Cuando el año prácticamente cuenta ya los días que le restan y no los que suma, desde el punto de vista político y empresarial, hace ya algunas semanas que a modo inverso acaban de iniciar su particular curso. Es en este tiempo en el que las entidades e instituciones, públicas y privadas, ponen en marcha diferentes proyectos y estrategias de desarrollo cara al próximo curso. Un ejercicio que no será igual a los que hemos conocido, ni mucho menos parecido. La cuestión que atañe al mercado británico, una de las comunidades de mayor peso en Sotogrande, se mantiene a la expectativa de su futura desconexión con la Unión Europea y con ella un cierto periodo de incertidumbre ante una merca de inversión en la zona. Queda más que patente que todos aquellos que sepan y logren adaptarse a nuevos tiempos y contextos, que se sumen a los cambios de escenario internacional y canalicen su producto mostrándose como los más atractivos lograrán superar las barreras que efectos externos puedan colocar en su crecimiento y desarrollo. Por manida y rancia que parezca, la frase que relaciona los tiempos convulsos con el de las nuevas oportunidades no deja de ser cierta y ante estos nuevos escenarios, paradigmas de cambios, hay que aterrizar bien y adaptarse. Esa es la clave del éxito y unidos más.

Los empresarios de Sotogrande se alinean para soportar los efectos del ‘Brexit’ No cabe duda que hay un tema que nos acapara la atención de todos en los últimos meses, hablar del Brexit es sinónimo de múltiples apreciaciones e interpretaciones, pasa lo mismo que cuando se puso en boca de todos la famosa prima de riesgo. Hasta resultó una excelente terapia, si cabe la expresión, ya que las grandes empresas españolas, ante la caída del negocio del ladrillo, hicieron las maletas y hoy en día gozan de un gran prestigio a nivel mundial, desarrollando grandes obras de máxima envergadura en países como Australia, USA, Reino Unido, Emiratos Árabes, Canadá y en otras grandes potencias, generando una balanza favorable de importación de riquezas para el país.

Sí, efectivamente, Reino Unido, decidió emprender su salida de Europa y las consecuencias serán, previsiblemente, bastante duras y debemos ser conscientes, y en especial aún más por la proximidad con Gibraltar, que de algún modo también se verá afectada. Aunque como bien decía el profesor y experto en Derecho Internacional, Jesús Verdú, durante su exposición en el Foro Empresarial de Sotogrande que organizó esta casa, la interpretación del renombrado articulo 50 por el cual se debe aplicar la salida de Gran Bretaña de Europa, no es tan definido como parece, y en palabras del señor Verdú, Gibraltar, por lo singular de su marco jurídico, no tendría que afrontar necesariamente las mismas condiciones que Reino Unido en el nuevo paradigma de relaciones entre UK y UE. Por lo cual, lo que realmente cabe es buscar salidas beneficiosas para ambas comunidades, y esto desde la visión del mundo empresarial y de la ciudadanía puede tener mas sentido que la meramente política, la cual no deja de ser enrevesada. Por destacar, la mencionada AECT, Agrupación Europea de Cooperación Territorial y en la que esta trabajando el Grupo Transfronterizo como una excelente oportunidad para toda la zona y que entrañaría un modelo de gestión auspiciado por los Fondos Europeos, una formula que se ha llevado a cabo en otros territorios fronterizos similares con gran éxito. Además, blindaría las relaciones de uno y otro lado de la verja ante las futuras consecuencias del Brexit.

En lo que respecta a Sotogrande, en el foro se comenzó a dilucidar un futuro a corto plazo en que los agentes económicos tendrán que enfrentarse en un nuevo escenario internacional y con reglamentos diferentes. Sin duda, al mismo, un escenario que brindará una gran ventana de oportunidades y posibilidades de negocio con nuevos mercados, por supuesto sin dejar un lado el gran peso con el que cuenta la comunidad británica en nuestro entorno. Sotogrande, como destino residencial y turístico, cuenta con un elenco de valores, atractivos y una imagen internacional que son lo suficientemente fuertes como para seguir despertando el interés de un mercado, cada vez más amplio, que pone la vista en este rincón, dónde el estilo de vida, la exclusividad y el lujo toman un carácter difícil de igualar en todo el continente. Seguir potenciando y dando saltos cualitativos en la oferta de Sotogrande motivará la llegada de inversiones y negocio a la zona, independientemente de su procedencia.

Por la parte que le compete a esta casa, Grupo HCP, estrechamente implicada y expectante con cada nuevo proyecto y desarrollo en la toda la zona, agradecer la presencia de los asistentes y la más que interesante jornada de trabajo que supuso el Foro Empresarial para conocer hacia dónde vamos y las principales inquietudes del tejido empresarial en Sotogrande.

Business people in Sotogrande align in order to support the effects of Brexit There is no doubt that there is one issue that has monopolised the attention of everyone over the last few months.

Talking about Brexit is synonymous with multiple opinions and interpretation, the same thing is happening as when everyone was talking about the famous risk premium. That threat of a recovery and the fact that risk shot up in Spain as a result of the suffocating crisis but us in a state of alert and we were able to recover. It even ended up being excellent therapy, if I can use that term, as the large Spanish companies, faced with the collapse of the brick industry, packed their bags and today they enjoy great prestige worldwide, developing massive construction work in countries such as Australia, USA, United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Canada and in other large powers, generating a favourable importation balance of wealth for the country.

Although, as Jesús Verdú the professor and expert in International Law outlined well during his speech at the Sotogrande Business Forum that this group

organised, the interpretation of the well-known Article 50 through which the UK´s departure from Europe must be applied though, it is not as defined as it seems, and in the words of Mr Verdú, Gibraltar, given the uniqueness of its legal framework, it would not necessarily have to tackle the same conditions of the United Kingdom in the paradigm of relationships between the UK and the EU. Consequently, what we really need to do is to find beneficial outcomes for both communities, and doing so from the vision of the business world and citizens can have more sense than merely a political one, which is very entangled in the matter. It is worth highlighting the European Grouping for Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) that the Cross-border Group is working on as an excellent opportunity for all the area and which would entail a management model with support from the European Funds, a formula that has been carried out in other similar border areas with great success. Furthermore, it would protect relations on either side of the fence from future consequences of Brexit.

With regard to Sotogrande, the forum began to shed light on a short term future where economic agents would have to face a new international scenario, and one with

different regulations. Undoubtedly, at the same time, this is a scenario that will provide a great window of opportunity and business possibilities with new markets, without of course forgetting about the great influence that the British community has in our area. Sotogrande, as a residential and tourism destination, has a wide range of values, attractions and international image that is sufficiently strong to continue to generate interest, in an increasingly large market, that looks to this area, where lifestyle, exclusivity and luxury have a character that is difficult to equal anywhere on the continent. Continuing to strengthen and take qualitative leaps in the range Sotogrande offers will lead to more investments and business in the area, regardless of where it comes from.

In terms of the role played by this house, Grupo HCP is closely involved and expectant with every new project and development in the entire area. We would like to thank everyone that attended the very interesting day of work at the Business Forum, which helped us to find out where we are heading and the main concerns of the business community in Sotogrande.

El turismo británico es el más importante en el municipio a nivel estadístico

Los atractivos y valores de la zona, San Roque y Sotogrande, muy presentes en uno de los grandes eventos turísticos internacinoales. El alcalde de San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, coincidió con la presidenta de la Junta de Andalucía, Susana Diaz, en la importancia de esta zona en el Turismo en Andalucía. Ambos mandatarios acudieron a Feria Internacional de Turismo de Londres (World Travel Market), que se celebra esta semana.

Ruiz Boix se trasladó a Londres para mostrar su apoyo a las empresas turísticas de San Roque, presentes en la Feria bajo el paraguas del Ayuntamiento, la Diputación de Cádiz y de la Junta de Andalucía. Las encuestas señalan claramente que el turismo británico es el más importante en San Roque, seguido de lejos por otros paises europeos.

Por ello, el alcalde ha querido trasladarse a Londres para mostrar así su “decisivo apoyo al mundo del turismo en nuestra ciudad, tanto en lo que a turismo residencial se refiere, como al turismo deportivo, caso de polo, vela, pero sobre todo golf, que practican un buen numero de británicos de vacaciones en los excelentes campos sanroqueños”.

Susana Diaz, ante el stand sanroqueño, acompañada por el consejero de Turismo, Francisco Javier Fernández, destacó la importancia de que desde los ayuntamientos se apoye al sector turístico, como hace San Roque, que además es una bandera del turismo de calidad y del turismo deportivo en Andalucía. Además, el Ejecutivo andaluz trabaja ya en la búsqueda de soluciones a los posibles problemas que genere el Brexit, a pesar de que

los resultados del referéndum de salida del Reino Unido de la Unión Europea “no han alterado los registros turísticos” de la comunidad hasta ahora, y que, de hecho, desde que se celebró la consulta “las estancias hoteleras de viajeros procedentes de este mercado han aumentado un 16% en Andalucía”.

La provincia de Cádiz dispone de un espacio propio dentro del expositor de Andalucía, gestionado por Turismo Andaluz, en el que da a conocer su oferta a los más de 5.000 profesionales que se darán cita en el Excel Exhibition Center, sede la de la feria.

La World Travel Market de Londres está la considerada feria más grande del sector junto a la ITB de Berlín y Fitur de Madrid, y es por tanto uno de los eventos más importantes de la industria turística a nivel mundial.

Ruiz Boix travelled to London to show his support for San Roque´s tourism companies, present at the Fair, under the umbrella of the Council, the Provincial Council of Cadiz and the Regional Government of Andalusia. Surveys clearly show that British tourism is the most important in San Roque, with that of other European countries trailing far behind.

Consequently, the mayor wanted to travel to London to thus show his “decisive support for the world of tourism in our city, both in terms of residential tourism, as well as sports tourism, the case with polo, sailing, and above all, golf, played by a large number of British holidaymakers at the excellent courses in San Roque”.

Susana Diaz, in front of the San Roque stand, accompanied by the Tourism councillor, Francisco Javier Fernández, highlighted the importance of the councillors supporting the tourism sector, as San Roque does, which is also a flagbearer for quality tourism and sports tourism in Andalusia.

Also, the Andalusian executive is already working to look for solutions to the possible problems created by Brexit, despite the fact that the results of the referendum for the UK to leave the European Union “has not altered the tourism figures” of the community up until now. El Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE) publicó los datos de los alojamientos hoteleros correspondientes al mes de septiembre, con lo que ya está completa la radiografía del verano en términos hoteleros. En concreto, entre julio y septiembre los hoteles de la provincia han recibido 932.113 viajeros, por los 885.095 de los tres mismos meses de 2015.

Las pernoctaciones registradas entre julio y septiembre de 2016 (3.343.192), superan a las contabilizadas en los primeros seis meses de este año (2.895.793). La mejor noticia es el acumulado del año, es decir los datos registrados entre enero y septiembre, que son los que mejor reflejan la situación actual, al ser comparados con el mismo periodo de 2015. Construction of home for eldery people in Sotogrande, being studied Investment fund holds meeting with Council about prospect of putting a centre on a plot of land close to Sotogrande International School The representatives of an investment fund, that is weighing up the possibility of putting a home for elderly people in Sotogrande, held a meeting with the mayor of San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix in order to assess the different possible alternatives. The Council offered them a plot of land next to the International School, where a similar project was proposed some years ago, however it was unable to come to fruition due to the crisis.

The mayor offered this explanation: “This investment fund is studying the prospect of building on a plot owned by the municipality, which is considered as social infrastructure, and located in the area around Sotogrande Inter-

national School. In fact, a few years again the Council carried out an administrative granting of the plot for this purpose, although ultimately it was not possible for the project to go ahead, I understand, because of the financial crisis”.

Las oficinas de la E.U.C, situadas en el Centro Comercial Mar y Sol, han podido centralizarse en un mismo local integrando así todas las áreas de trabajo.

Este proceso, deseado desde hace años, se ha podido culminar manteniendo el mismo esquema de costes.

Las antiguas oficinas donde se ubicaba el personal técnico serán utilizadas por la empresa PROSEGUR al haber alcanzado un acuerdo con los dueños de dicho local, manteniendo así un servicio integral en todo lo relacionado a la urbanización.

La Consejería de Salud y el 061 reconocieron a cuatro nuevas entidades de la provincia con el distintivo de ‘zona cardioasegurada’, entre ellos al Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, al solicitan y cumplen con los requisitos en materia formativa e instalación de desfibriladores externos semiautomáticos. El delegado territorial de Igualdad, Salud y Políticas Sociales de la Junta de Andalucía en Cádiz, Manuel Herrera, entregó a los representantes de estas instituciones el distintivo de ‘zona cardioasegurada’, acompañado del director del servicio de emergencias sa-

equipos de emergencias sanitarias, con los objetivos de disminuir la mortalidad y secuelas a través de una excelente actuación inicial. En el caso de Real Club de Golf Sotogrande dispone de esta dotación tanto en la Casa Club como en el Hoyo 9);.

