary of the creation of the Association of Municipalities of Campo de Gibraltar, and he said that he was “satisfied and happy” with the trajectory of this entity over those four decades defending the interests of the province. He also stated that it is necessary to continue to work to “provide the families of Campo de Gibraltar with quality services at the lowest possible price.”

The major said that Gómez Macías, thanks to his trajectory as a cultural manager and as a

painter, also deserves to receive an award in a future edition of these awards, but that on this occasion he was solely here on behalf of Vázquez de Sola. He recalled that the San Roque artist and journalist who passed away last year was once named the best cartoonist of the 20th century by his fellow colleagues.

Also, the mayor recalled that Vázquez de Sola received the Gold Medal of Andalusia in 2013 and was a Favourite Son of San Roque. Therefore, he said that he was very satisfied that “an illustrious San Roque local” is now being recognised by the Association of Municipalities of Campo de Gibraltar, and he invited everyone to enjoy his artistic legacy at the Contemporary Art Centre of San Roque, where he expects that soon it will also be possible to admire the legacy of the comic artist Carlos Pacheco, another illustrious San Roque native.

In turn, Juan Gómez Macías said that he was “deeply moved” as Vázquez de Sola had been his friend since he returned from exile, and despite the fact that he was the same age as his father he has maintained “a relationship of artistic peers” with him/ He recalled that just 24 hours before he died, he recei-

ved a call in which the fantastic artist bid farewell to him and they exchanged jokes. In addition to the mayor, the Council of San Roque was represented by several councillors from the Corporation. In turn, the leading representative of the Association of Municipalities was its president Susana Pérez Custodio. Among those in attendance were Blanca Flores, the sub-delegate of the Government of Spain in the province of Cadiz; Esperanza Pérez, coordinator of the General Administration of the State in the province; and the rector of the University of Cádiz, Casimiro Mantell. Likewise, there were representatives from the eight councils of Campo de Gibraltar, as well as regional authorities, and prominent cultural representatives, trade unionists and business people from the province.

As for the other winners, in San Martin del Tesorillo it was the town’s Association of Mothers of Rhythmic Gymnastics; in Jimena de la Frontera, it was Juan Gutiérrez, president of the Association of Cork Workers and Muleteers of Andalusia, Acogan; in Castellar de la Frontera, Francisco Mena, president of Coordinadora Alternativas; in Los Barrios, the company Gua-

dacorte SA; in Tarifa, Academia Isamar; in La Línea de la Concepción, the Virgen de Europa Teaching School; and in Algeciras, the Higher Technical School of Engineering. The Special Mention, as proposed by the Association of Municipalities, went to the workers of the collective institution on the 40th anniversary of its establishment. Andrés Vázquez de Sola passed away on 26 September 2024. He was named a Favourite Son of the City of San Roque in 2015. The San Roque artist suffered censorship in his early years as a cartoonist in several Spanish newspapers. His communist ideology meant that he had to go into exile in 1959, which helped him, after a tough start in Paris, to become globally famous as a satirical artist in the French media. He returned to Spain after Franco’s death and gradually left behind journalism to focus on painting. His awards notably include the Italian and French Palma d’Oro and Nasreddin Hoca trophies, as well as the presidency of honour of the International Cartoon Festival held in France in 1994. He received a collective tribute from this Spanish colleagues and was named doctor honoris causa by the Autonomous University of Madrid. In addition to being a Favourite Son of San Roque, in 2013 he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Autonomous Community. The cultural association Producciones Coste Cero produced a documentary about Vázquez de Sola entitled “La ideología de los Lápices” (Ideology of the Pencils) which was released in March last year to mark the opening of the Contemporary Art Centre, which houses the artistic legacy of the San Roque artist.

This cultural association has also launched an internet campaign for him to posthumously awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts, which distinguishes people and entities who have stood out in the field of artistic and cultural creation or have provided remarkable services to the encouragement, development, and promotion of art and culture, or the preservation of artistic heritage.

La celebración del Día de Andalucía y el carnaval, grandes protagonistas de agenda social en los próximas semanas

San Roque y sus diferentes barriadas, especialmente con la lupa en el Valle del Guadiaro, se preparan para unas semanas de intensa actividad y eventos que festejar en este primer trimestre del año. El tradicional Día de Andalucía o la llegada del Carnaval copa el protagonismo y los focos de este tramo final del mes de febrero e inicio de marzo. Todo ello con el impulso del Ayuntamiento de San Roque y sus diferentes delegaciones que trabajan y están dando a conocer los diferentes planes y acciones para estas señaladas fechas en la ciudad.