Todo lo que necesitas saber sobre los Impuestos de No Residente en España El 31 de Diciembre es el plazo límite para la presentación del Impuesto de la Renta de no Residente, por lo que nos gustaría recordarle que, si usted es no residente en España (vive en España menos de 183 días al año y no tiene el núcleo principal o la base de sus actividades o intereses económicos en España) y posee algún inmueble urbano situado en territorio español, debe tributar por dicho inmueble en el Impuesto sobre la Renta de no Residente, de la siguiente manera: 1. Si usted es un no residente sin establecimiento permanente en España y su inmueble se encuentra arrendado a un tercero, el rendimiento a declarar será el importe íntegro percibido. No obstante, cuando se trate de contribuyentes ( Personas Físicas ó Jurídicas) residentes en otro Estado miembro de la Unión Europea, Noruega o Islandia, se podrán deducir ciertos gastos previstos en la ley del IRPF (p.ej.

seguros, gastos de conservación, etc.), siempre que se acredite que están directamente relacionados con los rendimientos generados por la propiedad.

2. All you need to know about Non-Resident Taxes in Spain As the deadline for the filing of non-resident tax declarations approaches (December 31st), we would like to remind you that, if you are a non-resident of Spain (you live in Spain less than 183 days a year and do not have the centre of your economic or vital interests in Spain) and own a property in Spain, you are liable to Spanish Non-Resident Income Tax arising as a result of your ownership of the property, as follows: 1. 2. Where the Spanish property is not rented to a third party and is occupied or available for use and occupation by the owner, the amount liable to taxation in the case of an individual person will be the deemed rental income attributable to the property, which is normally calculated as 1.1 % of the rateable value (“valor catastral”) of the property (assuming the rateable value has been reviewed within the last 10 years) or 2 % of the rateable value, if such review has not taken place. Note that where the property is owned by a corporate entity and is available for the use

and occupation of the owner, “connected party” rules may apply and the corporate entity held liable for the deemed market rental income attributable to the property.

The applicable tax rate for taxpayers from the EU, Norway and Iceland for the tax year 2015 has been reduced to 19.5 % and will be reduced to 19 % for the tax year 2016. For all other taxpayers, the tax rate will be 24 % for both tax years (in lieu of 24.75 % applicable until 2014 in all cases).

En primer lugar, bienvenido a Sotogrande. ¿Cómo surge su llegada y qué referencias tenía?

Llevo más de quince años dedicándome a la industria del golf de excelencia en diferentes resorts europeos de lujo, así que ya conocía de sobra Sotogrande, un destino residencial y de ocio muy relevante. Profesionalmente, siempre lo he visto como una referencia de nivel internacional. Por ello, cuando se presentó la oportunidad de trabajar aquí de la mano de Marc Topiol, el CEO de Sotogrande S.A., no me lo pensé dos veces y decidí embarcarme en el proyecto de consolidar y fortalecer Sotogrande como gran destino, así que estoy implicado en prácticamente todas las áreas de Sotogrande en materia de gestión. ¿Con qué objetivo afronta este nuevo proyecto?

Principalmente, con el reto de consolidar la posición de Sotogrande en el gran escenario internacional como un destino único y privilegiado vinculado al mercado del lujo. Es primordial garantizar que contamos con un producto del más alto nivel y que los servicios que ofrecemos en Sotogrande responden en todos sus aspectos a esa posición de mercado.

Mostrar que Sotogrande es mucho más que golf… ¡Por supuesto! Sotogrande alberga cinco campos de golf de clase mundial –tres de los mejores de España- pero como destino para cualquier época del año ofrece

también competiciones de polo de alto hándicap internacional, paseos a caballo por sus senderos y campos en un área protegida, navegación y campeonatos mundiales de vela, una gran cantidad de deportes náuticos, un excelente estilo de vida para las familias e individuos en un entorno seguro y protegido, una de las más destacadas escuelas internacionales de España, esquí en Sierra Nevada y numerosos eventos en torno a la célebre gastronomía local, los deportes y el bienestar.

Para nosotros, los eventos son algo consustancial al desarrollo de un destino atractivo y lleno de vida.

En los últimos años, este aspecto se ha ido perfeccionando con la celebración y acogida de importantes citas internacionales. Solo en esta última temporada hemos acogido destacadas competiciones de vela como el GC32, una competición de catamaranes de alta velocidad, seguida muy de cerca por medios de todo el mundo; las regatas J80 y RC44; el 45 º Torneo Internacional de Polo; también se han celebrado numerosos eventos locales de deporte y gastronomía, principalmente en las zonas de La Reserva y en El Mercado de Levante.

Este es uno de los capítulos que más estamos desarrollando. Estamos erigiendo Sotogrande como punto de referencia, demostrando que en un solo destino es posible experimentar lo mejor del polo, los deportes náuticos, la vida familiar, el golf, la hípica, la vela y mucho

más. Debemos lograr que todo lo que hagamos tenga una gran repercusión y que todo lo que estamos trabajando juntos contribuya a fortalecer esta visión. ¿Esa estrategia de futuro mira especialmente hacia La Reserva?

La estrategia abarca el concepto general de Sotogrande como destino.

La Reserva es un área de enorme calidad y lujo, con un perfil exclusivo y extraordinario que pretende conjugar todos los aspectos singulares de Sotogrande. La Reserva mejorará aún más la experiencia de Sotogrande en términos de ubicación, gastronomía, oferta de ocio y compromiso de servicio. Para que la experiencia sea inmejorable es esencial fortalecer esa apuesta común, trabajando estrechamente con nuestros socios y con el resto de instituciones de la zona. ¿Veremos un Sotogrande diferente en 2017?

En muy poco tiempo van a suceder muchas cosas alrededor de Sotogrande en términos de equipamientos para golf, tenis y la creación de un nuevo Club de Campo, así como los proyectos que vamos a poner en marcha en La Marina. Nuestro objetivo es continuar generando en Sotogrande un destino para todo el año, y convertirlo en un destino aún más atractivo para visitar y para vivir. ¿La Marina será uno de los principales focos de esa actividad? ¿El reto es conseguir que se extienda durante los doce meses del año?

Los periodos punta en la Marina

son la Navidad, la Semana Santa, el verano y el otoño completos.

Por supuesto los visitantes tienen mucha variedad de lugares donde ir durante esas épocas, así que parte de nuestro trabajo está centrada en hacer esas etapas aún más irresistibles. Incluso vamos más allá, consolidando que el Mercado de Levante sea, en sí mismo, un destino para todo el año.

Los residentes y la comunidad afincada en Sotogrande son una prioridad, y garantizar que nuestra comunidad puede disfrutar de experiencias durante todo el año es uno de nuestros principales objetivos.

Nuestro compromiso y estrategia es avanzar el trabajo de los últimos años y consolidar y mejorar continuamente la experiencia general. ¿Para el Club de Golf La Reserva también guarda grandes planes?

Nuestro propósito para La Reserva es que sea considerada uno de los más selectos clubes y campos de golf del sur de Europa, ofrecer una amplia gama de experiencias que combinen la salud y el bienestar, la tranquilidad y el reposo con el golf, los deportes acuáticos, la vida en comunidad y mucho más.

Lo estimulante de trabajar con Manuel Piñero es que puede transmitir toda su veteranía y conocimiento a un grupo exclusivo de jóvenes y experimentados jugadores con resultados muy positivos.

Nuestra perspectiva general es la calidad más que la cantidad, no obstante estamos también incorporando a nuevos miembros en la Academia de la Almenara.

En definitiva, queremos realzar hasta el más mínimo detalle de un producto sofisticado que representa la esencia de la vida en Sotogrande.

Todo ello irá acompañado del desarrollo urbanístico en La Reserva…

De hecho ambas cosas irán de la mano. Por lo tanto, nuestra prioridad es asegurar que se superen las expectativas de nuestros residentes y visitantes, que descubran la forma de vida tan exclusiva y única que Sotogrande ofrece. Queremos que se sientan como en casa y disfruten de los beneficios de un destino del más alto nivel.

Está confirmado el regreso de la competición de la Copa de vela Sotogrande RC44, y estamos trabajando en una emocionante programación de eventos de golf y otros acontecimientos importantes de nivel e interés internacional.

Sobre todo nos gustaría, en este contexto, que las comunidades de aquí y la de todo el entorno se involucrasen con su participación y compromiso.

Firstly, welcome to Sotogrande.

How did you end up coming here and what references for the area did you have?

I have spent more than fifteen years working in the high-end golf industry in various luxurious European resorts, therefore I was already well aware of Sotogrande, the illustrious real estate and leisure destination. Professionally, I always saw it as an international benchmark. Therefore, when the opportunity arose to work here through Marc Topiol, CEO Sotogrande S.A., I did not think twice; I decided to get on board with the project to consolidate and strengthen Sotogrande and its position as a major destination, so I am involved in practically all aspects of Sotogrande in terms of management.

What is the objective as you approach this new project?

First and foremost, the aim is to reinforce Sotogrande’s position on the big international stage as a unique and illustrious destination for the international luxury market. It is crucial to ensure that we have a product of the highest echelon and that the services we provide in Sotogrande align in every aspect with that market position.

You want to show that Sotogrande is about much more than golf…

Of course! Sotogrande is home

to five world-class golf courses – three of Spain’s best - but as a year-round destination it offers exemplary high-goal international polo, horse riding through its trails and thousands of acres of neighbouring nature reserves, sailing and sailing world championships, a plenitude of watersports, an excellent lifestyle for families and individuals in a safe and secure environment, one of Spain’s leading international schools, skiing in the Sierra Nevada and numerous events revolving around celebrating local gastronomy, sports and wellbeing.

For us, events are integral to the development of a lively and compelling destination. Over the last few years, this element has been refined with the creation and hosting of important international events. In the last season alone we hosted major sailing tournaments including the GC32 high-speed catamaran race closely watched by the world’s international media; the J80 and RC44 sailing races; the 45th international polo World Tournament attracting the world’s best players; as well as numerous local sporting and gastronomic events taking place particularly at La Reserva and at El Mercado de Levante.

This is one of the strands we are developing even further. We are

establishing that Sotogrande as a benchmark, demonstrating that in one destination it is possible to experience the best in terms of polo, watersports, family life, golf, equestrianism, sailing, and lots more. We are ensuring that everything we do has real impact and, to achieve that we are working together strongly to develop this vision.

That future strategy is especially aimed at La Reserva?

The strategy encompasses the overall concept of Sotogrande as a destination. La Reserva is an area of enormous quality and luxury, with an exclusive and extraordinary profile that aims to bring together all of Sotogrande’s unique aspects.

La Reserva will further enhance the Sotogrande experience in terms of location, gastronomy, leisure offering and commitment to service. It is essential to strengthen that shared commitment for an unbeatable experience, working closely with our partners and other institutions in the area.

Will we see a different Sotogrande in 2017?

There are a lot of changes taking place within a fairly short timeframe in terms of facilities for golf, tennis and the creation of a new Country Club, as well as the plans that we are aiming to put in place

in La Marina. Our goal is to continue to create a year-round destination for Sotogrande, so that it becomes even more a compelling destination to visit and to live.

The Marina will be one of the main focuses of that activity? The challenge is to manage to keep it going all year round?

The peak periods at the Marina are Christmas, Holy Week and all of summer and autumn. Of course visitors have a lot of choice of places to go and see during these periods so part of our work is to focus on making these times even more compelling. We are also going further, ensuring that El Mercado de Levante is a year-round destination in itself.

Sotogrande’s residents and well established community are front of mind, and ensuring that our community can enjoy experiences throughout the year is a priority.

Our commitment and strategy is to progress the work of the last few years and to consolidate and improve continually the overall experience.

Do you also have big plans for Club de Golf La Reserva?

Our aim for La Reserva is that it is considered one of the finest country clubs and golf courses in the world, offering a wide range of experiences that combine health and wellbeing, tranquillity and repose with golf, watersports, community living and lots more.

We want to continue ensuring that life at La Reserva is a unique and extraordinary experience and those who live or visit here share it with their family and friends.

With our programme of continual improvements and maintenance, we want to consolidate Club de Golf La Reserva’s place among the world’s top 100. It is essential that golfers here find everything, ranging from parking place through to five-star quality service every day of the year.

And it does not end there; together with new clay tennis courts, in-

ternational events, the upcoming Country Club and the launch of a Golfing Academy of the highest level named after Manuel Piñero, this is a project that we are very excited about in all areas.

What is exciting about working with Manuel Piñero is that he can transmit all of his experience and knowledge to an exclusive group of young and experienced players alike with very positive results.

Our focus overall is quality rather than quantity, yet we are also welcoming new members at the Almenara Academy.

In short, we want to exalt even the smallest details of a sophisticated product that represents the essence of life in Sotogrande.

All of this will be accompanied with the urban development of La Reserva…

That will indeed go hand in hand.

Therefore, our priority is to ensure that the expectations of our residents and visitors are exceeded, that they discover the very exclusive and unique way of life that Sotogrande offers. We want them to feel at home and enjoy the destination´s high level of services.

Sotogrande is an exceptional offering; it is very international and its fantastic airport connections are a definite advantage. Our aim is to ensure that residents and visitors find all they need here.

Will we have to pay especially close attention to what happens next year in Sotogrande?

We are in the middle of organising several high-profile events for next year, starting in spring, with some already announced and others to get the green light soon. The RC44 Sotogrande Sailing Cup race is confirmed to return, and we are working on an exciting line-up of golf events, and other major events of international note and interest.

Above all we would like the communities here and around to be involved and are committed to that being the case.