Día de Andalucía en San Roque

El próximo viernes, 28 de febrero, son muchos los actos y citas agendadas para festejar el Día de Andalucía, una de las fechas más marcadas en el calendario y de gran gran tradición y auge todo el municipio. Un agenda que comenzará,

como cada año, con el izado de la bandera en la Alameda, en San Roque Casco. Una cita protocolaria y que cada año está marcada simbolismo y referencias autonómicas verdiblancas.

Al poner el foco en el Valle del Guadiaro, se divide en dos puntos clave los actos programadas, como son San Enrique de Guadiaro y Torreguadiaro, principalmente como actores principales de la jornadas.

En San Enrique, en plaza, está prevista la celebración de diferentes actividades y encuentros para la convivencia en una jornada tan clásica de fraternidad en la barriada. Por otro lado, en Torreguadiaro, también está planificada la tradicional convivencia, con una paella en la mesa, en La Charca; otra de las citas más habituales en el día de todos los andaluces. En los próximos días también se avanzarán nuevas actividades y talleres en estos y otros puntos

del municipio, por parte del Ayuntamiento de San Roque.

Carnaval en el Valle del Guadiaro

Como es tradicional, el carnaval llega a la zona con epicentro en la zona de Guadiaro y de su recinto ferial. Fechado para los próximos 8 y 9 de marzo, todo el Valle del Guadiaro ya se prepara para un fin de semana en el que papelillos, disfraces, coplas, actividades y citas giran en torno al reino de Don Carnal.

Según la agenda, a la que se irán añadiendo poco a poco más actividades, la principal concentración de actos se reúne en el 8 y 9 de marzo. Es el mismo sábado, día 8, cuando se lleva a cabo la tradicional cabalgata por diferentes calles de Guadiaro hasta desembocar en el recinto ferial, lugar en el que se encontrara dispuesta la carpa dónde acoger las diferentes

actividades para todo el fin de semana. Ése mismos sábado se llevará a cabo el tradicional concurso de disfraces, en la tarde noche al término de la cabalgata y con música hasta que dure la fiesta. La jornada del domingo se reserva para actuaciones de grupos en directo, comidas y buen ambiente carnavalero en Guadiaro.

Next Friday, 28 February, there are many events and appointments scheduled to celebrate the Day of Andalusia, one of the most important dates on the calendar and of great tradition and boom throughout the municipality. It is on Saturday, the 8th, when the traditional parade takes place through the different streets of Guadiaro until it reaches the fairgrounds, where the marquee will be set up to host the different activities for the whole weekend. That same Saturday, the traditional fancy dress competition will take place, in the evening at the end of the parade and with music until the end of the party. Sunday is reserved for live band performances, food and a good carnival atmosphere in Guadiaro.

Mayo verá una única parada en Corea del Sur, del 2 al 4, mientras que junio será un mes ajetreado con dos eventos en Estados Unidos; primero en Washington D.C. del 5 al 8, seguido de una parada en Dallas del 27 al 29. Estos eventos en el corazón de América prometen atraer a una gran cantidad de seguidores y ofrecer un espectáculo de primer nivel.

Uno de los momentos más esperados del calendario será en julio, cuando el LIV Golf regresa a Valderrama, España, del 11 al 13. El Campeonato de Madrid Absoluto Masculino 2025 concluyó con un rotundo éxito en las instalaciones de Golf Santander, en Boadilla del Monte, Madrid, y con la coronación de Gonzalo Baños como nuevo campeón. El golfista local de la Escuela Nacional Blume, gran protagonista de la segunda jornada al firmar una magnífica tarjeta de 65 golpes (-7), el mejor resultado del campeonato, partió esta tercera y última ronda en segunda posición, a un solo golpe del líder, Pablo Redondo, pero supo aprovechar sus opciones.

Gonzalo Baños certificó su triunfo con un emocionante birdie en el último hoyo, para una tarjeta de 72 golpes, al par del campo.

The 2025 Madrid Men’s Championship ended with resounding success at the facilities of Golf Santander, in Boadilla del Monte, Madrid, and with the crowing of Gonzalo Baños as the new champion.

The local golfer from the Blume National School, the big star of the second day after a magnificent card of 65 shots (-7), the best result of the championship, started the third and final round in second place, a single shot off the leader, Pablo Redondo, but he was also to seize his chances.