La clave para una simbiosis de éxito social y económico pasa por la cooperación El tejido empresarial analiza las principales preocupaciones y consecuencias del ‘Brexit’ y su repercusión en la zona. Un marco de seguridad jurídica, confianza para la inversión y la agilidad en las relaciones comerciales se convierten en los principales lazos a fortalecer entre instituciones y administraciones ✑ Manuel Gil

Grupo HCP celebró en el Salón San Roque del Hotel Almenara la octava edición de su ya tradicional Foro Empresarial, una cita habitual con la llegada del otoño y que sirve para tomar un pulso de primera mano sobre la situación actual, social y económica de Sotogrande y su entorno, así como para conocer las principales preocupaciones e inquietudes de los empresarios y representantes en el área de influencia de la Urbanización.

En esta edición, al hilo de la relevancia de una de las noticias más trascendentales de los últimos años, la jornada formativa e informativa estuvo enfocada de manera monográfica al ‘Brexit’ (la salida del Reino Unido de la Unión Europea) y a sus efectos y consecuencias para Sotogrande y el Campo de Gibraltar. Para ello, Grupo HCP convocó a una treintena de los principales agentes económicos y sociales de la zona para, después de contextualizar el tema principal del Foro de la mano de varios expertos en la materia, debatir y analizar los diferentes puntos con mayor incidencia en Sotogrande.

Lazos de cooperación En líneas generales, previo al análisis con bisturí de las grandes conclusiones que aparecieron durante el encuentro, desvelar a modo de desenlace el consenso entre los actores participantes de una imperiosa necesidad en es-

tos momentos de fortalecer todas aquellas acciones y organismos que unan y fomenten la cooperación entre entidades sociales y empresariales tanto de Gibraltar como del resto de la Comarca como solución de éxito.

Entre un densa nube de incógnitas y de “incertidumbres”, palabra sobre la que giran la gran mayoría de las cuestiones que atañen a este tema, se alcanzó en la mesa de debate la certeza de que una productiva y fructífera relación es fundamental tanto para Gibraltar como para toda la zona. Tomando la responsabilidad de ensalzar todos aquellos mecanismos de cooperación y entendimiento por cada una de las partes. Diferentes argumentos dejaron latente que

es precisamente en este destino, el sur de Andalucía (incluyendo a Gibraltar), el lugar dónde mayor y mejor entendimiento se tiene sobre la situación y del que deben partir, a través de sus propias instituciones civiles o del tejido empresarial, las herramientas de entendimiento con un perfil negociador y bilateral entre el terreno gibraltareño y español.

En ese momento apareció sobre la mesa, como alternativa y una de las fórmulas que más atraen y gustan a entidades y sindicatos comarcales y del Peñón, la figura de una AECT (Agrupación Europea de Cooperación Territorial), una iniciativa que promueve el Grupo Transfronterizo. Estas agrupaciones permiten un enten-

dimiento singular, de carácter social, cultural y económico, entre territorios fronterizos (independientemente de que ambos estén obligados a pertenecer a la UE), destinados a gestionar actuaciones que beneficien a ambos territorios; una solución que incluso estaría al margen de las consecuencias del Brexit. Una alternativa por la que están dispuestas a luchar instituciones de ambos lados de la verja y que incluso permitiría poner en práctica diferentes proyectos (ya que cuentan con fondos de la propia Unión Europea), como la finalización de la terminal española en la aeropuerto de Gibraltar o la construcción del recientemente presentado tranvía que conectaría todo

Hills apuesta por Sotogrande El Foro Empresarial de Grupo HCP contó con la intervención, a modo de caso práctico, de Pedro Muñoz y Javier Almendral como principales representantes del conjunto residencial Sotogrande D.O.C Hills (doce villas de primera construcción que ya se encuentran en marcha en la Avenida de Los Cortijos).

Los responsables detallaron su proyecto a los presentes, con su lógica preocupación por el contexto internacional aunque con los argumentos de que Sotogrande es un lugar sin discusión, único y privilegiado para vivir, algo que supone un atractivo inigualable tanto para la realización de un proyecto como para su aceptación. Detallaron su convencimiento de éxito, además de las extraordinarias condiciones de Sotogrande D.O.C. Hills, por la confianza en Sotogrande en todos los aspectos: seguridad jurídica, entorno, deporte, ocio, familia, clima, etc.

Afirmaron que el interés en Sotogrande está tanto en Reino Unido como en otros muchos puntos por ser un referente internacional y eso les motivó a poner en práctica un proyecto de calidad, escalonado (se ejecutan seis villas en la primera fase y luego las restantes) y bajo unos parámetros inspirados en la arquitectura de primer orden, integración de la naturaleza y sensible con el medio ambiente.

Una más de las diferentes y posibles alternativas de entendimiento pero que agradó bastante a los asistentes.

Relaciones legales y comerciales Aunque son muchas las cuestiones que aún quedan en el aire y que ocupan gran parte del protagonismo en un análisis del Brexit como el que se realizó en el Foro.

Se analizó la importancia de conocer el marco legal y jurídico resultante de las negociaciones entre Reino Unido (UK) y la Unión Europea (UE). Dudas sobre los cambios impositivos que aparezcan tras el proceso y que afecten a asuntos como impuestos de los no residentes o de sucesiones. De

igual modo, la falta de claridad sobre asesoramiento patrimonial también cuenta con grandes incógnitas a nivel internacional que permanecen a la espera de respuestas.

También se explicaron los diferentes grados de desconexión que podría llegar a producirse entre UK y UE. Ya que aún tampoco se cuenta con la seguridad total de si esos acuerdos estarían encaminados a una desconexión total y absoluta, si bien destinados a regresar a una etapa previa a la Comunidad Europea con los tratados internacionales o simplemente se implanten o reduzcan modificaciones de una manera suave que afecte levemente a cuestiones clave como el mercado interior o la libre circulación de personas. Se desconoce si dichos pactos resolverán la cuestión como un ‘Brexit duro’ (hard) o más suave (soft). En cualquiera de los casos, España y especialmente esta zona, sería la principal interesada en que todas estas situaciones afectasen lo menos posible al turismo vacacional o residencial. Teniendo en cuenta que el británico es el principal mercado consumidor de estos servicios en España.

Es prácticamente indiscutible, se-

gún varios de los expertos, que de una manera u otra se encontrarán vías y soluciones que hagan factibles diferentes espacios para acuerdos y encuadres en operaciones mercantiles, financieras y legales. Ya sean con licencias europeas, garantías fiscales o de la forma pertinente. Pero existen, como es el caso de Gibraltar con el Campo de Gibraltar, una serie de acuerdos (sanitarios, gestión de residuos, mercado inmobiliario, servicios, etc.) que seguirán funcionando, la cuestión es conocer de qué manera y en qué escenarios o bajo qué fórmulas y reglamentos.

Expuestos los casos y los debates que se están sucediendo en puntos como Escocia o Gales, estos casos no serían aplicables a Gibraltar ya que al no ser te-

rritorio del Reino Unido, como matizó en su intervención el catedrático Jesús Verdú, no serían las mismas condiciones. Según se detalló, podría llegar a darse el caso de que los requisitos para trabajar u operar en Reino Unido fuesen completamente diferentes a los necesarios para hacerlo en Gibraltar, debido a su particular situación jurídica dentro del marco de la Unión Europea.

Incluso, podría darse la oportunidad, como una de las alternativas más ventajosas, de implantar una negociación bilateral sobre las relaciones comerciales de Gibraltar con el Campo de Gibraltar, por ejemplo, debido a lo extraordinario de su caso. Aunque uno de los principales problemas para ello es que España, con sus últimos gobiernos, no reconoce a Gibraltar como un interlocutor de igual a igual.

Preocupaciones en Sotogrande y mercado inmobiliario En cuanto a la situación de los residentes y empresarios británicos en Sotogrande, según se debatió y concluyó en la mesa, no debería afectar de una manera extraordinaria. Sí bien podrían sufrir modificaciones cuestiones como

la Seguridad Social, derechos adquiridos como la ciudadanía no deberían contemplar efectos.

Por otro lado, el tema relativo a la inversión sí podría notar una desaceleración o congelación (como en buena parte de 2016) a la espera de un escenario que genere mayor confianza para realizar compras u operaciones.

En los últimos meses, es cierto que el cliente británico se encuentra a la expectativa, en opinión de los agentes, pero no debería tampoco ser un gran punto que afecte negativamente, principalmente, por dos motivos: el mercado británico seguirá buscando destinos turísticos (esté dentro o fuera de la UE y España es un lugar privilegiado para ello); y por otro, además de abrirse una oportunidad con nuevos mercados y oportuni-

dades de éxito, el gran inversor o comprador de propiedades (en el caso de llevar el ejemplo al mercado inmobiliario) piensa en un plazo de 10/15 años, no ve un impedimento en el contexto más actual para desestimar su inversión de largo recorrido en un enclave único y exclusivo como es el caso de Sotogrande.

Los agentes analizaron que este perfil no busca destinos como Turquía, Grecia, norte de África o norte de Europa, demanda lugares como Sotogrande con todo lo que tiene ofrecer. Golf, polo,

distrito equino, colegio internacional, vela, puerto Deportivo, grandes inversores (La Zagaleta o Sotogrande S.A.), un lifestyle único, …, son motivos más que suficientes para pensar y creer en la gran imagen de Sotogrande en el exterior. En opinión de los expertos se está despertando un gran interés tanto en el mercado británico (a pesar del Brexit), como en otros lugares, tales como México, Dubai, Estados Unidos, Rusia o América del Sur y otros puntos que se están convirtiendo en nuevas oportunidades de ne-

gocio y potenciales clientes.

Para ello, también se defendió en la mesa de debate la necesidad de contar con un marco que facilite todo ello, como un seguridad jurídica, agilidad de administraciones, ordenación territorial y una serie de elementos imprescindibles para el crecimiento y desarrollo de la zona, en este caso Sotogrande, en conjunto con Gibraltar, con el que poder establecer un escenario de acuerdos de enormes garantías y productivos resultados posibles.

Deporte, ocio, sanidad, transporte, mercado financiero, inmobiliario, etc. La lista de elementos y valores que pueden crecer en conjunto tanto este rincón del Sur como Gibraltar (fortaleciendo las debilidades uno del otro), se aseguró, sería el gran vehículo para el crecimiento de ambos. A lo que a modo de conclusión final, se afirmó, que a mejor y más beneficioso entendimiento llegan los ciudadanos de uno y otro lado de la verja que los propios políticos.

Verdú profundizó sobre un escenario con “incertidumbres” y lleno de incógnitas sobre la futura negociación para la salida del Reino Unido de la Unión Europea, así como de un contexto internacional repleto de “dudas sobre la globalización y un cierto grado involución hacia fórmulas proteccionistas”.

Matizó sobre la premisa de que Gibraltar “no es parte de Reino Unido” y que como tal “no le afectará de igual modo los parámetros de la negociación”. “Indudablemente que la pertenencia de Gibraltar a la Unión Europa, con un estatuto jurídico muy singular, le ha reportado un poderoso crecimiento económico pero con su salida esto debe cesar. Claro está que perderá cosas pero ganará otras como una mayor libertad y soberanía en materia fiscal lo que abre un abanico enorme de posibilidades para su desarrollo”, dijo. “Más preocupante es la negociación del propio Reino Unido y los términos con la Unión Europea ya que debe encontrar un camino de consenso en el periodo de dos años (como marca el Art. 50 del Tratado de Lisboa), pasado esto figuraríar como un país un terce-

ro, aunque es poco previsible. A pesar de que el plazo de negociaciones es muy corto deberían encontrase acuerdos en temas tan importantes como el mercado único o la libre circulación de personas aunque precisamente estos son temas de gran debate y vinculados al Brexit”, añadió. “¿Se cerrará la verja con Gibraltar? No lo creo, sería extremadamente complicado. ¿Qué estamos ante un nuevo escenario? Por supuesto, no se pueden resolver los nuevos desafíos con preguntas del pasado. Se encontrarán nuevas fórmulas, ya sean visados de entrada o bajo le marco legal pertinente pero la inversión y las sinergias continuarán en un futuro entre Gibraltar y esta Comarca”, explicó Verdú. “Sin duda, habrá que ser competitivos y adaptarse a los nuevos tiempos pero seguro que la situación se puede traducir en nuevas oportunidades.

Campo de Gibraltar y Peñón están marcados y estrechamente vinculados social, cultural y económicamente. Ello no cambiará, las formas y los escenarios, probablemente sí”, subrayó.

The key to successful symbiosis resides in cooperation Business community analyses the main concerns and consequences of Brexit and its impact on the area.

A legal security framework, confidence for investment and agility in business relations become the main links to strengthen between institutions and administrations.

Salon San Roque at Hotel Almenara was the setting for Grupo HCP´s eighth edition of their now traditional Business Forum, a customary event with the arrival of autumn, which serves to gauge the current social and economic situation in Sotogrande and its surrounding environment. It is also a chance to hear the main concerns and worries of business people and representatives from the Resort´s area of influence.

In this edition, with regard to the relevance of one of the most important pieces of news of the last few years, the training and information day was entirely focussed on Brexit (the UK leaving the European Union) and its effects and consequences for Sotogrande and Campo de Gibraltar. To that end, Grupo HCP brought together thirty of the main economic and social agents in the area, to get some context for the main issue of the Forum along with several experts on the subject, to debate and analyse the different points that have the greatest impact on Sotogrande.

Cooperation ties Generally, before the dissection of the main conclusions that emerged during the meeting, there was final agreement among the participating actors of the overwhelming need at the moment to strengthen all the actions and organisms that bring together and encourage coopera-

tion among social and business institutions in Gibraltar as well as the rest of the Province as a solution for success.

Among a thick cloud of unknowns and “uncertainties”, a word around which the large majority of questions relating to this matter revolve, the debate table reached a certainty that a productive and fruitful is crucial for Gibraltar as well as for all of the area. Each party needs to take responsibility for enhancing the cooperation and understanding mechanisms. Different arguments made it clear that it is precisely this destination, in the south of Andalusia (including Gibraltar), that is the place where there is the biggest and best understanding of the situation.

It is practically undeniable, according to several of the experts, that in one way or another, feasible ways and solutions will be found foe different spaces for agreements and frameworks for mercantile, financial and legal operations. Whether with European licenses, fiscal guarantees or in the appropriate way.

Concerns in Sotogrande and the property market With regard to the situation of British residents and business people in Sotogrande, as debated and concluded at the table, Brexit should not have a very significant effect. Although there could be changes to matters such as Social Security, rights acquired by citizens should not be affected. On the other hand, the issue of investment could not a slow down or freeze (as in part of 2016) as people await a situation that creates more confidence in order to make purchases or carry out transactions.

The experts believe that a lot interest is being generated in the British market (despite Brexit), as well as in other places, such as Mexico, Dubai, the United States, Russia and South America and other points that are becoming new opportunities for business and potential clients.

To that end, the debate table also argued for the need to have a framework that facilitates all of that, as well as juridical security, the agility of administrations, land management and a series of crucial elements for the growth and development of the area, in this case Sotogrande, along with Gibraltar, with which to be able to establish a scenario for agreements with enormous guarantees, that produce possible results.

El Consistorio expone las mejoras previstas a los empresarios de Sierra Bermeja Los comerciantes de esta zona de Pueblo Nuevo llevan meses reclamando al Ayuntamiento mejores en aparcamiento, limpieza, iluminación y accesos 1 M. Gil / Redacción

El Consistorio detalló las soluciones que está poniendo en marcha para dar respuesta a las demandas de los empresarios de la zona comercial de Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro, denominada “Sierra Bermeja”, como la habilitación de nuevas zonas de aparcamiento, el incremento de la limpieza viaria o la mejora de la iluminación.

Así se los trasladó a estos empresarios en una reunión de sus representantes con el alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, y con la concejal delegada de Comercio, Belén Jiménez.

“Una de sus principales demandas –enumeró Jiménez- se refiere a la falta de aparcamientos, especialmente en verano, cuando se triplica la población de la zona.

En este sentido, se están buscando soluciones como las plazas de aparcamientos creadas con la urbanización del Pabellón de Deportes, pero seguimos trabajando en ello y ya estamos contemplando habilitar una parcela con pinos situada entre la zona comercial y el campo donde se practica rugby. También se ha pedido a Carreteras que la vía de servicio sea de sentido único, para utilizar el otro sentido como zona de aparcamientos”.

“Otro de los puntos que hemos tratado -señaló Belén Jiménez- ha sido la limpieza viaria. En este aspecto hemos trabajado anteriormente, así que todas las semanas se realiza una limpieza con agua a presión. Además, se ha estado

viendo con los técnicos la posibilidad de poner más papeleras en la zona porque las existentes no son suficientes”. “En cuanto a iluminación -precisó-, está prevista la instalación de farolas dobles en las medianas de las zonas ajardinadas, así como cambiar las bombillas existentes por unas led para dar más luz”.

“También nos piden los empresarios -agregó la concejal- que se realice una escalera para conectar la zona comercial con la vía de servicio. En este sentido, si Carreteras nos permite que la vía de servicio sea de un único sentido y habilitar aparcamientos, se podría realizar esta obra para dotar de mejor accesibilidad a la zona comercial”.

The councillor added that “Business people have also requested that we create stairs to connect the commercial area with the service road. In this regard, if the Road department allows us to make the service road a oneway system and put in parking spaces, we will be able to carry out this work to make the commercial area more.

Pesar por el fallecimiento del empresario Manuel Gavilán El pasado 10 de noviembre falleció tras una larga enfermedad el empresario y uno de los vecinos más ilustres y queridos del Valle del Guadiaro, Manuel Gavilán. Sin duda, uno de los personajes que procesaba unan mayor cariño por parte de toda la comunidad y reconocido por su enorme labor profesional, en una de las entidades de mayor recorrido en la zona, además de su carácter familiar, cercano y afable.

Fontanería Gavilán comenzó desde los cimientos, cuando Manuel Gavilán, que en sus inicios fue albañil, empezó a compaginar su trabajo en el Patricia con servicios de fontanería. Poco a poco fue centrándose en la fontanería, hasta que en 1960 se desligó totalmente de su trabajo de albañil y se centró en lo que sería su futuro. Gracias a mucho esfuerzo y trabajo, en pocos años ya contaba con una tienda y un taller, del que conserva la licencia de apertura otorgada por el Ayuntamiento en 1968.

Fontanería Gavilán fue una de las empresas claves en el desarrollo turístico de la zona, ya que fueron ellos los que proporcionaron la llegada del agua a Torreguadiaro, además, también trabajó en numerosas de las zonas de Sotogrande que ya en los 70 empezaron a desarrollarse. A finales de los 90, ya con una empresa totalmente sólida, llegó el relevo generacional y con la jubilación de su fundador, Manuel Gavilán, tomaron el relevo Noelia Gavilán, Cristobal Gavilán y Marcos Cerdán.

El Periódico de Sotogrande, así como toda la familia de Grupo HCP, hace extensible su pesar por esta pérdida a la familia en conjunto con la comunidad del Valle del Guadiaro.

Grief at passing of business man Manuel Gavilán On the 10 November, Manuel Gavilán, business man and one of the most illustrious and beloved residents of Valle del Guadiaro, passed away following a long illness. He was undoubtedly one of the figures that produced the most affection from the entire community and he was renowned for his enormous amount of professional work, in one of the longest running entities in the area, as well as his familiar, friendly and affable character.

Fontanería Gavilán started from scratch, when Manuel Gavilán, who was initially a builder, began to alternate his work at the Patricia with plumbing services. Gradually, he began to focus on plumbing, until in 1960 he completely left his job as a builder and focused on what would be his future. Thanks to lots of effort and work, within a few years he had a shop and a workshop, for which he still holds the opening license issued by the Council in 1968.

Fontanería Gavilán was one of the key companies in the tourism development of the area, as it helped to bring water to Torreguadiaro. It also worked in several of the Sotogrande areas that began to be developed during the 70´s. At the end of the 90´s, already with a fully solid company, the generational takeover took place with the retirement of the founder, Manuel Gavilán. Noelia Gavilán, Cristobal Gavilán and Marcos Cerdán took up the reins.

Puerto Sotogrande acogió las XVIII Jornadas Nacionales de Medicina Marítima, organizado por el Real Club Marítimo Sotogrande. El Ayuntamiento de San Roque adquirió finalmente el solar en el que se ubicaba el cuartel de la Guardia Civil de Torreguadiaro. El edil delegado de Patrimonio y de la zona del Guadiaro, Oscar Ledesma, mantuvo una reunión con la Gerencia de equipamiento e infraestructura de la Seguridad del Estado, del Ministerio del Interior, al objeto de formalizar la compra por un precio de 348.000 euros. El alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, desveló que hace unos años había solicitado que el precio pedido al Ayuntamiento, y que se situaba en torno al medio millón de euros, se redujera sensiblemente, lo que se acordó finalmente con una rebaja de 150 mil euros de ahorro para las arcas municipales.

El Ayuntamiento de San Roque avonó los 348 mil euros en los que se tasó la parcela, de unos 2000 metros cuadrados, con fondos

procedentes del Plan de Inversiones de 2016, realizado una transferencia. En la reunión con José Hurtado, secretario general de la Gerencia de equipamiento e infraestructura de la Seguridad del Estado, del Ministerio del Interior, se firmaron las escrituras del solar, que pasa así a ser propiedad del Ayuntamiento de San Roque.

Tras la firma, Oscar Ledesma, desveló que el Ayuntamiento prevé para la zona una plaza pública con vistas al mar. En la plaza se construirán también locales municipales para albergar la alcaldía, el médico, la Universidad Popular, colectivos y asociaciones; y otros locales que se pondrán en alquiler o venta a través de Emroque.

En todo caso, y con el objetivo de no mermar las plazas de aparcamiento disponibles, se va a estudiar proponer a empresas la

construcción de un aparcamiento subterráneo en el solar.

La parcela, de unos 2000 metros cuadrados es en la actualidad un solar utilizado, especialmente en la época estival, para el aparcamiento de vehículos, aunque su fin último es la construcción de locales y equipamiento público. La Delegación de Obras y Servicios demolió en septiembre de 2011 el antiguo cuartel de la Guardia Civil de Torreguadiaro, una actuación muy demandada por los vecinos de la barriada, tras llegarse a un acuerdo de intención de compra con el Ministerio del Interior.

Si bien la idea es crear en el futuro una plaza pública, el solar sirve desde entonces como zona de aparcamientos para unos 70 vehículos, una vez que se hubo nivelado el terreno y acondicionado con guijarros.

The mayor, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, revealed that a few years ago had requested that the price asked for from the Council, which was at around half a million Euros, was reduced significantly, which was finally agreed with a reduction of 150 thousand Euros for the municipal coffers.

The Council of San Roque paid the 348 thousand Euros that the plot was valued at, covering 2000

square metres, with funds from the 2016 Investment Plan, by making a transfer. At the meeting with José Hurtado, general secretary of the Management of Infrastructure and Equipment of State Security, of the Ministry of the Interior, the deeds were signed for the plot, and it is now property of the Council of San Roque.

Following the signature, Oscar Ledesma revealed that Council plans a public plaza with sea views for the area. Also, municipal premises will be built in the plaza in order to house the Tow Hall, health centre, People´s University, groups and associations; and other premises that will be rented out or sold through Emroque. In any case, and in order to reduce the number of available parking spaces, the council

will study proposing to companies the construction of an underground car park on the plot.

The plot, covering around 2000 square metres is currently a plot that is especially used during the summer season for parking vehicles, although the ultimate goal is to build public premises and facilities. In September 2011, the Delegation for Public Works and Services demolished the old Guardia Civil barracks of Torreguadiaro, action that was much requested by residents in the area, after reaching an intended purchase agreement with the Ministry of the Interior.

Although the idea in the future is to create a public plaza, the plot has since been used as a parking area for 70 vehicles, after levelling the ground and preparation with pebbles.

En un operativo contra el narcotráfico establecido por las Comandancias de la Guardia Civil de Málaga y Algeciras se intervinieron casi una tonelada y media de hachís en una embarcación que arribó a la desembocadura del río Guadiaro.

El operativo se inició tras detectar una embarcación sospechosa de dedicarse al narcotráfico procedente de mar abierto navegando hacia la zona costera de la localidad de Estepona (Málaga).

La embarcación que estaba siendo seguida por los SIVE de Málaga y Algeciras, continuó navegando hacia Sotogrande. Por la zona costera susceptible de tocar tierra, el dispositivo terrestre establecido inició el despliegue.; mientras en el mar la embarcación oficial de la Guardia Civil, perseguía a la de los narcotraficantes, que debido

a las maniobras evasivas que realizó quedó varada en la desembocadura del río Guadiaro.

Las patrullas terrestres intervinieron la embarcación, que transportaba en su interior 48 fardos de hachís y detuvo a uno de los tripulantes tras una persecución por tierra.

De los hechos se instruyeron las correspondientes diligencias que en unión de lo intervenido, 1.473 kilos de hachís, embarcación neumática de 7 metros de eslora con dos motores de 60 c.v. y detenido de origen marroquí, fueron puestas a disposición de la Autoridad Judicial. En el operativo intervinieron patrullas terrestres del Puesto de Manilva y del Servicio Marítimo de la Comandancia de la Guardia Civil de Málaga y del Servicio Marítimo y Puesto Principal de Guadiaro de la Comandancia de Algeciras.

Guardia Civil intercepts one and a half tons of hashish in the mouth of the Guadiaro river In an operation against drug trafficking set up by the Guardia Civil Command Units in Malaga and Algeciras, almost one and a half tons of hashish were seized from a vessel that landed on the mouth of the Guadiaro river.

The operation began after the detection of a vessel suspected of being used for drug trafficking coming from open sea towards the coastal area of Estepona (Malaga). The vessel which was being followed by the Integrated System of Exterior Surveillance (SIVE) of Malaga and Algeciras, continued to head towards Sotogrande. In the coastal area where it was likely to head for land, the land unit began to deploy; while in the sea, the official vessel of the Guardia Civil chased the drug trafficking vessel, which ended

up beached on the mouth of the Guadiaro river due to the evasive manoeuvres it carried out.

The land patrols seized the vessel, which was carrying 48 bundles of hashish, and they arrested one of the crew members following a land chase.

The corresponding proceedings for the events were opened, and along with the 1473 kilos of hashish seized, a 7-metre-long inflatable speedboat with two 60 CV motors, and the arrested person of Moroccan origins, were handed over to the Judicial Authorities. The operation involved land patrols from the Manilva Unit and from the Maritime Service of the Guardia Civil Command Units in Malaga and the Maritime Service and Main Guadiaro Unit of the Algeciras Command Unit.

¿Qué impacto tendrá sobre la economía española el nuevo Gobierno? Posiblemente poco, por dos razones, porque no es nuevo y porque la economía va bien.

En efecto, la novedad del Gobierno sólo estriba en que ha dejado de estar en funciones. Pero el presidente es el mismo, y los dos ministros económicos, Luis de Guindos y Cristóbal Montoro, continúan en sus puestos.