Gonzalo Baños sealed victory with an exciting birdie on the last hole, for a card of 72 shots, the course par.

Behind Gonzalo Baños were Jan Farré from the Balearic Islands and Jorge Martín from Madrid, who shared second place a single shot off the player from Cadiz.

La 40º edición de la Snow Polo World Cup de St. Mortiz dejó imágenes para la historia y el recuerdo. En esta edición tan especial del cuarenta aniversario, The Kusnacht Practice se llevó el triunfo en la Snow Polo World Cup Thropy 2025. El conjunto formado por Eduardo Gregui, Francisco Belaustegui, Chris Mackenzie e Isidro Strada se impuso en la gran final por un ajustadísimo 5 - 4,5 al equipo de Azerbaiyán – Land on fire, quién no pudo repetir los triunfos cosechados en 2021 y

2022. Durante todo el duelo el marcador estuvo ajustado, con menos de un gol de diferencia en la sucesión de chukkers hasta caer la victoria, con un gran Mackenzie, para Kusnacht Practice. Nombrar como efeméride que el trofeo se lo entregó al capitán de Kusnacht Practice, Eduardo Greghi, nada menos que Anita Mathis, un gesto con mucho simbolismo ya que fue la misma persona la encargada de hacer lo mismo en la primera edición de 1985. Previo a la gran final, se dis-

putó la subsidiaria por el Trofeo Mackage entre Flexjet y World Polo League. El público disfrutó de un gran encuentro y de la victoria del segundo, capitaneado por Melissa Ganzi, quién fuera la primera mujer en ganar la World Cup en el año 2019. Victoria para José Rico en el I Trofeo Noll Sotogrande de DF65

• Sólo la embarcación de Noll Sotogrande pudo ponérselo difícil a José Rico, que sigue imbatible.

La emoción y la estrategia marcaron la primera edición del Trofeo Noll Sotogrande, una regata que puso a prueba la habilidad de la flota DF65 en un día donde los vientos suaves e inestables obligaron a posponer la primera manga durante 30 minutos. Sin embargo, una vez que el viento se estableció y se ajustó el recorrido, los regatistas se lanzaron a la competición con intensidad.

Desde las primeras mangas,

la flota mostró un gran nivel de competitividad, definiéndose en dos grupos diferenciados tras el paso por la boya de barlovento. En el grupo de cabeza, la lucha se centró entre José Rico y Arnaldo Brito, patrón de la embarcación Noll Sotogrande, quienes se disputaron el liderato con gran destreza. Siguiendo de cerca cada maniobra y esperando el momento oportuno para atacar, Guillermo Puche se mantuvo expectante, listo para

aprovechar cualquier error. Tras 12 intensas mangas, el podio quedó conformado de la siguiente manera:

• José Rico reafirmó su dominio y se llevó la victoria.

• Arnaldo Brito, a bordo de Noll Sotogrande, logró un meritorio segundo puesto tras una destacada actuación.

• Guillermo Puche completó el podio en tercera posición, demostrando gran consistencia a lo largo de la jornada.

Mención especial para Anto-

nio Ballesteros, quien, a pesar de varios percances en el agua, supo mantenerse en la pelea y consiguió una destacada cuarta posición, dominando la tabla media de la flota.

Victory for José Rico in I Noll Sotogrande DF65 Trophy

• Only the vessel of Noll Sotogrande was able to make things difficult for José Rico, which remains unbeatable.

Excitement and strategy defined the first edition of the Noll Sotogrande Trophy, a race that tested the skill of the DF65 fleet on a day when the gentle and unstable winds made it necessary to postpone the first heat for 30 minutes. However, once the wind got going and the course was adjusted, the racers dived into competition with intensity.

From the early heats on, the fleet displayed a great level of competitiveness, with two different groups defined after passing the windward buoy. In the leading group, the battle focused on José Rico and Arnaldo Brito, skipper of the Noll Sotogrande vessel, who competed for the lead with great skill. Closely following every manoeuvre, and waiting for the right time to attack, Guillermo Puche continued to lurk, ready to take advantage of any mistakes.

After 12 intense heats, the podium looked as follows:

• José Rico reaffirmed his dominance and took victory.

• Arnaldo Brito, on board Noll Sotogrande, achieved a well-de-

served second place after an outstanding performance.

•Guillermo Puche completed the podium in third place, showing great consistency throughout the day.

A special mention goes to Antonio Ballesteros, who despite several mishaps in the water, was able to remain in the fight and achieved a notable fourth place, dominating the middle section of the fleet.