Ha habido algunos cambios. De Guindos conserva definitivamente la cartera de Industria. No consiguió la vicepresidencia económica que, al parecer, ansiaba, pero obtiene más poder. Su rival Montoro, aunque mantiene la competencia de la Función Pública, pierde la de Administraciones Públicas, que pasa a llamarse Administraciones Territoriales, y queda en manos de un nuevo Ministerio de la Presidencia, que

dirige la vicepresidenta Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría. Esta última consigue, además, colocar a una persona cercana, Álvaro Nadal, en el rebautizado Ministerio de Energía, Turismo y Agenda Digital. Por tanto, se supone que gana frente a su rival María Dolores de Cospedal, ascendida a ministra de Defensa. Los ministros siguen siendo como suelen ser en nuestro país: altos funcionarios, con muy escasa experiencia empresarial, y siempre dispuestos a organizarles la vida a los ciudadanos.

Todos estos juegos no tienen mayor importancia económica, aunque sirven para promover la agenda de los gobernantes, y, por supuesto, para distraer al público y a los medios de comunicación, que se entretienen especulando sobre las luchas de poder de los políticos.

La economía, gracias a Dios, va por otros

derroteros, porque depende de lo mejor que hay siempre en todos los países, que son sus empresarios y sus trabajadores.

Los esfuerzos realizados, a menudo sin ninguna ayuda por parte de las autoridades, han dado buenos frutos en 2016, cuyas cifras han superado las previsiones. Esto coloca al Gobierno en una buena posición para afrontar las restricciones que llegan desde Europa, empezando por el recorte de 5.000 millones para alcanzar el déficit comprometido con Bruselas.

Uno de los resultados felices de la reactivación económica es el incremento de la recaudación tributaria, con lo que es posible que la importante subida de impuestos que amenazaba a los contribuyentes, con la excusa del déficit, se quede en una subida pequeña. Un viejo refrán español dice que quien no se consuela es porque no quiere.

New Government What impact will the new Government have on the Spanish economy? Possibly not very much, for two reasons. One, because it is not new, and two, because the economy is doing well.

Indeed, the newness of the Government only resides in the fact that it has stopped being a caretaker government. However, the president remains the same, and the two economic ministers, Luis de Guindos and Cristóbal Montoro remain in their positions.

There have been some changes. De Guindos has definitively kept the Industry portfolio. He did not obtain the economic vice-presidency that he was hoping for, but he has obtained more power. His rival Montoro, while maintaining responsibility over the Civil Service, has lost Public Administrations, which will now be

called Territorial Administrations, and it is in the hands of a new Ministry of the Presidency, to be run by the vice-president Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría. The latter has also managed to place a close ally, Álvaro Nadal, in the newly baptised Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda. Therefore, one suspects that she has beaten her rival María Dolores de Cospedal, who has been promoted to Minister of Defence. The ministers continue to be how they normally are in our country: high-ranking officials, with very little business experience, and always ready to organise the lives of citizens.

All of these games do not have a greater economic importance, although they serve to promote the agenda of the rulers and, of course, to distract the public and the media, which entertain themselves speculating about

the battles for power waged by politicians.

The economy, thank God, is heading in a different direction, because it depends on the best that all countries have to offer, their business people and workers. The efforts made, often without any help from authorities, have brought good rewards in 2016, with figures surpassing forecasts. This places the Government in a good position in order to tackle the restrictions that are arriving from Europe, beginning with the 5.6 billion cut in order to reach the deficit promised to Brussels.

One of the positive results of the economic revival is the increase in tax revenue, which makes it possible that the significant tax increase threatening tax payers, with the excuse of the deficit, may remain as a small rise. As the old saying goes, every cloud has a silver living.

El Salón de Sesiones del Palacio de los Gobernadores acogió el Pleno Ordinario de la Corporación correspondiente al mes de octubre.

Se registró la ausencia de José Reyes Fernández (San Roque Sí Se Puede). El Pleno, como principal punto del día aprobó los presupuestos municipals de 2017 con los votos a favor de PSOE y PA, y los votos en contra del PP, SRSSP y PIVG. Los presupuestos del Ayuntamiento más los correspondientes a las empresas municipales se elevan en 2017 a 45,6 millones de euros. En cuanto a cifras desglosadas, en el Ayuntamiento el Capítulo de Per-

sonal asciende a 18.803.438 euros; los Gastos Corrientes, a 8.118.231 euros, de los cuales 2.224.728 van a políticas sociales; las Transferencias Corrientes ascienden a 10.056.746 euros; y las Inversiones Reales se sitúan en 5.938.000 euros.

En estas cuentas municipales los principales impuestos se congelan; la deuda bancaria se sitúa en 0 euros al haber sido totalmente amortizada este año; las inversiones rozan los 6 millones de euros; y aumentan las partidas para políticas sociales. En cuanto a las transferencias a Emadesa para los trabajos de temporada, se incrementan en un 25%, llegando al millón de euros,

lo que posibilitará superar los cien contratos a lo largo del año.

También, como otro de los puntos principales de la jornada fue la moción presentada por el Partido Popular sobre la regeneración de la playa de Sotogrande y la defensa de la desembocadura del Río Guadiaro. La inclusión de este punto en el Orden del Día se aprobó por unanimidad. El punto en sí se aprobó con los votos del PP, SRSSP, PA y PIVG, y la abstención del PSOE. En su moción, el PP indicó que en mayo de 2011 el Ayuntamiento solicitó la ocupación del dominio público marítimo terrestre para la

realización de unos espigones en la zona sur de la playa de Sotogrande, petición que se aprobó en 2014 por espacio de cinco años. Sostiene que el Consistorio y la Demarcación de Costas acordaron aportar cada una 20.000 metros cúbicos de arena a dicha playa, procedente de la desembocadura del río, cantidad que Costas ha vertido en dos fases: 10.000 metros en mayo y otros 10.000 a finales de agosto. Sin embargo, los populares señalan que el Ayuntamiento no ha cumplido con su parte. También alegan que el alcalde afirma que se ha renunciado

a la concesión de la ocupación del dominio público, pero para este grupo político no hay constancia oficial. Tras el cierre de nuevo de la bocana a principios de octubre, el PP propone: 1) La renuncia oficial del Ayuntamiento a la concesión.

2) Instar a la Administración del Estado a que ejecute las actuaciones pendientes en la playa, sacando arena del río Guadiaro.

3) Instar a la Junta de Andalucía a que se haga cargo de futuros cierres del río o ejecute una solución definitiva.

The Plenary, as the main item on the agenda, approved the municipal budgets for 2017 with votes in favour from the PSOE and PA, and votes against from the PP, SRSSP and PIVG. The Council budgets along with those corresponding to municipal companies, have risen in 2017 to 45.6 million Euros. As for the broken down figures, at the Council, Staff costs have risen to 18,803,438 Euros; the Current Expenditure, to 8,118,231 Euros, of which 2,224,728 Euros go to social policies; the Current Transfers have risen to 10,056,746 Euros; and Real Investments are around 5,938,000 Euros. In these municipal accounts, the main taxes have remained the same; bank debt is 0 Euros as it was completely paid off this

hundred contracts throughout the year.

Also, another of the main points of the day was the motion presented by the PP regarding the regeneration of Sotogrande beach and the defence of the mouth of the Guadiaro River. The inclusion of this point in the Agenda was approved unanimously. The point itself was passed with votes from the PP, SRSSP, PA and PIVG, and the abstention of the PSOE. In its motion, the PP outlined that in May 2011 the Council requested the occupancy of the maritime-terrestrial public domain in order to create some breakwaters in the southern area of Sotogrande beach, a request that was approved in 2014 for a period of five years. It states that the Council and the Coastal Demarcation Department each agreed to provide 20,000 cubic metres of sand for that beach, from the mouth of the river, an amount that the Coastal department has provided in two phases: 10,000 me-

tres in May and another 10,000 metres at the end of August.

However, the PP states that the Council has not fulfilled is promise. They also allege that the mayor states that the mayor states that the granting of the occupancy of the public domain has been waived, however for this political group there is no official record of this. Following the latest closure of the mouth at the start of October, the PP proposes: 1) The official waiving of the Council of the concession.

2) Urging the State Administration to carry out outstanding work on the beach, taking sand from the Guadiaro River.

3) Urging the Regional Government of Andalusia to take responsibility for future closing of the river, or to provide a definitive solution.

Operarios de la Delegación de Obras y Servicios, entre los que se incluyen algunos de los trabajadores contratados por Emadesa durante seis meses, realizarond en las últimas semanas varias distintas actuaciones en el Valle del Guadiaro. De este modo, se están eliminando barreras arquitectónicas junto a la iglesia de Guadiaro y se está mejorando el acerado en la calle Carretera.

El alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, ha visitado la zona junto a los tenientes de alcalde delegados de Obras y Servicios y Valle del Guadiaro, José Antonio Rojas y Óscar Ledesma, así como la concejal Belén Jiménez. El primer edil explicó que, en el caso del conocido como “Callejón de la Iglesia”, se han eliminado todos los escalones y se ha habilitado una rampa, con objeto de facilitar el acceso a las personas

con movilidad reducida.

“En cuanto a la calle Carretera -apuntó Ruiz Boix-, una de las más céntricas de Guadiaro, se está reponiendo el acerado en un tramo importante desde el puesto de Loterías y abarcando toda la recta. Lo que buscamos es mejorar el pavimento para hacerlo más seguro para los peatones, ya que esta calle es un punto de reunión de los vecinos de la barriada”, concluyó.

Juan Serván se integra en el Equipo de Gobierno Local y gestionará Medio Ambiente y Salud Juan Serván, concejal del PA, se integró, en el Equipo de Gobierno municipal tras firmar un acuerdo con el alcalde y secretario general del PSOE de San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, por el cual el edil andalucista gestionará las delegaciones de Medio Ambiente y Salud. Para Ruiz Boix, este pacto es consecuencia de la “oposición constructiva” que ha ejercido Serván en el año y medio que se lleva de mandato, según el equipo de gobierno.

El primer edil recordó que Juan Serván votó a favor de la aprobación inicial del Presupuesto de 2017, y que durante el último año y medio ha compartido con los miembros del Equipo de Gobierno “propuestas, sugerencias o matizaciones. Hemos visto que tiene espíritu constructivo y de sumar, y que le preocupan más los ciudadanos de San Roque que la trifulca política o la judicialización de la labor de gobierno”. Por ello, desde el PSOE de San Roque “se le ha invitado para que forme parte de un gobierno más fuerte, más estable y más cohesionado. Podemos enriquecernos con las aportaciones que aporte el PA”.

Por su parte, Juan Serván indicó que el PA se presentó a las elecciones “para gobernar” y que mediante este acuerdo “se nos da la oportunidad de poder llevar a cabo nuestro programa”. Explicó que durante los meses pasados ha presentado mociones “siempre mirando por el vecino”, y que desde su nueva responsabilidad seguirá “pendiente de que los vecinos tengan lo que piden”.

Educación Colegio Internacional Sotogrande Power Day en el Colegio Internacional 1 Redacción

Dentro del Programa de Ciudadanía Global, una delegación de profesores y estudiantes de trabajo social holandesa de la Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas de Holanda/Rotterdam ha visitado Sotogrande. En colaboración con la profesora de Ciudadanía Global del Colegio Internacional de Sotogrande, Reshma Jagmohan, se celebró un día de formación con algunos estudiantes de grado medio, cuyo objetivo era aumentar la comprensión y el respeto mutuos dentro del colegio y la comunidad general.

Se vio una gran fortaleza y valor a la hora de compartir sentimientos y experiencias personales, y las emociones estuvieron a flor de piel cuando los participantes se apoyaron unos a otros. Los comentarios del día fueron muy positivos, ya que los estudiantes afirmaron que enfocarían las situaciones de forma distinta y con más empatía. Damos las gracias a los estudiantes y profesores holandeses por venir al SIS y compartir esta gran experiencia de aprendizaje.

Power Day at Sotogrande International School As part of the Global Citizenship Programme, a delegation of Dutch Social Work students and teachers from the University of Applied Science In Holland/Rotterdam visited Sotogrande. Working with Sotogrande International School’s Global Citizenship Teacher, Reshma Jagmohan, they hosted a coaching day for some Middle Year Students, with the aim

of increasing mutual understanding and respect within the school and the wider community.

The ‘Power Day’ was a great success, and saw students, parents, teachers and coaches all working together to increase mutual respect and understanding. Great strength and courage were shown when sharing personal experiences

and feelings, and emotions ran high as participants offered support and comfort to one another. Feedback from the day was very positive, with students commenting that they would approach situations differently and with more empathy. Thank you to the Dutch students and teachers for coming to SIS and sharing this great learning experience.

CEIP Barbésula Misterio y fantasía para celebrar Halloween Este mes de octubre nuestro cole se ha convertido en un lugar de misterio y fantasía para festejar Halloween, una de las celebraciones más macabras y a la vez burlonas de la historia; hemos aprendido y disfrutado de la mano de vampiros, brujas, fantasmas y otros monstruos, pero sin nada de miedo.

Llevamos a cabo una fiesta llena de magia, y rebosaron las sorpresas: una caza del tesoro para los mayores, un desayuno con postres y frutas de aspecto terrorífico, un taller de cuentacuentos, y un desfile de disfraces de todos los cursos para gozo y disfrute de todas las familias que quisieron; de esta forma, el horror se convirtió en alegría y diversión.

Cabe destacar y agradecer la participación e implicación de las familias y el AMPA, así

como de todo el claustro. El gran trabajo en equipo dio como resultado un día de leyenda de trucos y tratos.

No menos importante ha sido la celebración de los TOSANTOS o Fiesta del Otoño, para la que contamos con el famoso castañero del pueblo. Fue un día de regalos para el paladar, pues además de disfrutar de las ricas castañas, llevamos a cabo unas macedonias llenas de vitaminas otoñales.

Así, octubre se va como un mes lleno de buenos momentos compartidos, mezclando culturas, y conservando e incorporando tradiciones.

Mystery and fantasy for celebrating Halloween In October our school became a place of mystery and fantasy in order to celebrate Halloween, one of the most ghoulish yet fun celebrations in history; we learned and enjoyed alongside vampires, witches, ghosts and other monsters, but there was no fear.

We held a party filled with magic, and it was packed with surprises: there was a treasure hunt for the older children, a breakfast with desserts and scary looking fruits, a storytelling workshop, and a costume parade for all the years, for the delight and enjoyment of all the families that wanted to participate; as such, horror was turned into joy and fun.

It is worth highlighting and thanking the participation and involvement of the families and the Association of Parents, as well as the teaches. The great teamwork resulted in a memorable day of trick or treating.

Of no less importance was the celebration of TOSANTOS or “Autumn Festival”, for which we were joined by the town´s

famous chestnut seller. It was a day of gifts for the palate, as in addition to the delicious chestnuts, we created some delicious fruit salads, filled with autumnal vitamins.

So, October ended as month filled with great moments shared together, mixing cultures, and maintaining and incorporating traditions.

Informes sobre solvencia de autónomos y PYMES (“Información Financiera-PYME”) El pasado 11 de octubre de 2016 entró en vigor la Circular 6/2016 del Banco de España por la que se determinan el contenido y el formato del documento «Información Financiera-PYME». Y es que, aunque la Ley 5/2015, de 27 de abril, de fomento de la financiación empresarial, estableció que las entidades de créditos debían dar un preaviso cuando tuvieran intención de no prorrogar, extinguir o disminuir en un 35% o más el flujo de financiación concedido a una pyme y que este preaviso se acompañaría de la información sobre su situación financiera e historial de pagos (“Información Financiera- Pyme”), para unificar criterios en las entidades a la hora de hacer sus valoraciones, se encomendó al Banco de España que estableciese los parámetros a tener en cuenta en la elaboración del documento, lo cual ha hecho ahora a través de la citada Circular, por lo que a partir de aquí, los bancos deberán cumplir dichas obligaciones.

Esto supone una gran novedad para los pequeños y medianos empresarios, y para los emprendedores, pues la información sobre la solvencia de las empresas ya no es interna del banco, sino pública para los interesados.

Así, desde el pasado 11 de octubre las entidades de crédito deberán dar un preaviso cuando tengan intención de no prorrogar, extinguir o disminuir en un 35% o más el flujo de financiación concedido a una pyme con una antelación mínima de 3 meses a la fecha de vencimiento del contrato de crédito de mayor cuantía. Para calcular este límite del 35% se tendrá en cuenta el conjunto de contratos de crédito (y cualesquiera otros que cumplan una función de financiación equivalente) de la pyme concedidos por una misma entidad de crédito. Se entenderá que se ha disminuido el flujo de financiación cuando, en un periodo de tres meses tras la celebración de nuevos contratos de finan-

ciación o la prórroga de todos o algunos de los existentes, el flujo de financiación disponible es inferior en, al menos, un 35% respecto del existente en el momento en que se debió notificar el preaviso.

La entidad de crédito podrá quedar exenta de esta obligación de preaviso si justifica de manera objetiva que las condiciones financieras de la pyme han empeorado de manera sobrevenida y significativa, siempre y cuando la financiación otorgada por esa entidad represente una parte sustancial del flujo de financiación total de la pyme, y tampoco estará obligada a facilitar este documento cuando el plazo de duración de la financiación sea igual o inferior a 3 meses, cuando la entidad haya resuelto el contrato por incumplimiento de la pyme de sus obligaciones, o cuando la entidad ponga fin a las relaciones de negocio u operaciones con la pyme en virtud de lo previsto en la Ley 10/2010, de 28 de abril, de prevención

del blanqueo de capitales y de la financiación del terrorismo, entre otros supuestos.

Por tanto, si su banco le avisa de que no le renueva la financiación o de que se la reduce en más de un 35%, exija esa “Información Financiera-PYME”.

En el plazo de 10 días hábiles desde que la entidad de crédito haya enviado el preaviso deberá remitir también a la pyme, de manera gratuita, el documento “Información Financiera-Pyme”, el cual le servirá para demostrar su solvencia, así como que su empresa está al día de sus obligaciones (frente a otros bancos, frente a clientes o proveedores, etc.).

La “Información Financiera-PYME” ofrece soluciones para que cualquier inversor o entidad financiera pueda evaluar el riesgo de crédito de las compañías.

En el documento se tendrán que incluir, entre otros datos, una lista de los créditos anteriores y los todavía vigentes, los importes pendientes de amortización

y los riesgos transferidos a terceros pero cuya gestión todavía conserve la entidad financiera. Además, deberá figurar el estado actual de impagos, la relación de concursos de acreedores, los acuerdos de refinanciación, los procedimientos de ejecución y otras incidencias judiciales.

Las pymes tendrán derecho a solicitar de la entidad de crédito la “Información Financiera-Pyme” en cualquier momento (aunque no hayan avisado a la empresa de que no van a renovarle la financiación), sin perjuicio de que la entidad podrá cobrar en este caso por la prestación del servicio.

The SME´s will have the right to request the “Financial Information-SME” document at any point from the credit institution at any point (even if they have not notified the company that they are not going to renew funding), without prejudice to the fact that the entity can charge in this case for the provision of the service.

Reports about the solvency of freelancers and SMEs (“Financial Information-SME”) 11 October 2016 marked the coming into effect of the Circular 6/2016 of Bank of Spain which determines the content and the format of the “Financial Information-SME” document. The fact is that, although Law 5/2015 of 27 April, on encouraging business funding, encouraged that credit institutions should provide forewarning when they had the intention of not extending, extinguishing or reducing by 35% or more the funding flow granted to an SME and that this advance notice would be accompanied with information about their funding situation and payment history (Financial Information-SME). In order to unify criteria in institutions when it came to making assessments, the Bank of Spain was commissioned to establish the parameters to take into account when creating the document, which it has done now through

the aforementioned Circular, therefore from now on, banks will have to comply with those obligation.

This is big news for small and medium-sized businesses, and for entrepreneurs, as the information about the solvency of companies is no longer internal for the bank, rather it is public for interested parties to see.

Thus, as of 11 October credit institutions will have to provide forewarning when they intend to not extend, terminate or reduce the funding flow provided to an SME by 35% or more, at least 3 months in advance of the largest credit contract. In order to calculate this 35% limit, all of the SME´s credit contracts will be taken into account (and any others that serve an equivalent funding function) that have been granted by the same credit institution. The funding flow will have understood to

have reduced when, in a period of three months following the creation of new funding contracts or the extension of all or some of the existing ones, the available flow of funding is at least 35% less than that at the time when the forewarning was to have been provided.

The credit institution may be exempt from this obligation to provide a forewarning if it objectively justifies that the financial conditions of the SME have worsened in a sudden and significant manner, provided that the funding granted by that institution represents a substantial part of the overall funding flow of the SME. Likewise, the credit institution will not be obliged to provide this document when the duration period of the funding is equal to or less than 3 months, when the entity has terminated the contract due to the SME´s

Ahora bien, el TS ha entendido que, en aplicación del principio de proporcionalidad, la Administración debe elegir el medio menos restrictivo de la libertad individual, por lo que no puede denegarse la ocupación por diferencias no sustanciales con el proyecto para el que se obtuvo licencia de obra. En tal caso, la licencia puede otorgarse sujeta a la condición de que tales diferencias menores se subsanen En muchas normas autonómicas la licencia de primera ocupación es un requisito para contratar los suministros de energía eléctrica, agua, gas y telefonía. La previsión

suele acompañarse de la tipificación de una infracción administrativa consistente en que la empresa suministradora responde de la contratación de suministros sin previa licencia.

Pero ¿qué sucede si se procede a la venta de un inmueble sin haber obtenido la preceptiva licencia de primera ocupación? Pues que, según doctrina jurisprudencial del Tribunal Supremo, se puede solicitar la rescisión del contrato de compraventa ya que se entiende que la vivienda objeto de compraventa ha de ser entregada en condiciones de ser habitada y poseída con las autorizaciones administrativas pertinentes que facultan para obtener los suministros y garantizar que se ha terminado conforme se prescribe administrativamente, independientemente de que la venta lo sea por un promotor o por un tercer adquirente, dado que sin dicha licencia el objeto trasmitido no se corresponde con el adquirido.

Efectivamente, la obligación de entrega del vendedor ha de entenderse en su aspecto no solo físico sino jurídico, permitiendo que la vivienda se ocupe legalmente, que los suministros se contraten de forma regular, y, en definitiva, que el comprador pueda ejercer sus derechos sobre la vivienda adquirida libremente y sin obstáculos legales ya que la incertidumbre en que se coloca al comprador por la falta de entrega de la licencia ante el posible riesgo, incluso, de futura demolición de lo construido y adquirido, equivalen a un incumplimiento del vendedor de su obligación de entregar la vivienda en un determinado plazo -por más que en el contrato privado se le autorice a requerir al comprador para otorgar la es-

critura pública -una vez finalizadas las obras-.

Pero es que el Tribunal Supremo va a mas al determinar que la falta de cumplimiento de este deber no sólo se valorará como esencial de haberse pactado como tal en el contrato, sino también, en su defecto, “en aquellos casos en que las circunstancias concurrentes conduzcan a estimar que su concesión no va a ser posible en un plazo razonable por ser presumible contravención de la legislación y/o planificación urbanística, ya que en ese caso se estaría haciendo imposible o poniendo en riesgo la efectiva incorporación del inmueble al patrimonio del adquirente, correspondiendo a la vendedora probar el carácter accesorio y no esencial de la falta de dicha licencia mediante la prueba de que la falta de obtención no responde a motivos relacionados con la imposibilidad de dar al inmueble el uso adecuado”.

Además, no es necesario que el vendedor sea un promotor pues la posibilidad de rescindir una compraventa de bien inmueble por falta de licencia de primera ocupación es dable también entre particulares. Así por ejemplo el Tribunal Supremo ha estimado la rescisión de la compraventa de una casa destinada a turismo rural que no poseía esta licencia aunque tuviera las autorizaciones turísticas para explotar en la misma una actividad de este carácter.

En consecuencia, queda claro que en nuestro derecho la falta de la licencia de primera ocupación es motivo de rescisión de cualquier compraventa de bien inmueble urbano en el que, por sus características, sea preciso la obtención de la misma.

The first occupation licence The purpose of the first occupation licence (the occupancy certificate) is to check compliance with the conditions imposed in the construction permit, as well as the conformity of the building created with the project that served as a base for granting the construction permit. In the understanding that if there are deviations in relation to the project authorised by the construction licence, the first occupation licence should be denied even if the building satisfies the security and health conditions that allow it to be used as a residence.

Now, the Supreme Court has stated that, in applying the principle of proportionality, the Administration must choose the least restrictive means of individual freedom, therefore it is not possible to reject occupancy for differences that do not vary substantially with the project for which the construction licence was granted. In such a case, the licence can be granted subject to the condition that such minor differences are corrected.

In many autonomous community’s regulations, the first occupation licence is a requirement for contracting electric energy, water, gas and telephone supplies. The forecast is usually accompanied with the classification of an administrative infringement that consists in the supply company responds to the contracting of supplies without a prior licence.

But, what happens if one goes ahead with the sale of a prop-

erty without having obtained the compulsory first occupation licence? Well, according to jurisprudential doctrine from the Supreme Court, it is possible to request the termination of the purchase contract as it is understood that the property that is subject to the sale must be handed over in inhabitable conditions and along with the relevant administrative authorisations that authorise obtaining supplies and guarantee that the property has been completed in accordance with administrative requirements, regardless of whether the sale is through a developer or an acquiring third party, given that without said licence, the object sold does not correspond to that purchased.

Effectively, the seller´s obligation to deliver has to be understood not only physically, but also legally, allowing the property to be occupied legally, for the supplies to be contracted within regulations, and in short, for the buyer to be able to exercise their rights over the property purchased freely and without legal obstacles.

This is as the uncertainty that the buyer is placed into due to the lack of delivery of the license, in relation to even the possible future risk of demolition of the built and purchased property, equates to a failure of the seller to deliver the property within a certain period –even though in the private contract they are authorised to require the buyer in order to execute the public deed- once the work has been completed.

However, the fact is that the Supreme Court has gone further by ruling that failure to comply with this duty shall not only be deemed as essential if it has been agreed as such in the contract, but rather, failing this, “in cases where concurrent circumstances lead to a finding that its granting will not be possible in a reasonable period due to a likely breach of legislation and/or urban planning, as in such a case it would make it impossible or put at risk the effective incorporation of the property into the assets of the purchasing party. It is the seller´s responsibility to prove the ancillary and not essential character of the lack of said license via proof that the lack of obtaining it does not correspond to reasons linked to the impossibility of properly using the property”.

Furthermore, it is not necessary for the seller to be a developer as it is also possible to terminate a property sales contract due to the lack of a first occupation licence between individuals. So, for example, the Supreme Court has ruled to terminate the sale of a house intended for rural tourism use that did not have this license, even though it had tourism licences for operating activity of this nature in it. Consequently, it is clear that in our law the lack of a first occupancy licence is ground for terminating any sale of an urban property in which, due to its characteristics, it is necessary to obtain said licence.

La Feria Navideña que acoge el complejo (situado en la Carretera Antigua de Los Barrios en el km. 4,5) cumple 10 años y ya prepara para finales del próximo mes de noviembre una edición muy especial, con multitud de actividades, temáticas y muchas sorpresas más. Concretamente, este año se celebra los días 26 y 27 de noviembre con un horario desde las 11:00 a las 21:00 horas.

Este año, como una de las novedades, la entrada por vehículo tendrá un coste de 4 euros por vehículo e irá acompañado de una consumición de café incluida con el parking. El próximo sábado, 26 de Noviembre, The Giving Theatre (El Teatro Generoso), pone en en escena su nueva producción “Into the Woods” de Stephen Sondheim en el Teatro Juan Luis Galiardo, a partir de las 21:00 horas.

Este estreno culmina un proceso que se ha llevado a cabo desde el pasado mes de febrero. Durante todo ese tiempo los miembros de la compañía seleccionados para la temporada teatral 2016/17 han trabajado de forma intensa para ofrecer al público la aclamada obra de Broadway, que será interpretada en versión original con música en vivo, y que ha permitido a sus componentes ampliar su formación, por exigencias de la producción que despliega un alto nivel de canto e interpretación.

The Giving Theatre (El Teatro Generoso), es una Compañía teatral ubicada en Sotogrande, cuyos componentes son jóvenes seleccionados en audiciones anuales para formar parte de la compañía durante una temporada, en el transcurso de la cual se formarán en las tres disciplinas del género de Teatro Musical: Canto, Interpretación y Danza. La temporada culmina con la puesta en escena del Montaje que se haya llevado a cabo durante esos meses.

singing, acting and dance. The season concludes with the staging of the show that has been put together during that period.

The works are staged in English, which is an extraordinarily enriching learning experience for the members as well as the public that can enjoy it in its original version. With this production, The Giving Theatre, is starting up a grant program to include talented young people who lack the resources to cover the training costs.

El municipio cuenta con nuevos puntos de lectura de la Red de Bibliotecas, tras la apertura de los ubicados en las barriadas de San Enrique y Taraguilla. Con ello son 8 los lugares donde se puede acceder a los fondos bibliográficos de las bibliotecas.

Estos permanecerán abiertos de lunes a viernes por las tardes por voluntarios de las barriadas, que se encargarán de gestionar los libros que se soliciten y aperturar las instalaciones, ubicadas en edificios municipales; la de San Enrique en la alcaldía.

Recordar que cada primer lunes de messe celebran una serie de cuentacuentos en bibliotecas del

San Enrique unveils new reading point on the Library Network The municipality had new reading points on the Library Network, following opening of those located in the districts of San Enrique and Taraguilla. With them, there are now 8 places where it is possible to access the resources of the libraries. There Ppints will be open from Monday to Friday in the afternoons, thanks to vol-

unteers from the districts that will be responsible for managing the books that are requested and opening the facilities, located in municipal buildings; the one in San Enrique is in the town hall.

It is worth remembering that on the first Monday of each month, a series of storytelling sessions are held in the mu-

nicipality´s libraries, and the two newly opened points have joined. At 5pm following the opening of the San Enrique Reading Point, the “House of Stories” storytelling session was held. It is an oral narration show that pays tribute to books and libraries.

and Taraguilla, there are three existing points in the municipality, including the one in Guadarranque. El magnífico trazado de La Reserva de Sotogrande acogió durante tres vibrantes jornadas de competición el torneo de golf Sotogrande International Young Talents Trophy, de la mano de la Jason Floyd Golf Academy. Una cita que logró reunir en el campo ‘sotograndino’ a varias de las mayores promesas del golf.

El recorrido, en unas condiciones inmejorables, se convirtió en escenario de lujo durante todo el torneo. Además, con el apoyo de varias empresas y entidades colaboradoras como el Colegio Internacional de Sotogrande, los participantes disfrutaron de diferentes ventajas, regalos y premios alternativos.

En la parcela deportiva, Annika Kohoutkova se adjudicó el U12 y la jugadora más joven; Maga-

delna Cervinkova fue la ganadora del U14 Femenino mientras que Max Popovic lo hizo en la categoría Masculina; Alexander Amey se proclamó vencedor del U16 Handicap Mixto, seguido en el podio por Daniil Pogiba y Christian Collins; en U16 Scratch el triunfo fue para Ashley Chalmers acompañado en el cajón de Christian Steel y Ralf Henri

La Gran Fiesta del Circuito La cuarta edición se clausura con una gala en las instalaciones del Casino Admiral San Roque y la entrega de premios final La cuarta edición del Circuito de Golf La Revista de Sotogrande contó con un evento de clausura a la altura del nivel demostrado por los participantes a lo largo de toda la temporada de golf, cuya aventura comenzase allá por el mes de abril en el Real Club de Golf de Sevilla. Una gala final, celebrada en las instalaciones del Salón Arena del Casino Admiral San Roque, con la presencia de jugadores, patrocinadores y representantes del mundo del golf local.

Tras la bienvenida, los asistentes presenciaron la entrega de premios para los ganadores de la Gran Final, disputada el pasado martes (18 de octubre) en el mítico Real Club Valderrama,

para posteriormente disfrutar de una exquisita cena y un espectáculo musical en directo ofrecido por el Casino.

En el apartado deportivo, se reconoció la fidelidad y gran juego regular durante toda la fase clasificatoria con el galardón a los primeros clasificados en el ránking general. Celia Nebot fue la premiada en la Categoría Damas, Luis del Rosal en Segunda Cat. Caballeros y Karl Heinz Elschner, en Primera Categoría de Caballeros.

Ya, respecto a la final en Valderrama, Francisco Carneros se llevó la Bola más cercana, mientras que Antonio Ramírez se adjudicó el Drive más Largo. En Categoría Damas, Con-

cha Soler se impuso en la cita final, acompañada en el podio por Dawn Milton y Sun Qianru. En Segunda Categoría, el triunfo fue para Luis del Rosal seguido por Antonio Ramírez y José María Caballero. Por último, en Primera Categoría, Antonio Cidoncha logró la victoria seguido de Ángel Morales (ganador de las dos últimas ediciones) y Antonio García Frías que además se llevó el premio Scratch.

También se llevó a cabo el sorteo de dos becas de cursos de verano por parte del colaborador del Circuito, el Grupo Forenex, que recayeron en manos de César Moreno y Álvaro Revuelta.

The fourth edition of the Sotogrande Magazine Golf Circuit had a closing event to match the level of form shown by its participants throughout the golfing season, an adventure that began back in April at Real Club de Golf de Sevilla. The closing gala was held at the facilities the Salón Arena at Casino Admiral San Roque, with the attendance of players, sponsors and representatives from the local golf world.

Following the welcome, attendants watched the prize giving for the winners of the Grand Final, which took place on Tuesday (18 October) at the legendary Real Club Valderrama, before enjoying an exquisite dinner and a live music show given by the Casino.

In terms of the sport, there was recognition of the loyalty and great play during the entire qualifying stage with the award for the top qualifying players in the overall rankings. Celia Nebot was the winner in the Women´s

Category, Luis del Rosal, in the Men´s Second Category and Karl Heinz Elschner, in the Men´s First Category.

With regard to the final in Valderrama, Francisco Carneros won Closest Ball, while Antoni Ramírez took Longest Drive. In the Women´s Category, Concha Soler took victory in the final event, and was accompanied on the podium by Dawn Milton and Sun Qianru. In the Men´s Second Category, the win went to Luis del Rosal, followed by Antonio Ramírez and José María Caballero. Lastly, in the Men´s First Category, Antonio Cidoncha took victory, followed by Ángel Morales (winner of the last two editions) and Antonio García Frías, who also won the Scratch prize.

The prize draw also took place for two grants for summer courses offered by the Circuit´s collaborator, Grupo Forenex, and they went to César Moreno and Álvaro Revuelta.

Mucho golf y muchas diversión.

Extraordinario ambiente el vivido durante la celebración del XXII Torneo de Damas de Golf que se disputó en las instalaciones del Club de Golf Municipal La Cañada. La cita, como es tradicional, contó con una competitiva mañana de torneo a la que siguió una amena y simpática comida con la entrega de premios a todas las participantes en el torneo.

En esta ocasión, el equipo formado por: Aurora Hidalgo, María José Hidalgo, Macarena Benítez y María Abaitua, con un total de 108 puntos en total que le permitió sellar la victoria. Con una puntuación de 105 puntos y en segunda posición finalizó el conjunto de Julia Chacón, María Jesús López Cortijo, Lulú Pouroulis y María Ángeles Arraez.

Cerró el podio, en tercer lugar y empatado a puntos con el segun-

do escalón, el equipo de: Gillian Reynolds, Julie Harris, Alison Evans y Samantha Harben.

Magnífico ambiente durante toda la jornada, tanto en el apartado deportivo, como en el social y posterior tras la prueba. Sin duda, es una de las pruebas más esperadas del año por las amantes del golf en la zona en una cita que atrae a jugadores también del resto de la provincia y de Málaga.

Un Baco por todo lo alto. La XXIV edición del Torneo de Golf Baco, una de las citas más esperadas por los amantes del golf de la zona y de las provincias más cercanas, reunió a nada menos que a 23 equipos participantes en una jornada fantástica en el Club de Golf La Cañada, el mejor registro de jugadores desde el año 2007 (antes de la crisis económica).

Torneo con gran sabor, tradición y en especial, diversión.

La parte deportiva estuvo muy emocionante, con viento que dificultó algo la partida, pero que no mermó el buen nivel, varios resultados destacables y un día de golf fantástico. Una primera parte en la que mandó el golf para dar paso a una segunda más lúdica y amena como es la tradicional comida y posterior entrega de premios

y regalos a todos los participantes en el torneo.

En cuanto al cuadro de honor, el equipo APTTA fue el ganador con un total de 102 puntos: Enrique Bejarano Ramet, Alberto Gutiérrez Uceda, Álvaro Clavijo y Salvador García Ramírez. Como segundo clasificado finalizó el cuarteto de Mesón La Garrocha, integrado por: José Ledesma, Ignacio Jiménez, Diego Gil y Andrés Lara, con 98 puntos. Por último, cerró la terna de honor y podio el equipo Sotoarkitecnia 21: Juan Torres, Joaquín Almagro, Juan del Pozo, José Fco. López Roca, con 96 puntos.

Una nueva edición del Torneo Baco de Golf para el recuerdo en Sotogrande y que ya pone su larga vista en el 25 aniversario de la competición que se cumplirá el próximo otoño.

La Cañada Golf successfully hosts the 23rd Women´s Tournament A total of 20 teams, each with four members, competed in a new edition of this traditional women´s golf event Lots of golf and lots of fun.

There was an extraordinary atmosphere at the holding of the 23rd Women´s Golf Tournament that was held at the facilities of La Cañada Municipal Golf Club. The event, as is traditional, has a competitive morning tournament, followed by a pleasant and nice lunch with the prize giving ceremony for all of the tournament´s participants.

A Baco tournament in true style.

The 24th edition of the Baco Golf Tournament, one of the most eagerly awaited tournaments for golf lovers in the area and nearby provinces, brought together no fewer than 23 participating teams for a great day at Club de Golf La Cañada, the best record of players since 2007 (before the economic crisis).

This is a tournament with a great feel, traditional and especially, fun. The sporting side of things was very exciting, with a wind that made the round somewhat more difficult, but did not reduce the good playing level. There were several noteworthy results and a fantastic day of golf. The first stage with golf taking centre stage led on into the second more fun and entertaining stage with the traditional meal and subsequent prize giving and

gifts for all the participants in the tournament.

As for the rankings, the APTTA team was the winner with a total of 102 points: Enrique Bejarano Ramet, Alberto Gutiérrez Uceda, Álvaro Clavijo y Salvador García Ramírez. This was a memorable new edition of the Baco Golf Tournament in Sotogrande, and it is now looking ahead to the 25th anniversary of the competition which will take place next autumn.

El Circuito de Vela RC44 abrirá la temporada en Sotogrande el próximo abril 1 Manuel Gil

La temporada 2017 del Circuito de RC44 contará con cinco pruebas en Europa y se estrenará con nueva cita en Sotogrande del 27 al 30 de abril que repite como escenario de esta regata internacional tras los éxitos cosechados en su primera ocasión (2014) y la más reciente, a principios del pasado verano.

Además, una década después de su nacimiento el RC44 Championship Tour cambiará en 2017 su formato de competición. La siempre exigente modalidad de Match Race,

con la que se abrían las regatas, pasará a desarrollarse como día de entrenamientos permitiendo cuatro días de intensa competición en regatas de flota.

Tras Sotogrande, la flota podrá rumbo a Porto Cervo -Cerdeña, Italia- para competir entre el 29 de junio y el 2 de julio. La tercera cita del circuito tendrá lugar en Marstrand (Suecia) entre el 9 y el 13 de agosto, donde navegarán por el título mundial.

Tras tres temporadas en la clase, el armador del mona-

gesco “Charisma” Nico Pons comentaba: “El calendario para la próxima temporada pinta muy bien y ansío la disputa del título mundial en Marstrand. Las condiciones de viento y mar que encontraremos darán lo mejor del diseño de estas unidades RC44”.

La penúltima prueba de la temporada llevará a la flota a uno de los lugares favoritos de los regatistas, Cascais (Portugal), entre el 28 de septiembre y el 1 de octubre. La prueba final del circuito se anunciará en breves fechas.

RC44 Sailing Circuit will begin season in Sotogrande next April The 2017 season of the RC44 Circuit in Sotogrande will have five events in Europe and will get underway with a new event in Sotogrande from 27 to 30 April that has chosen the venue again for this international race following the successes of the first time (2014) and the most recent occasion, at the start of last summer.

Furthermore, a decade after its establishment, the RC44 Championship Tour will have a change of format in 2017. The always demanding March Race format, previously used as an opener for the races, will now take place as a training day, allowing for four days of intense competition in fleet racing.

Following three seasons in the class, Nico Pons the skipper of the Monaco vessel “Charisma” stated: “The

calendar for next season looks very good and I am looking forward to competing for the world title in Marstrand. The wind and sea conditions that we will find will offer the best of the design of these RC44 vessels”.

The penultimate event of the season will take the fleet to one of the favourite sports for

racers, Cascais (Portugal), between 28 September and 1 October. The final event of the circuit will be announced shortly.

El Campo de Golf Municipal de La Cañada acogió la Copa Presidente Infantil, en la que participaron 87 niños. El torneo se jugó a 18 hoyos bajo la modalidad de juego por golpes medal.

La Copa Presidente Infantil se disputó en 5 categorías (junior / cadete, infantil, alevín, benjamín 9 hoyos y Pitch & Putt), y contó con un día espléndido para la práctica del golf. Dicho torneo comenzó a las 09:30 horas y la

entrega de premios se realizó, tras un almuerzo, en el Club de Golf La Cañada.

Around one hundred children participate in Children´s Presidents Cup at La Cañada Golf

La Cañada Municipal Golf Course hosted the Children´s Presidents Cup, in which 87 children participated. The tournament was played over 18 holes using the medal shots format.

The Children´s Presidents Cup was played across 5 categories (junior / under-16´s, under-14´s, under-12´s, under 10´s and Pitch & Putt), and participants enjoyed a splendid day for playing golf. The tournament began at 9.30 am, and the prize giving took place following a lunch at La Cañada Golf Club

The winners were, in the Scratch Junior / Under-16´s category, Fernando Galiano Muñoz; HCP Junior / Under-16´s, Sean Neave Gurruchaga; Scratch / Under-14´s Category, Raúl Cervera Mateo; and HCP Under-14´s Category, Jacobo de Andrés Vázquez.

Intensa labor en Mallorc,a con ocasión de la celebración de la feria International Golf Travel Market (IGTM), de las principales entitades del golf en Sotogrande, con la colaboración de la Delegación Municipal de Turismo.

La IGTM es la feria especializada en golf más importante del mundo y se desarrolló en Mallorca.

LA IGTM está enfocada a los touroperadores especializados en golf, está organizada por International Association of Golf Tour Operators y cada año se celebra en un lugar distinto. La muestra, de carácter exclusivamente profesional, está considerada la feria de proveedores de la industria de vacaciones de golf por excelencia. En esta ocasión se dieron cita cerca de 1.200 personas entre

proveedores de la industria, compradores, visitantes profesionales y periodistas.

Cuenta con expositores de cerca de 55 países, y se exponen más de 500 ‘stands’ entre los cuales hay clubes de golf, hoteles y compradores de turismo de golf como touroperadores, mayoristas, agentes de viajes o portales de reserva. Es también una edición récord en número de compradores, con más de 400 registrados. Buena parte de estos compradores proceden de mercados lejanos como Estados Unidos, China o Brasil.

Sotogrande golf on show at IGTM fair

Intense work in Mallorca, to mark the holding of the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM), with the main golfing bodies in Sotogrande, with the collaboration of the Municipal Tourism Department. The IGTM is the most important specialised golf fair in the work and it took place in Mallorca.

The IGTM is focused on tour operators specialised in golf, it is organised by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators and each year it is held in a different place.

The exhibition, which is exclusively for professionals, is considered to be the suppliers

fair par excellence of the golfing holiday industry. On this occasion, almost 1200 people gathered, including industry suppliers, buyers, professional visitors and journalists.

It has exhibitors from almost 55 countries, and more than 550 stands are exhibited, among which there are golf clubs, hotels and buyers of golf tourism such as tour operators, wholesalers, travel agents and booking sites. It was also a record edition in terms of the number of buyers, with more than 400 registered. A good deal of these buyers come from distant markets such as the United States, China and Brazil.

Magnífica segunda jornada en aguas de Sotogrande del VI Circuito de J/80 Marina Sotogrande.

El ‘Gesta Real Estate’, el barco de John Bassadone, consiguió su segundo tanto consecutivo y aumentar en dos puntos su ventaja sobre el ‘Marbella Team’ -defensor del título- en la general provisional del circuito tras dos asaltos y doce pruebas. La segunda entrega volvió a ser de alto voltaje con tres pruebas ajustadas al máximo, salidas de infarto y viradas imposibles en un día marcado por el viento estable de poniente que empezaba soplando de entre 18 y 20 nudos de intensidad con rachas de 23/24 durante los dos primeros recorridos, bajando a 16 nudos con role incluido en la tercera y última prueba del día y sexta del fin de semana.

Tres pruebas y tres ganadores distintos aunque ninguno de ellos era el barco de Caine Federico y Ricardo Zabell, necesitado de mejores parciales para confirmar el liderato provisional al que llegaba tras la jornada del sába-

do. Con dos cuartos y un séptimo, el ‘PAS Team’ se conforma con la tercera plaza en la general del fin de semana a cuatro y cinco puntos del ‘Gesta Real Estate’ y el ‘Marbella Team’ de Pepequín Orbaneja y Juan Luis Páez, ganadores parciales de este día junto al ‘PF Sailing Team’ de Petter Fjellstad que vencía en la tercera prueba. Una vez aplicado el descarte, la primera plaza era para los de Bassadone, conducidos el sábado por Oliver Góngora y el domingo por su armador, que sumaban al primero un segundo y un quinto, seguido con un punto más por el ‘Marbella Team’, ganadores de la segunda manga con un segundo y un cuarto en las otras dos.

A la espera del siguiente asalto previsto para el 3 y 4 de diciembre, el ‘Gesta Real Estate’ se mantiene imbatido en la general provisional con doce pruebas y aumenta a dos puntos su ventaja con el barco de CN Sevilla, ‘Marbella Team’ de Orbaneja y Páez, a quien este año y después de cinco sin perder se le pone muy

cuesta arriba revalidar honores.

El tercer puesto es para el noruego Vidar Hansson con su ‘High Seas’ y a las puertas de podio se sitúa el ‘PAS Team’.

El VI Circuito para monotipos J80 Marina de Sotogrande cuenta con la organización del Club Náutico Bevelle, con la colaboración de la Revista de Sotogrande, La Reserva de Sotogrande, J Spain, Varadero Sotogrande, Quantum, Dymag.es, Sunseeker y Bevelle Náutica. Cabe recordar que este año una de las novedades del Circuito es que pone en juego el título absoluto, que será para quien gane después de nueve entregas dobles, y los correspondientes al circuito de invierno que se terminará tras la jornada de febrero, y el de primavera, desde entonces hasta junio.

The 6th Sotogrande Marina J80 Circuit enjoyed a magnificent second day in Sotogrande waters. The “Gesta Real Estate”, the vessel skippered by John Bassadone managed its second consecutive win, increasing its advantage over “Marbella Team” –the title defender- by two points on the circuit´s provisional rankings following two events and twelve heats.

The second event was once again electrifying with three extremely close events, heart stopping starts and impossible turns on a day marked by the stable westerly wind that began blowing at an intensity of between 18 and 20 knots with spells of 23/24 during the first two heats, dropping to 16 knots with a role in the third and final heat of the day and the sixth of the weekend.

Three events and three different winners although none of them went to the vessel of Caine Federico and Ricardo Zabell, who needed better partials to confirm the provisional leadership that they had reached after Saturday.

With two fourth places and a seventh, “PAS Team” have to make do with third place in the general weekend rankings, four and five points behind “Gesta Real Estate” and “Marbella Team” skippered by Pepequín Orbaneja and Juan Luis Páez, partial winners of the day alongside “PF Sailing Team” with Petter Fjellstad, the winner of the third heat. Once the ruling out had been applied, first

place went to Bassadone´s team, skippered on Saturday by Oliver Góngora and on Sunday by its skipper, which added a second place and a fifth to their first place, one point ahead of “Marbella Team”, winners of the second heat with a second place and a fourth place in the other two heats.

Ahead of the next event, planned for the 3 and 4 of December, “Gesta Real Estate” remain unbeaten in the general rankings with twelve heats and have increased their advantage to two points over the CN Sevilla boat, “Marbella Team” skippered by Orbaneja and Páez, who will have an uphill struggle this year to retain the title after five years without losing. El ministro de Educación, Cultura y Deporte, Íñigo Méndez de Vigo, presidió la entrega de las medallas de la Real Orden del Mérito Deportivo, distinción que concede el Gobierno a los mejores deportistas del año a propuesta del Consejo Superior de Deportes.

En el acto, celebrado en el Museo Nacional de Arte Contemporáneo Reina Sofía en Madrid, también se reconoció la figura y trayectoria de personajes del deporte español. El evento también contó con la presencia del ministro de Justicia, Rafael Catalá, y del presidente del Consejo Superior de Deportes, Miguel Cardenal.

Sotogrande estuvo muy representado en las condecoraciones tanto el mundo del polo como del golf.

Manuel Piñero, colaborador y muy implicado en el desarrollo golfístico de La Reserva de Sotogrande,

recibió la Medalla de Bronce por su papel como seleccionador nacional del equipo español de golf en los Juegos Olímpico de Río de Janeiro, el pasado verano.

Respecto al polo, fue la maxima exponente de Sotogrande en esta prestigiosa gala de reconocimientos del deporte nacional. Ignacio Domecq Urquijo, uno de los pioneros del polo en Sotogrande y de

los mejores jugadores en el panorama español, recibió la Medalla de Plata de la Real Orden del Mérito Deportivo, mismo distintivo en Bronce que recibieron también Ramón Mora-Figueroa Domecq e Íñigo Zobel Urquijo.

Sin duda, un gran exponente de la repercusión e importancia del deporte en Sotogrande y su reconocimiento a nivel nacional.

The Minster for Education, Culture and Sport, Íñigo Méndez de Vigo, presided over the award ceremony for the Royal Order of Sports Merit, a distinction that the Government awards to the finest sports people of the year, as proposed by the Sports Council. During the ceremony, held at the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid, they also paid homage to the figures and careers of leading Spanish sports stars. The event was also attended by Justice Minister Rafael Catalá, and Sports Council President Miguel Cardenal.

Sotogrande was well-represented in the awards, both in the polo world and the golfing world. Manuel Piñero, a key figure in the development of golf at La Reserva in So-

togrande, received the Bronze Medal for his role as manager of the Spanish golf team for the Olympic Games in Rio this summer.

As for polo, it was the greatest exponent for Sotogrande at this prestigious gala recognising national sporting achievement. Ignacio Domecq Urquijo, one of the pioneers of polo in Sotogrande and one of the finest players on the Spanish scene, received the Silver Medal of the Royal Order of Sports Merit, while the Bronze medal was awarded to Ramón Mora-Figueroa Domecq and Íñigo Zobel Urquijo.

This is undoubtedly a huge exponent of the impact and importance of sport in Sotogrande, and its recognition at a national level.

El alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, entregó los trofeos junto al presidente de la entidad, José Chapaza, el concejal de Deportes, Antonio Navas, el teniente de alcalde delegado del Valle del Guadiaro, Óscar Ledesma, y la concejal Belén Jiménez.

En cuanto a los vencedores, en Primera Categoría Masculina fue Carlos Sánchez Gil; en Femenina, María de los Ángeles

Arráez Conde; en Segunda Masculina, Francisco Funes Gutiérrez; y en Sénior, Moisés Valadez Galiano. En Scratch, el ganador fue José Ledesma Gavira.

Club de Golf La Cañada holds its 33rd President´s Cup The facilities at Club de Golf La Cañada hosted the 33rd President´s Cup, a traditional event at the club in which most of its members participate. The playing format was individual Medalplay, with almost one hundred participants at the event.

Following the day of sport, the traditional social lunch took place, which concluded with a prize giving, and a prize draw.

cuando quedó eliminado en la semifinales de la Escuela del European Tour. Jugó en Panorámica y es innegable que llegó bien preparado, tal y como demostró en el Gecko, pero el golf puede ser así de traicionero cuando te lo juegas todo a una carta.

No es la primera victoria en la larga carrera profesional de Andersson. Tiene cuatro triunfos en los circuitos locales de Suecia, aunque el último lo consiguió en el año 2013. Sí se estrena como campeón en el Gecko Tour, un circuito donde ya brilló con luz

El Gecko me encanta, es perfecto para mí porque donde yo vivo no puedo jugar al golf ahora mismo”, explicó.

ing any victories. “I have finished second and third many times but I had never been able to win, so I am very happy. I love The Gecko Tour, it is perfect for me because where I live means that I am unable to play golf right now”, he explained.
